My family and I are staying at the Hampton Inn & Suites Madera on the weekend. It's a budget-friendly inn that's clean and conveniently located. There's an additional parking lot behind the building, which is free. Breakfast is included in the room rate of $136 per night. The room is decent-sized and has two double beds. There's a 7-Eleven gas station across the street, which is a plus. However, there's a downside: the Tesla Supercharger is 13 miles away in Chowchilla City. Fortunately, there are two 7-Eleven EV charging stalls across the street, but you'll need a CCS1 to NACS adapter for your Tesla. read more

We were traveling and decided to take a break for the day. Hampton inn in Madera was our halfway spot. Check in was a a breeze. Everything was as the reservation said. The room was spacious and clean. The service was great. The next morning we enjoyed their breakfast. A good variety of foods: waffles, bagels, eggs, yogurt. I was here for 3.5 weeks and I asked for shower cap and they said we don't offer those here but the sign in the bathroom states they do have; then there was a bug in my pillow and in the bathroom! When you first walk into this establishment, you are welcomed with a friendly smile and acknowledgment, besides this there was such a clean smell as you continue to enter in the building. The lady at the front desk were extremely kind and efficient checking me in giving me the room directions and Wi-Fi instructions. As I continue to walk through the Hampton Inn and suites that clean, smell of aloe continue to freshen the air. I was able to make it down to the pool, which was perfect size with plenty of outside chairs and lounge chairs Hampton Inn and suites in Madera is located directly off the freeway and is extremely easy to find as soon as you exit. There is plenty of safe and well lit outdoor parking with ADA and diamond members slots upfront The rooms were delightfully, clean, and fresh, each of them having a microwave, refrigerator, coffee maker, and a beautiful bathroom with a large shower and bathtub. Now let's discuss the super comfortable and large beds in each of the rooms.... If I did not have to go to work when I woke up, I most definitely would've enjoyed lounging a bit longer in the bed because it was so comfortable. I did make it down to continental breakfast, which had a large variety of fresh fruits, bread, pastries, and bagels. Along with scrambled eggs, red potatoes, and sausage patties. There was waffles with every type of topping and cereal with every type of topping, including oatmeal. They had a juice bar and fresh milk. There was no way you would walk away hungry. I was able to walk around the outside before bed, which was extremely safe with a walking path that goes in front of the highway patrol building. I will be back in this area once a month for business and will always stop at the Hampton Inn and suites of Madera due to the employees and the caliber of customer service, along with the cleanliness, comfortable and beautiful hotel and to top it all off one of the most amazing breakfast continental bars I have seen. We were attending a wedding at The Margaux in Madera. After reading reviews for all hotel options, we opted for Hampton Inn. It was clean, well maintained, and the staff was friendly. This hotel does not live up to the other Hampton Inn's that we have stayed in. The hallways and lobby have been updated nicely. The rooms have updated decor but the mattress did not give a good sleep if updated. The air conditioner was noisy and not updated but the thermostat seemed to be. The window (or AC) in our room let in much noise (road work being done outside) along with thin walls and noisy walkers above us it was not a great stay. Oh, and the tub took 30 minutes or so to drain from a shower. Breakfast was good. Parking was adequate. Another thing, we booked the room through a third party (we did our whole trip this way) at 1:35 pm on the day of arrival. We arrived (about 5pm) to find out that all the rooms with walk in showers were occupied already but they said we could "upgrade" to a jetted tub (I guess there was a stand alone shower in the room). I mention this because all of the other hotels (about 5) accommodate us with the walk in shower (I guess they read their request ahead of time). My family stayed here for 2 nights, and I needed to book 2 different rooms. We were able to check in and quickly get my keycards. The rooms were clean with plenty of pillows. There is a microwave and a mini fridge in every room. The walls are thin, since we were able to hear our neighbors talking. The complimentary breakfast was good. The 2 Hilton workers were friendly and did a great job replenishing the food. The breakfast area had plenty of tables for families to sit, too. When we checked out the outdoor pool, it was really cold. There were no pool towels either. Overall, my family enjoyed our stay here. read more

We were in town for a birthday party. Yes, people in Madera party too. Haha The boyfriend booked a room at the property for convenience as it was less than a 10 minute drive from where we needed to be later that evening. To my surprise, the hotel was very well maintained and clean. There is a big dining area when you first walk in. Front desk staff were very efficient and friendly during the check in process. Our room was pretty standard but it was a comfortable stay. There was a mini fridge and microwave in the room. Thoughtful desk area if you need to get some laptop time in. Bed and pillows were awesome. AC worked well and quickly -- it gets hot in Madera! Complimentary breakfast in the morning. And again -- to my surprise, there were many options: waffles, eggs, sausages, seasoned breakfast potatoes, bagels, pastries, yogurt, cereal, and assorted juices. That's pretty decent considering breakfast is included with your stay. Finally, there is hot coffee and tea available 24/7 in the lobby. Kudos to the team running this place! read more

Holy moly, this place was awful. Old and run down and several miles from central Madera. Closet door broken and some lights not working. Definitely not your average Hampton Inn, which is the brand of hotel we almost always use when traveling. Not sure how this place got so many good reviews, unless maybe there is another Hampton Inn in town and the reviewers got confused about which one they were reviewing. I stayed at the Hampton Inn in Madera this week. I arrived ill, and asked to check in early as l was barely able to get out of my car. The front desk put a rush on my room and allowed me to do so. While trying to take my luggage to my room l was weak, and looked horrible. The maintenance supervisor Daniel, took one look at me, stopped what he was doing, and kindly offered to take my luggage to my room. He kindly stated that he would get off work at 4:30, and to contact him if l needed anything. Several hours later. I received a phone call from one of the ladies at the front desk, who said she had learned l was ill, and wanted to know if she could bring me anything. That same kindness repeated itself, in the middle of night. The lady working the front desk in the early morning kindly brought me yogurt and a Sprite to drink to help with my nausea. I am so impressed with the kindness l received, and humbled by their care. I was ill due to a change in my chemotherapy medication that left me, weak, vomitting, fatigued, and exasperated. I just couldn't let this go. I stayed there the night of 12/17/22. I think it was a room on the 4th floor. I woke up to a cluster of bites not like any I have ever seen. I called the next day and let them know to check. They called back and said they did their standard bed bug sweep, but did not find anything. Maybe it was something else? Or it could have been an isolated incident, but check your bed first, and don't put your suitcase or any clothes on the beds. Anywhere! Thank god I did not bring them home with me, but I was obsessively worried about it. I washed literally everything and left stuff outside for weeks. Anyway, just be careful. One would never think because it is a very nice hotel for the area. I hope I'm wrong and it was a spider or something? But be wary. Here and everywhere. Don't become complacent even in a seemingly nice clean hotel. One star for breakfast and one star because I was lucky I never brought any bugs home with me! read more

The breakfast in the morning is delicious way better than your typical continental breakfast that usually just consist of a bagel , juice, and coffee. They serve fresh eggs, bacon, sausage, potatoes, and the best part...they have a waffle maker, where you can make your own mini waffles, they are very delicious. The staff is very polite and knowledgeable. I had a wonderful experience with the concierge, Hannah, she could answer every question without hesitation, and was always very polite. My parents and I stayed here for one night in January, 2023 and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Our room was immaculately cleaned and in great condition. I didn't see any where that the hotel was looking old or ill maintained. The staff were great: very friendly and very helpful. The breakfast served included the best "hotel" potatoes and the best "hotel" meat that I have ever tasted. Incidentally, I have had a lot of hotel breakfasts. The location isn't within walking distance of anything, really, but this is great! There are plenty of nice restaurants, and other amenities, within 2 miles of the hotel. Because of the "remote-ness" of this hotel, I felt very comfortable with the night time security in the parking lot. I have every intention of staying here every time that I need lodging in this area. read more

Really bad front desk service. Specifically from Connie Not helpful, argumentative, and unreasonable. Even calling us "stupid"under her breath! We also witnessed her telling a guest that they were not telling the truth about the water not working in their room for 2 days because she has a paper saying it was fixed. The rooms are very spacious and clean , it seems as if the hotel is brand new which can be the reason for the inexperience. Stay at your own risk Oh and you can't use the lobby bathroom for the protection of there (unmasked) lobby staff, it would make more sense to say "it is for your own protection." read more

This really has to be my 3rd or 4th review where I share my dislike for Hampton Inns, while also admitting that we will continue to return. We love our Hilton Honors points too much to move away from the brand. So, this Hampton Inn was pretty new and was in good shape - new, soft towels, great bedding, clean public spaces. Its in the middle of nowhere, so you cannot walk to anything, nor is going out to get a bite to eat particularly quick. What kind of did me in for this particular location was we had 3 people in our room and reserved one room with 2 queen beds. We checked in at 7pm and they sent us up to our room. We carried all our luggage and got up there only to find the room only had one king bed. Nope, won't work. So we turn around and go back downstairs. She said she didn't have any queen rooms left but could put us in a wheelchair accessible room that had a king and a sofa bed. It was our only option and the only room of its kind available. She offered to take 25% off of our rate in exchange. I think I was more peeved that they let us haul all of our stuff up to the room without telling us it only had one bed - maybe they hoped we wouldn't notice. Ultimately the room was fine. Since it was a wheelchair accessible room there was lots of extra space. The 9-year old who is a yo-yo fanatic right now, said, "There's lots of yo-yo room in this place." Who doesn't love warm chocolate chip cookies & hot coffee offered upon check-in!?! We checked in really late almost midnight, and the lovely lady working the desk still managed to have fresh baked cookies at that time was amazing. Being that it was so late she offered up late checkout that we politely declined. She also informed us that we couldn't get breakfast from 6am-10am, the breakfast was good. The ladies who work that area are so nice! They offered to make our waffles, when it was clearly self serve. The fitness is nice & clean. Yes we did all this before checking out at 10am! If I could change anything about the room it would be to move the coffee machine that's currently in the bathroom into the other part of the room where the microwave & mini fridge is. 5 stars for what it is--a clean, cheap place to crash, seconds off the freeway. There is nothing unique, romantic, memorable or local about it. But if you are on the road and need a place to put your head for six hours of zzzzzzzzz so you don't nod off on the freeway, or are in town for the State XC Championships (go Cougars!) then this will do the trick. Yes where is Madera. About a 4 hour drive out of Los Angeles off Highway 99 and 2 hours away from Oakland. They tell me it's also a gateway to Yosemite via the east scenic entrance. I chose this Hilton family hotel to break up the monotony of driving on Highway 5 to Oakland. Wanted to see what has happened to route 99. This lonely hotel infront of a huge Almond plant was very nice. Our week night stay was quite and enjoyable. Our room had a brand new carpet and everything was new and clean. Went there after being evacuated from the creek fire, courtesy of the red cross. They kicked us out because our dog had an accident (she peed) in the main hallway which was blocked by a housekeeper and her cart. She then delayed our son even more by asking unnecessary questions instead of moving so they could get by. Also claimed we had extra people in the room but I wasnt aware we couldnt have visitors who simply stopped in to express their concern over the fires. And claimed the room was trashed(it was not and I have pictures to prove it)! And how would they know what condition the room was in unless they entered the room illegally anyhow? I have to say that the Hampton Inn and Suites Madera looks good from the outside. And the rooms look nice but the AC in my room which was a suite SUCKED. When I initially came in to the room at about 1030 pm it was 80 degrees. I set the AC lower and it would not go below 79. The staff had to reset the thermostat so I know that they have had problems with this "old AC" unit. I woke up in the middle of the night with it 72 degrees when it was set to 64 degrees. NOTE TO SELF and OFFICE: Dint set up reservations or consider staying here unless you want to pay good money for a restless night of sleep. read more

Stayed at this hotel two nights for a family event and will definitely stay here again. Upon arrival the front desk gal was very friendly. They serve breakfast (waffles, oatmeal, omelets, sausages, coffee ect) what else can ask for. The rooms were reasonably spacious for 4 of us. Bathrooms were also spacious and plenty of room to get ready in the mornings. It has air conditioning, which you definitely need when in Madera. At check out time we were running late and call the front desk to tell them we needed a few more minutes and were told no problem. Overall a great experience. Once we had checked out and in the car my daughter realized she left her airpod case behind in the room. The front desk gave us a temporary key to go back and look, luckily it was still on the bed. I am a Hilton Honors Gold Account member. In the last 7 days I stayed 6 nights in a Hilton property all across the US. It's funny to come to a small town in Central CA to get the worst treatment out of all hotels. I guess small town thinking is prevalent at this hotel. Not only was the staff off putting when I checked in, but when I complained to Hilton (which I've never done before) the Madera staff ignored me. Not only did Hilton make it right with me they had to apologize for this substandard property. I stay at a lot of Hamptons...they're always clean, and pretty consistent. But some are still way better than others. When I booked at stay at a highway-side Hampton Inn in Madera, I didn't have high hopes. I just needed a place to crash for the night. But this hotel has clearly undergone a recent renovation. Great hotel stay! The rooms and bathrooms are clean. Front desk staff is nice. And the best part, they have hot breakfast in 2021 when most hotels are grab and go breakfast only. We had eggs, sausage, and potatoes along with waffles, oatmeal, etc. So good! They had servers take your order and bring it to your table. But yes, overall great experience at this hotel! read more
