A desk in the room I had at Fairfield Inn.
    Ken P.

I was recently visiting the South for the holidays with family and part of the adventure found us all heading to Florida for a surprise birthday party for my Uncle. Since it was better to drive from Myrtle Beach to Palm Coast we did that and were able to keep the timing all as we wanted to. Fairfield Inn and Suites was were we set ourselves up for the next few days and since we were going to be very active, it was mostly just a place to rest our bones and get cleaned up for the events were were participating in. Upon entry the staff were very helpful and I found my room to be very cozy. There was more than enough room for my single self with the television, desk to work on the laptop and a very comfortable King sized bed. The WiFi was complimentary which was wonderful and the television allowed you to log in to your own streaming accounts to enjoy whatever you wish. I mostly used YouTube on this stay. I liked that there was a microwave and small refrigerator in the room but I will admit that there should have been a better spacing for the plugs near the desk. The wall outlet was full and had the fridge, microwave and television which left nothing for the laptop to be recharged/plugged into. I just used the outlet where the lamp was since it was bright enough so just a minor gripe. There was complimentary breakfast each day and it was quite tasty. Not just muffins and bagels but eggs, bacon, sausage, fruit, waffles, pancakes (depending on the day) and even quiche. I ate better during the breakfast than I do on most days at home LOL. So this served well as a hotel to crash at for a night or three if you need to. I'd recommend them and would surely use this chain again. They are a division of the Marriott brand which is quite expansive at this time in history.

    Mold and mildew

Dirty, moldy shower stall in room. It was gross! I would avoid this Fairfield Inn/Suites at all costs.

Well where do we being . First off I'm an life time platinum Elite member of the Marriott Brand and hold a Titanium level or a Ambassador level from year to year . We love Marriott and their hotel chain and have a great reputation with our hotels we stay at regularly. We selected this hotel as it was close to where we were going and some of our friends were staying there as well . We walked into the hotel at 2:40 pm we checked in online two days before our visit . When we walked into the lobby the woman working the desk didn't even have courtesy to even look up at my wife and I as she spouted out checkin is not till 3 pm rudely . I replied that I believe they already said my room was ready via email . " oh you did a online checking ? " snapping . I said yes and gave her my name . She then fussed some more and finally found our reservation. And gave us a key . We are not at all people that demand or exist on a status level but we fo appreciate curiosity and recognition of the fact we pick the Marriott Brand because of there training and I believe elite staffing and training. This hotel was a far cry from what we are use to with the Marriott brand or any other brand for that matter . We went to our room ground floor , next to the laundry room across from the elevators . There's a reason I check in early and arrange things early on line , so my criteria saved on the Marriott site will be looked at and I have a better chance of achieving the floor or room choice I ask for . This was the opposite of my requests and needless to say they didn't even look at my requests or status with the hotel brand as the desk staff could care less given there communication with me and their approach . We took the room and my wife was almost in tears when she saw the room and bathroom . It was dirty , scum on the shower glass , the grout was black and mold . So we returned and asked for another room as this one was dirty . We only received more lip service and said there'd send someone down . I told them I wanted another room , they said the hotel was full . I had to advocate to the degree that I said you mean every room is occupied right now . Finally another front desk person entered into the picture as our original woman that checked us in was going home and had no time to deal with what she started with . They gave us a room on the second floor away from the elevators ( he must of read my request ) . So we took it and left . You'd think I'd be done . The room was just not clean, and you can tell they don't put cleaning on the top of their list . The shower was dirty with scum on the glass and again on the Foors , dirt in the corners and shower track . Mold on the vents . And it goes on . (See pictures ) it sad that I'm even writing this review . And I will copy In Marriott and sending it off to them as well . The hotel doesn't offer anywhere to review the hotel . They had other reviews but I could not leave one . I wonder why ? The final straw that broke the camels back . I'm talking to friends the next morning in the breakfast area, they were staying at the hotel as well. After we left the lobby area I forgot to give my friend directions to our destination. So I called down to the front desk and asked to be connected to Mr. John ------ room please . I'm told by the supervisor there they can't connect me to his room . I ask why , for security reasons. Really , I don't want his room number , I'm giving you his name please connect me to his room phone so I can talk to my friend . AgIn she says she can't for security reasons . Really, I travel for a living 40 years and never have been told they could not connect me with someone's room via phone. I ask for a supervisor she says she is the supervisor. I ask for the hotel manager and she hands up on me . We packed up and left . I was able to phone a friend in Miami and get my other buddies number and call him directly . Not a friendly hotel . Not a hotel I would spend a dime at or even walk into again . I don't even know how they got the Marriott brand name . The pictures say a thousand words you be the judge . Never again .

Marriott needs to offload this one. It's old and not aging well. Our room was on first floor near the end and the second we walked in, we could tell the A/C wasn't pulling the moisture out of the air like it should. It felt damp and had that smell of dampness that comes with old hotels and homes in the south. Mold in the bathroom confirmed it's a consistent issue. Even in bed, you get that vaguely sticky feels by when it's too humid. To top it off, dog or cat hair on my sheets, same on floor in the bathroom along with pubic hairs. Cleaning people aren't good at their job here apparently. I chose this location based on Marriott reputation alone and was disappointed.

I stayed here once before, about a month before and it was a horrible experience... and I accidentally booked again because I was traveling and needed some place to stay and I didn't realize it was the same property. Well, when I got there I was hoping I would have a different experience and I did somewhat ( the young lady at the front desk was the sweetest person in the world) but I can never stay there again. It's old and it has that dusty moldy smell. I woke up and I had the worst headache and my allergies bothered me, my sinuses....I was completely miserable, as I was the last time I stayed there. I woke up and was shocked that there were bugs. I'm not sure what kind. I don't know if they were tiny ants, roaches, or ????? I don't like the fact, that on the Marriott app, it shows only 1 picture and it's of a newer bathroom sink. It showed a bath sink with a bowl but everything that hotel has is OLD except for the lobby area. I do have to say, their breakfast is top notch, especially compared to any other hotel with a free breakfast. All the ladies working were enjoying their job. They were hustling, everything was nice and neat, full, constantly being rotated and filled, and they were the nicest and happiest breakfast ladies I've ever encountered. They were tip worthy!!! The most upsetting thing about my stay, besides the bugs and sickness, was that even though it was in a nice area and the hotel was secluded from any other businesses, someone cut my entire antenna and pulled off my Disney Darth Vader Topper along with with the rest of it and just left the wires. I contacted the hotel twice and they could not tell me anything except they don't have cameras. It's in the front of their building. If they don't have cameras to be able to see their guest then it's not a very safe area. What if someone had a heart attack and needed help? What if someone fell or what if somebody was coming up to the hotel with a gun....They couldn't tell or respond to anything. Someone who doesn't have allergies and who's not afraid of bugs ...it's a cheap place to stay. All I can say is, I would rather sleep in my car next time... but not in that parking lot neighborhood.

I was very pleased with my stay at this Fairfield inn! The friendly staff and pleasant atmosphere really made me feel good about staying here. The room was really nice and modern, and the breakfast in the morning was good. Nothing mind blowing but solid for a free hotel breakfast with eggs sausage and all the bread, bagels, English muffins, waffles and cereal you could want. If you need a place to stay in the area, give this place a try!

NOT having a bathroom fav is unheard of at a resort. Each of these items, lack of adequate room lighting, and lack of bathroom fan, drops the rating one star. For the comfort of my family, I rate this a 3-star hotel. Hammock Beach Resort does not offer "resort-worthy" rooms in the Lodge. The beach is beautiful. Room views are lovely. Rainbows after brief showers are always magical. The Atlantic Grill located in the Lodge was superb--Patrick was our waiter and he was great! From the outset, the resort was misleading about what we were purchasing. We booked what was clearly represented as a golf package. Upon arrival, we were told we did not have access to golf that day. Golf was a primary reason we selected this resort. Clear, accurate representation of packages is not optional at this price point. When a resort markets itself as a premier golf destination, transparency matters. The accommodations did not reflect the luxury image presented online. The villa was outdated and worn, amenities did not function properly (including a broken coffee maker), and we experienced repeated unnecessary disturbances from staff knocking and ringing the doorbell. The condition and service level were inconsistent with what was advertised. Even more troubling was the professionalism of a golf manager during our stay. This individual winked at my minor son in a way that was inappropriate and made both of us uncomfortable. Regardless of intent, that type of interaction with a child is unacceptable in a professional hospitality setting. When I calmly raised concerns about the golf package confusion, the condition of the villa, and the overall experience, management responded with deflection rather than accountability. I was even told I should have given advance notice regarding my son's disability and booked a "disability room." That comment demonstrates a serious lack of training in guest relations and ADA awareness. This is not about minor inconveniences. It is about misleading representations, unprofessional conduct, inadequate accommodations, and a failure of leadership to take responsibility when legitimate concerns are raised. At this price level, guests should not have to push repeatedly to be heard. Transparency, professionalism, and respect -- especially toward families and minors -- should be baseline standards. Corporate leadership should take a close look at how packages are marketed, how villas are maintained, and how staff are trained. What we experienced fell significantly short of what is promised.

I checked into the hotel on 03/27/2026 and checked out the very same day because the room condition was unacceptable. The room was not clean and did not meet reasonable expectations for a hotel stay. Communication from the hotel was delayed and unhelpful. I received responses saying the matter would be sent to management, but no meaningful resolution was ever provided. I did leave the property the same day and have documentation showing my attempts to contact the hotel and resolve the matter. So I will say that it is by far one of the least expensive hotels in the area, and it still has the interior corridors which always makes me feel safer when people can't just come up and start beating on your door, or have unauthorized dogs in the room under you that bark all night, both of which have happened recently. When I arrived, the room smelled musty and stale. Not pleasant, but I went to Walmart to grab an air freshener and some disinfectant wipes, partly because the "clean" shower had a half used shampoo bottle in it and someone else's hair (long black hair and mine is a shorter unnaturally dyed red, so I'm positive it isn't mine). I'm not against a little elbow grease and I know that cleaning an entire hotel has to be hard and things get missed and I'm not even angry at the price, just know what to expect what you are booking here so you can manage your expectations. The hotel itself has some cute touches. The room has a little window seat that would be comfy for chilling out and relaxing after you make it back to the hotel in the evening, and there is a large comfy sofa in the room, as well as the standard desk and chair so you have some options for working and relaxing. But then the room is just in such disrepair. Out of the four electric outlets in my room to plug my phone into to charge, the outlet is so loose, my plug kept falling out of three of them. Everything has been patched within an inch of its life, but not super well, so it all just looks like it is one good sneeze from falling apart. The mini fridge in my room was sooooooo loud, I ended up having to unplug it, and I normally have a slightly larger mini fridge in my bedroom at home that is nowhere near that loud. The breakfast was definitely better than I expected, especially to be included in the price. I'm not going to be hitting my protein goals with it, but while traveling, I think that's okay. They have a fresh waffle and pancake maker (which was pretty cool, you just wave your hand and the enclosed conveyor machine drops batter, flattens it, cooks it and drops it on your plate for you) with syrup, oatmeal packets, Raisin Bran, Cheerios and Froot Loops cereal dispenser, bagels, bread, muffins, fresh oranges, a fridge with yoplait yogurt cups and milk jugs, apple and orange juice and a coffee and tea station, as well as some condiment packets like jelly, peanut butter, cream cheese, butter, Nutella. Overall, carb heavy, but it wasn't impossible to make a few mindful choices and feel like it was a not bad way to start the day. Plus, if you are traveling with kids or something, they would love the waffle and pancake option. And the lady who was tending to the breakfast area was so sweet and thoughtful and thorough at her job, she was great. Overall, for the price, this isn't a terrible option, if you manage your expectations. Due to the nature of my business in town, I did not want to spend triple the price for a lovely beachside cottage. I wanted a place to sleep that doesn't make me feel the need for a shower after I get out of the shower, or make my skin crawl or feel unsafe, all of which have been issues in the past. It's not the best budget friendly hotel I have stayed at, but it also isn't the worst. If you need somewhere to sleep for the night, this place is serviceable, just bring your own Clorox wipes and air freshener, but that still comes out cheaper than the next cheapest option that actually has disinfected floors.

Paid on Expedia 2 days for Queen suite. But I got there from Miami 5 1/2 hrs pass my arrival time…read morewas 11:30 pm on Friday. I arrived Saturday morning 5:38 am. So the mean front desk lady. Said they gave my room away because I was a NO SHOW... So told her but I paid for 2 days. She was just very mean & didn't want to give me a room. I waited an hour finally she gave me a different cheaper room. And said around noon the manager will be here & will have your room ready so you can change. Noon came I went from that half cleaned room she gave to front desk ran into the manager. He was a real piece of work..... from the start it looked like he was angry when I talk to you very mean manager. But I told him my problem that I had with the mean lady this morning. He said no she gave me the right room and I was not getting anything else I was in the right room so there's nothing he can do and he walked away towards the back of the front desk. I was shocked and really wasn't in the mood to be arguing. So I left to lunch. The rooms were dirty half cleaned. The pillows and the mattress were very uncomfortable. It was really hard to get a good rest there. Big rip off this place if you go through any website, they won't honor the right room.
