I have always had really good hair, and get compliments on it all the time. Let me tell you, I wish I had made the drive! I booked an appt with Victoria, and needless to say she butchered my layers with very hard lines, and then a huge gap between that and the bottom of my hair. She kept saying she could even them out, and blend them better, but I was scared for her to put the scissors to my hair anymore and just sat there not knowing what to say. The picture I showed her was nothing like what I ended up with, and I use the same pic every time I go to the salon as a reminder for my regular stylist...who does a fabulous job! I asked Victoria that she get the owner, who came over and tried to fix it herself the best she could. I am grateful she was able to blend it a little better, but I guess it's hard to completely fix something that was done poorly. I had to leave out of town for a wedding that weekend and felt so insecure about it! I guess the moral of the story is, if you are happy with your stylist, and can drive no matter how far...make the drive!!! Also, You get what you pay for, because I usually spend a lot more on my hair then what I did here. I was hoping to find somewhere closer, but I will be making the drive for now on! So very upset! I did give 2 ONLY because the owner tried to help fix it, and she was super nice!!

So if you're going to take him somewhere, it better be a place where there are fun things like cars for seats and TVs with unlimited cartoons on them. And most importantly, a post-cut balloon on stand by. We just moved to the area from Tampa, where we had a Sharkeys that was practically walking distance from our house. While this Sharkeys is a few miles away, I think it will be our to-go until he can appreciate the finer things in life like a straight razor cleanup at a barber shop. This particular haircut was probably the one he disliked the most, for whatever reason. And the person who cut his hair (her name escapes me, unfortunately) dealt with our crazy toddler like a champ. His crying and rapid movements really did not phase her and his cut ended up looking great. He pretty much cried from the moment we put him in the chair until he was given the aforementioned balloon to celebrate the torture being over. We'll be back and hopefully, we've seen the worst of his outbursts during haircuts.

I thought no problem excited to RETURN to Karina since she did a great job our 1st visit. Karina's next appt cancelled and she came out back with a mean grin and was very quite very guarded. Would not engage with my well behaved 24 month old at all. I tried to engage in polite small talk reminding her about our prior visit. The owner/front desk woman showed Karina on their computer his last haircut which she did. I specifically said, "I've been growing his hair out he only needs to trim one long piece in the back (I grabbed the long piece and showed her too) and taper it like last time." Karina frowning the entire time said ok and began shaving of high fading the side of his head. I didn't see as I was helping her hold my son's head still on the other side. She then grabbed the scissors and started chopping his back which was just at ponytail length. I said very calmly and politely, "why did you chop all back when I said one piece!" She said, "this is the last time I'm doing his hair SO WHAT!" I couldn't believe the harshness in her tone or understand what was the problem. My son was an angel no fuss! I was very pleasant too. It was too late my son's curls were gone I wanted to cry!!! After she stated it was her last time I tried to reassure her she was doing a good job so she wouldn't butcher my son's hair even more. She then tried to give him spiked sideburns! He didn't have that and I didn't ask. She was pissed when I said please no spikes. So after all that she said I have to finish the other side of his head. I wish she would have charged me a late fee and not see my son at all. He didn't deserve that treatment he's an innocent little child. It was 2 weeks before his 2nd bday too. I read other similar reviews where did the same thing to another little boy with autism and maliciously chopped his hair uneven and made him jump after the mom said loud noises startle him. Anyway the front desk woman couldn't believe what she saw. She agreed that she completely ruined his hair. It took every fiber in me not to cuss out that evil bruja Karina! She does a fabulous job every time. She is a great stylist and a really kind person as well. She's very laid back, relaxed and is not loud or boisterous. She is easy to talk to and to converse with. Her prices are very good too, better than the salons in Willis. I highly recommend her for women and men. She used to cut my son's hair as until he relocated to a different city. She always did a really good job on his hair as well. Switch Hair Studio is a very cute place. There are lots of older furnishings and decorative items in the shop, like kind of an art deco/Frank Lloyd Wright vibe. It is really interesting to look at all of the items and reminisce about seeing similar items in my childhood home. The shop is always neat and clean.
