Beautiful condo with awesome views directly on beach and Gulf, no busy street to cross. Friendly staff and checkin was simple. Prices were reasonable in October. The only real downer was no washer/dryer in the unit, but they advertised a laundry facility in the building; however, when we asked where it was located, we were told that it was for condo owners only. read more

We had a beautiful unit on the 9th floor and were very pleased with the comfort of the condo. The pool and beach and hot tub are fabulous! The lobby is beautiful and amenities are good (small work out room, restrooms near pool, etc.) My only caution is that our door key apparently needed a battery. We returned one evening only to find that all four of our keys didn't work due to this issue. We told the person at the front desk, who informed us she couldn't find the master key. She called back one of the maintenance people who apparently took it home accidentally. All understandable, but we were told it would be 15 minutes...was closer to an hour. Managing expectations, particularly at the end of the day, is important to our over 60 group! read more

the customer service that I had received was extremely unprofessional no ice machine when searching and asking the front desk. His reply was that the water was not hooked up and they have not worked for quite some time. The phone in our room did not work and when I had brought it to his attention he just shrugged it off and said OK. All of the outside trash cans were overfilled and flowing over the top for the three days that we stayed there not to mention the 15 dollar parking per day to park in an empty parking lot as well as trying to connect to the Wi-Fi was a challenge tried contacted the front desk several times no answer as well as trying to check out early, the next morning no as well rang the bell several times and no one was anywhere to be found!!! We had a terrible stay at the Galvestonian. The staff are rude/unfriendly to guest and other staff. They struggle to communicate- Depending on who you talk to, you might get different answers and we found out that only certain people/shifts can answer certain questions. There were several things broken in our room and every time we called to get an update, they had no clue we put in a request. It appears that there is no follow-up between shifts. Things to also think about that I have never encountered before. If you are meeting people and visiting people in Galveston. They are not welcomed besides in your room. You can't hang out in the lobby or enjoy sitting by the pool. If you need a late check out. They charge you $25 per hour up to 2 hrs. If you have checked out, you are not allowed to stay in lobby or have your car parked on site, they will threaten to tow. It does have a great location to beach but bring bug spray. My kiddo got attacked by mosquitoes and had 16+ bites! read more

Free laundry, complimentary coffee, small workout center, large pool with lovely deck not to mention a fabulous secluded beach greeted us at the Galvestonian. The complex is on the quiet east end of the island. We stayed in a 12th floor condo with a spectacular unobstructed full ocean view. Our 1 bedroom condo #1208 was perfect for romantic getaway. Granite counters, travertine shower and nice comfortable furnishings. The kitchen was fully stocked Including dish soap. We found every thing we needed. The king bed is very comfortable I slept like a rock. The temperature of the condo was always comfortable and we loved sitting out on the lanai watching sunrise and sunset. You can even see the lights on the pier. Or just watch the ships go by. Many amenities included: grills can be reserved, bikes can be rented. Games by the pool. Books in the lobby. The is a lovely stone path the the beach lined with tropical flowering plant. The grounds are immaculate. Guests were quiet and friendly. It was not crowded while we were there. We never waited for an elevator which run quickly. The staff is wonderfully friendly and helpful. Everyone always greets you. The place is very welcoming. Great restaurants not too far away. We come to Galveston several times a year for family trips. This has been the worst stay of anywhere we have ever stayed in Galveston. We will not be staying here again and we will not recommend it to anyone. The biggest concern is the lack of communication. We chose a unit that had a washer and dryer pictured so we could laundry during our stay. There was a sign posted that both machines were broken and we were not told beforehand. Each time we asked the front desk we were told "We'll get back with you," but no one ever did. The worst was the construction. We were staying for 2 full days. On the first day the construction noises in a unit above us were so loud, we couldn't stay in our room. We weren't told of construction happening or work times prior to our check in. We initially thought something was messed up in our unit and we're searching for something to turn off to stop the noise before we were told it was construction. They were working until 4:30. With 2 toddlers, nap is important mid-day and was not possible due to the noise. It completely ruined the day. A simple email prior to check in to let guests know of construction and times could have helped tons the planning of our day and the worry that something could be wrong. When we asked the front desk and manager if we could switch rooms because of how loud the construction was, we were told "everyone everywhere is complaining of the noise." The noise could not be heard on the lobby or the second floor (we verified with several other guests staying across the second floor). They refused to let us change rooms and gave us the number to the general manager. We still have not heard back from the general manager. We were told there would be no construction during our second day here. There was hammering in the unit above us that woke us up during our nap time. If everyone would have just communicated and been honest, we could have resolved our problems and worked around the construction times. Instead we were pushed off to someone else, ignored, and lied to. What we had to deal with here is not worth it for any other positive amenities they may offer. read more

We had a great time at this hotel-like collection of condominiums. Our family wanted a small accommodation (sleeps 4 adults and 2 babies) that offered beach access and Galvestonian delivered. The Galvestonian is one of the pricier options in Galveston but it was worth it for us and we are so glad we decided against the many air b&b options in the area. The Galvestonian absolutely felt like a hotel with a large lobby, luggage carts and staff was friendly and fast. I personally loved the free coffee in the lobby and complimentary pastries and fruit at breakfast. We had to call maintenance and they arrived quickly and immediately resolved our problem. Because we have two small children, beach access was a must so we didn't have to pack sandy kids back into the car. It was great to walk straight from our condo to the beach. The beach access was amazing!! Complete with outside showers so you can wash off all that sand. The condo also had a beach view which was so relaxing. Our family visited the Galvestonian pool as well which was clean, convenient and kid friendly. I was worried the condo might not be well maintained but everything was in perfect condition. The Galvestonian also rents by unit so we could rent this exact unit in the future if we wanted. read more

We stayed four days at The Galvestonian in Galveston, Tx. The pool was down the whole stay. After paying them a generous amount for room and this amenity, we were given $100 refund, 5% of our cost. When I questioned them about this, they deducted our promotion discount stating it was more than fair but later attempted to give us a credit for next years stay when clearly after someones vacation was ruined, we will most likely not stay there again. BEWARE! If you consider staying here contact the front desk staff to clarify policy changes before arrival. An annual trip to the Galvestonian is a staple in my husbands family. They have been visiting every summer for 35 years. I have been visiting for 10 of them. We have stayed in countless one bedroom, two bedroom and three bedroom condos. The Galvestonian is dated. Most rentals have small bathrooms and tiny kitchens. We have stayed at nicer, newer and less expensive condos on west beach. What kept us coming back year after year is the amenities, views and friendly staff. Unfortunately, the Galvestonian no longer feels like home. Staff our flat out rude, maid service is no longer offered, the complex is not kid friendly and the atmosphere just feels tense. You are forced to wear a generic cheap green bracelet at all times to prove you are a renter. They use to offer fruit infused waters, coffees, donuts and snacks. Now they barely have a running ice machine. Our extended family was kicked out after checking out of their room at 11 am. (Mind you most facilities allow use of amenities the duration of the day after checkout and it is not clearly written in the packet of rules. May want to add that one to the stack.) We still had 6 rooms at the facility but were told they could no longer use amenities or be added to another room. Our 12 year old cousin was yelled at in the pool area and "escorted" to her parents. When her older adult brother protested since she is a minor they basically threatened to call the cops. She hadn't been rough housing or misbehaving at the pool. On top of that staff had the audacity to say they had to drive down and use public beach access to gather their belongings from the beach. Seriously? They literally look for ways to start fights with rental customers. I'm not sure what the goal is with management changes, but it is obviously not beneficial. I remember in years past they went out of their way to make our family reunions special. Even bringing a larger table for our family to gather in a 3 bedroom. The Galvestonian use to be the #1 condo rental on the Island. They are now third and will continue to get poor reviews unless the condo owners take action. If the goals of the condo association have changed then maybe consider ending rentals entirely? Next time you visit Galveston do yourself a favor and steer clear. There are many other options that are a better value and experience. Our recent visit has tainted all those years of fond memories. Unfortunately we won't be coming back. read more

We had an absolutely wonderful time in Galveston this past weekend, and I'm convinced that The Galvestonian was the best choice on the island for us. There were a few tiny things keeping me from a 5-star review, but I would definitely return, and recommend this place to others. The first thing to know is that it's located on East Beach, away from the strip on Seawall Blvd. where most everything else is. Though it makes trips to restaurants and the historical district a tad less convenient, it had a more private, relaxing atmosphere than the crowded popular areas. Also, they had a private beachwalk for easy access to the beach, rather than trying to J-walk across the busy Boulevard, as I assume people do on Seawall. Though most of the time we considered the seclusion a plus, it was kind of a bummer when we were stranded in a torrential lunchtime downpour and we didn't wanna brave the drive out to a restaurant, so we resorted to random vending machine food. In that case, it would have been cool if the place had it's own restaurant or cafe, but since it's mostly-privately-owned condos with full kitchens I can see why they don't. We loved our room, which had 2 private balconies overlooking the beach. It was clean, bright, and spacious, and the beds were SO soft and comfortable that it was no problem getting to sleep at all. The kitchen was fully fitted with all the pots/pans/dishes/cutlery one would need for a short or extended stay, which was nice. We also had a lot of fun renting bicycles from the front desk for a leisurely spin around the island, and you can also rent tennis rackets and balls (they have 2 courts on the ground level at the front). The Redbox-esque DVD rental selection was pretty nonexistant, so we were thankful that the bad weather didn't last long while we were there. I guess the bottom line is that, you're in Galveston for the beach, not to watch DVDs that you can see anywhere. All in all, I can say I'm a fan. Thanks for a great weekend! read more

Make No Mistake! This Is Not The Houstonian in Galveston! This is a 60-unit condo building with a nice lobby, reception desk, pool, beautiful mature landscape with multiple places for barbecue, a very peaceful and clean beach, and family-oriented people. Sixty percent of condos are used by their owners and only 40% of the condos are rented. I guess the only reason they call it a hotel is that you have a 24-hour reception desk, towels for the pool, chairs and umbrella for the beach ($35 per day must be reseved ahead of time) and daily housekeeping. They also have bikes for rent that is a nice feature. What is missing, big time, is a little bit of something to grab by the pool at lunch. Yes! Yes! These are condos but nobody was leaving the beach or the poolside to cook! People were ordering in or picking up and it was such a pain. Galveston was overcrowded. Traffic was awful and even to drive to a fast food took a couple of hours. They had what the called "reception" from 7-11 on Saturday and Sunday. Basically a few donuts in a plate, apples, oranges, bananas, and orange juice. There was always tea, and coffee (decaff too and hot) available. The place was quiet. Since only 40% of the place was for rent, even at its peak it was not crowded and at the pool and the beach you would still felt some privacy. Parking was outdoors and limited. We were never left without a space but we did spend some time circling around looking for one to become available. Wifi was free and working pretty well. They provided shampoo, conditioner, body wash, hand and bath soap. Since condos are individually-owned, I can only talk about the one we stayed at. It was clean, small, but well-lit and well-kept. The kitchen was well equipped and the condo was well-decorated. All condos have large balconies and beautiful views of the ocean. The water pressure in the showers were exceptional! Super! The manager provides his cell phone to every guest. That is impressive. And you even don't need to call! I just brought his name up and in less than two minutes "we are totally sold out of chairs and unbrellas turned into "we just found a couple of chairs and umbrellas". And without calling him he already knew I intended to do so. He came by, introduced himself and made sure the issue was resolved and as we were checking out he showed up again, shook hands and thanked us for staying. Now that is customer service! The place is quite pricy. Is it worth it? It depends. For me and my daughter, it provided a sense of security as if we were in a hotel. If you are a bigger family, you can rent a house probably for less. read more

The staff here harassed and scared my 12 year old daughter. When we checked into our unit, we had to wait a long time before it was ready. We were asked to stay in the lobby, not able to use to pool or beach access. However, we were promised late check out due to our inconvenience. On the day of check out. My daughter was in the room by herself 11 minutes past normal check out time. The manager showed up at the unit door with an intimidating man and another person and entered the unit. They demanded my daughter call my husband and I immediately to vacate the room. They didn't care that we had been promised late check out, apparently the front desk worker who told us that "didn't have that authority". They stood around my daughter and watched as she nervously called us to come to the unit. They confronted me as I approached the room and let us know we were "violating policy". Note that at this point we were only 15 minutes past regular check out time. We moved our things out and went to our adult son's room (who was staying 2 more nights). My daughter went to the pool with him and his toddler children. The management came to the pool and told her that she could no longer be in the pool area because she had already vacated her unit. They made a scene, confusing and scaring both my daughter and the toddlers. She was embarrassed and terrified as she was escorted by a woman and an intimidating man watching over her in the elevator to the unit my husband and I were waiting in. The two stood at the door while we gathered our things and then they escorted us out of my son's room and off of the property. There were other horrible incidents we had with the management during this trip. I have never been treated so poorly at any establishment. Anyone with underage children needs to know how they may treat your children if you stay here. read more

We liked that this is a pretty property with a quiet, laid back vibe, and also you don't have to walk across the busy Seawall blvd to get to the beach, The pool is really large with lots of furniture around it, and there's a big hot tub .... If it's not so hot outside in Texas heat that you actually want to get in hot water LOL! . Our family enjoyed spending the day back & forth from pool to beach, and rather than go out to eat or cook on the condo, we got the most out of the day by grilling on the bbq pits btwn the beach and pool. What we liked was that everyone can enjoy their time and do their own thing, without some of the crazy loud stuff and didn't have people crammed everywhere. If you want a party vibe w rocking music by the pool, this probably isn't your place. But if you enjoy a clean pool and clean beach with great views, look no further. The staff was friendly and helpful, and we appreciated having clean towels to use at the pool - you could exchange wet or sandy towels from fresh ones at the 24 hour manned front desk. No matter what condo you stay in, the views are beautiful, with floor to ceiling windows and huge sliding doors. Do take a look at pics bc all units are individually owned and decorated, but no matter which one, the views are spectacular! Nice place and we will for sure choose it again. read more

My family and I have stayed here many times over the past ten years. It's been a favorite getaway location for many reasons including its location. However, our most recent stay will likely be our last. The resort is showing its age and the (new?) management team did not provide the level of service we had become used to. Issues with the facility we experienced included a parking lot under repair, a gym with no AC, a leak in the main lobby that lasted our entire stay, and a fire alarm that went off with very little explanation or communication from staff. The biggest issue however was the pool. We were told before we arrived that the pool was undergoing maintenance and was currently closed but we'd get a 15% discount for each night of our stay that it wasn't available. We arrived late on our first day after doing some other things as we were told the pool was closed. Upon arrival, the pool was open. It was closed the next day and was closed most of our stay. At checkout we were told we would not be receiving the 15% discount as promised, but just a 5% discount. We will be returning to the East end of Galveston for future family vacations, but will be finding other accommodations. read more

Under new management, it is no longer family-friendly to the extent that the pool allows nothing but quiet, adult wading - no floats or toys of any kind - and no playing. Owners have shared that music is disallowed, even on a personal iPhone. It now makes sense why there seems to be no one else stating this week. read more

The Galvestonian is a great resort on the east end of Galveston. My fiancé and I have enjoyed spending time here over the last year. As you'll see in other reviews there is an awesome pool, beach access with showers, grills, hammocks, pool chairs, etc. the Galvestonian really has everything you need for a romantic getaway, a family vacation, or anything in between. All of these things equip you for a good time, but I think what really makes the Galvestonian special is the service. The staff are amazing. They keep the grounds pristine. They always have beautiful flowers potted all around the building, the grass is always mowed, and the lobby is spotless. There is someone posted at the front desk 24/7 to help with any issues you run in to and keep the place safe. The best part is they are all so friendly and they even had a bottle of Prosecco waiting for my fiancé and I at the front desk when we got engaged out on the beach! read more

We needed a getaway quick and with the help of yelp I found this place not far from me. This place was so awesome that we didnt leave except to eat dinner. The condo we were in came equipped with everything we needed. Not one thing was even the slightest bit negative. This place rates a 10 on my awesome-o-meter and we will be back. This is the same review I left on TripAdvisor: I'm more of a review reader than writer, but our stay was so perfect that I felt the need to share our experience. From our first step in the door to our last step out, it was wonderful. My husband and I stayed in unit 107, and were delighted with every aspect of our visit. We were welcomed (sincerely!) every time we walked into the lobby, and the staff were genuine and helpful in answering questions and providing suggestions. Even from our low floor, we had a beautiful view of the beach. As a bonus to being on a low level, we could smell the tropical flowers with every hint of breeze. It reminded me SO MUCH of my last visit to Jamaica - the air was just softly perfumed. (Kudos to the hardworking groundskeepers - I'm a very early riser and could see them tending plants by 7:00 every morning. It's obvious that they really care about the health and beauty of the vegetation.) The walk to the beach took maybe three leisurely minutes from the lobby, over a lovely boardwalk. The beach was very clean and wasn't crowded (we did stay Monday-Wednesday, so I can't promise anything to the weekenders). The unit was well stocked with everything we could possibly need (shampoo, soap, dishes, even a little dishwasher), and plenty of beach towels were available in the lobby. We ate out at every meal, but the fridge came in handy to store leftovers for snacking. It's in a relatively secluded area, so we did have to drive everywhere; however, it was definitely worth it - we didn't have to hear any loud partying or drunken beachgoers. During our stay, most of the guests were retired couples and a few families with thankfully well-behaved children. We couldn't ask for more, and we'll definitely, certainly, positively be back to Galveston, to the Galvestonian, and to unit 107! read more

BEAUTIFUL STAY!!! We had beach front, huge, beautiful condo with an unobstructed view of the Gulf. We had two huge decks, plenty of fresh ocean air, and we kept windows open all night. Huge king size bed with full view of ocean and a beautiful view of the Ferris wheel on the pier (far enough to enjoy the wheel lights at night, but far enough away, zero noise/crowds, plenty of parking. We looked at several properties, but this is by far the best! Galvestonian is only one actually on the beach, no busy road in front like the other hotels had, private beautiful beach, heated outdoor pool and jacuzzi. Front desk staff very helpful and attentive. We liked that there is no bar/restaurant on site because those usually attract noise and bad behavior. We had full kitchen and we enjoyed trying restaurants in the area. Great get away! Very relaxing!!! Highly recommend!!!! read more

Stayed here for a few days during Christmas with my wife's parents and sister. We rented a 3 bedroom unit so that everyone could have their own space. The location is great, right on the beach and away from the main beach. Although, it was December so there were no crowds anyway. The unit was nicely furnished and we took advantage of the full kitchen one night. Would definitely recommend this place. read more

A bit disappointing. For the price, we expected more. The people at the front desk seemed young and uniformed. When asked about places to eat around town, they didn't know much about the city. In fact, I asked about eating on the pier, and they didn't know if Galveston had a pier. In the room, the front bedroom was plenty cool, but the back bedroom was very warm. Mosquitoes were everywhere, but that's not the fault of the resort. The handles on the faucets in the kitchen were very loose. We had to leave a day early, and at $540 per night, the policy is not to refund any monies. So, we left anyway. read more

I'd like to start by saying this is a beautiful establishment and my family has been planning family vacations here for almost 30 years. However, under new management, this year they decided they no longer wished for us to be coming back. After checking out, my family and I went out to the pool, the manager and co manager of the building came out to us, we were sitting in the pool minding our own, and threatened to call the police if we did not get off the premises of the Galvestonian immediately. To which we responded that we still had other family in other rooms staying for a few more nights and we had our things in their room and we're going back to change, and that we still had tents and chairs on the beach. They responded by saying we must pack up our things and leave immediately- and for what? We were not causing any issues nor were we blatantly trespassing. The management said if we wished to gain access to the beach we could not use the Galvestonian causeway anymore and we must drive to a public causeway and walk from there to obtain our items we left on the beach. Other than being escorted off the property and threatened to have the police called on us I'd say it was a great trip! Also. The management did not abstain from yelling at my 12 year old sister to "find your parents Now!" While she was merely playing with my 3 and 4 year old nieces in the pool. Absolutely unbelievable that they wished to have us off of the property so immediately after we had just checked out from our 4 night stay this morning, but not only this, the manager felt it necessary to drive my 12 years old sister half to tears as well. read more

Really nice place to stay! My family and I came here for New Years this year and it's the third or fourth time we've stayed here. Friendly, helpful staff, beautiful rooms, and always a beach view. First floor is really on the second level so you can always get a good view of the ocean. Hot tub makes for a relaxing evening even in cold months. read more

The Galvestonian is a great place to stay - I'm definitely glad I decided to book based off of Yelp and TripAdvisor reviews. There were only a few minor things that lowered this review from five stars to four. Fantastic Things: 1. You get to pick out your own condo. This is pretty cool. Each condo is different, and they have several types. I opted for a one bedroom, (not a one bedroom deluxe). I found one that looked decent to me, and booked it. Each unit has a bedroom, a fully stocked kitchen, an ocean view with balcony, and other great amenities that are a lot like staying at a Worldmark. There were no hidden resort fees upon check in, which is really a great thing. So often you get hit with these and it really sucks. Not here - thank you for this! 2. Heated pool and hot tub, big grassy picnic area with a fire pit, a nice gym. Groomed beaches with available chairs and umbrellas, (we'll get to my beef with this particular thing in a moment). The lobby was beautiful as well, it was a great set up. Everything from the room to the amenities were super clean, and well taken care of. 3. Staff was friendly, courteous, and helpful when needed, with quick check in and check out. The Not So Fantastic Things: 1. My one bedroom bed was super small. It was supposed to be a queen bed, and I'm pretty sure it was a double. Queen was really a stretch of the imagination. For those wondering, I was in unit 505. The bathroom was also a bit small. The lighting in the bathroom was dim, and the placement of the toilet paper roll drove my boyfriend and I nuts. While the water temperature was great, the water pressure could have been better. 2. The elevators were sometimes super busy and you'd wait around five minutes for one to come. This was mainly around check in and check out times. We suspected families with kids carting in their large loads of stuff were gumming up the bank of three elevators - there was no other reason this should be happening. 3. Continental Breakfast? Try doughnut holes, mini muffins, coffee, juice. I'm not sure why they bother offering this. 4. The beach chair and umbrella rental service was unfortunately very flawed. Here's the deal - you pay $35 to rent one of their sets, (two chairs, one umbrella) for the day. They have around, (oh I don't know) 15? available and of course they sell out every day. And a lot of them sit empty most of the day. Everyone else goes on a waiting list. The thing that really miffs me about this is that it is a whole day rental, and space is so limited. So in the middle of the summer, they don't have anywhere near enough for everyone to rent, and those who do rent hog them for the day - and many of them don't even show up but for an hour or so. You know, if you broke this up into half days or three hour time frames and charged $15 or so instead, you'd be making the same amount and you'd be able to give more people a chance to use them. The current system here is silly and it needs to change. Either that or have enough so that everyone who wants one can rent - its not like you don't have the beach space. We did have a wonderful stay here - and considering the price of other places around the island, The Galvestonian was a great value and I would definitely stay here again. They get 2 stars for beautiful grounds, picnic tables and a nice pool. The front desk was unhelpful with non working keys, broken appliances and even check in was late. Maintenance did a half ass job even after multiple requests to repair the condo issues. Don't expect your children to be welcomed at the pool. The employees were officially named the fun police during our visit. We won't be back which is a shame because the beach was beautiful read more

My daughter and I stayed in the Galvestonian for three nights, it was very clean and the staff was extremely helpful. We stated in room 707 it had an old chair in the living room, however we were able to have it removed..........such an eyesore. The drain In the tub was slow draining, so the plumber had to be called on that.........all in all, everything was okay and what wasn't the staff took care of quickly. We will be back!!!!!!!!!!!!! My wife and I really enjoyed our stay at the Galvestonian. It was very clean and the staff was friendly and helpful. Our condo was just what we wanted. And you really can't beat having quick access to a private beach. The pool is also really nice if the beach isn't your thing. We would definitely stay here again! read more

A lady from the front desk came out this evening and said to my brother and 8yr old son "there is no playing allowed in the pool." That about sums up our week long pool time here. Since we have been here, we have been told to remove toys from the pool including noodles, toy boats (less than 10 inches long and entirely made of light plastic), floatie things, etc. Tonight was nuts - they can't just play?! The two of them?! If you have kids, don't come here. If you don't have kids and want to go where kids are highly discouraged, then you should come here. read more

We stayed in a completely renovated 2 bedroom condo on the second floor that offered a fantastic view of the Gulf of Mexico. Total cost for our 2 night weekend stay was approx $600. Parking was ample and only a short walk from the front doors. There were several luggage trolleys in the foyer making unloading our car a breeze. The front desk folks were efficient and personable, giving us maps of the island as well as info on attractions/ restaurants. The lobby area was incredibly clean. There were several seating areas w/ tables...a coffee and tea self service area...an exercise room...large pool (kept at 86 degrees) with hot tub just off the lobby. The beach was clean and only a short walk away over a wooden foot bridge. The hotel sets up chairs and umbrellas beachside. Each unit is decorated differently but the ones we peeked into all looked up to date and nice. The thing that really stood out about the Galvestonian was the cleanliness and service. No matter what time we were out, we saw staff cleaning and working. Outside there are BBQ grills, hammocks, beach wagons, games, bikes... This is a great location for your family vacation as it is close to The Strand and sea wall restaurants. read more

15 years ago, I visited Galveston with two cranky kids under age four and spent the weekend scrubbing tar balls off their feet and cursing under my breath. I vowed never to return and, subsequently, spent my Texas coast time in Rockport and Port Aransas. This past week, we did a corporate retreat at the Galvestonian because a friend found us a good rate. I was hesitant to go, but the price was good. Boy am I glad I went. Incredible building in great shape with resort-level amenities. From covered hammocks and a beautiful pool to a groomed beach with abundant fish in the water, this place is a FIND. We will be back very, very soon. read more

Decent room for the price. Only complaints were the mold on the AC vents and the radioactive mosquitoes. Bring your bug spray!

Just had a wonderful weekend at The Galvestonian. Staff is excellent. The view is to die for. Wish I could afford to stay there all the time. Hopefully visiting again soon. read more
