He quoted over email. He informed me he would have a plumber out to me - I took the morning off work - the plumber never arrived I rang him and informed him plumber had not arrived - he told me he had not put the job in the system so he would need to come out another day - again I had to chase him as plumber did not arrive at the newly scheduled time. Plumber eventually came and he disconnected the gas but did not provide me with a conformance cert. I told him he needed to provide me with a conformance cert - he argued with me but eventually acceded and I paid him. A few weeks later I tried to turn on my living room fire, I could not, I informed Con that his plumber disconnected gas to living room and below is the email thread that ensued: Gavin There was no gas supply to the fire present. I suspect it may have been disconnect at some other time. Con That's not true Con - I had the fire on when I moved into the house Gavin When I initially called you requested that the gas supply to the kitchen be disconnected. I told you that the best was to do this was to disconnect the old GB pipe and run a new supply to the boiler. This you agreed to. You never mentioned that there was a gas fire nor was there a gas supply taken from the garage for a fire. I explained what we were going to do which you were aware of and agreeable to. We had talked to two plumbers and then a friend of ours who's a builder recommended Tony (Concannon). He came out to have a look and talked us through our options and we were happy to go with him. Delighted that we did as he did a great job and was a pleasure to deal with - a real gent of a man. Our heating in the living room was never the greatest and once everything had been done sure enough not all of the rads in the house were working. The issue was down to the pre-existing pipe layout from when we had an extension done. This meant that the guys had to spend a good deal of time re-balancing all the rads in the house and getting rid of any air-pockets. Everything got sorted and the house is warmer than ever now. It was also great to go through and see sample rads before we made our choice. I passed on their contact details to my brother who is also looking to replace his boiler because it's always great to have the number of a good plumber! .
