    Ready. Set. Daub!

I used to come every Tuesday and Thursday. It was my first bingo experience and I loved it! Unfortunately, feeling like it's the same people winning the majority of the time or having a 'Social Media' contest that seems a little biased, have pushed me away. I still want to go every once in a while, but definitely not like before. The volunteers are great, but a lot of the regular players are rude and some are just plain mean. Apparently the regulars have "their seats" even though you get there early and there are no "reserved" signs, you've taken their spot and some can get pretty nasty about it. Overall, it's still an okay place to go, hopefully you sit near helpful players if it's your first time.

I like this spot. Even though I have yet to win here, been here over 10x, it is always fun. They have tons of specials and raffles. During the holidays they have fun costume contests. The bingo caller Steve makes it fun!! They are quick to pass out the specials, strips or flashes. The winnings are big, lots of 1199, 750. Its a big area with tons of tv's. Huge parking lot. Friendly service and people. Definitely people who love their job. I recommend this spot to anyone looking to play bingo.

Only complain would be adding more selections to the snack bar; maybe a pretzel, popcorn, fruit, French Fries.

Bingo is back! St. John the Baptist Church hosts the event on Monday evenings, with early bird…read moregames starting at 6pm. Game play is just as intense and exciting as the charity bingo hall around the corner, fast paced, strict policies (better be quick to yell out bingo if you win!), lots of opportunities for cash prizes, friendly helpful people all around, and about 3-4 hours of bingo fun! Though the payouts are lower at St. John's ($100 payouts for early bird games, $200 payouts for regular games, plus $50 increase per game on the last Monday of the month), the buy-in is lower as well. As of July 2024, buy-in is $25, then $5 per game set after that. Each set (one pack) has 15 bingo sheets consisting of 5 early bird games and 10 regular games. Each sheet in the set has 6 bingo boards. The bingo games have quite a range of patterns throughout the evening in order to win, like "small crazy kite" or "postage stamps", and who knew that hitting all four corners on the board counts as a bingo!?! Thank goodness they also provide an easy-to-follow instruction sheet, so you know what you're playing and you don't miss anything, since the game goes quickly. Workers/volunteers also walk around selling flash, strip, cherry bell, and other special games. We got a few flash cards (kinda like scratchers, but cheaper with lower winnings)... won a buck total from 10 cards, lol. A food truck on site allows participants to enjoy some dinner or snacks while playing. We grabbed a couple tacos from the mexican food truck outside during one of the breaks, and it was pretty good. The event is open to ages 18 and over, though the crowd looks like mainly 50 and older. Even being some of the youngest players there, we fit in just fine and had a pleasant time at bingo night... will be back to win more than a dollar next time.

If you're a newbie like me (to a bingo hall, not bingo itself), I recommend going at least 25-30…read moreminutes early to learn how things work and determine if you want to add extra options, like flash games, etc. (more opportunities to win big). We arrived about 15 minutes before start time, but with parking being difficult (the lot was quite full) and having to wait in a short line for buy in, we didn't sit down till a few minutes before start time. And being given a large stack of bingo sheets/cards, didn't know what to do. Luckily the guy next to us was a regular and helped us out. Once they start, they go fast, and if you miss something or don't call out bingo quickly enough, you're out of luck. We got the minimum package on a Sunday evening ($80 per person, for two of us). Each sheet had 5 bingo sets on it (numbers only, no letters), and you play several sheets at a time, so yeah, you gotta pay attention and be quick to mark your cards. Luckily there are large clear screens where you can see the numbers called during each game until it's reset for the next game, but still you gotta be quick so I wouldn't rely on that to play catch up. To win, you need to get a bingo (3 in a row) for all 5 sets on one sheet before calling out "bingo", unless there are different instructions for a specific game. When we went, there were about 10-12 games throughout the night (more if you purchased extra), hence the stack of cards in the beginning, and it lasted about 3 hours including an 8 minute intermission. We didn't win, but it was fun (once we got the hang of it). The place had a casual atmosphere, older crowd (we were probably the youngest people there), everyone seemed to be friendly enough, mainly just minding their own business, and lots of hardcore bingo-ers! There were restrooms, coffee, and vending machines on site. The service was efficient, we didn't encounter any problems with staff, and there were plenty of workers/volunteers walking around during the games selling extra cards. If you want a chance to win some extra cash, this is a fun way to do it, and if you don't win, at least you know your money is going to charity. Also, gotta love the colorful themed bingo cards (ie. Betty Boop, and Popeye the Sailor).

Dialogue excerpt: Me: I'm so excited to play Bingo tonight!…read moreManuel M.: You're just excited to play bingo, because of the prospect a bunch of old men being at the same place. Me: Touché, my friend. But maybe true. +2 points for you. But beyond that candor, bingo has a special place in my heart. My mother and I don't do anything together much anymore, and when I was 15 - she introduced me to bingo. This was the first place we went. And today, after a horrendous day in the office, coupled with a horrendous current outlook on life - I decided, bingo was needed. And thank god, it was Monday - because every Monday, the Italian Men's Club does bingo. So first of all, they have some really good Italian food here. And it's cheap. I'm down for spaghetti, almost all the time... especially, if it's good. The facilities are not great, but the experience is great. I wouldn't recommend doing 4 regular bingo cards at a time, because I got tired. Buy-in is $15 minimum, usually the night starts at 6pm with early bird, dinner is served starting at 5, and the regular games start at 6:45. The people that go here are odd at worse, and usually nice at best. So after a day of wanting to stab myself in the ear with a pencil at the office, I tried doing numbers with a cute pink dabber instead. Judge me, that's fine. Was that last number, O69, people?

Bingo here is great. It's a $15 minimum buy in--that gets you two booklets (about 10-15 games), and a $1.25 for your own stamper. I mean, dabber. I mean, those things that you mark your sheet with as they announce B-5. Note--if you're confused at all during any of the games--feel free to ask one of the 'regulars.' You can tell who they are by all their bingo paraphernalia. Just don't ask them when a game is in play.
