UPDATE: As you've read above my stay was off to a rocky start but the staff went above and beyond to make my remaining stay awesome. From the assistance to the positivity and conversations at night when I could not sleep and went to the lobby. My stay was a complete turn around. In rating I give the following STAFF- 5 STARS MAINT/ ROOM TURNOVER - 5 STARS ROOM COMFORT- 4 STARS INTERNET - 2 STARS.... was extremely slow I couldn't stream using there TV and was horrible trying on my laptop. Was kicked off numerous times. I called the 800 number given by the desk. I suggest a new and better internet provider. FACILITIES - 3 STARS the staff is amazing with what they have but the chain should invest more into the facility and probably the pay as well. Overall Arlasha Johnson has done an amazing job with her staff and training. I was satisfied. read more

Fairfield by Marriott Inn & Suites Lawton - I came to see my son graduate - Hotels Near Me - Lawton, Oklahoma

I recently just checked into the Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott in Lawton, Oklahoma. I was there due to my oldest son getting married and my sister and I stayed here. It was nice on the outside but looked like any typical hotel. 2 queen beds, dresser, desk, mini fridge, bathroom etc. so as far as the room it's something u can pretty much expect. The room service and front desk people were very polite. And when I needed extra towels and toilet paper they were there super fast at getting the items to me. And the morning waitress for the food bar was so exceptional and pleasant. The food area it's self had a lot of choose from. They had hot foods like scrambled eggs and muffins and donuts to waffles with the waffle maker and oatmeal with lots of toppings. They also had an outdoor pool that I didn't get a chance to go into but it looked well kept and clean. I forgot to take pics of everything else but the food area so that's all I'll be posting. read more

Let me start by saying I can be picky. I also have expectations when I book a "name" hotel for the night. If it were a Ma and Pa hotel, my expectations lower exponentially, big name hotel, they rise accordingly. Marriott USED to be one of the big 2, with Hilton, when it came to hotels. Obviously those days are gone... We arrived around 8 p.m., checked in with no problem, but noticed (immediately) that the floor was dirty. As we walked to the elevator, the dirty floor continued, snippets of paper on the floor. When the elevator arrived, there was an approximately 3/4" rise to get into the elevator. No marking, nothing. A true trip hazard. Upon arriving in our room, we began to unpack, and noticed the "weathered" furniture, 1st generation flat screen TV, crooked lamp shades. Went into the bathroom, and were appalled. There was obviously a water leak in the above room at some point (see pictures), and it was repaired quite shabbily. I looked in the shower, and the disgust continued. It looked as though it hadn't been thoroughly cleaned in I don't know how long. We went to bed, that at least was comfortable and had enough pillows. I attempted to get on the WiFi this morning to do some work while my wife was at an appointment, to no avail though, as the internet was (inexplicably)down. The complimentary breakfast was not yet fully ready at 7:15, though it begins at 7. We are outside a military post, so I kind of expect things to be on time, my bad. The food was ok, though the eggs were oversalted. The one redeeming quality that was present was the staff. They were very courteous. Unfortunately that one positive does not negate all of the negatives.We will not return. read more

I called this hotel three times for group pricing. I asked for the sales manager or their email address so I could get pricing for the group block. I was hung up on all three times. Not a word was said she just hung up the phone. Not recommended based on this experience alone. read more

If zero Star was the choice, I would have given this place a zero... my husband is a lifetime titanium elite of Marriott, and we have stayed in hundreds of Marriott hotels before. However, this is the only hotel that Marriott status is worthless. We were not offered any water, any points or anything like any other Marriott chain hotels. on top of that, we had the smallest room we could possibly get. Just unbelievable backward treatment. I notice couple review also mentioned the RUDE front desk receptionists, which is 200% true. Never met any hotel staffs in my life could show you how they could care less of your stay in this place. AND I never know until today that having internet connection in a hotel is a luxury, we checked in and had no internet. Asked the front desk, they said someone had been working on it. That was 5 hours ago at least... We originally made 14 days reservation, and will cut it to 1 night and check out tomorrow. STAY AWAY FROM IT! read more

Stayed here with family. My sister in-law was sexually harassed by the maintenance tech. He hit on her while she was with her young daughter at the pool. He also handed her a folded piece of paper with this phone number on it telling her to call her. We talked to the corporate office and they didn't seem to care one bit. The corporate office told us they would give us a voucher for half off a hotel the next time we were in town. That didn't sit well for us so we took it as far as we could and eventually ended up having the entire weekend comped. Still not happy though but I don't think anything would have made us happy about this situation. Hopefully the maintenance tech who did this has been fired because he is definitely not someone who should be around a hotel. read more

This hotel may not be a vacation resort, but it's a decent enough place for a quick business trip. My room was not particularly large but it was comfortable and had everything I needed. CONS -No in-house restaurant. I went to the Cracker Barrel around the corner. -One of my trash cans still had some trash in it when I checked in. I guess Housekeeping forgot to empty one. -Front desk morning staff not especially friendly. More like nonchalant. PROS -Free internet (and easy to access) -Pantene Shampoo and Conditioner -Cleansing and Makeup Remover Towelette (I like this for no other reason than it's just cool) -Ton of channels available on TV. This is important because I don't know what else to do in Lawton. -Room was clean (with the exception of the one trash can). -AC temperature is easily controllable (though a bit noisy) -Free breakfast (yogurt, fruit, cereal, etc.) in the morning. -Front Desk evening staff gave me a fork because Cracker Barrel forgot to give me one with my dinner. I have to give this Marriott a solid three stars. It could earn a 4 by training there front desk on how to greet and deal with guests during check-in. The hotel is a little dated, older TV's, Cassette decks in the room, etc, But nonetheless They are pretty nice and spacious. I can't really complain for the price and proximity to Ft. Greeting upon check-in was subpar to that of a regular Marriott chain hotel. On top of that, the lady training a new staff was extremely rude towards her trainee. If you can't be a courteous mentor, don't teach. No one deserves to be talked down to with such a condescending/irritated tone. Customers are not going to be impressed by how you treat your new staff like that, either. I've worked in customer service for 4 years, and it takes a great deal of patience- this particular trainer lacked it. Everybody started from scratch at some point, and she needs to get off of her high horse and be more empathetic when training someone. The room is very reasonably priced, and there's complimentary breakfast. You can also obtain free coffee or tea from the lobby at any point in time. The AC unit is very loud, but it can't be helped when it's inside the room.. I woke up everytime it turned on. Fruit was not fresh and super soggy during breakfast, and the hotel ran out of tea bags. The hallways are extremely warm for some reason.. Tip to the front desk- when someone requests soap or a pillow via phone from a room, you should not ask whether he/she would like it delivered to the room or for him/her to go retrieve it himself/herself from downstairs. It just makes the employee sound lazy. Instead, you could explain it may take longer if it were to be delivered up to the room and that if he/she wants it immediately, he/she could retrieve it from downstairs without any wait. I usually stay at a Marriott or a Renaissance, and I choose Residence Inn or Courtyard before Fairfield Inn. I will try Springfield next time if I ever come to Lawton, OK again. read more

CREDIT CARD COMPROMISE! I stayed here last year and shortly after my credit card number was stolen. Stayed here last week and low and behold my credit card was compromised again. It appears they have a security breach or security issue. This was the only place I used my card this month and magically after staying here someone got my number. Advantages: - Cheap - Great amenities: breakfast, fruit bowl, infused ice water, complimentary coffee/tea bar - Well-cleaned by hotel staff - Comfortable and clean pillowtop bed, duvet, and down-alternative pillows - Hot shower with good water pressure Disadvantages: - Bad ventilation: room constantly humid and had a smell. Is that just what Lawton is like? Lawton is terrible. - Needs repairs: bathroom door aligned wrong on the hinges and I had to push with all my strength 3-5 times get it open or closed. Would have been difficult for a child, disabled adult, or elderly person. This is especially problematic since we were in the optional adjoining room (125) to the ADA accessible room on the first floor (123). - Wall thermostat disabled. - Hot tub closed for repairs. - Technical problems at the desk delayed us from officially checking in for the entire 3-night stay. - WiFi didn't kick on until morning after night #2. Confirmed with other guests that they experienced the same. From reading previous reviewers with stays in September 2019, I suspect the elevator must still have been broken, and that's why they assigned us this room on the first floor even though it obviously needs HVAC and carpentry work done. read more

Stayed here for 4 nights. Family member graduated from basic training. From the moment we walked in the staff was amazing. We even had a minor medical emergency and Arlasha, Kie and Jennifer treated us like we were members of their family. Rooms were clean and comfortable Loved the breakfast. Two women traveling felt very safe. I would absolutely recommend this site for anyone traveling to Ft. Sill graduation. read more

I stayed at this Fairfield Inn far more nights than I ever wanted or intended to. The continental breakfast offered a considerable variety of yogurt, waffles, bagels, etc. The only negative was Fairfield's management of its government rates. They had a certain quota of rooms allowed the government rate. A few nights, I received the lower rate and the other nights (in the same room!) I was charged the higher rate. It seemed nutty and I only found out about this after I received the statement. However, I would stay in this Fairfield again, AFTER confirming the rate. read more

We usually stay at the Springhill suites next door, but my boyfriend accidentally booked us here this trip. Beds are hard and creaky, not at all marriott's standard. Pillows aren't sturdy enough to be worth the effort...lots of pillows on the bed, not one worth having. They are essentially a cloth bag with a little bit of (balled up) batting inside, the batting shifts away from your head leaving you in a valley between 2 balls of batting, Floors creak, and we seem to have an elephant and hippo above us, they've finally settled down for night though. The rest of the hotel is well kept, with the exception of the porte-cochère used for check in...looks like a big truck hit it, and they left it with the gaping hole in it. read more

The bed was good and the room was clean, but we had a few major issues with our stay. First, the front desk staff was rude when we asked simple questions about our stay. We weren't asking outrageous questions- just normal questions you ask when checking in. The desk clerk spoke to us as if we were stupid. We also found a large bug in our bathroom and there were quite a few LARGE bugs in the hallway. The BIGGEST issue we had, is that when we went down for breakfast at 9am, there was nothing but empty plates/containers with an hour left of breakfast. Juice was gone, food was gone, even milk for cereal was gone. I'm pregnant and willing to eat about anything in the morning- but there was literally NOTHING. The staff was doing nothing to restock. It was overall an unfortunate experience and with what we had to pay to buy our own breakfast every morning, we should have just paid a little more to stay at a nicer hotel down the road. read more

We booked a stay recently. The air conditioner wasn't working in the room. After reporting this to the front desk, it was corrected. However, from the conversation I had with the front desk, it appeared they knew it wasn't working and placed us there anyway. We also experienced a clogged toilet. When we reported it to the front desk, we were given a plunger. There was no offer to send maintenance. Ultimately, the toilet overflowed and we cleaned it up ourselves. The freezer portion of the mini fridge was overwhelmed with ice which made for a noisy stay. The price to book direct was $82 per night. Our billing upon check out was $85 per night. I am a member of AAA and there did not appear to be any discount for that. Breakfast was good. The staff was nice but, not helpful. read more

I wish there was a negative rating available. I stayed at this location of Marriott after my first hotel in Lawton had bed bugs. I was visiting to see my boyfriend graduate boot camp for the Army. Carmelo, one of the concierges, checked me in and at first impression I thought he was a nice guy. The next morning after he saw me downstairs in the lobby to get breakfast (probably thinking I would eat downstairs), he went in to my room thinking he could steal or rape or place a camera, and once I got back to my room he was in there. He lied to me saying he was there for a clogged toilet but had NO PLUNGER. He didn't say he was in there until I was in the room for about a minute and heard noises in my bathroom. There was also "no service tag so he didn't know there was a clogged toilet" according to the manager, but if there was no service tag he shouldn't have told me he was in my room for a clogged toilet. Later they said he was supposed to go to room 219, I was 419. For a man who worked at a facility for 11-12 years, he should know his way around well. They are all liars, except Mariah. She was the only one who showed concern. Stay here if you would like to be manipulated and lied to, and if you'd like to put yourself at risk. They said I was going to receive a refund and I have been trying to get the refund because they are only giving me the go around. I stayed here almost 3 months ago. Michele is the manager, and she is absolutely terrible about getting back to you. Probably only if you have conflict because she would rather avoid it than get things handled. read more

This is what a hotel is suppose to be. Clean, attentive, and great customer service. I called for more towels and they got to the room in 5 mins. They also give complementary breakfast from 6-10. It includes eggs, sausage patties, cereal, oatmeal, make your own fresh waffles, yogurt, fruit, bread and juice. The only down is the work out room and the double bed rooms, it comes with full size beds, not queens like most hotels. The work out room is small but clean with new equipment. The work out room's a/c DOES NOT WORK. it was set to the lowest temperature and yet the room read 92°. I had to prop the door open with a weight to get it to cool down in there. After 10 mins it dropped to 88°. I could barely stand it. I was dripping in sweat and did my best to get in my cardio. Our room was a little small but it was a last minute booking. There was no more suites available, I'm assuming everybody booked it for the same reason we did, it was my nephew's graduation for basic training at Fort Sill. This place is a little over 5mi from base. I highly recommend this hotel but don't think the a/c in the fitness room will be fixed any time soon, I remember reading in another persons review that had the same issue 3mo prior to me staying here. Hope they fix it soon. read more

Spent one night of my life I will never get back at this facility. Check-in went well; otherwise a train wreck. Elected to take a shower later that night but had no hot water. Too tired to change rooms; I had a cold shower. Floor creaked horribly on the fourth floor and AC/HV unit had knobs taped. (?) Outside, there was some sort of construction with the sound(s) of excavation of some sort nearby, though it wasn't visible from the room. No matter, it was difficult to sleep on the worn mattress anyway. Next morning I opted for a cold shower and the entire shower handle fell apart in my hand. (Perhaps that is why the AC/HV unit knobs were taped?) The screw holding in the shower handle was so worn from chemicals it gave way. I took the unit to front desk for checkout and no one was there. I (literally) called the hotel from my cell phone to get an employee to appear from the back room. Explained the entire unhappy fiasco to her and handed over the shower handle. She apologized and said a manager would be in contact. No word. That was over 48 hours ago. I travel on business several days a year and Marriott was once my chosen vendor. After a poor stay in Evansville, IN. and now here---the corporation is losing my confidence---and my business. read more

My mom made a reservation a month ago. When she showed up Thursday they had given her room to someone else. I tried to book the room adjacent to hers and they said they would book it as soon as it opened up. Guess what? I had to be across the hall. My parents didn't get into their room Thursday. They gave them a room on the second floor. The beds were dirty and my parents left. We finally got in on Friday afternoon. We asked them to call when the rooms were ready. They never did. When my parents got into their room, their remote didn't work. It just seemed never ending. Oh and their compensation was, oh we will refund your points. Even though my parents had to stay in another hotel. We will NEVER stay there again. It is just not worth it for the price we pay there. read more
