Found this place through googling record stores in the north Jersey area. The parking situation is a bit tough, especially since they share the lot with an auto shop. They have a fairly big space with a big selection of pop and rock vinyls! The prices either matched online or were somewhat cheaper, so you definitely get your money's worth. I always look for a LatinAmerican section, and they did have one, but it wasn't as good as other record stores I have been to. The service was definitely excellent! The manager, or at least who I think was the manager, was very attentive and helped us get a turntable we were pondering about buying or not, and he was great answering questions about it. The decor is a plus! So fun and so many "old" posters and references. Definitely stop by if given the chance! read more

Love this place. It's in Dover and in the cut. So many vinyls. Everything is so organized and the music they play is awesome. Such a wide selection of music and their decor is real cool. The employees and owners are super friendly. Cost is average and love seeing the rare collections. Always bring back memories when my father took me to a record store. Stopped in Factory Records today to check the place out for the first time. Easy to find off Route 15 in Dover, NJ. Plenty of parking, love the "factory" ambience and the staff was incredible! Everyone I spoke with had a great attitude and gave good direction. Today was also Record Store Day ( a special day in the record collector community) so it was extremely busy but Factory Records had a great system and their selections well organized. This place is awesome!! If you're looking for new and used vinyl at great prices this is the place to go. They've got a great bargain spot, I found some perfect used vinyl. Their vinyls are sorted by genre and contains new and used. They have a big section of sale new vinyl as well. Please check their site when you can, as they have listening parties in a very cool section. Check out the pic I posted. And you can rent it out. They also have used CD's and DVD's. This place is off the hook! How did I not know about it? I was in the area and looked up "Record Stores Near Me". Wow! Not only is this place massive but it's also very well organized. Records, videos, turntables ... even 8-track tapes. The lounge there looked really cool and I'm sure it's a great place to have a party or hang out at one of their events. Nice people there, too -- and they didn't even make fun of me when I bought a Partridge Family record. Extra points for selling Weird NJ magazine! I will definitely be back. read more

Combination vinyl, CD and DVD store plus stereo equipment resale and repair shop, all under one warehouse roof! Very well organized, different sections for different media, plenty of space, everything sorted by artist, a pleasure to browse here, you're not digging in some battered box underneath a table. Super fun to relive my youth by browsing racks of used records lol. They're serious about fixing and reselling old equipment here, lots of used amps, receivers, tape decks and even turntables if you need one. If you are looking for old stuff in old formats, this really is a fantastic place. However, the music is organized very poorly. It takes sooooo long to go through it in different areas. Prices are good, but bummer in that they will not accept returns. You have to inspect everything. Caveat emptor!! read more

This place is coooool... I know nothing about records, thus can't speak on prices, or values. However, the selection is HUGE! I typically am met with friendly encounters as well when I visit. Before today I have never left a bad review for a business. If a business is not for me, then it isn't for me, and I've worked at too many jobs to not forget that someone might just be having a bad day. What I witnessed at Factory Records has stayed with me for days and it is worth sharing. Maybe the management will address what happened. Maybe they won't. We drove 45 minutes to visit this store--we love record stores. While we were there a customer came in and asked for Red Hot Chili Peppers. His English was broken but understandable and his demeanor was nice and patient. The staff was so rude to him that I had a hard time wrapping my head around what I was witnessing, and I regret that. "Chile? Is that where you are from? You speak Spanish? We speak English here." (The man spoke Ukrainian and Russian, and English.) He tried again- clearly/ Red Hot Chili Peppers, disco (disco in many countries would imply record.) "Disco?! This is a record store!" At this point my husband jumped in, offering to call my nephew to translate (he speaks 4 languages including Russian and Ukrainian) but the staff told the man to come back another day. The man said ok, questioning if he should come back tomorrow. "Tomorrow?! This is America! Tomorrow is Thanksgiving! Sure you come back tomorrow. We'll be closed" If this is the kind of business you would like to support, at least you know what you are supporting. The interaction was awful, and humiliating for the poor guy who was just trying to navigate the language and support a local business. Is it possible we misread the situation? I sure hope so. But it left us embarrassed and angry. read more

A wonderfully clean, organized, and lovingly curated selection. Almost every single album is sleeved, and I found mostly VG+ quality throughout the store. There is a love for metal and rock that shows itself, but don't sleep on the 12" section and more, I found some great stuff in the Latin and Soul sections. The prices are consistent and very fair for the quality throughout. They have a wonderful, and again, lovingly taken care of, vintage audio equipment including turntables, speakers, and receivers. The shop is a bit off the beaten path, but for a day trip from NYC, you'd be a fool not to take in the delicious Latino food in town, then take the train back. read more

Such a cool spot! Went here for a comedy show. Every comic was hilarious and the venue is beautiful. Plus, it's a huge record store with an amazing selection. It's a really fun place to check out. Maybe it's me but tried to like this place. We went 3 times. I find the help rude. I find when you ask them a question you are bothering them. Yes they have a lot but you can't tell the quality unless its brand new. I ended up finding a new place in Chester NJ. All the albums are labeled with there condition. Which are mostly new. Gino orders what ever you want. Prices are very good. I feel like family. He appreciates me as a customer. I don't want to feel out of place and judged. The beauty is i get to chose where i spend my money. And its not going to be here. read more

Pinch me, I must be dreaming. A MASSIVE, reasonably priced vinyl store a short 10 minutes away from home??? Can it be??? It can. I'm so happy that Factory Records is here. I get my 70's and 80's fix in spades. If you buy a lot the nice fellow at the counter will knock down the price on something like maybe Running on Empty which I was happy to pay full price (under $5) for one of the greatest albums of the 70's but hey, JB isn't for everyone and I wouldn't say no to a deal. I actually went to this establishment to have a custom picture frame changed and the owner told me about the record side. It was such a great place to see all the vinyl records and all the record players. They were in the process of putting together a room that you can rent for parties that had a stage so you can have a DJ or band. Very cool lounge vibe! read more
