A couple of years ago I noticed the amount of energy we were supposed to be getting with our solar panels had severely decreased as our SMUD bill increased. Someone recommended getting the panels cleaned. I saw a sign for Sierra Maintenance leaving our neighborhood and decided to give them a call. After they cleaned the panels, I noticed a lower SMUD bill the next month and in the subsequent months and even to this day. They also send before and after pictures which show just how filthy the panels can get. They also cleaned our gutters this time which I didn't realize had a ton of gunk in them. Our home is two-story ~ 4k sq foot. We have about 12 panels and it was ~$200 to clean them plus another $360 to clean the gutters. Expect to leave your gate, etc. unsecured for a full day. - I asked if they would be willing to consider trimming a bush that had become overgrown. They said "yes", and that I'd receive a quote that day. It's been 3 weeks, and I'm still waiting for the quote. No follow-up from them. I followed up, no response. I ended up doing it myself. It would have been a better experience if they'd have said "no, we don't trim bushes" instead of leaving me hanging. That's been my experience. Ed seems like an overall great business owner, and they do show up every week for basic lawn service. My only ask would be better expectation management. It was clear he understood what was going to be required for my twice monthly service. I have a yard that requires very little maintenance except for winter pruning of shrubs and 3 small crepe myrtle trees. It has taken them 3 months to respond to my requests to do what they promised. When the two workers come each time, I discuss what is required based on my agreement, and several times they have told me "next time." After several visits and the "next time" as promised does not happen, I had a talk with the workers. So this last time they responded with pruning 2 of the trees, butchering them, and the 3rd tree they left have unpruned! Seriously??? Also the two "next time" other items were not completed at all and they left their tools laying in my yard and left when I was not watching. To see if I could correct these issues, I emailed the office asking to cancel my remaining monthly service. No response in a week. I have left 3 phone messages in the last week with no response. Update: Did get a phone call from owner. He apologized. He said that his employees were not doing the job that he specified to them with written instructions. I did cancel the contract. The owner refunded my last month payment. I wonder if he will fire the non-performing employees. I have a low maintenance property. I'm just going to do all the landscape work myself.
