The hotel itself is nice, with very friendly and helpful staff who make you feel welcome. The free breakfast is a big plus, with a decent variety of options to start the day. Rooms are clean and comfortable, so the stay itself is pleasant. The main drawback for me was the location -- the immediate area isn't the best, and I wouldn't feel comfortable walking alone at night. It's about a 15-minute walk to find restaurants and some downtown life, and the closest subway station is around 17-20 minutes away. If you don't have a car, it's not the most convenient spot. So I stay at this hotel cause I gotta spend the night due to a canceled flight. Reason I stay there specifically is because they guaranteed me a shuttle to the airport the next day. Of course the next morning is a total cluster **** and I they don't provide the shuttle service they promised. There's no manager to be seen. I have to pay for a Lyft. So I write an email to complain and request compensation. They're like "We can add points to your stay to cover the cost of the Lyft, and add a few additional points for the inconvenience". So they give me 2,000 points which is worth $25. My Lyft cost $23. So for my inconvenience they basically gave me $2. WOW. So that's what you're worth to the Fairfield Inn New York LaGuardia - You're worth about as much as a two dollar whore on 7th Ave in the '70s. If this was in person they would've crumpled it up, threw it on the ground, and make me grovel for it. read more

The Fairfield Inn is less than 2 miles from the LGA airport. It's perfect for quick layovers! They have their own airport shuttle which is very rare in NYC! The rooms are clean and a friendly staff. They have a free breakfast in the A.M. that included eggs, bagels, sausage, oatmeal, cereal, and fruit It was perfect for us after arriving on a delayed flight from DFW. Located in Queens. Clean, friendly, has parking - and about a ten minute drive from LGA. Whenever I travel to the NYC area to see friends and family, I am constantly looking for good places to stay. This is one of them and I'm pleased to have found it. The Fairfield Inn is part of the Marriott system and so Marriott Bonvoy members can use their points to pay for the room. My most recent visit was in May 2023. The room was small but comfortable. It had all the essentials. The furniture was modest but clean - not beat up, which I really like. The bed was comfortable. The Hvac system worked well. As I'm sometimes on the road for a number of days, in multiple hotels, I am delighted when I can feel comfortable and settle in to a room for 24 hours and just chill. The hotel has food for sale in the lobby, offers some exercise equipment and breakfast. I felt it was a good value for the money. read more

This is a excellent choice hotel for when staying in NYC and flying into LaGuardia airport. Fairfield is the reason I continue to stay only at Mariott properties. It's quiet, clean, comfortable and the staff is courteous. The property offers airport shuttle service from LaGuardia which is a easy 5 minute drive. The driver was excellent with pick up from the transit center at LGA. Just follow the signs to hotel shuttles. They also offer on site parking to make life easy. Whenever I called the front desk with questions or requests they were eager to please and immediately addressed my needs. Kudos to the team here. Upon check-in I was offered fresh cookies and received excellent service. Checking out was a breeze as well. I had the best sleep here because the Fairfield Inn Marriott invests in their guests and offers plush mattresses and pillows. This location was super quiet also. I did not hear a peep throughout the night. The mattresses at Marriott always feel like a cloud. My room was located on the 1st floor and was immaculately clean. The bathroom shower has the best water pressure with the rainfall shower head. The Alice & Co bath products were eucalyptus and lavender scented which also made for a relaxing sleep. I slept so cool and comfortable last night. I was able to easily pair my tv to my iphone to enjoy my music and other streaming platforms. There were plenty of options for healthy dinner choices in the area who delivered within minutes. Make this your choice when visiting Queens or flying into LaGuardia . read more

Very nice property, there are many great residential neighborhoods that you can walk too. If you type "Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church" into Google Maps it will take you to a neighborhood about 10 minutes away walking. If you type "Saint Joseph's Roman Catholic Church in Astoria Queens" or "Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church Astoria Queens" it will take you into a neighborhood with restaurants etc.. Nice breakfast with veggie meat. Wi-Fi worked well, and the room had coffee. read more

Overall Score: 3.5 Stars This Fairfield Inn is located near LaGuardia Airport. They will pick you up from LaGuardia if you call the hotel, a good free service. The driver was friendly and courteous. They will also take you to and from the subway station (N and Q lines), again you need to call when you are at the station and would like to be picked-up. The hotel is about a mile from the train station. Breakfast was good. The breakfast area was very busy. Allow a little extra time. There is plenty of shopping and good restaurants on Ditmars Ave., a few blocks from the hotel. Ditmars is not a tourist area, it is where locals shop and eat. Storytime: In my search to find a hotel to stay at during a 24-hour turnaround in New York City, I searched a booking engine/portal and selected only hotels with an airport shuttle. Once I landed at JFK, I called the hotel, and they told me that they go to Laguardia only. My mistake. I'm sure I am not the first non-New Yorker that has made mistakes involving the three airports that serve the city. So, Metrocard in hand, on the bus I go. The problem is that this hotel isn't anywhere near the bus stop in Queens. So off the bus, I go. And after a 30-minute walk, at the hotel I stop. The hotel wasn't ready for my early check-in, stating that no rooms were available, which is fair. Even though the app said I could check in already. So I gave them my information, including my credit card and ID, left my luggage there, and went to the subway train to make use of my time by visiting Manhattan. Unfortunately, even getting to the train was a 30-minute walk past a police department and a fire department, which probably meant it was a safer area than it looked. When I returned at 10 pm, they asked me to check in all over again and tried to find me a room. They said that there was one left. So in my room I crashed until my car arrived to take me to the airport at 5 am. Unfortunately, I was charged twice for the security deposit for both check-ins at the rate of ($150.00 x 2). I'm not sure why. There was no restaurant open here, no breakfast at the time I left, no bar to hang out in, and no mini-bar in the room to charge things to my card for. That left a wrong impression, as this hotel doesn't seem to have it together. Of the five lamps in my room, two had burned out bulbs. The television in the room kept stating "NO SIGNAL". Of the three hotels I stayed at in New York City, this was the worst one. The property appearance, service, policies, and procedures, were definitely the worst. read more

Older hotel that could use new carpet but It served the purpose, close to La Guardia, and we were bleary-eyed after flying in late. We made our reservation months ago knowing we needed a quick stop prior to our Manhattan vacation. Fairfield sends an airport shuttle to pick guests up, a super nice service! Friendly check in, but the pitiful small water they hand you for being a Bonvoy member is laughable at $230, a full bottle of water would be fab. We really appreciated the timely shuttle service and the spread of complementary breakfast items the following morning. read more

FRAUDULENT CHARGES: If you're looking for a review of the physical place I cannot comment as I did not stay here but if you are interested in the service I received then please continue. I travel for work and was dispatched to this area and made a reservation sometime before noon. A couple hours later plans changed and I was no longer going to New York for the work trip. So the website states "Please note that we will assess a fee of 135 USD if you must cancel," not a problem. On my credit card statement I was charged the $135 as well as a $149 and a $289 charge. I called the hotel after everything processed and they were able to get the $289 refunded to me, this was a charge for staying 2 nights with them. Apparently if you are not physically in the state then the hotel can still check you in without your consent. So I received that refund and then I requested a receipt for the $135 cancellation fee, this took over a month to receive after many calls talking to staff and the manager, Christine. After receiving my receipt for the $135 then I asked to be reimbursed for the $149 charge and they said they would look into it. Another couple of weeks of dealing with this location over the phone and I get ahold of the general manager who never provided his name but was very unhelpful and redirected me to Christine who "had a case open" for me. Finally get ahold of Christine again and she has no clue what the general manager was talking about and has no clue what this $149 charge is and couldn't help me, not until I mentioned getting our corporate lawyers involved with this did she actually start helping me, but help is a stretch. She proceeds to argue that the $149 is the cancellation fee and I requested a receipt for that and to be reimbursed for the $135 fee charged. She proceeds to argue that both of those fees are part of the cancellation fee, I said "I disagree with that as my cancellation states differently" she proceeds to start yelling though the phone and talking over me stating that "you don't have to agree with the policy, it is what it is. Go ahead and send this to your lawyers, we have everything in order on our end." So I ask, "if you have everything in order then why can't you provide a receipt?" Within seconds I receive a receipt explaining the $149 charge. Was that really that hard? Needless to say this hotel has been flagged by my company and none of our 100k+ employees will be staying here in the future. read more

I stayed for only one night, as my flight landed well after midnight and I didn't want the hassle of heading into the city until the morning. Though the driver who picked me up was incredibly rude, all the interior hotel staff were pleasant and helpful with directions. The hotel is clean and the bed was comfortable. There was quite a bit of noise outside the window around 3am (sounded like a garbage truck emptying a dumpster over and over), so if you're a light sleeper you may want to bring along some earplugs. This location is incredibly close to the airport, and has a free shuttle that will pick you up (service stops at 1am and resumes, I believe, at 6am). It'll also drop you off at the airport or at the nearby metro station if you're heading into the city. The breakfast, which is complimentary, was great for a Fairfield Inn. They offered the usual make-your-own-waffle station along with an assortment of breads, muffins, bagels, etc, plus fruit, eggs, sausage, cereal, juice, and milk. When I left, the woman at the front desk provided me with a subway map and directions into the city. read more

On April 2022, I purchased a Southwest vacation package and elected the Fairfield Inn New York LaGuardia Airport/Astoria hotel. The package include two nights and round trip flights for my husband & I. Several month I later I added an second room at the hotel via Booking.com. When we arrived and proceeded to check in on On Oct 7th, the manager, Adam Ramirez & another house desk associate claimed that they could not find my Southwest "paid" room reservation that I made through Southwest and only the Booking.com reservation. I explained to them that I called the hotel two days before arriving to confirm both reservations and was provided two reservations. As I attempted to provide to the reservation # to them they refused and said that I must pay for both rooms and that my reservations were not in their system. Hearing this news infuriated me. They were unprofessional and unwilling to listen to my concerns. It was as if they just want to dismiss me and move on to the next guests. Coming directly from the airport, and knowing that I prepaid for my room months in advance the manager, Adam simply said that I must reach out to Southwest and there was nothing he can do. I momentarily contacted via telephone Southwest customer service care. The Southwest agent understood my concerns and asked to place me on hold while he called the hotel. From the distance, while holding on the phone with the Southwest agent I can clearly see and hear Adam speaking to the Southwest agent. All the while, he was speaking in a condensing tone as if I was completely confused. After 10 mins. the Southwest agent returned to the call with me and apologized for the inconvenience. He said that I should be ok now. I ask him what could I have done differently? He explained, absolutely nothing. They, the hotel reps, clearly didn't know how to handle your reservations. When I returned to the front desk, there was no apology from Adam except, here's your room key and you're all set. As if nothing happened! We decided to leave because the second room wasn't ready yet so when we arrived back hours later. The second crew must have arrived. A front desk rep name Janae addressed me. I asked for my key to my room that I already checked but clearly explained that it's my second room because it wasn't ready when we arrived earlier. She just handed a set of room keys for the same room. I explained to her again and she handed another set of keys for my same room. Hearing the conversation, another front desk person interrupted and gave me the right key. The overall service of these employees customer service skills are deplorable. When it comes to the needs of servicing their patrons, it non existing. My trip to New York will forever be a reminder for me never to stay at this establishment. As a stakeholder, this experience definitely influenced my decision on not holding these shares. read more

Our experience here was like no other. Darren is the kindest soul you will ever meet on the planet. He watched out for us like a big brother and provided us with the best customer service possible even though we weren't even staying at this hotel (we ended up at the wrong Fairfield Inn but he treated us just the same as any other customer in the hotel). He gave us water and helped us get to the correct Fairfield Inn hotel. We need more people like Darren in the world; he is the kind of worker, citizen, and human being that we should all aspire to be. I am so thankful I was able to have this experience at this Fairfield Inn even though we weren't staying the night at this one. I chose this hotel for a few reasons. It was close to the airport, a few miles to the port of Manhattan, and the rewards program. It was better than I was expecting. The rooms are small, but there is enough room to move around comfortably. We had a king bed on the 1st floor almost directly in front of check in. I was worried about the noise level, but it was pretty quiet all evening. The only noise we heard were walking in room above us and some doors in the hallway. The hotel looks like it has been through a recent refurb. The bed was very comfortable. The bathroom was was showing some wear, but still good. The amenities, Paul Mitchell, were also good for hotel toiletries. The LGA airport shuttle is free, but be prepared to wait. Not a big deal, but I would find other transportation if you're in a hurry. The free breakfast is very good. There is something for everyone. Overall, this was a good one-night stay. It would have received 4 but the shower containers that hotels like to use now where they are attached to the wall of the shower were empty. No body wash. No shampoo. Very little conditioner. And you only find out once you're naked and wet. Then there's one little soap they leave by the sink that you have to reach as you wet the bathroom floor. On my way out I told the front desk and she said I could always come by the front desk for some. Not convenient when you're wet and naked when you find out. Stop being cheap. Refill the containers or leave the nice old fashioned soaps/bottles. The shower has no tub and no detachable sprayer either. The neighborhood is nice and walkable and it's close to la guardia w a shuttle service too. Exercise room has working equipment. Clean room. read more

If you want to be scammed by parking, come here. The Marriott website says this location offers free parking - this is not true. Upon parking, there were signs all over saying "unauthorized vehicles will be towed". Being a guest, we are obviously authorized to park there. Upon checking in, there was no mention to us that we needed to pay for parking by the associate working. It wasn't until the next morning that there was a boot on our car. When we asked what happened, the new associate working told us that "they were overbooked for parking and started to charge people" and that since we didn't pay, we got a boot. Wouldn't this have been nice to know upon arrival? $100 later (yes, $100!!) and we get the boot off by a Marriott associate, not even an outside towing company. Terrible service. I had to be in the New York City area for a family function over July 4th weekend. I didn't think I would be able to secure a room but the Fairfield came through for me with a nice, comfortable King size room at a reasonable price. The hotel is relatively new so the rooms and amenities are quite contemporary. My room was very clean and came with many conveniences including WiFi, complementary breakfast, microwave, refrigerator, toiletries, etc. There was plenty of hot water and the A/C worked nicely. There is a parking lot with in/out privileges for $30 but I was able to find ample street parking surrounding the hotel. It is in a great location, close to major highways and walking distance to a subway station. Although I didn't need it, there is also a complementary airport shuttle to LaGuardia. This will definitely be my go-to hotel whenever I am in the New York area. read more

We've stayed at this hotel numerous times, despite the higher cost and unglamorous state of the facility, strictly because of the parking. We've never been told there was "limited" parking or first come first serve until this weekend. Nowhere on the website is there a disclaimer about limited parking. On a previous stay, Maria was super helpful and considerate about a mixup in our reservations but the clerks we dealt with during this checkin were no Maria. Our clear disappointment was brushed off and these ladies could not have cared less about our frustration. The state of the hotel is in obvious need of renovation and the cost is generally higher than others in the area, without the bonus of parking it's truly not worthwhile to stay here again. This hotel has been the best experience I've had at an Sheraton family hotel. Location was very small but offered sooo much. For one the parking is Free!! That was such a surprise because a lot of hotels you have to pay for parking. Complimentary Hot breakfast is also included which is very rare but I'm not complaining. My room itself had a remote controller for the air conditioning unit so I didn't even have to get up. The tv is a smart tv. There were stains all over the carpets. The room was dark. The bed was uncomfortable and dirty, I was so disgusted by the conditions. Also the other hotel guests who were staying at this hotel were scary. When I first walked in to check in there were two people who looked like they were on drugs walking out, and a man in a cheap business suit that looked at me like he was going to follow me to my room. There can be little good said about the Fairfield Inn by LaGuardia. Cab drivers have no idea where it is. Every single one I had to direct back to the place. The breakfast is utterly lackluster and served in this room that makes you feel hopeless about life in general. It is magically near absolutely nothing. As if they ran analysis specifically to find a place in greater NYC that was near absolutely nothing. The hotel sits on the Freeway, heavy trucks are kind enough to drive by all night long. The loudest possible air con will keep you mildly comfortable. The bathrooms should be in the architectural digest episode on "Designing for ennui." Lights are specifically picked to make you look like a zombie. You do get some notoriety if you stay here. Joey at the front desk was amazing. He suggested Rizzos for great pizza. He sent us blankets in 5 minutes from asking. All of the staff here are doing a great job in terms of being prompt, friendly. You can even call from the station to have the shuttle pick you up too! People were nice there too. The town Astoria is a cute town. A parking lot that is unable to fit the cars of all of its guests. It's certainly not a hotel someone would look forward to staying in. That said, it does have a few bonuses. Free WiFi (yes, it's becoming more commonplace, but still is a bonus) Free parking (If you manage to nab a spot) It is within walking distance to the subway (if you're in shape enough to walk about 10 blocks) The room was clean, and I was allowed to check in early. i booked this place for my friends to stay over, I actually ended up crushing on floor after a few drinks too many at near by beer garden. Anyways, this hotel is located right next to GCP. Folks who's out of town, that's major highway. So be sure to ask fior a room facing opposite. Room size is what you'd expect in NYC, small. Very small, you go there to sleep before your long flight home or long night of drinking to recover. If you want romantic night book your self at W in manhattan. There's free shuttle to airport and subway stop which we all found very convinient. Gypsy cabs are also available. For this who complained that there's nothing near by, there are some nice cafes and bars near by, even walking distance. Also middle eastern street (steinway) is only 5 minutes walk - HOOKAH!! Only downside is it's near the fire house and police station, therefore depends on the night you may hear fire trucks running up and down the street. Stayed only one night. The room is a little cozy and the hotel is smaller than I thought it would be and in general could use some updating, but if you just need a place to stay, the location has some decent deals. The rooms are clean... a little rust in the bathroom never killed anyone right? The back view is a wall, the front has the street. There is free breakfast every morning until 9:30 I believe. The location is not exactly convenient, but the M60 bus runs from the subway station all night to near the hotel. The easiest way to get to this place is by shuttle. The shuttle leaves the hotel every half hour. You can call in for a pick up or go down to the lobby to leave. It goes to the Astoria Subway stop, and to LaGuardia Airport. read more

If it were in a better location, I'd give it a full 4-star rating. With all current things considered, they still earn a 3.5-star review. I've had family stay here twice this summer. The rooms (both two bed and one king) have always been clean, the air always works well, and each room came with a fridge and microwave without having to put in a special request! One king room is a bit small, though normal by NYC standards, and with a surprisingly sizable bathroom. Lobby is nice. Elevator is fine (not eye catching, though). And, most importantly, the front desk staff and shuttle operators are lovely. One of them even remembered my family (in a positive way ;-). The shuttles are decent. Comfortable seats. A bit worn down inside/on the upholstery....though much nicer than I was expecting. Comes in handy, as they will drop & pick up at the subway. The drivers have some lead feet. But you get back and forth quickly! The main caveat is that they're in a rather borderline-industrial area, with nothing around them, and where cabbies don't tend to be familiar. However, you can simply walk five blocks over to Steinway where there is everything! An the M60 drops a few blocks from the hotel in both directions. Yes, you'll still have to hike a few blocks. But you have to do that nearly everywhere in NYC. Baseline: not the place you want to stay if you're looking for a view and to be in the heart of things. But, if you're going to be staying in Queens, MUCH better than nearly all hotels around the Queensboro Plaza area/Long Island City/LGA, good fair price for what they offer, and comfortable/friendly to boot! read more

Great free breakfast in the morning. The staff go out of their way to make your stay enjoyable. Request a room in the back of the hotel. The front faces the expressway, so you get the occasional (just kidding, this is NY) honking. Not to many clean reliable places to eat nearby. It's a very cultural area. Mostly mediterranean and middle eastern restaurants, and too many hookah bars to count. Close to LGA, and about a $50 cab fare to JFK. I then spent the next hour trying to book hotels as they were all selling out fast. Delta was useless in helping me with this as a courtesy due to the flight cancellations. I finally booked this hotel and headed over as soon as I could. When I arrived, they didn't have any king beds left and most of the leftover rooms were underground. Then I noticed a card for a room on the 4th floor and they gave it to me :) All I can say is that the staff is really nice, and super helpful. The one thing they can improve on is better breakfast options as the holiday inn's breakfast puts this place to shame. read more

I know I'm in NY, and it's all about location, but really? I might be in the wrong business :) This place was clean and suited my purpose for this trip, which was to land, sleep, and get back to LGA to get a car and spend the day in LI.
