This location is newer and was clean and has friendly staff. My 1 review is a warning to everyone BEWARE: OF HEAVY TOXIC PERFUME SMELL PUMPED THROUGHOUT BUILDINGS VENTILATION SYSTEM. As a woman whom suffers from chronic migraines it was a hellish experience immediately. While checking in after an evening flight I was choking on what I thought was the heavy stench of men's cologne from the front desk clerk...as I moved around the corner to the elevators and was holding my breath till the elevators doors opened the stench was far more stronger as I left the clerks desk!!!! As the elevator door opened on the 5th floor I was gagged by a much more powerful stench and at that moment my head was throbbing triggered by this horrible overpowering perfume stench similar to the men's cologne Drakar Noir I opened the door to my room and for the 3rd time and 3rd location in 3minutes my room, sheets, towels and curtains reaked of this Obnoxious heavy scent I could not escape. I had a migraine for the next 48hrs till I could rebook a room away from this toxic hell. I confirmed with the front desk and the next day that they do indeed use a scent throughout the hotels ventilation system . I understand in Las Vegas how each casino has it's trademark subtle scents that welcome visitors and disguise the scents of heavy smells of tobacco on gambling floors, however this was an all out gaseous harmful intrusive assault that triggered a medical migraine inside a building that has no windows that open or way to air out the room. Also messed with my sinuses burning while in their property. SHAME ON YOU AND your assumption that everyone who enters your property welcomed your singular taste in fragrance and not only was personally harmful to myself but would be toxic to small children or compromised respiratory clientele

I was ill over my stay so the quiet, comfort allowed me to sleep for hours on end. Staff were great and accommodating. SpringHill has always been my favorite Marriott hotel. My son got up to use the restroom in the middle of the night and killed a roach in the bathroom. The next day my grandson( 1yr) had bites on his stomach and arms from bed bugs. Besides that, I was not happy about how run down the front of the hotel looked. The pictures online make it look nice , which it isn't. The landscaping is terrible and unkept. The ground and surroundings to entrance are dirty, paint is faded and old . I wish I would left before spending the night there but our central air at our home stopped working and we were exhausted, hot and we had a toddler. If I wouldve known about the bugs .. we would've most definitely left immediately. I notified the hotel about the problem. I waited days for a response via email . When I got the email I was asked if the problem was solved . How could the problem be solved if this was the first time they contacted me? I told them of course it's not solved , I explained the issues again and asked for a refund. That was August 17 and still to this day they have not responded. This is thee worst experience and customer service I've ever had .

We also liked that there was a CVS nearby because we needed to pick up a couple of things. Our room was clean and comfortable. We were catching up to some of our friends that had gotten there the day before us so we got together downstairs where we found a perfect spot to hang out and visit. They also have a spot were you can get snacks, and sandwiches - kinda spendy, but convenient. But there are also other food spots nearby if you have a car. We all ended up at Rudy's barbecue, which was really good, and it wasn't too far away. The next morning, they were having some technical difficulties - something was up with their hot water, and their system was down so they had to write our name down on a clipboard when we checked out - but the gal at the front desk seemed to handle it like a champ, even though you could tell she was a bit frazzled! But other than that, it was a nice spot to stay the night, and the price was right! Oh, and as a side note -- I noticed they were pet friendly, which I thought was great. We're planning to do some roadtrips soon with our pups, so Courtyards by Marriott will definitely be my first choice of places to stay!

I had no real plans or itinerary but shout out to Dylan at the front desk who was extremely personable and knowledgeable about the area. Dylan gave great suggestion and recommendations for not only food but activities and truly went above and beyond to create a wonderful experience for my family. After reading reviews I was concerned about the beds but Dylan assured me and was positive he could accommodate me and he did not disappoint the bed was just fine. I would definitely recommend this hotel and location.

They even gave a meh Chinese Buffet next door that we hit up TWICE because it's popular with kidlets. The defunct mall also has a Sears still going and a cool comic book store. Best of all it has a cheap movie theatre. Score! I know some folks give out five star reviews like Kardashians take selfies. I try and make sure that 5 stars from me means something, especially if it's something you are going to spend a chunk of money on...like a hotel. Now to preface this: Last year we stayed at a dreadful place in Kemah that, to this day, gives me nightmares. This time I went out of my way to try to find the best deal on a great hotel. The reason this one popped up was because Texas City is strategically placed between Houston & Galveston and most people want to spend a bunch to stay near the water. Newsflash: Most of those hotels are stuff Gordon Ramsay's Hotel Hell are made of. Being close to the not-so-blue waters of Galveston typically means mold, smelly and expensive. I've had enough of paying inflated prices for places to sleep. Texas City may not be on water but it's a much better value. The hotel is weirdly situated next to defunct Ryan's Buffett and The Mall of the Mainland, which used to be a mall and is now better suited for you to hide in if the plot of Walking Dead takes place. It's HUGE BTW. The hotel itself is small, having three floors and one ice maker, a guest laundry room and a very small indoor pool (a pivotal thing for my family) and business center. We were greeted with friendly employees and a personalized chocolate bar with my name on it (nice touch). Now...I'm used to cleaning my hotel rooms before I use them, as I'm a weird one when it comes to sleeping in foreign places, but to my amazement the room was SPOTLESS. I'm talking you could eat off the bathroom floor (a.k.a. Terri's New Years spot) kind of clean. All the things I had requested (and was prepared to gripe about not getting) were there! Extra pillows, blankets, conditioner...it was all there! They put a hairdryer in the closet in case you go looking. We stayed for 4 nights and each day we returned to a perfectly clean room. We left tips each day and the staff always left a sweet card of thanks. The a/c was a freaking champ! After being out in 100 degree weather we returned to a perfect 68 degree room (I turned it down more at night) and chilly drinks thanks to the mini fridge. There's a microwave downstairs but not in room. You get HBO and a bunch of cable channels. The breakfast was better than expected. Real eggs, cheese omelets, bacon AND sausage, a waffle maker and cereal, fruit, coffee....it's all there. There's only one waffle maker so there's a bit of a wait there. Even though they have a 9 am close time for breakfast each day the sweet lady who refilled things made sure everyone who came down got food, even if they arrived at 9:05. I can tell you this hotel on my stay was quiet. The last night we stayed more people started arriving and it did start to get louder, but nothing that made me insane. We stayed during the week because it's cheaper. It's also less crowded. Free WiFi (choose the free option when you arrive, and be careful because there's a $5 a day option...it's the same speed) free parking and free breakfast at $80 a night make this an easy five stars. The employees were all impeccable and again...it's hard to find some place this clean. We will return!
