The store is straight out of the 60s, sells mostly snacks, alcohol, and snack cakes, but does have a deli. They also have spiced shrimp fried chicken and breakfast. A super nice older lady is at the counter to take your order and we went with a turkey sub and some potato salad. She then shouts the order to what I'm assuming is her husband in the back. The order was prepared in no time flat. The sandwich was actually pretty good with the softest bread. I've had in a while and lots and lots of filling. I don't know how to describe it but honestly, it's like the best homemade sandwich ever. The potato salad was pretty unique and it came with celery, which is new for me. Nice and crunchy. Etchinson doesn't need any other delis, this one is definitely the best. Despite the retro vibes, we did ask if they took Apple Pay and the lady behind the counter responded with yeah baby. If you're in the area, I highly recommend you stop by especially since two chimneys cidery is right in the neighborhood across the street.

Zam Zam Market has a wide variety of Middle Eastern grocery items and pastries. Space is very cramped inside as they have fit racks of groceries tightly in the store. To order a hot and ready item, you can order at the register. Behind the register is a menu so you can see the food options. I ordered a falafel wrap and asked for it to be made dairy free. The wrap was made in 5 minutes. They made sure to not put sauce on the wrap, and instead but the dairy sauce on the side. I do wish the wrap had a sauce option that was vegan like hummus or a spicy red sauce. It was a little dry with nothing. That falafel though made this wrap totally worth ordering The falafel was so light and perfectly flavored. Finally a falafel ball that is not burnt on the outside, dried out, or just tastes like parsley. This falafel was everything I could have dreamed of, and I will certainly order it again. Next time I visit Zam Zam not only will I bring a shopping bag to grocery shop, but I also look forward to another authentic falafel wrap. There is enough parking if you want to get their popular chicken. I wasn't really a fan of my sandwich. I thought it was going to be one big giant piece of chicken like Chick-fil-A. Or Dave's Hot Chicken. It wasn't. It wasn't very tender nor juicy. So now I know just to get the potato wedges which are very good. I usually go to the Royal Farms in Hyattsville, which is on my way home from work, but from now on, I'll be frequently this location since it's very convenient for me from my home to work. I'm sure they're going to do extremely well considering the fact that their gas is about $.60 per gallon cheaper than the gas station right next-door.
