Wow this place is AWSOME! I know, I know it's a MRI Center but it is in a brand spanking new location and the entire INOVA Complex is highly modernistic. Impresssssssive! I had to bring my son for an MRI & upon entering this ginormous building we stopped & asked the security guard for directions, lol. He immediately got up and lead us to the proper hallway - talk about customer service. They did a C19 pre-screen with questionnaire and temp checks and then we were on our merry way up to the third floor. The receptionist was super friendly and the waiting area was spaced out and spotless. They have 2 TVs in the waiting area to pass the time if you can't keep yourself entertained. Only one was on but we came in the evening & patient appointments were nicely spaced apart so it wasn't really necessary to have them both on. The techs that assisted my son were great, immediately putting him at ease. They gave him a locking changing room with a key to keep his belongings safe. He came out happy and said it was a good experience. We waited a little bit and left with his MRI CD in hand. Nice! Mini Update: we had to go back the next day to image a little more & Ahmed was delightful to work with. Thank you!

Had a procedure today at INOVA Fairfax MRI Center. This center is sooo huge, without signs you will get lost. Signage is very good throughout the center and arrival areas. The intake personnel were very nice all around. My technician who did my procedure was very thorough, patient, and she made me feel very comfortable. Building is very beautiful inside and out!! Also exceptionally clean throughout the premises! Even had a healing art gallery room!!

I basically lived at this office when I was pregnant. I had the "routine" 20 week sono and ultrasound here, and that's where I was issued another ticket on the Fairfax Radiology train. Apparently, they saw a heart murmur in the baby, which which at the time could signal a cardiac issue or-- it was just a fluke. Thankfully, on a follow up visit, everything checked out fine. But, they "found" something else. The baby was growing out of the regular range, which could have been a sign of gestational diabetes, but thankfully everything was a- OK. The office was always full whenever I had an appointment, for which I would have to wait a minimum of 30 minutes. The techs were great but some of the doctors here need to work on their bedside manner.

She was very friendly and explained everything to me. I waited only about 10 minutes before the tech, Scott, called me back. He was friendly and explained the test they were going to do and how it would work and really made me feel comfortable. Once the doctor came in, Dr. Griffith, she asked if I had anymore questions or wanted things explained again. When I said no,she even told me that if I remembered something or a question came up during the procedure to interrupt her and she'll answer it. It was very refreshing that the doctor actually took the time to make sure I understood what was going on and made sure I really didn't have any questions. The procedure itself was pretty painful, but Dr. Griffith and Scott were very supportive and helped me deal with it without making me feel like a wimp. Dr. Griffith was actually performing it, but Scott was by my side the whole time and reminded me to breathe and rubbed my arm, not in a creepy, weird way, but in a caring and supportive way. The actual test sucked, but they made a not so great experience bearable and for that I'm very grateful.

Once you enter and check in, they tell you to have a seat and fill out paperwork. They call you, introduce themselves and tell you where to go and change. When it's time to enter the scanning room, it's sorta erie. To be honest - the process is slightly uncomfortable, but I try to focus on good thoughts and and maintain proper perspective. The scanning takes about 10 minutes. Typically, you tell them who your Primary Doctor or Obgyn is and they send the results to them. Then you're supposed to check back with your primary care or obgyn doctor to discuss the test results. I never do that step because I forget. They will mail the results directly to you within 1 month of the appointment so you can get results that way as well. Service at the check-in counter is sort of chaotic or hit or miss. - 2 stars In my personal opinion, I felt as though the overall attitude of professionalism has a lot of room for improvement. I got the sense some of the ladies were either not quite awake, bored, or lacking enthusiasm in their job and did not want to be be there. Not super welcoming. I felt like a number because they lacked warmth and hospitality. Smiles go a very long way during a medical appointment that causes many people anxiety. Nevertheless, stay on top of those mammograms! Encourage a friend to stay on top of theirs! Go with a friend or relative if they're sorta anxious about going by themselves. Schedule an appointment the same week or day with a friend to keep each other accountable. Once you get into the routine, it's completely doable.

I had two appointments here and while my actual care was very, very good, I would say that the pre-appointment information and scheduling is quite lacking so I came in both times not really knowing what to expect. I was absolutely crushed when I found out at my 20 week appointment that they allowed a support person in the room for the screening -- something that I normally wouldn't really care about but honestly giving birth during COVID times can be quite lonely so I would have really appreciated a heads up so my husband would be able to experience seeing our baby for the first time together. The person who screened me was a traveling nurse (she mentioned they were pretty short staffed) and really took the time to answer my questions, go through the ultrasound together, explain what they were looking for, and was nice enough to print some images to take home. Actual time with the doctor was pretty quick but I guess that was a good thing. Overall I had a good experience and would recommend getting genetic testing done here.

For the past several months , we have been actively trying to move forward with a necessary treatment. What should have been a straightforward process has turned into a drawn-out, exhausting ordeal marked by incompetence, poor communication, and a complete lack of accountability. To start, they lost our medical records (a fundamental failure for any healthcare provider). This alone caused delays, but it was only the beginning. When attempting to resolve the issue, I was met with rude and dismissive behavior from reception staff, including being yelled at and, on multiple occasions, given information that later proved to be outright false. It is deeply concerning to be treated this way when advocating for necessary medical care. The internal coordination appears equally broken. At one point, the doctor failed to submit his notes , further delaying treatment with no proactive follow-up or acknowledgment. Meanwhile, I have been repeatedly promised callbacks that never happen . Each time I follow up, I am met with excuses or forced to restart the explanation of our situation from scratch. I have escalated this issue multiple times to supervisors, yet nothing meaningfully changes. The pattern remains the same: poor communication, missed responsibilities, and zero ownership of mistakes. At this stage, I am left with no confidence in this organization's ability to provide safe or reliable care. My next steps will be to formally escalate this beyond the practice: * Filing a complaint with Inova Schar , as their association with Fairfax Vascular Center reflects poorly on their reputation and standards of care * Submitting formal complaints to the Virginia Board of Medicine , which oversees physician conduct and professional standards * Reporting the administrative and patient care failures to the Virginia Department of Health Professions, which regulates healthcare facilities and licensing * Considering a complaint with the Joint Commission , which accredits healthcare organizations and investigates quality-of-care concerns Patients deserve competent, respectful, and responsive care--especially when dealing with serious medical conditions. Unfortunately, Fairfax Vascular Center has demonstrated the opposite at nearly every step. I strongly urge others to think carefully before entrusting them with your care. Note: I have escalated this within their office and have only been lectured how they are not responsible for any of the failures. So, when you see them respond on Yelp with a response that says "we are so sorry; please do call us" please do know that this is completely their marketing hype. They don't care and guess what? I do - no way will I let this go.

This created unnecessary distress and confusion. With an active authorization in place, being asked to sign a document that appears to shift full financial liability to the patient--at the last minute--felt like pressure rather than informed consent. I contacted my insurance, and they advised me not to sign such a waiver because it could effectively waive insurance benefits for an authorized service. I'm sharing this so other patients coming for expensive imaging understand that they need to confirm coverage directly with their insurer and ask exactly what they are being asked to sign and why. I would strongly encourage Fairfax Radiology to improve their financial consent workflow for pre-authorized exams so patients are not put in this position right before a medically important study.
