The lines are excessively long for flash and buy-in, so if you can buy ahead online. The volunteers & regulars can be rude at times, although I get it but life is too short people. Let's remember the fun of winning small & big! If you plan on playing Flash, you are in for a long haul so if you are not ready for all that, I would say just play the strips. Either way you will be there all day it seems. I like the fact that there are plenty of bathroom stalls and always well stocked. The noise is a minimum and you get 2 intermissions but can use a bathroom break between flash games. Oh and parking isn't so bad if you get there at a decent time. Lastly when you purchase online, don't forget to reserve your seats too!! Lastly if you owe student loans and want another way to pay off, just volunteer your time as a volunteer. read more

The staff are friendly and the people are friendly The hours and program has changed a couple of times I went to the Saturday afternoon session that began at 1:00pm It was almost 6:00 pm when I was on my way home because of the number of flash games It was 4:45 pm when only 5 of the 10 programmed games had been played It was frustrating. They need to figure a way to do the flash where they don't Dominate the session Also a couple of the balls have a portion of the number worn off so it was hard to determine until the caller said it. There is enough money taken in to replace worn balls. read more

Idk who this is, manager or regular employee but she was extremely rude to me and it was my first time coming to this hall and keep in mind I live almost 2 hours away. She wanted me to wait back in the buy in line to purchase premium strips not excluded in buy in. It was a very long line I had to wait in and she wanted me to WAIT back in that line when I already waited to get my buy in . She rolled her eyes at me and made a grunting sound as if I was a bother to her. RUDE AF. The hall over all is pretty good. It's big, has a kitchen and sells a LOT of flash. So be prepared to bring a good amount of cash. They do also have premium strips that have high paying pay outs. Vending machine available, ice machine and water available. Food in the kitchen is alright. They do at times have a food truck outside that sells tacos. I do like the hall. Really just sucks that the person pictured was rude to me and made my energy down going into the game. read more

It's fun playing bingo at vsnguard in Santa Clara. They are all very nice and respect their players. The only problem at vanguard is when the hotball goes very high their water and ice machine gets broken and it gets hot at 2 pm when bingo starts and can't get any ice. Otherwise everything else is very nice and fun plsying bingo at vanguard. Also they play a lot of flash between the games and players that have no flash are stock until midnight to finish playing their regular games. Instead they can play most of their flash games after the regular games are done so players without flash can go home earlier than waiting into 12-1 am to go home. read more

Vanguard bingo, workers/staff/callers need to own up to their mistakes, errors etc., it's not a good look when you clearly are in error, I'm assuming it wasn't done intentionally.... James you were asking were there any more bingos, you said seeing none hearing none... I screamed bingo, you paused.... I was looking dead at you, you then said, this game is now closed! I know you had to hear me or you have no business calling. The call was loud.... And before you closed the game. Everyone there knows it including the staff and security but can't/won't acknowledge it. It is a form of cheating and being unfair to the customer. I've seen you say the next ball was in the monitor but wasn't called and you said the lady couldn't bingo..... the players said it wasn't right when it happened and talked about it afterwards. Because you make a disclaimer before bingo starts doesn't mean you are free to not follow the rules/protocol. When mistakes/errors are made you/Vanguard needs to be honest, fair and take responsibility and not weasel out of it. read more

While smokers have a right to smoke. This Bingo hall continually and blatantly violates the smoking ordinance by allowing patrons to smoke within 1 foot off every entrance. Often times you have to walk through a tunnel of cigarette smoke to get inside and because they allow patrons to smoke outside every door, depending on where you sit, the smoke comes inside and you are forced to inhale second hand smoke. It's really unfortunate because they have a designated outside smoking area but intitled patrons are allowed to smoke where ever they want on this property and management allows it. read more

Only the second bingo spot I have ever been too, so I don't really have room to compare. Came for the 3rd time a few weeks ago and it was chill. If you're a newbie then definitely come with someone who knows the ropes! They start at 6:15 and can go pretty late. I think we were there until almost 10, but last time we got out about 915. We got the $50 bundle which is 144 cards and you get the tablet so it's pretty easy to follow along u less you get more paper cards to play. They also have a kircehn with some decent food. I love the lumpias they serve and they also have steak fries! If you're looking to have some fun, I would recommend bringing about $100 if it's your first time becusse the money goes quick and when the volunteers come around with the flash games, you can't buy just a few! read more

Have gone to Vanguard for over a decade. Love going there. The atmosphere is friendly and makes you feel welcome. The workers there are always willing to help the best they can. The place does get busy but if you wait patiently and be respectful things go smoother. Plus they have A LOT of flash so even more fun. read more

My husband and I just had a baby, and our family said we could watch the kids for a couple of hours. My husband suggested we go play bingo and I thought it would be so fun! We came here and ended up not being able to play but definitely will return. We came here on a Sunday and it was packed! We spoke to the workers and they said they would charge differently depending on what time you desire to play, but that you need a four hour commitment. This is not a place you can just drop in. On Sundays they have bingo that starts at noon that goes until 4 pm and then another session at 6:15 pm until about 10 pm- so expect about a four hour commitment. We will definitely return and I will have to update my review, but the staff was friendly and helpful! read more

This bingo hall needs better callers and sellers that actually know what they are selling. I felt cheated here!!! We were playing horse race and my horse was on. However, he closed the horse race and said that another horse won and that he forgot to put the ball in the hole before. YOU DONT FORGET TO PUT BALLS IN!!! I spend money here. Good money. Whether I spend $100 or $1; the feeling of being cheated out on your chance is still the same! Talk to a manager? No use. "The game is over and we can't go back" If you are lucky enough to flag down a flash seller and they acknowledge you; don't get your hopes up because they will go over to the old ladies that will shame them for not serving the elderly first. While they have a cafe on-site; the food is mediocre at best. Turkey croissant sandwich with fries, corn dog and a cup of soup $19 that's barely worth $9 Also, don't be fooled that there is security. He is there to play bingo, not actually do his job. Mention it to management and they talk to him but he doesn't seem to give a damn. This was one of my favorites, before they made all the changes. My family and I would come a few times a week, Friday, Saturday (sometimes Saturday night) and Sunday morning session. Okay, it's been a few months since we last went here, because we've given up on this place but I wanted to downgrade my 5 star rating. We gave the changes a few tries, you know not to judge right away, but the prices are outrageous now and there are almost always multiple winners... also If you are not "on" within the first few numbers, forget it. I miss the old Manager and the old style. Yes, I understand updating and changes are necessary, but I feel they went the in the wrong direction. I love coming here all the time because everyone is just so sweet except for this particular lady! Someone shouted bingo and she went down our aisle. I didn't notice that my seat and the lady's behind me were so closed to each other and obviously she wasn't able to pass through. But instead of excusing herself or asking politely if we could move, she decided to PUSH US REALLY HARD and shouted "move your seats back in!" Our chairs tilted over to the point where both of us almost fell off our seats but she didn't bother to apologize at all. Like it was our fault that we were there. VERY RUDE. I am very disappointed by how this lady treated us. Stay away from her! I hope Vanguard would do something about her nasty attitude. read more

It's been about a decade since I've tried my luck at bingo. And still, in my mid-40's I'm among the spring chickens in attendance. Yay, for feeling youthful! Tomomi was interested in playing some bingo, so I was pleased to show her the ropes. Starting with buying our game pack for $20 and my sparkle orange dauber for $2.50, and then staking out our spot. Seating is plentiful, which is nice. The caller had a very pleasant voice, and kept a nice pace. All of the staff was super cheerful, friendly and helpful. Is it weird that I was hoping to win the game where the prize was 250 pull tabs, more than the ones that were cash money? Imagine getting to open 250 pull tabs.... "Nothing... nothing... $1!!!! Nothing... nothing... Nothing... nothing... $2!!! ..." What a hoot. read more

Crazy letter L, small corner X, picture frame, stamps and hardway 6 pack...? What? Newbie bingo player here. I was glad that I went with Linda M. who knew the "bingo lingo" and showed me how to play. Or I'd probably be calling "BINGO!" prematurely and got stink-eye from everyone. It wasn't the atmosphere where I can just ask the neighbor how to play each game. I saw tons of regulars here with troll dolls, multiple colors of daubers and special bingo bags. Volunteers were very friendly and easier to approach when we had some questions on how to play. A guy sitting next to us was nice enough to offer us to use his blue daubers as we played a wrong sheet with our orange and pink daubers. Whew... Lemme tell you, it was one colorful bingo paper we created. Bingo hall was pretty big. Small TVs all around to show each ball as it was drawn, and couple big boards makes it easy to see the overall picture. Parking lot looked huge but it was completely packed by the time we got there around 6:45 for 7pm regular session on Friday night. We needed to get an instruction for alternative parking area - it is always safe to ask them, right? The cafeteria was much better than I expected. Burgers, sandwiches, fries, cheesecake, pies, sodas, water etc... very, very reasonably priced. It was only $20 for 20+ games for 3 hour of playing time - what a good deal. I went on my birthday with my parents. I checked in on yelp to get a free game card but surprising nobody had a clue about what I was talking about and looked at me confused. I showed them the app and they said the owner/manager was on vacation so they 1 couldn't ask him and 2 then said they no longer honor the free card and it should of been taken off the website. I do have a complaint about the canteen which vanguards does not run. zero stars for the canteen Their prices are too high and their food is terrible and the people are rude. I had to send a hotdog back twice having a hard stale bun and ice cold hot dog. The guy cooking said he was a chef and the hotdog was cooked perfectly, there were so many complaints that day about cold hotdog.. I had raw chicken strips the week before and had to send back to the canteen. 5.00 for a small popcorn which was burnt and not fully popped. The food used to be great a few years back when the lady worked the canteen, there was healthy food, good choices, and prices were reasonable... the new canteen people have no healthy food and prices are outrageous and staff is very rude. I have been coming to this spot for about 5 years now. Great spot for bingo. I have won here on multiple occasions. My dad has come with me as well. He won 2 1199 on the same day. The caller is kind and sometimes a little quick, so if you are a beginner, I recommend getting only one packet so you can keep up. Tons of specials and lots of tables. Parking is good too. Huge parking lot. They have Birthday specials too which make it fun to go on that day. Definitely recommend this spot. And good luck! read more

We always have fun at Vanguard Bingo!!! We have been multiple times and have had fun each time. We have the option of getting paper cards, getting the machines or both... everyone has been friendly and helpful when we had questions. We booked a birthday gathering there and they even sectioned off space on the table so we could all sit together. They even provided a cake! It made for a fun evening! We have had winning days and non-winning days but each time has always been fun. read more

Played bingo here in the early to mid 2000's and it was crazy then. Still crazy. The staff has changed and so have prices. I didn't feel as comfortable as I did in the past. I'm not even sure why. The games seem to go pretty fast and it's just really expensive. Food is much more expensive as well. For the amount of money we spent, we could have gone to an Indian Casino. The only thing I enjoyed was showing my boyfriend what a bingo session was like. It was his first time and we hope to visit some new spots in the future. Bathrooms were nasty and I kind of expected that. Plenty of parking though. read more

Paper packs are not even included in machine buy in and must be purchased separately and even a free strip game not included like old program. Some games are confusing and too complicated! Bingo is my new found hobby! I'm 25 and would rather spend my Friday nights daubing bingo sheets than to be out partying my pants off. Anyone who hasn't given it a try MUST try it at least once. I brought a group of friends to play last night and each and every one of them had a great time. $20 for paper bingo game pack and an additional $12 if you want to play the machine bingo as well. You can win up to $250 per game plus more if you play the side games. Daubers run from about $1-$2.50 which last you forever. Remember to bring cash, no worries if you don't cause they have ATM machines. The people who run the bingo program is soooooo nice and helpful! During my first time, several of them came and offered us help and checked on us to make sure we were doing okay. They have plenty of seats so you're not crammed up next to a bunch of strangers. They do sell food, but i believe you can bring your own food/snacks although you'd probably only find time to eat during intermissions.Location is great. Tons of parking, lots of monitors and the size of it is pretty big. A lot of the people are usuals and there are some crazy angry bingo ladies there. For the most part, there's plenty of people to help if you need it. Just remember to turn off your phone cause there is likely someone to yell at you if it goes off. read more

This place is fun! It was my first time here and my sister actually found this place online. Her and my mom went to try it out. This time, the mother brought me as I was a newbie. I love playing Bingo and anything involving cash prizes are always gold in my book. The concession food wasn't too bad either. I ordered their Chicken Nachos with a side of fruit. Mucho Bueno! It's about $19 per person if you get the Early Bird Bingo ($4) along with the 15 - sheet Bingo ($15) that will last for a few hours. I'd not played here in forever and things have certainly changed over the years. They sell tons of flash games. They are the extra little cards you can purchase for one dollar each and when you crack it open, it can have numbers on it which means you get to play that game. If there are no numbers then you just lost your dollar but if you buy a bunch, then you're likely to get cards with numbers. It's sort of like playing keno. All of your numbers have to hit to win before anyone else yells bingo. You can win big if you hit. The regular bingo is fun and not boring because they play games with different patterns. Deducted a star because one of the flash sellers on the floor was extremely rude. She told a man and myself to follow her if we wanted to buy any flash so we did and when it was my turn she said she couldn't help me & I told her she said to follow her and she said that she had other people who called her over first. I told her it was B.S. and walked away. The lady next to me won a total of $1,500 and gave me 10 dollars as a good neighbor gesture. I gratefully accepted and had some lunch money today! So make friends with your neighbors, you never now when they might kick you down some greenbacks! I do the same when I have good neighbors too. read more

LOVE playing bingo here! The volunteer staff is super friendly and helpful. They even play your spot if you need to get up and use the restroom! There is always a variety of flash and strip games to play. I never get bored with the games as there is a good mix of familiar flash/strip intermingled with new games I haven't seen. I am a regular here and wouldn't dream of switching to another bingo establishment unless something major happened. The food at the snack bar is tasty also! read more
