We stayed at the Fairfield for the last stop on our drive from San Jose CA to Vancouver BC. Although it would only have been another 4 hrs to be home, the location was the right place for us to stop for the evening after a day of 12-hr drive. The check-in team was extremely helpful, professional, and friendly. We were upgrade from a King room to a King suite due to our Bonvoy membership. The room was very well appointed and clean, as are the other facilities in the hotel, The hotel is located just off I-5 with a McDinald's, Subway, a brew pub, a Thai restaurant and a few others within walking distance in the same plaza. McDinald's is our go-to restaurant on tias trips so it worked out perfectly for us. On the drive south a few days earlier, we were having our first breakfast on the trip at the McDonald's next to the hotel. My husband pointed out that this was the hotel we had made a reservation for the stay on the way back. It was meant to be and fitting that we would have our last dinner of our road trip at the same place. read more

We paid around $100 for a two queen bedroom here as we passed through the area, and it was so worth it! The hotel was nicely kept and comfortable, with lots of options for the hotel soap/shampoo. Staff was friendly, parking was easy. We didn't have any of the cleanliness problems others have mentioned. The surrounding area seemed pretty cutesy, though to be honest we were only here for the night and didn't wander much. The best part was the free breakfast. Among our options were: - gluten free muffins - sausage gravy - pork sausage and turkey sausage - waffles and mini waffles - oatmeal - scrambled eggs and basic omelettes - hard boiled eggs - cereal, bagels, toast, tea, yogurt, pints of milk, fruits, etc I would definitely stay here again if I were going somewhere nearby, and I recommend it. read more

Nice hotel. Indoor pool. Nice exercise space. Great included breakfast. Nice staff. The only suggestion I have is to be clear on how housekeeping is done. When we checked in on the app, it specifically asked if we wanted housekeeping. We said yes. Then we didn't get housekeeping our first day. Spoke with the front desk. Apparently there's a schedule of when you get no housekeeping, "refresh" housekeeping (trash & towel" and full housekeeping. I understand staffing etc. but just let guests know in check-in what the housekeeping schedule is for their room. The housekeepers did a great job and were very nice. One more suggestion...some hooks on the wall. There's a short "hallway" into the room. Bathroom on one side. Big blank wall on the other. Hooks would be nice to hand jackets. In the Pacific Northwest, people people rain jackets, in addition to maybe another jacket. Small closet so they can't really go in there. Hook next to the closet so you could hand 1 jacket. All in all, a nice hotel. I'd go back. read more

In June and July we stayed in 7 hotels/motels/inns and this was by far the best. The staff was the most competent, sticking to COVID guidelines, and still friendly. The room actually seemed to have been properly cleaned prior to our renting of it. The food options were great considering the situation. Each place we stayed was trying to keep some semblance of their breakfast available, but this was the one with the most options and the cleanest looking area. They were also the most dog friendly of the places we stayed. Cheaper pet fee than several of the other places, and included a cute little welcome kit for our dog. I wish this had been one of our multi-night stays instead of being a one night en route. read more

I understand the COVID 19 restrictions but this is almost 100% a self serve hotel. The Bad: 1. Only one person in the gym at a time. You must sign up for 45 min at a time. It is plenty big for 2-3 people with social distancing considerations. 2. No hot food. There is eggs, drinks, pre-made sandwiches, muffins, coffee, etc. 3. There is no room service unless you request it. And it is only about 20%. They bring towels. 4. You have to make your own bed, get your own linens and towels from the front desk. (Just hire more workers!) The Good: 1. Front desk service. Everyone was great!, hard working and exceptionally clean. Constantly cleaning elevators, eating area, and lobby. 2. Nice, new feeling hotel close to JBLM. Surrounded by some good restaurants and staffed with friendly people. The rooms are comfortable and includes a desk on wheels - a nice touch for the business traveler. The breakfast surpasses the average hotel breakfast. Of particular note, I had oatmeal every day and it was consistently good. Too many hotels let their oatmeal get mushy and you lose the taste and texture that I want. In addition, they had a wide variety (8) of toppings plus cinnamon and some other shakers. Standard waffle makers were there but one day they had included prepackaged pearl sugar Belgian waffles on the hot bar which are delicious! The hot food always had scrambled eggs and three other things. Bacon seemed to be there every day I was there. One potential warning- I checked in on Sunday and had mentioned that I might shorten my 6 night stay to 5 so I could be closer to the airport the day I fly out. The next day, I set my new reservation at the airport and went down that evening to the front desk to shorten my stay. The staff member was very nice and helpful but told me that they had a policy that if you shorten your stay, there is a $50 charge which floored me. I had not been made aware of this policy and had never heard of anything like it. She was very courteous and made sure I knew before I was charged and invited me to speak to the manager the next day. When I talked to the operations manager, she took care of me immediately and thought the new policy was different than what I had been told. They promised to get everyone on the same page but when I checked again a couple of days later, it was clear that nothing had happened yet. Otherwise, very nice and pleasant. read more

Room was small, so upgraded to a king suite, only to find black hair on the bedding upon checking in (mine is blonde mind you). Black hairs also found in the shower, and staining on the bed linen. Shampoo provided looked as though it was already used. Not even an actual mini fridge (small) so you can barely fit anything in. Only microwave so no way to cook for long term stay. Breakfast is nothing special as selection is limited. And coffee tastes horrible. Staff appear to be friendly but gossip about others, guests when no ones in sight (overheard personal guest info, gossip while at elevator). Do yourself a favor and stay at another hotel in dupont as there's several other more nice accommadating places right within the same distance. read more

This is a newer hotel that is centrally located. Its right next door to a McDonalds, but you can also walk to the other restaurants nearby. The front desk allowed us to check in early, which I always appreciated. The rooms are pretty standard, However, I thought it was a bit tight. My husband and I had two large suitcases and golf clubs but there wasn't a closet we could hide one in. Pros: -The TV has an option to sign into one of you streaming accounts such as Netflix or Hulu, which I thought was pretty cool. -Free daily breakfast -Everything is fairly new Cons- I kept finding the same color and length hair in the room (not mine or my husbands)- on the pillow, on the shower wall, on a towel. I'm not one to complain about a hair or two, but when these auburn hairs kept showing up- it made me think twice about how well this room was really cleaned before we arrived. I would have complained, but I was only staying there for 1 night before checking into another hotel nearby. Overall, a nice hotel. read more

First of all I love Marriott. Was platinum for years. Front desk awesome- at least professional and ch Check in was a breeze . Breakfast staff awesome. That being said the morning after arrival found out shower plug did not stay up so water didn't drain. Okay. Put in a coffee cup lid and walaa! Drain plug stays up. I didn't put so not disturb on my door so maintenance would come in and fix; I reported to the front desk at about 630 in the morning. Came back at about 630 at night: room was refreshed beds were made-and the lid was still in the drain. Seriously? Does housekeeping not clean the tub? Worries me, alittle. If you look you will see a ring around the tub-prob where the water stacks up during a shower. Seriously Fairfield. FIX the plug and wash out your tubs. read more

Fairfield Inn in general are my last resort Marriott property for business travel. Every single one I've stayed at throughout North America has been run down and an overall unpleasant experience. I took a chance on this Dupont location (due to proximity), and I was pleasantly surprised. Great location next to highway, clean, friendly staff, the rooms don't smell moldy or have holes punched in the walls. The TV worked and the remote wasn't crusted with food oils. The service by the front desk was outstanding, the best in the Marriott chain of hotels. Especially by "Groovy Judy",the desk Manager for the day. She made sure that I got a room away from the noise of the road and no one living above me because I am a light sleeper. Marriott should be proud to have a person like her working for them. The king room was very nice and roomy. The breakfast was very good, warm eggs and bacon, hot oatmeal, good bagels and toast. I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel to anyone. I will start off with the only "semi" negative. It says on the website "Tacoma". This hotel is about ten miles past Tacoma. That doesn't sound like a lot, but when you're dealing with traffic on I-5, it can be quite awhile. However, I will say that it is SO worth it. Fairfield Inns are normally the most basic of the Marriott group. However, this one was anything but. First of all, the little community it is in, is so cute and has several little restaurants and shops near by (in addition to the McDonald's next door). The hotel itself is beautiful and is conveniently located just off I-5, but you don't hear the traffic or noise from it. The hotel is in beautiful condition. It is kept immaculate and the staff is very friendly and top notch. The room I stayed in, was perfect. It had a fridge, microwave, coffee maker. It had a great desk for me to work at. The TV was awesome with a guide. They even have internet TV if you have Netflix or Hulu. The beds were very comfortable. The restroom is a very nice size, with a great shower that had perfect water temperature. And they had a thermostat that had a "constant fan" button, which is one of the best features ever. The room was extremely quiet. I rarely heard noises above me or in the halls, until housekeeping started working around 9am the next morning. There is plenty of free parking. They also have free breakfast, pool, and great workout room, although I didn't utilize any of that during my stay. Considering all things are the same, I would definitely stay here again the next time my travels take me to the Seattle-Tacoma area. read more

We had a great stay! My husband was in the area on business and we needed an early check in and late check out, the hotel staff was very accommodating. The hotel is new and so clean and well kept. Our room was on the 4th floor near the elevator, but this hotel is built so well we could not hear the elevator or I-5 which the hotel is near. The room was perfect. Sink inside the bathroom, as I prefer. All the amenities you need as well. The most comfortable beds too! I had a great nights sleep! You know how some hotels have the noisy heating and cooling units under the window? There was one here too, but so quite! The complimentary breakfast was amazing. I could not believe the options! They even had gluten free items and almond milk! I was in need of staying in the hotel past check out and I was very comfortable in the lobby with complimentary coffee and tea.
