So keeping in mind that this is a budget Marriott and not a Courtyard. The place looks great. Right on the beach. Lobby is modern. Good seating. Friendly staff. Great first start to the visit. Going up to room felt the same. Everything looked fresh and modern. Then the bed. I've stayed at other Fairfield's and the beds have been fine. I guess mine was worn out. Very firm. Pillows were worn out and flat. I was there for 2 nights. I don't think I could have done a week without getting new pillows to try. Free breakfast which seems to rotate. One day had eggs (from liquid for sure) with something that tasted like sausage. Next day was prepackaged egg sandwiches (terrible) and prepackaged waffles (good). They have cereal and yogurt and breads as well. And the coffee was good. So kind of hit or miss but for free? Not bad. Also, no lobby bar but they do have beer and wine to purchase at really reasonable prices for a hotel. Now, the price. It was great! So for the budget price, I'd say it's not a bad place at all! But I recommend looking a couple hotels down and checking out the Courtyard as well. read more

I was visiting town so I booked a double bed room with couch sofa for me and my family. Parking is in the garage/ground level with elevators access to the front desk for check on the 1st floor. Any other floor would require keycard access. There's a outdoor 5ft pool and a walkway to the fort Walton beach. Pool towels can be requested at the front desk. Check in and check out was a breeze. Free parking (get a parking placard from front desk), free wifi, free continental breakfast, and on site gym. My room has beachfront view which was amazing. Room was clean, modern and spacious. I would definitely recommend and utilize this hotel if I visit fort Walton again. Hotel staff was super friendly and helpful. Breakfast had alot of option and variety which me and my family all enjoyed. read more

We stayed here for a weekend. The hotel is located on Okaloosa Island. There are some great dinner and drink options located a short drive away on the boardwalk. It appeared to be a newer hotel and was well kept on the inside and out. The hotel is beachfront, you walk out the back door and over a short wooden walkway and you are on the coast. Our room was a regular double with a view of the parking lot. If you want a view of the ocean, be sure to ask for it ahead of time. The website gives you oceanview room as an option for a fee. The room had a small fridge, microwave and a coffee maker. The free hot breakfast was good. The breakfast attendant kept all items stocked and was very friendly. The hotel is partially located over its parking lot, so you can't drive up and check in like you would at other locations. Parking is free. read more

Incredibly disappointing! This place is very old, smelly, and run down. Hallways have trash and the walls are dirty and all scuffed up.. Floor is so badly stained, no telling what the original color was. The stink is covered up with a very strong, very cheap perfume. It makes your eyes burn! Furniture are stained and broken. Everything is run down and nasty. The bath towels are small, very thin, they feel like sand paper and scrape off your skin. The couch in our room was NASTY! So many different, questionable stains, absolutely disgusting. The mattress on the bed is uncomfortable and lumpy. The sheets are thin and stained. No housekeeping. Absolutely never again!! Need a shot of antibiotics after staying at that place. read more

Amazing service! Spent a weekend at this hotel to visit family in the area. The front desk was very helpful and nice. The maids are attentive to anything you may need during your stay. The hotel is very clean and they have breakfast in the morning. My favorite part of the hotel is they offer hot cocoa in the evenings and the TVs have access to Netflix if you have your own personal account. Great location with beach access. Hotel will not let locals rent a room. Made a reservation in January for a March stay b/c we were attending a wedding nearby and thought it would be nice to stay over on the beach for the night. They called 4 days prior (during Spring Break) to let me know they would not rent to me b/c I am a local. ZERO logic. I could be a 20 year old spring breaker as long as I am from out of town, then it's ok BUT not an older member of the area just looking for a nice night away with her spouse. I called the Marriott customer service number, the lady was floored, had never heard of such thing in 11 years she had worked for Marriott. She called the hotel but they refused to change their policy. Her advice was to not give them any business. So that is my advice as well Do not give them your business. We have a large military community and they if they can't support our community then I don't want to support them. The Courtyard just a few hotels down was very nice, clean and polite with beach access. I recommend them. read more

Great Marriott located right on the beach in Fort Walton, FL. Stayed here one night before renting a local beach house for a much needed long vacation. The venue for this Inn is excellent. This place is very nice. My room is like a studio apartment very clean full length couch and amazing view. My view overlooks the pool looks right into the beach which is basically 50 tards from my. window. The breakfast is decent it will kill hunger but nothing to write home about. You may be confused at first when you pull up because the first floor is actually the second floor it is on stilts. Because of the potential flooding. All in all very satisfied. read more

Amazing location, right on the white sandy beach! The staff were all super helpful and friendly, the rooms clean, and a welcoming lobby with plenty of seating as well as a little store stocked with essentials. The breakfast buffet was perfect, with many options; waffles, breads, bagels, omelettes, scrambled eggs, hardboiled eggs, breakfast meats, assorted fruits, cereals, oatmeal, and beverages. The pool was warm and has plenty of shallow area for little ones. The beach was beautiful and we had plenty of space to ourselves. Great place to stay! read more

I stayed at the Fairfield Inn & Suites during a 15-day business trip recently. The facility is nice and maintained well by the pleasant staff. Upon checking in we were greeted by fresh baked cookies and an extreme welcome from the lady checking us in. The facility is located in close proximity to restaurants and beach shopping, the destination Destin is also only a 5-minute drive away. This location is perfect for people who want to enjoy the excitement, but be far enough away to get a good nights rest. Each morning, the hotel also provides a large selection for breakfast, which is included with the price of the room. The staff is also very accommodating for requests or special needs. The pool is small, but nice because the hotel maintains an over 80 degree temperature so it can be enjoyed all year around. The hotel is also updating their beach access dock. read more

We arrived in Fort Walton and originally were at the Wyndham fort walton.. that hotel was terrible. We moved to this hotel just three buildings down the road and WHAT a difference. They matched the price we were paying AND added complimentary breakfast. We needed an early check in and a late check out and Carlos was the man! He was amazing at helping us so our vacation wasn't wasted on changing rooms. A shout out to Sammy also at the front desk, she helped us with Resturant's and was so awesome. Everyone was really friendly, from the cleaning staff, breakfast staff and reservation desk. Our room was clean, they offered fresh towels and whatever we needed daily. We couldn't have had a better stay!! I even asked Sammy about getting a job with Marriott since our trip here was so awesome! The beach in Destin is the whitest sand and bluest water. If I could offer one suggestion it would be to update the pool chairs, but who needs a pool with that beach! Brand spanking new hotel that just opened in the past two weeks. I am a Marriott rewards member and often use Fairfield hotels for business so I pretty much have noticed the great features of these hotels as well as where they can improve. When focusing my review on this particular hotel, it is right on the beach so for the great price I got on line with an ocean view I would give this hotel five stars. Their is a great big screen HD LG tv in the room; very comfortable bed; very modern furniture with office desk; refrigerator and microwave; and the room is spacious enough to maneuver with bumping into things. An interesting fact is that the room comes with a copy of the Holy Bible and The Book of Mormons. They hired excellent staff that are very friendly and went out of their way to assist is and checked us in even though we were early. The free breakfast is always a plus and the hot food changes daily. The one concern I have with Fairfield hotels in general is that the walls are very thin so you can hear conversations in the room next door. We had very loud talking neighbor so when we were in the room we turned on or tv to drown the sound. One specific concern I have with this specific hotel is that the elevator is in the parking lot - this is very convenient to come in from the beach or loading your car but they should have card readers to open the elevator or it should only go to the lobby floor without a card. Without the security feature anyone can come off the street and access all the floors without the front desk even noticing. The hotel is located in a very safe area so this may not have been taken into consideration for now. Overall it is a great hotel for a reasonable price for being right on the beach and I will definitely return again. read more

Instead of stressing out because we had to move rooms on our wedding day due some online scheduling conflicts during the busy season she moved around some things and got us into the same room for our entire stay. They also let us check in early which really helped us with our schedule. The room was clean and the hotel is secure only allowing hotel guests up to the room floors. This hotel is family friendly and has quick access the beach. Plenty of close parking and friendly hotel staff. We plan on staying here every time we visit. read more

I'm a platinum member and have been for years. This was the worst stay I've ever had. I called ahead to tell them I needed two queens and not a king. They lady that helped me was amazing. When we arrived they had switched me back to a king me and 4 kids had to cram into 1 bed. Thank god I had a crib I stuck my 2 and 4 year old in. They didn't have extra pillows/pull aways nothing. They didn't even recognize my status offer points or per policy if they can't accommodate me put us in another hotel and 90k points. I will never stay her again and recommend anyone with status stay away from this place. read more

Great clean hotel with beach access and a heated pool. The rooms are nice and the staff is friendly. The free breakfast is also decent. Some drawbacks to keep in mind: the mini-fridge is just a fridge, no freezer. So do not expect to keep frozen dinners. Also the gym is clean but small... there is a rack of free weights, 3 cardio machines, and a bench, that's it. Note to military... ocean views NOT available at the per Diem rate. The customer service is always great and this is my hotel of choice every time I'm in the Fort Walton Beach/Destin area. We checked in and found plastic bottles stuffed underneath the lip of the bed. A crazy amount of noise like a herd of elephants and when we told the staff, if you could find one at the front desk nothing was done. The staff just didn't seem to care, very disappointed. The only great thing was the access to the beach that is it. I would not recommend staying here. Definitely going back to Hilton brand hotels. read more

When we checked in they told us breakfast was till 10, the in room booklet said till 11 on Sat but I saw a family of 4 come down at 9:15 and they were told breakfast is over at 9:00 Staff were polite and pleasant but did by appear to be very experienced in dealing with some questions Parking- crap shoot. Some spots are generous and quite a few others designed for a Segway Access to beach is slightly torturous and there's no hotel beach towels. read more

Very clean rooms. Great view of the ocean on the end rooms. No balcony. There is only one outlet in the bathroom. The outlet is across the room behind the toilet. This makes it impossible to use a dryer or flat/curling iron in front of the mirror. Not sure if this is the case in all rooms but because we wanted a room with sofa so we had to take a handicap room. Not much light in each room. Room has a small fridge and microwave. If you are using points make sure this is straitened out before arriving. We told them we would be using points when we booked. When we arrived they said we had to call Marriott to apply points. After using about an hour of our vacation time going back and forth with the rewards dept. and hotel they finally got it settled. The hotel told us we could not use points for a beach view room. This is not what was told to us when making the reservations. read more

This little hotel is a jewel! We escaped SW Florida because of Hurricane Irma on 9/7/17 and fled for the Florida Panhandle with no reservation. On the way, got a reservation for the Fairfield Inn for two nights. We ended up staying 6 days at this very comfortable hotel. The rooms are large and super clean, the beds comfortable and the staff are extreamly polite and helpful. I consider myself an expert in this field as I used to travel for a living and basically lived out of hotels. The breakfast they serve in the morning is quite good and whatever coffee they serve is fantastic. The hotel is right on the beach as is the pool. Parking is very accessible and very close to the elevator. Of course, this isn't a 5 star resort but it's not $400/night either so anyone with any tickey tack complaints should re-think their position. For $145/ night this little jewel on the beach is batting way over their average meaning, the average small hotel. STAY HERE AND MAKE IT YOUR FIRST CHOICE!! YOU WONT BE DISAPPOINTED!!!!!! read more

The noise level during the day made it difficult to enjoy lounging by the pool or on the beach directly in front of the hotel. If only the beds were not as hard as rocks and breakfast served later for us lazy bones, it would have been near perfect. We stayed 4 nights in an end room with a delicious view of the gulf. I'm glad we were on the top floor because the pool was right below and I would imagine noisier on the lower floors. The direct access to the beach and the third party rental beach umbrella and chairs which could be added to the "incidental" charges of the hotel bill was appreciated. Though we hardly ran into the staff, those we did see were friendly. There are no bellboys but there is easy access luggage carts that worked out well. The first day the hallways smelled of Bvulgari which reminded me of The Four Seasons but the last two days it did not so I wonder if it was a Bvulgari scented guest and not the hotel. I thought I was just being picky about the beds if not for my husband, who can sleep anywhere, mentioning that he was disappointed in their comfort. If you do stay, pay the extra 30 bucks for the view. It makes you feel you are actually on vacation. There is wifi but it's slow. read more
