However, I did not want a fade (we used to call them "white walls"). Jacob listened to the kind of cut I wanted and did exactly as I requested. For 20 years, every place I've been to in the RGV, the barber wants to used clippers and zip up the sides. Jacob knows how to use clippers, but he took his time and did the job with scissors, and I love the results. The Upper Room Barbershop is located on the south side of the little strip mall on the corner of North 23rd and W. Ivy St. Facing the building from 23rd St., go around the left side where the parking lot is, and in the rear you will see the back entrance with the barber's pole sign. My fault for not booking an appointment. When They open I asked one of the owners (Chino) who was their master barbers or had the most experience. I'm an older professional who doesn't mind paying or tipping for a good service. He replied that everyone was great! After the wait, Ramon took my son and gave him a great hair cut loved it! BuT..... The owner's younger brother( I later found out) called my name. He was nice but INEXPERIENCED. Looking at the other barbers' work I was a little more confidentAfter making some mistakes With my beard I told him not to worry, so he just trimmed it down. I started to look at the mirror and saw more errors, he tried to fix them but I just told him to stop. He didn't even line my mustache straight. I asked for a hot towel shave and he shaved me with the electric shaver after the straight razor. My skin is burning and irritated!!!! The following picture is what I asked for and then the end result. By the way, I asked for a low taper and I don't think he even gave me a fade. Barber contacted me and apologized.
