This hotel needs a MAJOR update! Walking up to the front door, there was a large coffee spill and cigarette butts everywhere. After checking in, I always check behind the headboard with a flashlight. A crazed barber must have stayed here due to all the hair. It was disgusting!!! I told the manager (Joshua) and he had it cleaned while I was out. The bathroom wasn't clean and there was snot on one of the walls. The whole joint is old and needs tons of work. Even a good cleaning would be good. My bathroom had mold growing in some places. Alert for allergy suffers: I looked at the Internet for all hotels between Shreveport and Dallas of the Marriott and Hilton brands. This is the only one I found that was pet free! It's becoming hard and harder to find pet free hotels and I need them.. This place was clean. Quiet. The air conditioning worked well. And it was packed free. I'll be staying there again. For the life of me, I don't know why the Marriott and Hilton webpage. You don't have a button you could click for pet free hotels. It would make life easier. Oh yeah, there's a number of restaurants within walking distance of the hotel. That's a nice plus. I walked over to Chipotle. read more

We are originally from the area and due to husband being a Marriott platinum member, we typically stay here when we come in to visit. The last few years this hotel has declined significantly. This visit will likely be the last time we stay here. For years now, every time we are here, the pool is ALWAYS closed for an "inspection" and will open by noon and never does. It has become a joke to see if the sign will be up and IT WAS! The kids want to swim and never can. Free breakfast was its typical, subpar experience. No waffle iron this trip. Also this visit, the cleanliness of our rooms was not good at all. I had to clean dirt and hair off of our bathroom counter. There was hair on the toilet. Tub and floor were filthy. Thankfully Walmart is across the street so we could buy cleaning supplies. But we shouldn't have to. One of our queen beds had dirty/used bedding like it hadn't been changed between guests. The cleaning crew needs some retraining. Front desk staff and Jon, the maintenance guy, were super nice. The staff was definitely the only bright spot of this trip. read more

We booked our room on Priceline.com last night for about $77. When we arrived, the attendant asked us if we wanted our room on the first, second, or third floor. We chose the third floor and were given the keys to room 300. This woman was very very nice and pleasant. When we arrived in our room, we noticed that there weren't any coffee cups. So my husband called down to the front desk and she promptly brought up for coffee cups. I did notice that they only had decaf coffee in the room but that was OK because that's what we drink. They had a limited breakfast supply when my husband went down there at about 9 o'clock. The breakfast ends at 9:30 and it was slim Pickens when he got there. For the value, we would definitely stay here again! read more

2 stars because it is a pretty clean hotel room. No one at the desk at arrival for multiple guests.. Had to go knock on the employee door. The towels and bed were clean and they did remove most of the feather pillows as requested (not all but most). However very cheap in terms of what they give you. They give 2 towels and 2 rolls of toilet paper (not even full) so hopefully that is enough - we ran out. Breakfast is a joke. When they have anything uts just frozen junk food, packaged muffins, and fruit. The juice machine isn't even connected, nothing fresh, and it's pretty blah. They also clear out all of the food before Breakfast time ends. Supposed to end at 9:30 today, but it was all gone except fruit by 9:19. If you want to come for the pool, it is very small and they don't manage policies for it. We were in at 11 (when it should be adults only and no more than 7 people) and there were about 10 kids with one maybe 2 adults (not sure that one was even an adult and they weren't even together) screaming jumping and diving in the 3 ft pool. We mentioned it by the front desk and were ignored so I guess that policy isn't important to them. The beds here are extremely hard. Both me and my husband woke up with shoulder pain from the mattress. Kind of a disappointment. read more

Truly dishonest and extremely rude customer service by management staff. We booked a suite with two double beds and a pull out sofa. When we arrived we were told the hotel made a booking error. The staff offered us a king size bed with connecting room for the same exact price. We were thrilled. A few days after checking out we receive a bill for $100 for allegedly damaging the carpet in front of the dressing mirror which is absolute bogus charge. We vehemently disputed that charge. The Manager on duty was rude and hung up the phone when my sister called to inquire about the charge. We were told that the General Manager was the only person who could assist in this type of dispute. However the GM never returned our calls and my sister whose credit card was used was blocked from calling the hotel. I am truly disappointed with this Marriot in particular and will not recommend anyone stay there if they will add fraudulent charges to your credit card. Lastly, the rooms are extremely dark and dingy and definitely not worth the price. Next time perhaps I will choose an Air B&B read more

Yet another good stay at a Fairfield, this time in Longview. According to the staff, this hotel has been renovated over the last few months. The changes clearly shine through on this property. First, parking. A little interesting here. Making the left turn off of 4th street can be slightly challenging, so please be patient. Quite a bit of traffic at times, yet no biggie. The lot itself is slightly awkward. Be sure to stay in the right lane that appears to be going toward the Comfort Inn, and not the twin left lane (dead end). Standard 3-level property with a pool & workout room. The room is ultra-comfortable, and very clean. Breakfast in the morning was quite good with quite a bit of choices: eggs, sausage, bagels, muffins, waffles, yogurt, fruit, along with the standard three coffee blends and three other types of juice. The property's location is within the prime shopping area of Longview. Located within walking distance of a Super WalMart (across the street), as well as Panera Bread, Baskin Robbins, and several other venues that you can get a good bite to eat at. In relation to the Loop, the hotel is within 1/4 of a mile from the turn off onto 4th street. The staff is A+, and genuinely nice. One thing that this property does a bit extra is that they have breakfast to-go bags for those guests that have to eat & run. Definitely a nice touch, and one that I haven't seen at any other Fairfield property. Certainly will be back. read more

Clean, reasonable price, convenient. The family stayed here for two nights. The hotel was basically a place to sleep. We did not hang out during the day. Check-in was fast and friendly. Our room was clean and spacious. It was cleaned well. We intended to use the pool but we didn't. When we checkes it out, it was clean and looked inviting. While we never heard noise from the adjacent rooms, noise in the hallway, although minimal, was easily heard. This location is convenient to many restarants and shopping. We would strongly recommend this hotel. read more

Some of the poorest, dishonest customer service I have ever received from a hotel by Marriot. My wife left a pair of glasses which I know is not the hotels fault. When we call to confirm if the hotel found them during housekeeping they confirmed they had found them and would mail them back to us. For the next two weeks I would call to confirm they had been shipped and every time I call they tell me they have been shipped and will be there any day. Eventually a person from the hotel calls two weeks later and tells me they have the glasses at the hotel and can mail them. So they never actually mailed the glasses back to me. Now I have given them my credit card information and tell me the GM is the "only person who can mail things". It's been another 2 weeks and still have not been mailed my glasses. They continue to give me the runaround. This is extremely disappointing and frustrating. Other than this issue, the hotel was fine. Just don't expect customer service once the bill has been paid and you have left. read more

My family and I stayed here over the Thanksgiving weekend. The staff were very friendly and courteous, and really made this Fairfield location stand out in comparison to others I have stayed. The room we reserved was a King with a sofa sleeper, and it didn't feel cramped while we were there. The hallways are a bit noisy, as you can hear conversations of other guests as they are walking / talking heading to their room. Overall, it was a good value and I would stay here again. read more

It's Longview. So there won't be any Ritz or JW anywhere close by. I've stayed at this Fairfield several times now since I'm a "Marriott Guy". Prices are reasonable (usually around $90/night) but then again, it's Longview, right? The room itself is pretty standard. Cable TV, including HBO; refrigerator; microwave. Best thing about this hotel is the location. There is a mall close by in case for things that may have gotten overlooked while packing (i.e. socks or belt). Walmart is across the street if you need to grocery shop. And there are plenty of restaurants near by; some even within walking distance. It's less than 2-miles from my work so I get to sleep in which may be the best reason to stay here. read more

Stayed here recently when I was in town for Homecoming. For the price you cannot do any better. The rooms were large, clean, comfortable and well appointed, they have a pool and free internet access They are a little light on the ammenities (ie, there is no room service and there is not a restaruant on site), but within walking distance of an IHOP and are just a short drive to anything else you might need. read more

BEWARE, DO NOT STAY HERE IF YOU ARE A SMOKER. We did not smoke in the room and they still charged us for smoking in the room. I guess their not aware that smokers stink up the room with their luggage, clothes, smell, etc. This is all common sense. They need to change their reservations to say no smokers allowed or you will be charged for smoking in the room, even though we didn't. Plus there is security cameras in the smoking area out back, if they would just review those videos they could see us outside smoking every time. This is complete Bullshit!! read more

Solid Fairfield Inn with everything that a Fairfield is supposed to have. The room was clean and the bed quite comfortable. The staff was friendly without being overbearing or annoying. Check-in was a breeze, and the prices are reasonable. It is Longview, so there aren't a lot of high-end options. I'm a Marriott girl, so I tend to seek out the Marriott properties when I can. My complaints are that the mirrors definitely need replaced as they are losing their coating and they were FILTHY and clearly hadn't been cleaned before my check-in. The shower made a horrible, horrible high-pitched squeal when in use (though a complaint to the front desk had it mostly fixed by the time I returned to the hotel). The water pressure is terrible. There aren't anywhere near enough outlets for a business traveler. And let's face it, if you're staying at a hotel in Longview, you're a business traveler. The pros include a great indoor pool with an absolutely fantastic hot tub (clearly brand new). The bed is very comfy, and the whole hotel is quite clean. The location really can't be beat. It's right on the Loop, so easy access to everything, with plenty of restaurant options nearby. I will stay here again. Good, solid hotel. read more

I have stayed at this Fairfield many times. I was very pleased to see that the entire place got a much needed renovation. It looks fantastic, and they have added an exercise room and guest laundry. BED BUGS! We stayed at this Fairfield Inn the weekend of January 11 - 13, 2019. We were there for a high school softball tournament. We woke up Sunday morning and were covered in bed bug bites on our feet, legs, arms, hands, face, neck and stomach. We were miserable. We pulled the covers back and videoed a bed bug crawling on the covers. We showed the video and our bites at check out to the desk clerk. The clerk ask that we send her the video and she also took pictures of our bites. She stated she would contact her general manager immediately. On Monday morning I received a survey about our stay. I detailed our experience, including the fact that we had not been contacted by the general manager. Within a couple hours of the review, I received an email from the general manager asking for a good time to call. I told her I would be available after 4:00 pm. I never received a call. The charges on our card were credited for our stay. On Tuesday, I received a call from the hotel's general counsel for our statements about our experience. We told him of all the bites, sent him the video and pictures of our bites. He told us he would investigate and then contact us. To this date, we have not been contacted from him or anyone else regarding the investigation. This experience was miserable. We suffered for weeks from the bites. After reading about bed bugs, bites can take up to 14 days to appear. The bites continued to appear days later. The medicine only temporarily helps. We had to take an antihistamine every 4 hours. We used hydrocortisone cream and calamine lotion and it still did not help. We also fogged all our belongings that we had taken with us, including the suitcases. It is my understanding once a hotel has a charge of bed bugs, they are supposed to let the public know. I have not seen any indication of this on their website for this hotel. read more

When I am in Longview with my wife and children, we usually stay at this Fairfield Inn. We have always received consistent service and enjoy seeing the same faces each time we return. I especially wish to thank the kitchen staff, Donnetta and Jeanette on our most recent visit. Donnetta always greets us, and asks about my children when they are not with me. Jeanette joined the team recently, and was very helpful when we were there on a very busy Thanksgiving Day. read more

I went to Longview, TX for business and stayed for 2 nights in this Hotel. The lady that checked me in was far from friendly. Pretty much check me in with as little as possible conversation and no smile at all. Luckily the next day there was another young Lady (I believe her name was April) who had a great personality and very professional and friendly. I stayed on the first floor and the room was clean and seemed o.k. until someone on the top floor used the shower or bathroom. I could hear someone on the top floor walking around and then turn on the shower and my bathroom suddenly began to smell like poop! Then as the shower upstairs was being used my bathroom sink started to fill with water and soap...DISGUSTING!!! Just when I thought my sink would flood.....the water started going down the drain and just left a bunch of soap bubbles which of course I rinsed out with water. The Hotel wasn't horribly bad that's why I gave them 3 stars. The location is pretty convenient with walking distance stores, and coffee shops so if I go back to Longview I would probably consider staying here again. read more
