I wish I could give no stars. From check in on, this was one of the worst hotels I have ever picked. I called earlier in the day as we are in the middle of a 13 hour drive and found we were ahead of schedule. The women at the front desk told us 2:30 should be fine. Check in is 3. When we got there, no rooms were ready. A half hour before check in and NO rooms are ready? Okay, no problem. This is the 4th hotel on this strip my husband and I have stayed at. It was absolutely the worst. The hotel itself is okay, some spots are new some spots are outdated or broken. The location is apparetly the street bike and motor cycle race way. So please do not stay here if you need sleep of any kind. The staff are some of the most ignorant I have EVER encountered. Walking around in slides and playing on their phones. Almost every one has an ear bud in. What happened to doing your job while you are working? Giggling and gossiping as a line of patrons waited to be taken care of. I attempted to use the lobby bathroom after one of the female employees only to find they didn't flush the toilet nor attempt to pick uo the paper towels all over the floor--did it for them. All of this sucks because honestly, the room was half way decent and moderately updated. The hotel door locks stick and don't always go back in so if you're traveling solo you can't always close the door from the outside. However, you can hear EVERY door close, every step on the floor above you, there is no quiet. If you're here for a long term visit, turn around because your food is not surviving. Unless you like setting an alarm to wake up every 2 hours to turn your fridge back on. The TV shuts itself off randomly. They have taken 'energy efficiency' to an even cheaper penny pinching level. The air conditioner starts out strong and slowly fades to nothing. It was 93 degrees here at 12am, which is when I am checking out and writing this review becaus I was done. TLDR: R U N. Me and my Mom stayed at this hotel, following my Mom's release from the hospital after emergency surgery. The first concern was the ripped and unclean mattress on the sofa bed, which had no sheets or bedding of any kind, nor was there any in the room. But the most disturbing and dangerous part of our stay, was being in the beds, dozing off, only to hear someone trying to enter our room! Thank goodness I always put the security bar on the door of any hotel room I stay in. So I go down to ask the guy at the front desk, Ethan, if he had made a key for someone to come to enter my room? He said yes, because the man had your last name! Not my whole entire name, but just my last name! Then he went on to admit that the man had the wrong room number at first, but then made a call and gave the correct room number! I was trembling in shock disbelief, and I asked if he didn't recognize the red flag of this person having the wrong room number, but more over, how do you make a key for a stranger to enter a guest's room, without so much as calling the room, or my cell number that was in the system!! He just sat there looking confused! I stated to him, that I know he couldn't have been trained to do that, and nowhere in the entire world, that I stayed, have I ever experienced or heard of anyone doing something that reckless and dangerous! Suppose I was having a domestic situation and was hiding from an abuser?? This front desk associate representing Marriott Hotels, gave someone an open opportunity to harm me and my loved one! Not only would I run from the notion of EVER staying at this hotel, but since Marriott as a whole, did the bare minimum in rectifying this situation, I feel safe in warning others to STAY AWAY from Marriott Hotels in general!!! The only comforting part of my experience was Mildred, who was at the front desk the next morning. She was more remorseful than anyone I had encountered during this nightmare....GOD BLESS HER! read more

My friend and I stayed here on June 26, in room 303. Staff was friendly and room appeared clean. However, the door locking mechanism was faulty. The deadbolt could not be unlocked. When we went to leave for our event we could not unlock the deadbolt and the door would not close. After playing around with it, I discovered by pulling down on the inside handle (which retracted the deadbolt), then pulling down on the outside handle, the bolt would remain retracted after I let go of the inside handle. As I wanted to keep our possessions secure while away, I declined the offer of having maintenance look at it while we were gone. The springs in my mattress were sprung and extra soft on one side of the bed, which caused me to continue to roll to that side as I attempted to sleep. The bed frame also had a cross beam that stuck out about an inch or so beyond the mattress (covered by the bed ruffle). I barked my shin on it twice when attempting to sit on the bed. My friend had the other bed, which he said was uncomfortably hard. We could not switch beds as I needed access to the one outlet in the corner for my breathing equipment. The room was shabby, with a broken lampshade, half-filled glass of water on the desk and reeked of cigarette smoke. To add insult to injury, there was a $12 parking charge on the final bill - a charge that was not disclosed when the reservation was made online. We won't be staying there again. I realize that many Mariott properties are franchises, but I rely upon the Mariott brand to insure a reasonable level of comfort, cleanliness and service without hidden "gotchas". This property does not reflect well upon the Mariott brand. read more

We had a great experience at Fairfield in Deptford. It was a perfect place for us to stay after we played a show in Philadelphia. We are on the road a lot and having a hotel that we can get a good rest at is really important. We really liked how close it is to the city without being right in it. The area also felt safe for us to park our van and trailer. The hotel has been renovated and everything is clean, modern and new. The staff was very welcoming and helped us with whatever we needed. This can not be Marriott my stay has been a less then stellar. I checked in Oct 18, it was a company trip. I have them my Titanium Elite number at my check in asking if it could be added to my reservation. The lady who checked me in took my card, as well as my payment card (why they are charging any type of holds is beyond me because there isn't room service or breakfast) she neglected to tell me that this Fairfield's Marriott policy was not to add your member number on a reservation that was booked by the company. The next morning I didn't see the reservation on my Marriott Rewards app, so I asked the lady who was working Monday morning if she could add my Titanium Elite number she said sure, took my card, I left for work thinking that she added it. On Tuesday Oct 20 I checked my Marriott app and noticed the reservation still was not showing, I decided to call the Titanium customer service number and the lady said they had been having issues with rewards and reservations. She placed me on hold and called the Fairfield Inn hotel. I was on hold for a few moments and she got back on the line saying my rewards was added but initially it wasn't out on the reservation because my company booked us as a group. Well neither of the women decided to tell me that was their policy they just acted as if they were attaching it never saying a word. But the week prior I was in Rockford, Illinois and they added my number with the same employer with no issues. I had asked to have the block of ice removed from the fridge so I could put food in there and be able to close the door. They replaced my fridge with a dirty fridge put all my food in there. I've posted a pick of the dirty fridge and my food that is frozen from being in it. I requested to have my room cleaned and as you can see the shower was not touched. They did change the sheets, replace towels and empty the trash. I even tipped 4.00 thinking it would spark them to do a decent job. They've had a garbage can and a wet sign since I got here and I've been here two weeks thus far from the ceiling leaking. They haven't vacuumed the hall floors. The same old navy price tag is on the steps that has been there since last weekend at least. Pool and gym are closed for Covid. They do have bagged breakfast and cereal to go. Today I tried to get towels and was told to bring my towels down and she'd wash them. 3 hours later I called down to see if my towels were clean. She said she wouldn't have towels till tomorrow. I asked why would you have me bring my towels down if they weren't going to be ready till tomorrow? So as a consolation she gave me 3 pool towels. read more

This was after first sending my call back to someone named Alyssa who was not in and getting placed on hold twice. So we arrive today and view the partnering residence inn with no problem, we then drive next door and Neisha states she has no rooms available for us to see and that we were supposed to come yesterday. How? I know what I said and I would've never agreed to come within an hour of getting off the phone. I booked this hotel last minute as I needed to isolate due to a possible covid exposure. It was fine for the price. When I asked for a late check out they gave me a whole 30 minutes even though the hotel was half empty. Then after check out they blindly nailed me with a bogus cleaning fee of $250 saying I smoked in the room. I have never smoked a day in my entire life as I despise it and would be the first to complain of any smoke smell. When I called to argue the fee I was told the manager is the only one who can address and she out until Jan 15th. So now I'm stuck waiting after being robbed of $250. Stay far away read more

Taylor Swift weekend in Philly. Maybe have all hands on deck for your completely booked hotel. You obviously know you are fully booked. We arrive at 2pm, room isn't ready. No big deal, we go get lunch. Come back around 3:15 and lobby is completely overflowing with Swifties. We go to desk and ask if the room is ready and are told nobody checked us in earlier and we are on a 1st come, 1st serve list! ummm, what!!?? We are told 20 minutes for our room to be ready. Well, we waited until after 4:30 for a room (along with everyone else). She tells us we have a room with 1 king. We booked a room with 2 queens and have 4 people!! So, back to waiting for the correct room. I can't imagine how much everyone paid for those concert tickets and then to get to a hotel with no rooms ready?! Pay your staff overtime or something. This hotel was a refreshing stay - the curtains were super thick and the room was pitch black at night. It was easy to sleep in. The bed was extremely comfortable. The room was very clean and the entire building smelled nice. The bathroom was spacious, the shower was new and clean and had very hot water and decent pressure. Was down at Rowan University for field hockey and since we had games both Saturday and Sunday we decided to just stay down here. This Fairfield Inn was close, it was comparably cheap (thy offer a government rate), and breakfast is included...pretty much a no-brainer. Check-in was a breeze and the room was just what we needed. The only problem was the AC...it kept reverting to heat during the night so 2x we woke up to a 74 degree room instead of the 63 we had set before bed. Otherwise, the beds were comfortable, the front desk staff was VERY pleasant, the room was clean, breakfast was hot and filled us up before a long day of field hockey, the restaurant staff were friendly and helpful, and the shower was acceptable. Plenty of parking and it's near lots of restaurants (If you like Italian, try Cotardo's - you have to drive about 8 minutes, but it's worth it). I'd stay here again... read more

I've stayed at this hotel previously (Pre-Covid) and always had a great experience but this time it was almost deplorable. The first room they put us in, I had bed-bugs & ants in my bed! They moved us to another room and comped us a night (the very least they could do!). You had to ASK the night before to have your room made up for the next day! Like, what is this?, a hostel in a third world country? Each of the 4 nights we were there we requested our room to be made out they only made it up 2 nights! Our second night there some moron decided to smoke a cigarette in the hall so we had to evacuate the hotel at 2:30 AM while the fire dept. came! You had to ASK for your own towels...again, third world country?! I wouldn't stay at this hotel again if you PAID ME! Trust me...not a positive experience. After booking we received our email confirmation that warned the hotel was undergoing renovations. There were none being done however the hotel seriously needs them done. The rooms were very damp and musky- smelled and felt like wet carpet. There were weird lifeguard signs on the bathroom door in our room, and upon arriving we had a slight issue with the toilet continuing to run- luckily we were able to fix it quickly. There are only 2 elevators- a few hours into our stay 1 broke down. We ended up taking the 4 flights of stairs the rest of the weekend as trying to wait for 1 elevator was too time consuming. Upon checking in, another guest was leaving and we overheard a conversation between him and the front desk that sounded like he had been dealing with an insect problem. We weren't too thrilled when they placed us in the room next to him but luckily we did not encounter any bugs. They offer free breakfast which is always nice but it was nothing spectacular. The eggs were very rubbery. The 2 positives were the coffee brand they use was very delicious And they have full size mini fridges in the room. If they do undergo renovations and make it cleaner and more functional i would recommend it. The location is pretty good- and there's an UNOs pizza in the same parking lot so convenient for a quick bit without having to drive. read more

I really enjoyed my stay here. The bed was very comfortable as well as the pillows and comforter. The room included a wall thermostat for temperature control which was nice and convenient. The shower was a highlight and was very spacious. The water pressure was strong which is always nice. Everything was clean and well-kept, and when guest services was called for additional items, they were prompt and polite. Would stay again when in the area. read more

By Marriott standards, this hotel is not up to par and it was pretty disappointing. The interior and rooms overall are very dated. The beds are at least new. We couldn't get the AC in the room to stay on consistently and kept waking up hot. The other huge issue - and I know it can't be helped based on the location of the hotel - but the hotel is literally backed up to a major highway and it's really loud. It would be extremely smart and thoughtful to not put people in the rooms closest to the highway - when the hotel isn't full. Also, if this hotel got updated with better soundproofing, maybe it wouldn't sound like the tractor trailers are coming directly through the room. Also, it would be awesome if the coffee was full in the morning. Because most of the time it was not. So, that was not up to standard quality. This place is a DUMP. Right when you walk in through the doors the hotel smells stinky... My room smells like feet...like a dirty locker room. The carpet that was in my room is either one of the following: DAMP, WET or STICKY. And of course it is worn out and stained. Needless to say I am wearing my shoes in my room while I sit on my bed and write this review. I have about 6 towels on my floor leading a path between the bed to the bathroom and the door...it's that disgusting. The chair in my room looks like it has been used as a scratching post by a cat. I feel like I am staying in a MOTEL 6 (Well maybe a classier version of a MOTEL 6. The beds are super worn out I feel like I am sinking in... And let's talk about the random fire alarm that keeps on going on and off at 1100 PM... The staff here is super rude and too busy socializing with one another. The only reason I stayed here is because it is near my venue for work or I would have stayed somewhere else. We picked this because the location was great for our needs & it had an indoor pool for our kids. But the pool ended up being closed due to an "unsatisfactory" rating from the health inspector. Only one of the two elevators "worked," but it got stuck two different times while we were trying to use it so we ended up walking the 4 flights to our room. Our dresser drawer wouldn't stay closed and when we mentioned it to the housekeeper her only response was "Yeah, a lot of them do that." Somehow, after the room was cleaned, the flip lock inside the door got stuck so we couldn't get back in our room. We were told maintenance was on the way, but ended up sitting in the hallway with our kids for 40+ minutes waiting to be let in. We followed up at the front desk around the 20 minute mark and the staff was rude & acted as if we were putting them out. Then, in the middle of the night, we discovered the dresser/desk was covered in ants. We took the trash out ourselves and were offered bug spray by the receptionist, but after searching for quite awhile, all she could find was disinfectant spray. Horrible experience. Overcharged. Took days to get my bill adjusted. Felt like we were more of an imposition than a guest.

Woman at the front desk was super kind and easy going. Only complaint is that the entire hotel wreaks of weed and smoke.

This hotel is run down & honestly disgusting. I'm waking up feeling like I smoked an entire carton of cigarettes when I don't smoke & wasn't near anyone that smoked all night. Had to stay here instead of the Residence Inn which didn't look much better honestly. Marriott should be embarrassed. Both hotels need to be gutted & have complete renovations. I will never stay here again wedding or no wedding, I'll take the drive home. read more

Giving this 1 star for Marriott standards. I am a Marriott rewards member and stay in their hotels at least a half dozen weekends a year. I definitely prefer their hotels to others. The main reason you stay in a hotel is to have a bed to sleep in, but I wasn't able to get much sleep. The fitted sheet and mattress cover kept coming off the bed so I'd have to get up almost every hour and remake the bed. The sheets were so used that there was no elastic left on either so they continued to slide off. Never in my life have I had to remake a hotel bed, let alone 5-6 times, during a one night stay. When I mentioned this to the staff in the morning, she simply said "ok, thanks." No apology for being below standards or we will make it right. Additionally, when checking in the night before one staff member was incredibly unprofessional. She proceeded to argue with and blame a co-worker for a confusion in another persons reservation all while two paying customers stand in front of her. As I said, none of this was exemplary of the Marriott business that I have been familiar with and I was severely disappointed. read more

I would not qualify my stay at this location as a good one. I stayed at the Fairfield Inn in Deptford for 2 nights. Upon arrival, we were greeted the representative at the front desk. She was very friendly. We checked into our room and headed out. Upon returning to the room, my boyfriend took a shower. The bottom of the shower curtain was very moldy, gross, and discolored. There were also stray pubic hairs all over the shower. This is already disturbing enough, however even more disturbing during Covid-19. It was extemely repusilve now more than ever that the bathroom conditioners were like this. He said he felt even dirtier than before showering, and went down to complain. We were moved a few rooms down. We did a quick check over of the room conditions in comparison to our initial room. It seemed a lot cleaner, however the air conditioning unit did not work. The next day, my boyfriend got one of the Grab & Go breakfasts from the lobby. This was to serve hotel guests safely during Covid-19. The yogurt inside was expired. Later in the day, my boyfriend threw something out in the trashcan in the bathroom. The bag inside the can fell in, when he went to fix the bag he discovered that there was dried up vomit inside the trashcan. It had a horrible odor. Who knows how long that has been there. Disgusted yet again, he put the trashcan in the hallway. Upon returning to the hotel that night, the trashcan was still in the hallway, only the cleaning staff had removed the original bag that had fell in. There was a fresh bag hanging over the side of the trashcan, but to our dismay, the vomit was still dried up inside the trash can. I am also not sure if there is anything sanitary about this Marriott property. Whoever cleaned our room that day must've used the same rag to clean in who knows how many rooms. This time we noticed stray pubic hairs all over the door of the bathroom. I can't even imagine how dirty the bed we slept was, judging by how the rest of the property was kept. I would love to give a review about the actual hotel, but due to poor communication by Shanice, I can only review my inability to book a block of rooms for my wedding. I called a few weeks ago and spoke to a helpful person at Fairfield Inn who explained I needed to speak with Shanice to actually book a block of rooms for my wedding. Getting in touch with this woman is next to impossible. I had to call twice in order to request a written agreement even though Shanice possessed all of my contact information and I think I only received a return call the second time because I threatened to take my business elsewhere. Shanice emailed me a contract on October 8th. I emailed her back the following day explaining some concerns I had with the agreement. I received no response back. She then called me later that day and left me a voicemail which I thought was to address my issue with the contract. Instead, she said she had a message to call me and wasn't sure if we spoke so she was calling back to follow up. Considering that we spoke less than 24 hour ago and she emailed me in the same time frame, and she seemed to have no idea who I was, I became concerned about her ability to follow through with helping me with the room block. I called her back a few minutes after she left me a voicemail and no surprise, she did not answer. I left a voicemail explaining that we had just spoken and I had sent her an email just a few hours before with concerns about the contract. I never heard back from Shanice or any other Fairfield Inn staff after this. I guess Fairfield Inn is in a position to turn down business. If so, I don't think they will be in this position for long. I'm instead setting up a block of rooms with a nicer, local hotel for a lower price. And the best part is the employee at the latter hotel actually responds to customers. What a concept! read more

Just stayed there Thanksgiving. I must say, the staff is super friendly and helpful. We drove in from RI and got there pretty early (9:30a). They were nice enough to check us in right away so we could get the baby down for a nap. You really can't beat that. Free breakfast that was actually good. Room was clean. Bathroom shower was a bit dirty looking. Like it could use a hard scrub. But, that's the only thing from making it five stars. read more
