The "milk" that I poured down the sink after taking a big ol swig of it.
    Charles C.

My experience here was a mixed bag. On one hand, the room was very nice clean (for the most part), and the pool and other facilities seemed very nice and very well kept. The shower in the room was pretty impressive. The "breakfast", however, was horrifyingly awful. I mean, what's the point if you're not gonna put any effort into it whatsoever? Their fruit offering was either a couple of bananas or a couple of apples. There was no mixture there was no variety. They had a metric ton of oatmeal and stuff for oatmeal so I hope you like oatmeal! They did have a waffle maker and the stuff to go with that. The coffee, the two or three times I tried to get it was either empty or the coffee was cold. They had small little, semi frozen quiches, and those are OK. They have scrambled eggs and a meat item, and those were OK sometimes. I grabbed one of the little cartons of milk to take back to my room. I went to drink it that night and when I pulled it out of the refrigerator, which was cool, it had curdled and had gone bad. There's a picture of me pouring it down the sink and what it look like. Also, I found these small liquor bottles in the bathroom stuffed in the Kleenex box. That was weird. The place was OK, if you don't give a crap about the breakfast.

Very clean modern hotel centrally located in a nice restaurant, food, and grocery store area. We booked online and were happy we decided to stay here when we saw the new building and clean lobby interrior. The parking lot was well lit and had ample parking for cars. They provide carts for luggage inside to transport bags from your car to your room. The check in process was a breeze while just providing my ID card and form of payment. The staff was nice greeting me upon entering in and observed quite of few workers cleaning to maintain the cleanliness of the Hotel. Inside the lobby area they have nice couches and tables where you see people on their laptops and computers handling work or surfing the web. They also have business computers to use and a printer if you need to print something out. The room we had was very nice with 2 beds and comfortable blankets and pillows. It has fast wifi to use as well and a small refrigerator and microwave. The shower area was beautiful with great big bathtubs and the flow of water was magnificent! They provided shampoo, conditioner, and lotion to use as well with plenty of towels and washcloths. Having a nice size TV was a plus and I even enjoyed a great pool view from the room. The next morning after a refreshing night sleep we walked into the lobby area where we had complimentary free breakfast and enjoyed some coffee. Outside in the back they have really nice patio furniture to lounge in and chat and mingle with pool views. Overall nice hotel and area to stay in and conveniently located off the freeway to give you that quick head start the next morning to get back in the road.

This hotel is terrible, because we found bedbug during ourstay. we checked in the hotel on Nov 23 2022, the room number is 323.we foundmany bedbugs 2 am of Nov 24 during our sleeping. We have reported this issue to the clerk Beeky at the front desk, she suggested us to send an emailto Trace, the manager of the hotel  regarding this issue together with bedbug photos we took in the room and request full refund and compensation on the lost.Morning of Nov 24, I got a phone call from Tracy, she told me the bug I showedher is not bed bug, but lady bug. I can not agree with her, so I contacteda pest control company after I returned to my home city. The owner of thecompany told me the picture I showed him is bedbug. and my family doctor alsotold me the red bumps are bed bug bites.

Came back to this BEWARE THEY DON'T CLEAN ROOMS BUT DON'T SAY THAT WHEN YOU CHECK IN

Whoever owns this hotel needs to sell it and give it to someone who cares about the quality of the guest experience! I travel week in and week out around the entire country and I have not seen a front desk associate so disengaged and who could care less about the experience of guest! I specifically asked for service only to come back to the room after a long day to a dirty room . It only makes me believe that they do not clean this hotel period! As if it wasn't enough when I checked into the hotel yesterday to a room that had no mattress covers for soiled mattresses but I still have it a chance. Only to come back to them leaving towels but not taking the trash out, not taking the dirty towels and not cleaning period! Only for Tracey to say when she didn't say it when I checked it ohhh you're not here long enough and we don't clean everyday! Tracey was rude and dismissive! Guests don't expect a lot but they do expect to be communicated to! I used to think so highly of Marriott before this experience and I specifically chose this location because it wA convenient and a Marriott! Again sooooo unacceptable! This Fairfield by Marriott in Alexandria MUST DO BETTER! Came back to this BEWARE THEY DON'T CLEAN ROOMS BUT DON'T SAY THAT WHEN YOU CHECK IN

    Wonderful Shower Architecture.

FOOD: Wonderful Breakfast Buffet with everything you could want. Three coffee blends. All coffee sweeteners made. Soy, and milk real cream. Self-serve waffle maker (could use two, had waiting lines). Pre-made oatmeal or packets, with . Three types of eggs--boiled, fried, and scrambled. Excellent hash potatoes. Nine breads/muffins. Labels need improvement. Eggs were mis-labeled "Cheese Omelet". The next day the same two different dishes were labeled opposite names. Both turkey sausage and pork sausage. Both tasted ok, but BEWARE -- need to confirm if needed for health reasons: their labels were reversed from one morning to the next; mysteriously no grease in either sausage pan. RESERVATIONS: When checking in, took too long -- they had to scramble to find all the rooms we reserved--ended up with the party on three separate floors, barely. ARCHITECTURE: Best shower configuration ever--tiled up to the ceiling, bright white easy to see, floor-to-ceiling glass wall on half the shower front wall. Room was very quiet -- good noise mitigation in walls. No good mirror with bright light. SECURITY/SUPERVISION: Swimming pool was too small for the number of guests or guests of Fairfield guests. Allowing food around the pool--spilled ice cream dropped by unsupervised kids was accident waiting to happen. EMPLOYEES: So friendly!

The hotel looks really nice and modern! My room was clean with all of the basic amenities I expected (microwave, fridge, fast WiFi). There's also free breakfast, gym, and a swimming pool, and free parking. The beds are clean and comfy, and I had no trouble going to sleep. This hotel is located near many restaurants and shopping stores so that's a big plus.

Really nice pool ... lit up nicely at night.

Loved this hotel! We originally booked at a different hotel, but switched and book here because of how nice the rooms and staff were.

This is a solid choice if you are in Alexandria…read more For the last year and a half or so I have had to travel to Alexandria for work. I have been staying at Holiday Inn and Holiday Inn Express but after a few issues at HIE, I decided to give Hampton a try. The good: My room was clean and comfortable and check-in was easy. The free breakfast in the morning was good as free breakfasts come. There appeared to be some sort of evening reception with drinks and snacks but I didn't get to participate. The hotel was also reasonably quiet which was impressive considering how close it was to 49. The rest: My room was set to 78 when I arrived. 78 is way too warm for a hotel room. This was probably some sort of cost-saving thing but I like my rooms as cold as humanly possible. It got that cold but it took a while. The hotel is kind of far from the city center which is where the restaurants and my work is. It's kind of far for Alex which means a 10-15 minute ride depending on traffic. Where I normally stayed was less than five minutes but all in all, it really wasn't that bad. Would I stay here again? Absolutely. I still prefer the HI downtown since it is more of a full service hotel (it has a bar) and is closer to my work, but I would definitely keep Hampton on your list.

There were numerous occasions where customers walking through the lobby weren't wearing masks and weren't asked to put them on. The other gripe is, I don't think the cleaning crew are doing a very good job of cleaning the rooms. There were boogers on the walls/doors in the bathroom and hallway. I was scared to pay closer attention anywhere else in the room because of what I might find. Overall, 3 stars for location and friendly staff, but please work on cleaning the rooms better...

The check in process was super quick and we were given complimentary bottles of water. The room was modern and most importantly very clean. Everything worked and nothing was falling apart. There was a sofa bed that my sister slept on and a curtain for privacy at night between mine and my husband's bed and her sofa bed. There was a kitchenette that had everything from a fridge to a dishwasher. The kitchenette was stocked with dishes and silverware. There was also an indoor pool which was a big plus with a 2 year old. The water was a bit cold, but we managed. There are 2 things that caused me to take one star away. 1. The bathroom door- the bathroom door was a sliding door that did not lock. It did not secure in a way that allowed for complete privacy which makes it awkward when staying in a room with other people. 2. Breakfast- We were given times for the hot breakfast. We went down stairs expecting hot food like scrambled eggs, breakfast meat, stuff like that. My son loves breakfast so I thought this would be perfect. There were frozen omelets and a frozen English muffin sandwich to put in the microwave. Apparently this was the hot breakfast. My son did not eat. Overall I would definitely stay here again.

This is not a plus property so set your expectations correctly if you plan to stay here. No…read morebreakfast or any of the other amenities you'd receive at a plus property. But the price is quite a bit lower than the plus BWs so no stars off for that. There were a LOT of sketchy people milling around..... I wonder how many car prowls and breakins they have here. Just one employee that I could see so even if they have cameras all over the place (I saw none outside) there's no way the desk clerk would have time to monitor them. The room was fine. Comfortable and well appointed. No complaints. There is some major repairs (or demolition) going on...... I probably wouldn't stay here again but unless you are fussy about upscale stays this motel is fine if all you need is a place to spend the night. There is a pretty decent 24 hour restaurant across the parking lot.

I booked this hotel through the app based on the listed policies, which clearly stated a $50…read moredeposit. At no point during booking, in the confirmation email, or anywhere on the listing was there any mention of a $250 cash deposit requirement for local guests. I was only informed of this policy after arriving and attempting to check in. Because of this undisclosed policy, I had to cancel my reservation on the spot and am now waiting for $107 to be refunded back to my account. For many people, having over $100 tied up unexpectedly is a serious inconvenience. What makes this even more frustrating is that I have stayed at 4-star hotels in New Orleans that charged significantly less for both the room and incidental deposit than this property. Charging a $250 deposit on an $88 room is excessive, especially when that information is not disclosed upfront before payment is taken. I understand hotels have the right to create policies for local guests, but those policies should be clearly and transparently listed before someone books and travels to the property. Springing a major undisclosed charge on guests at check-in is unacceptable customer service. As the widow of an Air Force veteran, and the daughter and granddaughter of veterans, I have traveled extensively and stayed in many hotels over the years. I have never encountered a situation where a deposit policy of this size was completely omitted from the booking information and only revealed after arrival. I strongly encourage future guests -- especially locals -- to call the property directly before booking and ask specifically whether there are additional local-resident deposits not shown online.
