I have been looking for a barbershop like this for over a few years and am so glad Faded opened up right in downtown Carlsbad. I have visited a few times since their opening in Summer and have gotten a perfect cut each time. They really make you feel welcome offering a dope waiting area outside, free WiFi, and free beers on tap for their customers! Shop and bathroom are all very clean and they run AC when it's hot out so I didn't mind waiting a few minutes for my barber to set me up. I have gotten my hair cut by two different barbers but both have turned out great and even spoke to the owner who was in the shop hanging out one day. I didn't get my haircut here, but I would just like to leave them a review because of how nice the guys in here were. I was outside trying to keep an injured bird from going in the street. And when I realized that the bird was a juvenile and needed to be taken to a rehabilitation center, they saw me inside and brought out a cardboard box for me to take him. Walked into Faded barbershop with sign in front "Walk-ins Welcome.". 2 barbers there but no customers. Neither wanted to cut my hair. One said he had appointment at 11:00 but it was only 10:30! The other offered no explanation as to why he wouldn't cut hair at this time -- but asked if I'd come back later. This is the second time I've "walked in" and wasn't "welcome" as their sign said, despite chairs being empty. I've had 2 visits where I got good haircuts but because of the above, I won't be going back. read more

Honestly the best haircut my boys have ever had. I brought my ten year old and twelve year old here and they did not want to try a new place. But they've never been completely happy with their haircuts in the past. I convinced them to try it and they are so happy! They both love their new hair cuts. So I don't normally write reviews but my experience with this place deserves it. I only get my cut with Jaime, but I am sure all the other barbers here are as quality as Jaime is. At first I was hesitant because the price is pretty steep for a haircut IMO. But, I just want to say this really is one of those cases where you truly get what you pay for. The extra cost is because you are getting a professional cut. And it's never half-assed. Jaime has given me new life to my hair despite my crappy genes. I see a lot of dudes with really nice locks and I've constantly had confidence issues about my hair my entire life because I have thin and difficult to work with hair that just never does quite what I want it to... Jaime has an incredible attention to detail and has gotten my cut to a point where I never knew that my hair could actually look good (or at least that's how I've felt for a good chunk of my life.) Thank you Jaime. You are a master of the blade. A true modern day ninja. I'm gonna miss this place when I have to move. 10/10 would recommend read more

Didn't actually get a haircut so this review is on the customer service. Sign clearly says "walk ins welcome." It was only 2 in the afternoon and I brought my five year old son in for a trim. There was one person who is cutting hair for a customer. He tells me there are two other barbers who just left and he will give them a call. We waited while he called them and asked if someone could come back for a customer, and then got off the phone and told me that they couldn't do today and "would I like to schedule for tomorrow?" ...Does it look like i dragged my five year old son in here to make an appointment at a walk in barbershop just to come back tomorrow?!! Um, no thanks. It's the middle of the afternoon so if no one can is actually available, your sign should be modified to say appointments only. I did however end up finding the best walk in place nearby and couldn't have been happier elsewhere. read more
