A couple of weeks later, I was told they never received it and that I needed to pay online (which wasn't an option before). I paid online, and about a week later my original check was cashed. I contacted SSC immediately to let them know I'd been double-charged and asked for a refund. That was three weeks ago. After saying he'd credit me via Venmo, the main contact has gone completely silent. Being double-charged and then ignored is unacceptable. I'd strongly recommend looking elsewhere.

Turns out, those roofers were calling a substance rust that wasn't rust and I didn't need a fix at all! Jay Jr literally saved me $4k on the spot (with photo evidence and all) by pointing that out. I learned so much about our gutters and roofs from that first meeting, he was a wealth of knowledge. Right there, I knew he was our guy. I didn't need Jay to fix the slate anymore but since I was so impressed I happily hired him to do some gutter fixes we needed done and painting a small portion of flat rubber roof white. The estimate was on my porch when I got home and was very reasonable; especially compared to the prices I've previously paid to companies who did horrible, sloppy work and didn't even clean out the gutters thoroughly to boot. He even stopped by one morning to follow up a few days later and we made an appointment for him to do the work. When I returned from work that day my driveway was immaculate......the entire length swept perfectly clean (it wasn't that clean when I left for work that morning!!) The perimeter of the house was spotless and of course all the gutters and downspouts were clear of a lot of debris. Honestly, in the 14 years I've owned my home no one, not a single contractor, has worked as quickly, competently and cleaned up as thoroughly as this man. I would say he left the place as clean as when he arrived, but he didn't....he left it in better shape.
