This weekend we had to be in Palatka, Florida for a destination wedding. We stayed in the Hampton Inn and I must say it was very nice. The entire staff was amazingly helpful, breakfast was good and the rooms were very clean ( and I am extremely picky). The town looks like it is going through a renovation of sorts and will be really cute once it's done. There is some history there from WWII very interesting monuments. Overall if your life brings you to this area of Florida, stay here, highly recommended. read more

I arrived at the Hampton Inn in Palatka, Florida, on July 3 after having already checked in online. As a Gold member and loyal member of the Hilton chain, I had reserved a Riverview King room on the third floor and had been assigned Room 305. Upon arriving at the front desk, I was greeted by a receptionist who was neither welcoming nor professional. I was simply informed that my room had been changed, with no explanation other than that it was "the manager's decision" because the hotel was overbooked. Instead of the Riverview King room I had reserved and checked into, I was reassigned to a first-floor room near the entrance/exit door, directly across from the laundry room and the gym. It was a significant downgrade from what I had booked and paid for. After noticing that Room 305 appeared to be unoccupied, I returned to the front desk and explained that I would not accept a room that was clearly not comparable to the one I had reserved. I wasn't demanding the exact room--only a room of equal quality. Shortly thereafter, I was reassigned to Room 306 on the third floor, directly across from Room 305. This left me questioning why I had been downgraded in the first place. The front desk experience on July 3 was extremely disappointing. The receptionist was dismissive, unprofessional, and unwilling to provide a reasonable explanation for the room change. That said, I want to recognize the staff who worked on July 4. The front desk representative that day was exceptional--friendly, accommodating, and genuinely interested in resolving concerns. The housekeeping staff was also outstanding, courteous, and hardworking throughout my stay. While I appreciate the efforts of the July 4 staff and housekeeping team, the way my reservation was handled upon arrival fell far below the level of service I expect from a Hampton Inn. I hope management addresses both the communication issues and the professionalism of the July 3 front desk staff so future guests are treated with the respect they deserve. read more

Could possibly have the friendliest staff I've ever experienced at a hotel. For someone that stays in a hotel 200+ nights a year that's a pretty significant statement. Rooms are very clean and modern, pool is well maintained. Great view of the river as well! read more

This is a solid 3 star hotel. For a small town, like Palatka, there's a surprising number of chain hotels. I picked Hampton Inn based on its location near the river and feedback from my family, who lives locally. I checked in on the Hilton Honors app and requested a digital room key. That never arrived so I was lucky their desk is staffed 24-7 since I arrived close to 10 pm. The staff was very friendly and sweet. My room was fine. Two queen beds was the only option. That led to the room being a bit cramped with very little space between the beds and the TV. The bed was comfy as were the pillows and I had no issues with the fan or room temps. The room was mostly clean but the shower definitely had some hard water stains and a bit of mildew in the corners that needs to be bleached away. Otherwise the bathroom seemed pretty newish and clean. Honestly, I think Palatka just has weird water. The location along the river was wonderful and I enjoyed the sunrise over the fountains out back. There was free breakfast each morning which was fine. I grabbed some toast and eggs most mornings. I stayed for 4 nights which is about the most I can see staying. It was comfortable and no frills. Overall, if I needed a place to stay while in the area, I'd choose this again. No issues with noise and as a solo female traveler I felt safe. read more

A pleasant and comfortable stay. Absolutely nothing negative to say. I have family in Satsuma , but their house is a little too small to host all the Children and Grandchildren for Thanksgiving so my family and I are staying in the Hampton Inn of Palatka. Visit my family's during the day then retreating to the comfort of The Hampton Inn. It's been a remarkably comfortable and relaxing stay. Very nice hotel. Friendly staff. Nice area. Enjoyed the convenience of being close to the "river walk". Not sure they call it that, but it was a walk along the river side. We were very, very early for check in (around noon) so I didn't expect that a room would be ready and it wasn't. But that is to be expected. No problem there! We told the clerk that we would walk along the river and the town. She said she would call us on our phone when the room was ready. That was just fine with us. It was a very warm day so after walking, we decided to just wait in the cool lobby and read our books. We only came down to Palatka because our son was down here for 3 days working. He lives 10 hours away from our home and this was only 2 hours away from our home so we decided to come down and visit him in the evening. After being in the lobby for a very little time, the very friendly desk clerk called us up and they put us in a room that is saved for a handicap person. That was fantastic for us as we are older (in our 80's) and having the safety bars in the shower was very helpful for us. I am always concerned about falling in the shower and we have bars in our shower at home. And the room was extra large to accommodate a wheelchair. The only reason that they didn't rate a 5 star was for the breakfast. It was sort of lacking. Not really sure what more I expected, but it just wasn't quite worthy of a 5 star rating. If we are ever back in this area, we would definitely choose the Hampton again. read more

We decided to stay at this property rather last minute. But having not seen it except driving by. Easy to tell it's fairly new too. Walking in property is very well laid out. Initially the room we got was a city view and had a great view of downtown. Problem was there was a huge stain on the chair and looked very gross actually. So I thought I would flip cushion over only to discover there was food and trash under it. Again not a huge deal, but when we were going out the manager asked about the room, so I showed her the pictures. Then later they called and offered us a river view room to make up for the issue. Nice offer and while I was not expecting it, I decided to take them up on it anyway. The river view room was nice, but I am not sure it was actually better. Next morning the breakfast was good, only real issue I noticed is after 8:30-9 they pretty much stopped putting anything out. So disappointing to be sure. I would recommend this property, it is one of the nicer ones in town so far I've seen. read more

5 stars for an excellent hotel experience in Palatka. Anytime I have work in Palatka, I always stay at their relatively new Hampton Inn. Located off Memorial right by the river, this Hampton Inn is in a very convenient spot right in the downtown area. While you won't confuse this hotel or any hotel in Palatka for a 5-star resort, the clean rooms and the standard tasty breakfast make for a pleasant stay. What makes this Hampton Inn stand out, aside from the view of the river and great price-to-closeness ratio, is the staff. All of the staff have always been very friendly, and they even call up to my room each time after I've settled in to make sure I'm satisfied with my room. Having 5-star staff at a chain hotel is not always easy to find, so I do appreciate that aspect. Overall, the Palatka Hampton Inn is a solid choice for a place to stay if you are spending the night in the Palatka area. read more

After working all day at the local power plant, I booked a room at the Palatka Hampton Inn via the Hilton App. Upon arrival I went to check in & the young blonde at the front desk could not find my reservation. She said that sometimes the "System" will cancel a reservation when there are no rooms. She told me that there were no rooms available & that they were completely booked. I went back to my car & used the Hilton app to search for other nearby hotels. The Hilton app still indicated that rooms were available at the Palatka Hampton Inn. I called the Hilton hotline and made a reservation over the phone. I immediately walked back into the hotel and talked to the desk clerk saying that I had just made another reservation. A manager/assistant manager from the back walked up and worked with the blonde desk clerk to get me a room. The desk clerk admitted to the co-worker that she had cancelled my reservation. It turns out it wasn't the "System" that had cancelled the reservation, but her. The clerk was being dishonest having me believe that the system had cancelled my reservation. I checked out later in the week & was billed for 2 nights. No problem. A couple days later I check my Amex online & the hotel had billed me for my 2 nights stay and IN ADDITION THEY BILLED ANOTHER NIGHT FOR THE CANCELLED RESERVATION. I had nothing to do with the cancelled reservation, it was the desk clerk. I called the hotel & spoke to the assistant manager. She was aware of what had happened & told me that they would reverse the cancellation fee on my AMEX, but it could take up to a week. Now I must stay on top of this for at least a week to make sure that I don't end up paying for their mistake. Bottom line, if you stay at this hotel & assuming the desk clerk doesn't cancel your reservation you had better watch your credit card statement like a hawk to make sure they aren't fraudulently billing you. read more

Wonderful place. I'm in town to visit family and couldn't be more pleased with my stay. The location is beautiful, right off the river and the staff is fantastic. Everyone is so friendly and helpful. I just concluded the worst hotel experience of my adult life. I cannot begin to tell you how unconscionably bad the customer service at this particular Hampton Inn was. Horrendous attitude from the young lady working the front desk at this moment, Friday, June 30, 7:13pm EDT. I wish I had an actual name to complain about. After multiple requests, she refused to provide her name. She would not accommodate any request of any kind and then talked circles around why it wasn't possible to help modify our reservation. Let's show Hampton Inn that we have better values than this in Palatka. read more

First the good. It's right on the River. Pretty views on the River side. Newer facility. Convenient- what really isn't though in Palatka. Room was quite and AC blows nice and cold. Staff was reasonably friendly. What we didn't like: Those views come at at least a $30 premium thing be on the River side. Already at over $100 for just a normal room in this area was overpriced already. Same if you want to be on the top floor. Those are premium rooms. Ironing board cover was completely useless. They brought up another after we were told that they were not sure if they had a replacement. Towels and washcloths. Cheap. Poorly folded and thrown on the shelf. Looked dirty. Low and behold previous guest body hairs imbedded. Gross! Paint peeling off the ceilings already. Fresh fruit empty at breakfast. All in all a terrible value. read more

This hotel would have recieved a 4 star review from me if it weren't for the power tools in use on the floor above us at 8AM on a Sunday morning... Additionally, the "river view" I paid for was a 30" window overlooking the road (-1 more star). For starters we called a head of arriving and asked if we could have pets. We were told yes. Get to the hotel make a reservation and told the front desk we have pets. We were not told its service animals only. We got our things and went to the car to get our stuff and our pets. Later on that night we went to take the dogs out ( 2 chiweenies ) and the second we got off the elevator Liz snapped at us and said Are you a guest here? Whats your room number? Did you say you had pets? Is that a service animal? I then explained to her 1 yes we are a guest 2 our room number 3 yes we did we called a head and asked and when we checked in we asked. 4 no hes not a service animal. She then said Ok and not another word. The next day we seen the same person who checked us in and said hey what happened? We said we had pets and that lady Liz last night was rude! Morgan then said it was a miscommunication that she didn't hear us say we had pets. But that when you book a reservation online through a 3rd party website it says they allow pets but they dont. However they still have to honor it. We then appologized for the miscommunication and asked to book one more night for our stay. Morgan then booked us another night. Later that day I was headed to a wedding and in the oversite of being in a hurry I left One dog in the hotel room. ( the second was at her new home )My phone died and i wasnt able to charge it. Turns out the front desk wrote down our area code wrong anyways( its 253 they wrote 353 ) the one dog in the hotel room barked for a couple hours. The hotel called the cops who then entered our hotel room. The hotel blaimed us for not answering even though they also wrote down the wrong number. After the wedding we arrived at the hotel.. we walked into 4 staff including Liz and some night manager who showed up in her pjs. Saying they arent a roach motel and dont take dogs. We needed to get our stuff and leave and they would be charging a cleaning fee. After standing there begging to not be kicked out at 1030pm with two kids and all of our stuff. They were rude, insulting and said the hotel room was in unacceptable condition because i put dog food on the bed. I said its on a towl are are you kidding me? Never again will i stay here. Never will i recommend this place and the rude ass staff that work here. I didnt sneak any pets in and my room isnt in deplorable conditions either. We have traveled 3300 miles and this is the crap service you provide?!?! I took pictures of what you called unacceptable. If i could have gave this place a -star i would have. Im honest and upfront from the get go and this is how you treat your paying customers? Telling them your not a roach motel? Yes it is my fault for leaving the dog however your fault is not listening and writing down the wrong phone number among the many other things. read more

Last year I saw this hotel was under construction while there for a cycling event so I was looking forward to staying there this year since it's right beside the start/finish line. It's a beautiful modern hotel. Really nice comfortable rooms and Hilton beds are the best in the business. Now I would have given this 4 stars but I have to knock one star off due to the fact that my room had lukewarm water (at best) and only after letting it run for about 10 minutes. Really frustrating coming back after a hard 70 mile bike ride and not be able to hop in a hot shower. Now, friends staying in another room on same floor (3rd) said they had hot water. I notified the front desk on Saturday morning and they said they'd have maintenance look at it but I don't think they did. The other issue and also experienced by my friend... when using the toilet the seat does not stay up so you have to hold it up while doing your business. Across the street is a great little wine and craft beer lounge, highly recommend it and for dinner go to the BBQ place 1 block north, you'll love it. Other than the hot water issue it's a great place to stay and I will book again next year and hope for hot water. read more

We came into town for a wedding and stayed here. The hotel itself is very new. The room was incredibly clean & made it easy to relax and unwind. The staff were all very friendly, and incredibly helpful. Complimentary breakfast bar was solid as well. Did I mention the comfortable beds? Would definitely recommend if you're staying in Palatka. read more
