I'm the one who left the review, and the appointment was under my husband's name. He came in, explained exactly what he wanted, and the cut he received was noticeably shorter than requested. When he pointed that out, he was told "it'll grow," which is not an acceptable response from a professional service--we're paying for the haircut he asked for, not a promise that it'll eventually look right. Saying my name "isn't in your books" doesn't change what happened. We're not looking for a reimbursement; we were looking for a haircut done correctly and with basic respect. Do not let Sasha cut your hair especially if you have curly hair. My son specifically said not too short up front. She cut it way too short. My son is beside himself. And curly hair grows Slowly. Every teen kids worst nightmare. read more

This place was a gem. In town on vacation, I found them online and made an appointment in seconds. I sat in JR's chair and he quickly suggested a cut; I've never had anybody do that before. And in the end, he was right: his way does look better than the same cut I've told every barberever to do it. (Fade it up with a 1 instead of the boring business 3/4). He caught me at the door before I left and told me how to describe it to my barber back home. All in all, a great experience, fun atmosphere, and professional, thorough barbers. Walked in as a first time customer and the barber was extremely condescending and rude! We were just looking to get a beard lined up and the barber was really weird about it also said it would be $45 to line up a beard??! This is the only place I really truly trust my boyfriend to get his haircuts and Sam is by far THEE best one there! He just KNOWS what needs to be done when my boyfriend comes in with a mop on his head and face. Take my word when I say that after Sam is done with my boyfriend, I can't stop staring because he does AMAZING work. Not only does he know what specific looks look good on people, but he's CLEAN too. Sharp af. First off, the vibe of this place is just so chill. The guys are super cool and easy to talk to (even when I was just waiting). The location is even cool if you just want to walk around. Homophobic and crass. Buzz cut with no style. Super awkward... This was my second cut there. This is I think like a family run place, been there a long time. Cool cool. What is NOT OK is (the day after yet another anti-lgbtq shooting) the barber goes off on a tangent on how "gays or whatever should not put it out there in our faces... and how tv is disgusting now and ... what do I tell my kids when they ask why 2 men are kissing... " I felt like I was in the twilight zone. Like WTF dude? NEVER going back to that place. ALSO - damn... the regular trim is like save yourself 40 bucks and just razor your entire head. Ugg... my hair is like boot camp short for the holidays. If anything she actually made me LOOK gay lol.... btw - I am not gay... but I am not married either so what if I were and wow how do you just throw it down that you hate on them? Junior gave me a great haircut. I waited a little while, he waved me over, I sat down. "I'm going to hook you up today; you're going to love this new look!" He confidently and enthusiastically said. "You wanna go short? You're comfortable going short?" I said, "yeah, short; a fade and a trim." He spent over an hour trimming, clipping, buzzing, combing and checking his results. I think he did a great job, my hair feels amazing! So comfortable and much better! It's almost like he read my mind with the shortness being just right; I noticed at previous barbershops elsewhere I'd ask for short and they'd always go a little longer, but not Junior, he cut it perfect! After messing around with other shops in North County (that all sucked..) I heard of Leucadia Barber Shop. Been going here for about a year now, and roughly 7-8 times. Every time I've gotten my cut it's been good. They listen to what you want, they take their time, they don't give you a 1-2 fade when you ask for a 0 skin fade (looking at you other barber shops..) all the guys, and one lady, are super friendly and nice too. Literally the only downside is they can get busy and then you got to wait for awhile.. but they're good, so of course they would get busy.. if they sucked you wouldn't have to wait cause no one would want to be there. So yeah, I don't go anywhere else. You shouldn't either. read more
