This is a fantastic hidden gem for business travel in the greater Seattle/'Pugetropolis' region. Centrally located. Very close to light rail access (walking distance) and close to the airport. Very clean, recently updated, and conveniently located. The staff is excellent. Very friendly, professional and accommodating. Even the breakfast is well above average. I have stayed at probably 75% of the hotels along the 99 near the airport and it has always been a bit of a 'crap shoot' in terms of value for the money and overall property conditions. The hotels in this area tend to run in the range of 'ok/fine' down to 'downright sketchy' to 'multiple felonies in progress any time of the day or night'. This property is definitely in the top 5%. The staff are very polite, courteous, and friendly. That's the only reason they get 2 stars instead of 1. This is just a very poorly designed hotel. On my most recent visit, the front desk clerk was very excited to tell me I got to stay in one of the NEWLY RENOVATED rooms! Whoever designed this hotel is a moron and should be fired. The newly renovated room LOOKS very nice and modern, but severely lacks in functionality. 1. As I wrote in my previous review, the bathroom sink is IN the room with the beds, so you can't get up and shave or brush your teeth without waking up your family still in bed. 2. To make 1. above worse, the new fancy bathroom sink vanity has HUGE-ARSE, BRIGHT-AS-THE-SUN LIGHTS that light the room up like an NFL football stadium. So if the sound of running water at the sink doesn't wake your family up, the lights will surely make them think the room is on fire. There's no dimmer either. It's either BLINDINGLY-BRIGHT or OFF. 3. To add a surprising element of shock when you're trying to make a middle-of-the-night trip to the toilet, they have installed a motion sensor on the light switch in the toilet and shower room. Although it points away from the door, the motion sensor sees you in the reflection of the glass shower door. Go anywhere near the open door and it is going to turn the switch on, again BLINDING you with full-force brightness with no dimming option. 4. As an added BONUS, the motion sensor light switch in the water closet ALSO turns on the FAN! Now normally I give hotels a plus up in my ratings when they have a fan in the bathroom. In this case though, the designer of this place spared NO expense. He wanted to be DARN sure your family was awake as well as anybody in the adjacent rooms because who needs sleep? They installed the INDUSTRIAL strength fan so that even if you were wearing a sleep mask to protect your eyes from the automatic blinding lights, you will be fully awakened by the roar of the fan. 5. After frantically smashing your hand around on the wall with your eyes squinted shut from the blinding light, your hand finds the light switch and turns off the light and fan. (You can push a button to turn OFF the motion sensor light and fan, but it will turn on again next time you walk by the open door.) Just as the adrenaline has subsided, your heartrate has returned to normal, and you think you might be able to slip back into bed and fall back to sleep, you finish your business and push the flush level. Once again, the designer of the newlly remodeled room SPARED NO EXPENSE and is probably saving a lot of money not having to ever call for a plumber, because the toilet is an industrial strength BEAST that induces Aquaman-strength water vortex and a WHOOSH that will again wake up anyone in the adjacent rooms. 6. I've made reference to waking people in adjacent rooms not out of speculation how loud it was in my room, but based on personal observation of how much I could hear from the people in the rooms on either side of me. I think the walls are paper thin. If I had renovated the hotel, I might have considered adding some noise dampening materials. I was also awakened by someone getting ice out in the hallway and by two airplanes that flew over (but it is the AIRPORT hotel, so I can't really complain about that, can I?). 7. So you get up in the morning to take a shower. This time you anticipate the motion sensor light and fan and quickly smack the switch to turn it off as soon as it comes on. Your next challenge: Closing the bathroom door. Maybe the designer of this room was a yoga instructor or contortionist. There is no room for the door to swing by the toilet without you either straddling the toilet (legs on either SIDE of the toilet) or by getting IN the shower and then closing the door. You might want to wear some close-toed shoes to protect your toes from the first few times you try to close the door in dumbfounded disbelief that they designed the bathroom such that you can't stand IN the bathroom and close the door. 8. Then, because you haven't had your coffee yet and you don't think about these things until AFTER you turn off the shower and look around, you discover they don't put the TOWELS in the same room with the SHOWER. So now you have to do the reverse of your awkward stepping over and around the toilet to open the door, cautious not to stub your toe on the door again, only now you have the added pleasure of being naked and wet and afraid of slipping on the tile floor in order to retrieve a towel from the sink area out in the room where your family is trying to sleep. 9. The icing on the cake. This newly-renovated room has an annoying dearth of POWER OUTLETS. There's NO POWER OUTLET on the night stand for crying out loud!!! I had to get down on my hands and knees to find a plug under and behind the night stand. Seriously? Newly Renovated? Gimme a break. Fairfield should sue the designer for their incompetence. read more

Families traveling with kids: There is a splash park and playground at Angle Lake Park two blocks away by Hampton Inn. We saw many locals swim at that lake too. Seattle Express, which isn't affiliated with Marriott, will pick you up from this and other area hotels to drop you off at Westfield Southcenter Mall which has many choices for shopping and dining; however, we had to get an Über back because they failed to pick us up from the mall. read more

DO NOT LEAVE YOUR CAR HERE! My partner left his car there from April 10-15, 2021. His car was parked near the front lobby. Somehow his car got broken into. His back window was smashed open. I understand it's "park at your own risk" policy. But your hotel has NO SECURITY CAMERAS at all?!?! Nor even a security guard?! Your hotel is literally by the airport you'd figured that hotel would have some kind of security guard checking for people's car incase there's cars parked there that shouldn't be cause their hotel is so close to the SEA airport. Even worse they didn't contact my partner about his car being broken into. WE had to call to find out (4/14/21) cause my friend who booked my partner the hotel got a call from the hotel about the fees for over night parking and they threaten us about towing his car though the morning my partner left the hotel the front desk gave him a yellow paper to put on his dash board to avoid towing. This place is ridiculous. You'll call us about overnight parking fees but NOTHING bout someone's car being broken into?! You know what has to happen when a horse breaks its leg .... This property is clean, inexpensive and well-run, but beyond its useful life and an embarrassment to Marriott and it's Fairfield brand. A few examples: Narrow, dark halls painted kindergarten orange give the impression of Jack Nicholson in 'The Shining' This is a stick-built hotel (rather than a Steel/concrete slab building. Aside from fire risk, that means it is creaky and there is poor noise insulation between rooms and floors. The bathrooms in the standard rooms are 5x5 and do not include the mirror/sink - which is in the smallish sleeping space. On the positive side, they've upgraded the toilet flushing mechanism: it is positively Prussian and will suck a cat right down. If you're in the habit of remaining seated when you flush, I STRONGLY recommend you hold your, er, bits when you operate the lever... This horse is injured; pull the trigger Marriott. read more

Room was comfortable, clean and well maintained. There's a light rail station a block away for easy access to get downtown Seattle. Have a good complimentary breakfast. Moderately priced. Friends were jealous because they stayed at Days Inn just up the road which was just about same price but their hotel was a dump. I am a Marriott rewards member and stay at a lot of Marriotts. This hotel had very limited parking and the parking it did have was very small in space. The rooms were small considering most Marriotts. As soon as you walk in the room you are standing in the bathroom. The beds and room looked clean initially however the shower hadn't been cleaned. We found a used bar of soap in the shower. The hotel was quiet and it was easy to sleep. The continental breakfast was great. The food was warm and good. I stayed at this location 2 separate dates, before and after a cruise out of Seattle. At check in, we were told an insulting amount of time that checkin was not until 4 pm. I finally turned to James and said "Yes, I am aware. But can you please just hold out luggage and let us know when it is available?" He went on the computer and said "oh, there are rooms ready - here are your key cards." Checkin honestly took the better part of an hour. We were hungry, tired, and just flat out annoyed. I was informed by the man at the front desk, James, that everything I was told originally over the phone was "actually not true". There is no shuttle to the cruise port, their shuttle only takes you in a 1 mile radius. He offered the shuttle they do provide that you have to pay for. Okay, whatever we have no choice and take the information. Well the next morning we go to get the shuttle and the other guy at the front tells us it only runs two times 10:30 am and 12:30 pm. Another thing that was not communicated to us. We had to spend $100 on an uber because we needed to be at the port by 9:30. Breakfast was disgusting. If this was the case, we would have booked a location closer to the port for an extra $100 instead of this place. The rooms were mediocre, did not feel too clean but were fine for one night after traveling from NY. I should have listened to my gut telling me to cancel the night stay for after the cruise a week later because that was 10X worse. We got off the ship and paid for another uber at $100. We got to the hotel at 10:30 am and again we were informed of the checkin time. It was early, we understood but asked them to check if any rooms were available anyway just in case. The woman at the front was SO rude. Rooms weren't available, they held our luggage and we sat in the breakfast area...FOR 5 HOURS!! For 5 hours we watched DOZENS of couples and families checkin and have a room available....we counted the amount of people given keys and headed to their rooms. Finally I went up to the desk and asked for an update, advised that my fiancee was sick and really needed to get into a room. Well she informed us again nothing was ready as James told the guy checking in next to me that there were two rooms available, which one did he want. I was furious. We door dashed lunch, ran to the supermarket - with the uber because the shuttle doesn't go beyond 1 mile radius. 5 hours later, the woman at the desk calls me over and tells me the rooms are ready. We booked 1 King room, 1 double Queen bed room. We were informed there was no double queen bed rooms available anymore...well yeah, because you gave them all away to everyone who walked in after us! We booked double queen beds for that room for a reason, so we had to PURCHASE a 3rd king bed room. I informed the lady that the queen bed room was more expensive than the kind and confirmed that we would get refunded the difference. She said yes. Well, here we are 2 weeks later and multiple phone calls to the hotel, we were charged for the more expensive queen room that we did not get and no one will call me back. I have filed a dispute with the credit card company as the last resort. Went out to breakfast the next morning at 8 am and everything was empty!! At that point we were so annoyed, tired, half of us were not feeling well, and we just headed to the airport to eat breakfast there. If I knew all the extra money I would have spent, between transportation to the port, breakfasts because there was empty, and an extra room because they did not have the room we reserved 4 months ago available, we 100% would have stayed else where. I am a travel agent and specialize in Alaska Cruising. I book hundreds of families a year to cruise out of Seattle and I will NEVER book a client at this hotel and will tell all my travel agent friends about this experience as well. 14 days, still waiting on a call back from the GM, the email address the woman on the phone gave me for the GM bounced back and whenever I call the GM is not available. I will continue to post my review everywhere for others and will let my credit card company deal with the dispute. read more

For our first time ever in Seattle, this has got to be the best Marriott I have ever had the pleasure of staying in! When we finally arrived at the hotel to check in, we were greeted by the lady at the front desk, who was also the one to check us in. She was extremely friendly and helpful. She answered all of my questions about getting around downtown and let me know that they are all willing to help answer any other questions. One of my favorite people was our shuttle bus driver, Jama! We was extremely friendly and helpful. We built such a great friendship with him in the 3 days that we were there. Whenever my boyfriend and I saw him, we were EXCITED TO SAY HI! He gave us a few tips about the city, as well as dropped us off the the link light rail station daily, wished us a great day, and sometimes even picked us up! I loved how he was excited to hear our stories daily! He was just 2 THUMBS UP! We hope to see you again, Jama! One of the perks to this hotel was eating free Continental breakfast! The downside was it was from 7am-10am I believe. So, I had to get woken up by my boyfriend or else I didn't eat! Lol. I am already planning my next trip to Seattle, and I hope to stay here again! What can I say? Worst experience with Marriott. All other experiences have been great...until now. Got bumped off our flight to San Francisco and was given a hotel voucher for $59/night. I called this hotel per instructions on voucher. I spoke to Erica. I explained what I had..she said no problem, come in and bring a credit card. We show up, show voucher and Erica declines it. She spent 5 minutes yelling at me as to why I had the voucher...I looked at her puzzled. I explained we had talked earlier. She said the airline should not have given it out. I asked why she told me to come to the hotel over the phone if she was not going to hinor it...she then says the best I can do is $190 a night....ah the bait and switch. So instead of providing customer service, I was blamed for trying to use a voucher from the airline. Made to wait for an hour while she "checked" with the airline regarding authentication. A great deal for a great price! We had 3 rooms at this hotel on our 4 night visit to Seattle and had no complaints from any guests. The beds are comfortable and the staff is great. The pool is clean and warm and the hot tub isn't overly hot. We found our rooms (all facing the airport) to be exceptionally quiet. We didn't hear anything from people above or beside us or the planes. The rooms are not spacious but are still adequate. We had 2 adults and 2 children in one room along with two large suitcases and several carry-on bags and still managed fine. The showers have good water pressure though my husband found the shower heads to be a bit short (he's 6' 2"). The free breakfast is perfect if you know it's FREE. Cereals (4 options), muffins, bagels, toast, freshly-made waffles (make-it-yourself type), Dole fruit cups, fresh bananas and apples, and coffee, juice, and milk. The microwavable Jimmy Dean breakfast sandwiches aren't amazing but, it's FREE folks (pretty good for a hotel without a kitchen)! If you want an amazing breakfast, you'll have to PAY for it! Breakfast starts at 5AM on weekdays and 6AM on weekends. There is a dedicated staff to clean and manage the breakfast area so it stays quite clean. The lobby has complimentary coffee, tea and hot chocolate all day. The front desk staff scheduled a car for us for our departing day as we were going beyond the hotel to the nearest Amtrak station. I was concerned the reservation might be forgotten but the driver showed up as requested and delivered us to the train station for the quoted price. My kids loved the muffins and pool. It's not the Hilton, but, if we're in the SeaTac area again, we'll definitely be booking a room! read more

Room was very dated but served its purpose. Cheap and close to the hotel, stayed here cause of a layover, would not stick around longer than a night. Ok spot for short term stay or if you want to be close to the airport. Carpet was dirty and bathroom was odd. Downstairs check-in area was totally updated and nice. Breakfast was standard and not good but not bad. "Meh" is how we felt. The hotel shuttle is definitely a plus! Took maybe 15 minutes to get either way. Make sure you are in the lobby 5 minutes before departure and it fills up fast. Staff was friendly! I would expect this as minimum wage is $15 an hour is this part of the country! Had reservations at a crackhouse hotel called Skyway Inn and realized after arriving there how crappy it was so my fiance and I found the Fairfield Inn a few blocks away and stayed here for the night. Not only were the rates good and affordable but the customer service was terrific! A gentleman by the name of Michael was very helpful and got us a nice king size bed for $75! Room was a good size; clean sheets, clean bathroom and sink and plenty of TV channels. Very hot water in the shower and sink, walls were thick, couldn't hear anyone else next to us, free wifi and a decent breakfast in the morning. I highly recommend this place if you are looking for something close to the Sea-Tac Airport, affordable, safe and with great customer service. read more

This location has become my second home. I always choose to stay here for my business travels not only because of its location, free parking, free Wi-Fi, free breakfast, clean rooms, free shuttle to restaurants and airport but simply because of the friendly staff that is always eager to help. I've never had anything go wrong in all my stays here until recently. I decided that I would book my group at this hotel. Working with the group coordinator, Aubrie, made everything a smooth process. She was completely on top of it the entire time and followed up after to make sure everything went well. I mentioned we had something go wrong this trip, first time ever some of the folks in my group did not have hot water the next morning. It was an isolated event and the manager had reached out to me before I even touched down in Chicago. She apologized for the mishap and credited some points to our rewards account. Even without the point credit I was impressed with the eagerness to make things right. I have no hesitation staying here again. I will book future groups here as well as recommend this hotel to my coworkers, friends and family. read more

Conveniently located hotel. Friendly staff. I booked this hotel for a last minute one night stay (April 2016). I called the hotel the day of (as we were driving) and they were able to accommodate us and book our room over the phone. When we got to the hotel our check in was quick. We were able to end the night relaxing in the pool and hot tub and there were restaurants close enough to grab dinner. There's not a lot to do nearby, but you are about 20 minutes from Seattle and there's more than enough to do there! Final night in Seattle and needed to be close to the airport; this place fit the bill perfectly. Free parking was a bit full: thanks to a couple of knuckleheads hogging two spaces each - and the fact that the parking lot is shared with the Holiday Inn next door. Consider this a basic one-night stay place as there's really nothing "to do" in the local area. It's close to the airport and that's about it. Hotel does not have a restaurant or bar but some are located nearby. Wi-fi was free and adequate. Fridge, microwave and coffee maker in room. Competent, friendly staff with efficient check-in/-out. Complimentary, but very basic, breakfast. Quiet, clean room although the carpet needed vacuuming. Beds comfortable with lots of pillows, good linens. Incredibly convenient to the airport - less than 5 minutes from hotel to car rental return location. Didn't hear a single plane, nor anything else, so restful sleep that night! read more

I would give this place 1 star if it wasn't for the front desk clerk who offered to pay for our taxi when the airport shuttle (which they share with the Holiday inn next door) never showed. We waited 30 minutes only to be told its a few minutes away. At the end they did offer to pay for our cab. For our inconvenience, the front desk clerk was happy to upgrade us to a jacuzzi room. When we walked into the room it was obvious this room was or used to be a smoking room. The smell was overwhelming. We were quickly moved to another similar room that didn't reek. Location is not the greatest, not walking distance to any close restaurants, the shuttle would take you to a restaurant if you wanted to make those arrangements. If I wasn't a loyal Marriott Rewards Elite member I would not be staying here again, in fact I think I won't be staying here again. The front desk clerk was accommodating and helpful and didn't flinch when I was raising my voice after the 4th time I called and told the shuttle was a few moments away. That shuttle driver was either on a break or part of someone's imagination. Non existent. Skip this place, find another hotel. read more

The hotel was clean and the check in service was good but this hotel needs some updating. I'll never understand why some, older hotels have shower heads that are way too low. I'm average height and I had to point the shower head up as far as it would go and still crouch beneath to get a good stream of water over my head. Some of the guys I was traveling with are over 6' tall and they joked that the shower was great for their belly button. Also....the sheets are pretty rough. I'm not particularly fond of sleeping in sand paper. Some higher thread count sheets would go a long way towards a good night sleep. The rates were reasonable and It's convenient to the airport but I would go out of my way to choose another hotel next time. read more

HORRIBLE......Outdated Rooms, Horrible Location and they trick you into prepaying for your room through their booking. I guess that is because some people try to get away once they arrive at this location. I'm Platinum with Marriott and totally got suckered into the "Pre-Pay" Option, that "I NEVER" do, as my business travel continually changes. I canceled the reservation and even got a confirmation that it was cancelled, however they charged me the full three nights that I had originally booked. I called them, and they stated they would refund the amount billed. Two months later I'm still fighting with them. Unfortunately this experience will cost Marriott over 50 nights per year in my loyalty. Sad to say one bad apple can bring the entire Marriott Brand down in a loyal customers experience with other properties. read more

My wife and I booked this hotel for our last day in Seattle. It was the closest Marriott to Sea-Tac. I have been to many an airport hotel, so my expectations were not very high. This is not a hotel for vacationers. This is a spot for people who need to be in close proximity to the airport. The staff were all polite. Our room was fine. Nothing stood out as good or bad. The bed was comfy enough. Our view was of a giant construction site. The wi-fi was hotel-quality (slow, but "free"). We did not try the breakfast (flight left early), so I can't comment on it. The bathroom was sparse, but clean. If you have a car, there are some decent food options in Des Moines, WA (try Wally's Chowder House). read more

We had a flight at 6am in the morning, just tell them u need to go early, and although the breakfast is not ready at 4am, they will still let u get into the room and have some milk and cereal. As soon as I walked into my room, a pungent odor hit me in the face. It smelled like mildew and body odor. It made me gag at first, but we got there so late in the night (around 3 am) I was unable to change my room. In fact, we had booked two separate rooms with one king in each. When we had arrived, the man at the front desk explained to us that they did not actually save us the rooms that we ordered. Instead, we would have two separate queen beds in each room. Personally, I cannot sleep alone. So we squeezed into one of the queens (the less lumpy of the two). The next morning, we went to the free breakfast. There wasn't much food to choose from and the bagel I got was stale. The coffee was so burnt, I had to throw it out. My husband said the eggs were cold and gross as well. On top of everything, we got a bill for $700! I will never recommend this hotel to anyone else. read more

Reserved a room with two queen size beds for an overnight stay and we couldn't be happier with the outstanding service from the front desk person upon arrival. He was super friendly and informative when we asked for recommendations on where to eat. The room was clean and the beds were firm and comfortable. What also impressed us was the kind and smiling staff that greeted us every time we saw them in the hallways - this is a rarity when we've stayed at other mid range priced hotels. Also an added bonus was the "free" breakfast included with our stay. It gets super busy so get there early to avoid the crowd. Choices are plentiful: cold/hot cereal, fresh fruits, juices, milk, yogurt, omelette with various toppings, bacon, sausages, and do it yourself mini belgian waffle stations with all the toppings! Wow..NYC hotel room size in Seattle! We stayed here on the my last before returning home. We picked this hotel because of the free shuttle service to the airport. My wife had to stay an extra day for work so I left the rental car for her. Room was small. Bathroom was tiny. If you are on the toilet, opening the door would take your knees (and I suspect some thighs too) off. It has exhaust fan, which I liked. I don't think breakfast was available when I took the shuttle at 4:30AM. But Jerry below said it was crap. I'll ask my wife about that and post back. The hotel offers shuttle service to downtown Seattle, not sure what the cost is. So it might be worthwhile for tourists. Call the hotel to find out. My BIGGEST issue was noise. We were on the 3rd floor. People walking on the 4th floor can be very clearly heard. And for me, that walking around lasted late into the night, which made my 10PM to 3:30AM sleep bordering intolerable. read more

From the moment stepped foot into the hotel, we felt at home. Customer service is phenomenal! From the front desk to the breakfast attendant to the housekeepers. Everyone was welcoming and professional. Our room was also ready very early which was amazing! We were able to check in right when we got to Seattle at 10am. The room was spacious and clean. We had everything we needed for our 1 night stay. Breakfast has great options: fruit, make your own waffle, chicken sausage, eggs, cereals, etc. Did I mention their parking was free? We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would definitely stay here again next time we visit the Seattle area. read more

This place is perfect if your looking for a clean mediocre price to stay a few nights while touring Seattle. I spent three nights and it's location is pretty good. About 12 miles from downtown and no more then 5 minute drive to air port. I took the luxury for renting a car .. Free parking free continental breakfast ... Clean rooms no views .. You literally get what you lay for ... I have no complaints other then the horrible front desk ladies which are the worse ... Other than that Everything was good ... Ohhh yeah check in is at 3pm no exceptions... read more

For what it is this place is alright. It isn't a suites so the whole thing is standard rooms. The decor is dated, the gym is pretty terrible, but the service is the best I have had on the whole airport strip. I pretty much live on the road and this place, despite the outside appearance is never that bad. read more
