They also have store picks of Buffalo Trace for less than VA ABC's price for a regular bottle. Great location, free parking, knowledgeable staff, LOTS of store picks and special buys. Love this place. Highly recommended.

There are two parking garage entrances, one from Old Georgetown Road and another from Woodmont Avenue. We entered from Woodmont, which was a bit confusing since we had to pass through two parking gates. Exiting onto Old Georgetown Road was much smoother and had no gate. Parking is free and plentiful. Overall, this is not a place where I would do all my grocery shopping, but I might stop by occasionally to pick up something new or interesting. It could also be fun to visit a Lidl outside Maryland that sells alcohol. I remember the one in Paris, France had a great and affordable wine selection.

They also have specialty dishes, of Ethiopian origin. I spend considerable time in the neighborhood. I live in New York City. But my elderly father is on his own in suburban DC. My wife and I stay right by this market. If we need something, such as a bottle of wine to with dinner, this is where we stop in. It's great to have it near, and not only for its convenience. Purchased four boxes of knishes. I realize now that they had probably been in stock before Passover. I prepared the 16 knishes according to instructions on the box. They were dry & stale . No one could eat them. Tossed them all . Also purchased lamb chops for 13 people. There was so much fat on them it took me three hours to trim them. One guest complained that one of the lamb chops he had tasted rancid. Also bought an iced chocolate cake to put birthday candles on. When I prepared to slice the cake I found that the icing covered paper wrapped around the round cake. The cake was stale even though the icing was fresh. So much for Moti's!

News Flash: A public restroom in ANY kind of store does not have a "Potty Manager" on duty at all times. If one finds the toilet facility in poor condition, report it to the Customer Service Desk. The cost of kosher food goods is/has been/ will always be higher than that of certain non-kosher goods, particularly involving meat products. Due to specific religious obligations which must be observed to ensure a more humane slaughtering process, a higher cost factor is involved. Carnivorous and keep kosher? Well, then. You're gonna pay more to eat that burger.

The good, the bad, and the ugly: the good are the prices. The prices are great, not getting around that fact. The bad is the selection. They have very limited selection and most of it is brands, I have never heard of. So, when I went to look for yogurt, there was one or two brands and neither of those were Greek yogurt. I walked around the store for a few minutes and no one offered their help or asked if I needed any help or service. So, I found them lacking in employees. Lastly, it is just the ambiance. It reminds me of a big box store. It is not well organized or maybe it is just not my cup of tea. Now, to be fair, it could be this particular Aldi, but I just think it is a no frills shopping grocery store. And, I need some of those extras when I go shopping. Sorry, Aldi, we were just not meant for each other.

I'm always a sucker for items I don't need, but I plan to give the one find I bought for $4.99 to my mom. I got away with only spending $19.00. (Shrimp fried rice is really good for $4.99.) If I have a need to go to PetSmart, or The Big Greek cafe nearby, I will shop here again. Until then, I will stick with my Aldi 1.5 miles away.
