The furniture was dusty. The paint was peeling from the wall. The restroom in the pool area was locked the entire time. The amenities don't work in all the rooms. Watch out for that one. Not enough baggage carts to accommodate guest. The staff was not very accommodating at all. No manager on site the whole three days I visited to help with the situation.

Our recent stay - Very poor experience at this hotel. The security lock was broken from the door, stains were on the bathroom floor, dirt marks on nearly all the walls, dog food in the corner of the room, and the a/c cooled but the hotel room was extremely humid. The staff was almost nonexistent (when they were present rarely looked up from their phones), pool was dirty and the weight room was missing half the free weights and the treadmill was not operating properly. The security door on the hotel to the pool consistently failed to lock making the hotel open to whomever wanted to enter. The staff appeared to make no security checks. I understand the owner of the property may live in Canada, but for a "local" hotel as the only hotel in the city to be this poorly run is terrible.

The overall feel of the property to me is kind of dark and worn, maybe even a little bit grimy. There was more than one occasion where the flooring in the main areas was kind of sticky and you don't know if that's because someone spilled something or because the cleaning staff doesn't know how to mop well. Also to be fair, I was rarely here during daylight hours as I was busy so the majority of my time here was early morning or evening. The suite itself was fine, nothing fancy, but there was plenty of room. The space is definitely usable and there's a little kitchenette and a desk that I was able to work at. There is also a large couch. The space with the bed in it was probably my favorite as it had good windows and lighting in that area. I was glad for the kitchenette because even though I was there for a week, I never actually tried the breakfast that they offered. They had a a laundromat area with washers and dryers which is good for somebody staying longer like me, but I ultimately didn't use it because there was just kind of a creepy vibe and I didn't want to be sitting there for hours waiting on my laundry and I didn't feel super safe leaving it and going back to my room. If you need to wash your clothes, it is really nice to have it there on site though so you don't have to go to a laundromat. They also have a pool and hot tub on site, which initially seemed like a nice bonus and something I definitely packed for and planned to use. Unfortunately, they weren't really usable during my stay. I did go out to the area twice but there were tons of crickets and bugs all over. On the cement and in the pool in the hot tub and it just didn't feel clean. I definitely felt like they neglected this area and it was the only relaxing feature I was looking forward to. So I was quite disappointed because I just didn't feel comfortable using the facilities. The price was decent, the parking was easy and ample, and it didn't take me long to get to the places that I needed to go. I don't know if I would stay here again; I would probably try something else in the area but for all the negatives, it still got the basic job done.

It's located in the same parking lot as another hotel so be sure to read the signs and dont try to check into the wrong one like I almost did. I appreciate the shuttle it took us to the Riverwalk and comes every 1/2hr to pick up. Super convenient especially in the hugh congested area. I appreciate Bryon at the front desk he was very welcoming and accommodating.

After a nightmarish ordeal in another hotel, we ended our stay early there and booked the rest of our stay here. WE REGRET NOT BOOKING HERE TO START. The hospitality is above and beyond. We left our other hotel abruptly in the morning (I hadn't even showered yet) and THANKFULLY Drury Plaza Stone Oak was able to GET US INTO A ROOM RIGHT AWAY (despite check-in being like 3pm)!!!! SO GRATEFUL. The girl at the desk was absolutely amazing! So friendly. So helpful. This hotel is GORGEOUS. The photos listed don't do it justice because this hotel was recently renovated (I believe the girl at the desk said August 2025). They did an AMAZING job with renovations. Our room was a 2 room King Suite and it was PERFECT! Everything was clean and crisp! New carpet, nice furniture. Bed was comfy. Kids slept on pullout sofa. Shower was huge! We were lucky to have an 85-degree day in early January and got to utilize the rooftop pool!!! Plenty of seating! Lounge chairs were awesome. We didn't partake in the kickback as the meal didn't fit our family's needs but we do like the option of having a "free dinner". We got back to the hotel at 8:15pm and unfortunately, missed the popcorn and soda... didn't know it ends at 8pm. Breakfast was pretty amazing. I never eat hotel scrambled eggs because they're always a weird texture... but we just discovered that Drury MAKES THEIR SCRAMBLED EGGS FRESH!!! They don't come out of a bag like those cheap hotels. They have a flattop griddle and make them fresh!!! They tasted AMAZING. We also watched a worker make fresh pancakes on the same griddle. We also enjoyed pork sausage, hard boiled eggs, kids had potatoes, they didn't make homemade waffles but those are really good too. The dining area was very spacious, plenty of seating. We literally regret not booking this hotel from the get-go but we know now that this is our go-to San Antonio hotel! Can't wait to return!
