We stayed here for a night while visiting friends in the fine town of Clovis (north end of Fresno). It's nothing fancy but very clean and the staff here are exceptionally friendly and helpful. Our room on the second floor was quiet and had great water pressure and air conditioning. Our room had a king bed with a separate sitting room area, which made it quite comfortable. A small refrigerator, microwave, and coffee maker were in the room as well as two TVs. Breakfast was available until 9am (we met our friends for breakfast so missed it) and in the evening they put out a nice spread with soft drinks, cookies, nachos, berries, and taquitos. As my friends told us, it's probably the best place to stay in Clovis - plenty of parking, close to the freeway, and near old town. Look, don't come expecting the Ritz-Carlton, and you'll be comfy and happy with your stay. read more

Terrible, inflexible service at Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott Fresno Clovis Arrived after regular office hours for a government rate stay that I've used successfully at Marriott properties many times before. I showed my government-issued ID and regular ID as usual. The manager on duty refused to check us in without a formal work order. Because it was after hours, there was no one from our office available to immediately send over proof that we were there for work. The hotel then expected us to connect our work computers to their unsecured WiFi network, which directly violates our company's IT security policy. They also demanded we show internal company emails to the front desk -- something we are strictly not allowed to do. Zero flexibility, zero understanding of business traveler needs, and completely unprofessional. Corporate customer service later backed the manager instead of resolving anything. As a 15-year Bonvoy member, this experience has me seriously considering canceling my account entirely. Avoid this property. read more

We have stayed at this location perhaps 12-15 times, starting shortly after it opened, due to both business and family in the area. This time around, we made a reservation about six weeks in advance. We had two requests: (1) a room in a certain general location of the hotel, which has previously been accommodated each visit, and (2) a room with a king bed. This time, we got neither. They told us the room category we requested was not available, but they would put us in a nearby room. They did not mention that the room had two queen beds, which we discovered when we got to the room. An effort to correct the situation with the front desk failed. We likely will not be back. There was a lot of "friendliness" exhibited by the front desk personnel, but without any particular effort to honor our reservation made many weeks before. We'll look elsewhere next time. read more

I am reviewing this keeping in mind that Fresno is not a high end/fancy city. My stay here has been great. I believe it was Luiz that checked me in. He was efficient and friendly and even gave me a bottle of water as it was 97° outside The room was quite spacious, and the TV is huge! However there are some areas of improvement. Unfortunately because this seems like an older building, the Heating And Cooling comes from a wall unit so even though that TV is nice and big, it's quite difficult to hear over the fan of this unit. Also the side table closest to the bathroom has no outlets to plug in a phone or anything like that. Another pet peeve of mine is alarms being set that go off. There is an alarm clock and it went off at 6 AM. It was as simple as pushing it off but I feel like this is something that Housekeeping can do. Also, the internet is not great. From my location standpoint, I'm not very familiar with the city as I'm just here for one night for work, but there are a lot of restaurants and shopping plazas within 2 to 3 miles of this hotel, so he will not go without anything. Breakfast offered a lot of options... Your traditional hotel options like eggs/bacon, breakfast sandwiches, oatmeal and all the fixings, as well as waffles, bagel, toast. I handled the room block contract for a high school trip school trip in March. This hotel was wonderful to work with, increasing our room block and holding our rate when we realized we had more than expected. We stopped in for a business trip and just had an overnight here. There's plenty of parking and the rooms are reasonable for the price (including both a microwave and a refrigerator, but sadly, no safe) and everything seemed reasonably clean, especially the bathroom. There are no EV chargers on the premises. The staff were friendly and the best part of this hotel is that's so close to many bars/restaurants and a Tesla Supercharger is but a couple minutes drive away. Unfortunately, the free breakfast is quite bad. The coffee was average, but I had some eggs and sausage and got really bad food poisoning. I had eaten nothing else that morning and I should've trusted my instincts about the tepid eggs and sausage that probably sad in the warmer all morning. Thankfully, we had a late checkout before a 4 hour drive home, because that would've otherwise been a disaster. It's tempting, but stay away from the breakfast unless you eat first thing in the morning when the food is put out. read more

We stayed there for two nights and just came home today. Hotel is very clean, the parking is great and it is close to lots of stores and restaurants. The staff were friendly and the breakfast was good. I don't normally like breakfasts like that but this one was very good and the ladies in the kitchen area are very nice. The only thing I have to say that could be better is that the lobby was way too warm. They were blasting the heater and it was quite uncomfortable. To sit with our friends we were staying there with before retiring to our own rooms. They need to turn down the heater in the main hotel and they don't have a jacuzzi, which would have been very nice . I will definitely stay there again in the future. read more

Basic basic basic hotel. Staff is so incredibly friendly and welcoming... 5 stars! The walls are paper thin... I don't think I have ever stayed somewhere with such thin walls, and the rooms echo, so your voice and or tv sound a lot louder... so your neighbors can hear every word you say, and you can hear them... Thankfully, ours slept around the same time, it was just awkward for a while... There is a camera out front, when you arrive... and that's it. None by the doors, none in the parking lot, none by the pool. So I would not feel comfortable using the side entrances at night. The bed is awful, felt like laying on cardboard. I could not get comfortable. A/C worked well, drowned out sounds of ppl moving around early in the night, but then it would not click on in the middle of the night, it was hot, and you could hear all the noises around... Also, construction crews start working across the street at 7 am!! I was surprised they didn't have to wait until 8! It was clean and staff was friendly. Nice breakfast, gluten free options... So if you're looking for just basics, sleep hard, and can sleep anywhere, this place would work for you! read more

The stay was not bad; the staff was friendly. But management has been entirely incompetent in resolving issues with my points. I used points for two free nights, called the hotel four times to ensure they knew how to process everything, and was assured everything would go smoothly, even though I had received an email confirmation that my reservation had been canceled. A month later, I am now dealing with corporate through Marriott to deal with this issue after my refund was processed incorrectly via the local property. I have not stayed at this hotel since September but I remember it well. Quality: 5 stars. I enjoyed the beds, showers, and cable channels available. The wifi is pretty good too. Value: 4 stars. It is not the motel 6 and I am not too familiar with the price of a hotel stay. I thought I paid over a $100 a night but the hotel felt safe and classy. It has a pool I did not use but the other guests seem to enjoy it. Service: 5 stars. The staff was talented, helpful, and friendly. I locked myself out a lot and had to ask for key cards. The check in process was painless and our room was clean. Extra towels are available upon request. I liked the computers they had and free printing that was available. Atmosphere: 4 stars. I appreciated the decoration and cleaniness. I felt it was a COVID-19 safe space. Although, I missed out on the open buffet and free coffee, they did have grab and go. I was also disappointed that there was only one washer and drier for personal use at the hotel. Also, the gym was closed. We stayed for two nights on 6/22 thru 6/24 to be part of the jam packed crowd in Yosemite National Park to check out the waterfalls that went crazy. Everyone were very friendly from front desk to the room attendants, especially Kat and Hector who helped us check in late at night just before 11PM. In spite of being an "affordable" hotel, there is nothing low budget about this place. The hotel was very clean, very well decorated, and the staff couldn't have been more accommodating during this time of the Virus. The check in process was painless and our room was ready by check in time. The bed was comfortable, our room had a couch and two TVs, a refrigerator, and coffee maker. The bathroom had all the supplies you would expect and was very clean. The room came with complimentary WiFi and the tv was set up for you to use your Netflix or Amazon accounts for additional viewing. Because of Virus concerns, many of the hotel's amenities had to be closed down. The complimentary Buffett breakfast had to be replaced with a Grab and Go bag with Yogurt, granola bar, fruit, and juice. The hotel is half a mile from Old Town Clovis, a district filled with some great restaurants, sandwich shops, bars, as well as lots of shopping opportunities. There is nothing more I could think of to expect from a reasonably priced hotel. read more

I recently took a trip with my wife's family to visit Sequoia and Yosemite, with a stop in Fresno. Because we were traveling with my brother-in-law's dog, I researched (or so I thought) all the pet-friendly hotels and booked my hotels for the trip months ago. We arrived late at night at the Fairfield Inn in Clovis, and everyone was exhausted. To my horror, I was told that the hotel didn't allow pets (except for certified service animals). In retrospect, it's likely that I got confused on Marriott's Web site and booked the Fairfield Inn after reading the descriptions for the TownePlace Suites or the SpringHill Suites. I need to give a huge shout-out to Kat at the front desk. She was completely professional and explained the policy to me with kindness and empathy. She was able to cancel my reservation without penalty, and even offered some suggestions on where I could go (I was able to eventually get a room at the TownePlace Suites a short drive away). As I was figuring out my situation, I overheard her providing service to another exhausted guest checking in, who was also delighted with her service. I was admittedly a bit sad that I couldn't stay at the Fairfield Inn this time around--I loved the fact that they had a hot cocoa bar right there in the lobby, perfect for the chilly winter. And on most travel sites they have stellar ratings (4.5/5 on TripAdvisor, 8.6/10 on Expedia, etc.). But thanks to Kat at the front desk, I will 100% be staying here the next time I'm in the Fresno or Clovis area without our pet. read more

Staff at the Fairfield by Marriott at 50 Clovis Ave, Clovis, CA 93612 provided poor customer service on December 31st, 2022. They did not honor the government discount that was confirmed via email after my family and I booked our reservation online and arrived at the hotel to check-in. Whether this was a technical error on the website or an oversight in part of management, it is unacceptable to dishonor the rate at which we booked our rooms online, especially when we received an email confirmation and arrived to check-in. Management came across as passive-aggressive and condescending which is unfit for someone of their title and position at the Fairfield at Marriott. I needed to ask several times before they provided information of upper management. They accused me of "starting something here" and told me about what a "mature and responsible adult would do." They concluded stating that they would not speak to me. At this point, I reminded them that I am speaking respectfully and with a calm tone. I expressed several times again that I would like the contact information of a higher-up . They insisted that there is no one above them. Finally and reluctantly, they handed a card to me with the title General Manager on it and with the name, Kenneth Guereque. Due to this experience, they offered to cancel our reservation to which we agreed. My suggestions as a longtime guest at various Marriott hotels both in the U.S. and around the world is the following: I suggest that the company ensure that such technical mishaps do not occur by ensuring that the website is providing accurate information on the rate of the room. If my family and I are able to book a room with a government discount online and receive a confirmation email of our booking, then hotel management should honor this agreement, especially when I provide a government ID at time of check-in. Furthermore, I suggest that when such errors occur on part of the hotel that the management communicate respectfully and in a timely manner. This should not occur during check-in. Also, when such errors occur, it is likely more profitable for the hotel to take responsibility of the error and honor the rate that was confirmed online via email. This will not only ensure the hotel's credibility but also returning happy guests. Errors on part of management and the Marriott website are inevitable and when they occur, management should contact guests with as much notice as possible to inform them of the New Year's rate and that a government discount cannot be honored. This should not happen when guests are checking in after having received confirmation via email. My suggestion is to provide better training to management so that they may graciously and respectfully communicate such misunderstandings. As I have been staying at various Marriott hotels around the world, I intend on continuing to do so. But, I will inform my colleagues, family members, and friends to never stay at Fairfield by Marriott at 50 Clovis Ave, Clovis, CA 93612 due to poor management, unprofessionalism, and lack of customer service and accountability. read more

Bed is comfortable and bathroom is clean (but Basic) Gym - two treadmills (one wasn't working), one elliptical and weights. Cold water station to fill your water bottles, towels and complimentary new headphones. Basic gym set up. Parking - plenty and free Check in was easy and staff extremely friendly. Their breakfast area has plates, utensils and cups which is perfect as I ate leftovers from lunch. Beware - Walls are very thin - I can hear the running water next door. I can hear conversations. This was a nice Marriott in Clovis we stayed one night. Since it was warm at night staying in room 100 right next to the doors to go to the pool was so convenient! We swam in a shaded area around 4pm and it was perfect!! The staff was very helpful checking in and the breakfast staff was on top of everything at all times!! Clean big rooms only downside is the placement of the bathroom door in a tight entryway. The fridge and microwave were handy! Air was perfect and the parking lot was nice and big for everyone. Thinking of bringing your group here? Think again. My son's baseball team created a group room block here for a nearby tournament. The tournament was supposed to be Thursday through Sunday. After all the families booked 3 nights for the trip, we discovered two weeks before the tournament that there were no games on Thursday after all. Parents rightfully wanted to cancel the first hotel night (as many were having to take extra time off of work to make the trip), and we were well ahead of the 2-day cancellation window. Management was completely unbending and inconsistent. Some people were allowed to cancel their first night, others were shut down and told "no". No alternatives were given to try and make the best of a difficult situation. Our team has been returning here yearly for this tournament. We will never return to the Fairfield Inn & Suites Fresno Clovis again, and strongly suggest if you have a group you need to house in the area, you consider other options as well. read more

Our recent stay was a great experience. Friendly staff from the time we walked in. They even asked me what floor we would like to stay on? The location of this hotel is very close and walking distance to Old Town Clovis. The room was clean and roomy. The beds were so comfy. The bathroom is the first place I look when I go into a room. It was spotless and the shower tiles was spotless. Which is a plus for me. Breakfast buffet had a lot of choices to choose from. Yummy! And lots of seating. Easy parking. All around great hotel. I had a 3 night reservation which I made through Expedia. The day before we planned on driving to the hotel massive floods hit the area. I called the hotel to cancel due to the storms and even tried to just reschedule but the desk clerk said he didn't have the authority under any circumstances to change the dates. I called Expedia and they called the he hotel to see if we could reschedule and again the clerk told Expedia he didn't have the authority to make that decision and Expedia needed to call the next day and speak to a manager. Expedia gave me a case number and told me they would follow up which didn't happen either. Four days later I called the hotel and asked the person who identified herself as the front desk supervisor if any decision had been made. She was short and rude and said she was familiar with the "story" and told me that the hotel manager had spoken to Expedia to confirm my cancellation and was told by Expedia the cancellation confirmation number Expedia gave me and I provided to them didn't exist and then said "we know how these things work" basically insinuating I was lying to them? She continued to be short and rude so I hung up and called Expedia back and told them what the hotel told me. Expedia called the hotel then came back and told me they had spoken to the hotel manager and confirmed I had canceled on time and issued a full refund which appreciated very much. This would not have happened if it were up to the hotel. I am rescheduling to come back to the area when the weather is better but have zero intentions on staying at this hotel. They have a 3 star rating with a Marriott Flag. The supervisor also told me to call them directly next time as they have a lot of problems with third party booking companies. This hotel was nestled in Clovis and I honestly stayed here because it was cheaper rates than Fresno Marriott's for the dates I needed. First thing I noticed about check in was a friendly staff AND they had treats! Chocolate chip cookies and some candy were out on the desk. Yum! They accommodated my high floor room request, but I was disappointed that we were by the elevator because it was incredibly noisy with guests coming in and out of the lift very often throughout the night giggling and chatting. That room needed some better sound proofing for sure. Other than that, the room was clean and comfortable and the bathroom was spacious with a big shower. The breakfast rocked! They had a wide variety of options including a waffle maker with little treats I could add into my waffle mix and whipped cream to top the waffles! I ate myself silly. 07.22.2014 Family and I did a quick stop to sleep here before heading to Yosemite. BED & PILLOWS: Very comfy. I didn't wake up every time Hubby moved. BATHROOM: Clean. I wish the shampoo and conditioner samples were larger or they left more. Usually if you request two beds there will be more than two people, so more shampoo/conditioner and towels are helpful. ROOM: Thermostat was good. Clean, not smelly. But being near the exit, we could here the exit door open and close every time someone left. BREAKFAST: Hot breakfast buffet was very good! Eggs, potatoes, ham, bagels, breads, muffins, boiled eggs, cantaloupe, honeydew, apples, bananas, yogurt, milk, orange juice, apple juice, coffee, tea and hot chocolate, and the WAFFLE maker!!! The managment of this hotel has been 100% unresponsive to my billing issue. I have also dealt with the Marriott corporate customer care line with no follow through on my issue. I am a Marriott Rewards Lifetime Platinum member which means I have spent over 1000 nights in Marriott hotels. This year alone I am over 100 nights on my many business trips. Due to flight troubles, I landed late at LAX and decided that a 3 hour drive was not going to work. I called to cancel my reservation but was told I missed the 24 hour cancellation grace period. I explained that as a Lifetime Platinum member, the 24-hour issue did not apply. The clerk was rude and told me that my status meant nothing as to that policy and that he was going to charge me $181... which he did! I have tried numerous times to talk with a manager about the issue and I have yet to get a return call. I have also contacted the Marriott corporation customer care line with absolutely no response. I have been ignored to the point that I have switched all of my hotel business to Hilton. Hilton offered me Diamond status if I switched from Marriott. The service has been outstanding and I am treated with both courtesy and respect. I will not stay in another Marriott property until I'll get a response from management. read more

I have stayed here several times and my experience has been consistent each time. The front desk staff is very polite but often it is hard to track them down (by phone or late arrival). Late at night it appears there is only one of them. The rooms are clean and comfortable, albeit smaller than I would like for the price. The air conditioner is under the window (noisy) but has individual thermostat control which is nice. The breakfast is the best part in my book. Lots of foods both hot and cold. This Inn, set right off the freeway, had only been open for 6 weeks when we stayed. The lobby is nicely appointed and we were greeted warmly by the counter girl, Ashlee. Check in was a breeze; we were told about the continental breakfast from 6:00 to 9:00 a.m. (assorted breads, sweet rolls etc); and then off to our room. The rooms are nice; the bed is comfortable; free - wireless, always appreciated; but the air conditioning - heater...OMG...if it's on, it's ON! A real blow-hard, an on or off proposition. There is NO fan control. Well, the windows open just a bit, so that's what we did, open the window just a bit to allow the cool night air in. The bathrooms are large; nice shower/tub combo and with it being new the water came out like water should...towels are large enough, but thin. In room coffee makers are cute; little one cuppers that have their own disposable little mini baskets...I always need two to get a decent cup of Joe, so I just put one on top of the other and I'm good to go. LindySez - all in all, an o.k. place to spend a night. But face it America, you get what you pay for so if you want the Ritz...you're going to have to pay for the Ritz. read more

Nope nope nope! Not again. I am usually not one to complain or write a review on something whether good or bad. But this I had too. Checked in and went to my room on the first floor. When I entered my room I checked out the bathroom first and to find a roach crawling around the floor. I went down to the front desk and told them about the roach and they immediately gave me a new room on the second floor. Just the hotel in general for a Marriott chain does not seem as clean as its suppose to. And that was my opinion prior to finding the roach. Clean and comfortable with good service are apt descriptions of the Fairfield Inn. We arrived on a hot (100 degrees) Wednesday afternoon in Clovis and welcome the cool (temperature) of the inn. It looked fairly new and the room interior was clean. The bathroom was roomy and there were no signs of mold on the tile. The queen size beds were firm. Being on the top floor, we were not subjected to footsteps above our ceiling. Our room had a small microwave and a tiny refrigerator. That evening, the inn provided a free dinner which consisted of chicken and potatoes with various salads and fruit. We only had a few snacks and didn't sample the main course. This only happens on Wednesday evenings. For breakfast, the next morning, there was a full compliment of sausages, scrambled eggs, potatoes, cereal, waffles (make your own), fruit, and coffee. This was one of the best breakfasts I've had at a Marriott. The attendant that was replenishing the food was helpful. We had a pleasant stay and if in the area again, we would choose the Fairfield Inn. read more

Area: 5/5 - Very safe. Haven't had any issues, and I haven't heard of anyone's cars having issues. Just be smart and don't leave anything of value in them. Parking: 5/5 - Right out front. They have enough parking spots out front for a full house. Staff: 5/5 - I love the friendly staff. Very friendly, caring, helpful and easy to talk to. Rooms: 4.5/5 - The rooms are clean, and it's typically not too noisy. The TV is an easily navagatable flat screen, about 32", and the beds are soft with about 4 pillows per bed. Just try not to get a room next to the elevator so you don't hear it dinging. Fitness/Pool: 4.5/5 - They also have a nice fitness area with some treadmills and an outside pool and spa. I love the built-in treadmill TV's, but I wish they had a larger fitness area because it is a little cramped. Perks: 4.5/5 They also have an appetizer dinner most Tuesdays and Wednesdays for an hour that has soda and all sorts of goodies (cheese & crackers, fruit, salad, usually 2 hot appetizers, and a couple other things). This is because they know a lot of people that travel on Tuesdays/Wednesdays are business travelers. I wish they served beer, too, because most business people love to have a drink at their hotel. Cons: The biggest issue is if you don't reserve your room at least a week or two in advance then they might be sold out. It's a very good hotel, so the popular ones will go quick. Don't get your hopes up that they have a room available within a few days of your staying on a weekday unless someone cancels their reservation. Arrived on a Thur night, the front clerk was extremely nice and friendly. The room was clean, 2 queens but room seemed a bit small and seemed cramped. The bathroom door was extremely odd, it swung open outward toward the door and you couldn't leave it open bc it someone would run into or stub there for on the door. That was a hazard with children. The breakfast area was another story, it was so Miserably HOT in there. As if they kept the AC off intentionally, so the guests wouldn't want to spend much time in the breakfast area. When it's 110 degrees outside, all you want to do is come inside in the AC Hotel. The heat made it very uncomfortable and not wanting to eat anything at breakfast. The beds were comfortable and the cleaning staff were friendly. read more

The Fairfield and was a wonderful place to stay. The room was great and the staff members were wonderful and the continental breakfast in the morning was great. Would definitely stay there again next time I am in the area. read more
