Visited for a fundraiser last week and was able to enjoy Fairport brewing. I didn't know it was on University. I had their espresso martini and then a seltzer. I've never been to either location and I'll definitely be back. Parking was a bit limited with it being a fundraiser and lots of people stopping in. read more

The place is cool. You have to know it's here, though! Liked the tall tables near the stage for enjoying the live music (we saw Europa and they are amazing!). Appreciated that this live music event was a fund raiser. Kudos for doing that. Saw they had corn hole and darts but didn't do either. Nice that it's available, though. The only thing that would prevent us from returning is; a glass of ordinary wine is quite overpriced IMO (and the bartender literally poured it into a measuring cup first, so for sure you're not getting one drop more...no "generous pours" here). I don't drink beer so wine was my only option and at $15 a glass I only had one. If it was more like $8-$10 I'd have had a second. Not to be cheap but I get paying that at an upscale lounge or a nice restaurant. But not a casual brewery. And I am surprised they don't sell ANY snacks of any kind. Not even a bag of chips. So it's 100% liquid diet here with nothing to absorb the alcohol and nothing to make you thirsty for more. Interesting choice. read more

tried their timbucha and not only was it terrible (i'm not sure how you could call it kombucha) but it had a beer like after taste and gave me a gluten reaction (i am severely allergic) !! these cans need to come with a warning as i am assuming they use the same equipment without cleaning? read more

Very much appreciate the non-beer and non-alcoholic options (though I do like their beer!). You can get a kombucha, a hard kombucha, wine, and mead! Also randomly Budweiser, Bud Light, and Mich Ultra on tap? Do not appreciate the bad sound system as the sound is very grating (maybe blame it on the very open space, but hard to tell) and the $5 cover when the band only has one song left. Do love that they have free event space (like even for your wedding!), free wifi, and lots of live music. Would probably return on a non-party night because we like their beer. read more

5 stars for great beer and allowing dogs both inside and outside of the brewery! I called ahead to make sure and was so thrilled to hear we could bring our pup to enjoy the brewery on a rainy evening. We parked, got settled in, and ordered two octoberfest beers. The space is super industrial and very big. There was some kind of private event happening in the back which I noted for future private event needs! It's only semi private but includes a stage and is certainly separate from the rest of the brewery proper. They have their incredible timbucha available and some kombucha cocktails I an excited to try. Wine selection is limited but available. Follow the beer signs to the back of the complex and get your drank on! read more

My friend had a different place in mind but they close on Mondays. So we ended up here and this location is buried in the back end next to the rock climbing place. We walked in and thought it was not open but the general manager came out and settled us in. There was only two other customers there, sitting by one of those high tops. I picked the crown jewel and my friend got a dark beer. We both liked our choices. I'm not a serious beer drinker so I usually go by my instinct or the lowest ABV...Then my friend started chatting with the general manager (for almost an hour, I think lol), who was very open to talk about the business and whatnot. We then sampled most of what's on tap, including the hard kombuchas. The chat plus the free samples - well, it was a nice experience and I got to hear about some behind the scene stuff. Came here for a meetup event and it was amazing! Tuesday night was quite calm and Tim, the owner was just a darling. He gave us the story of how it all started with Timbucha and allowed us to sample some of their amazing kombucha. If you haven't tried Kombucha before, you're in for quite a treat. They literally make everything house, from from tea blends to the honey that's harvested by their beekeeper. This place is absolutely a gem and I can't wait to come back when it's karaoke night. read more

I cannot day enough good things about my experience working with Tim and Kristen! My husband and I had eloped in August and had a Halloween-themed reception at the brewery. Kristen was great about checking in, the months leading up to it and they let us decorate the place for Halloween and bring in a caterer at no additional charge. They were amazing to work with, so kind and friendly, easy to work with, and the fact that they only charge for drinks at an event is a huge service to the community. Our guests raved about it too. Love this place. Great stop with great drink options. The most difficult part to your visit will be finding it so I'll start my review there. Accessed directly across from Granger Place then into that industrial lot. There is usually a sign and sometimes a FBC truck to help mark where to turn. Take that all the way to the back and you'll find a red door with their logo. Your mission is to enter that red door if you're willing and able. If you're local it's next to Roc Ventures which is next to Hot Shots. This is their excess production site. They put some tables and a bar on wheels next to the large walk in cooler and serve the drinks from it. Nothing fancy and the true warehouse experience (not the Wegmans look like a warehouse style). Plans to do more to the space but get in there soon to enjoy it in its infancy! Great drink options. Always good beer on tap, beerbuchas (half beer half kombucha), and kombucha cocktails. Card games and pretzels to make your stay even more enjoyable. Pro tip: your Uber will also have a hard time finding the location. read more

I took no photos but I won't soon forget the kombucha cocktails, holy sweet love of my life they are good. I'd totally buy them bottled and if they go that direction wowza the dollhairs they'd make. They have a lot if plans for this currently warehouse space, soon there will be a bar with the Erie canal in it, a deck and other lovely things to draw you. There's plenty of parking and before they open a kitchen they aren't opposed to you bringing in food. read more

Fairport Brewing Company's new University location is definitely in the development phase and has a ways to go before it's a regular bar space, but the beer is really good. The Kombucha is ok too, I don't love it generally, but on our recent visit the bartenders offered us tastes of each of the flavors on draft and they weren't too bad! A particular favorite was the beer and Kombucha mix, which is only around 4% ABV. They also have all the classic Fairport beers on draft. Fairport Brewing is a welcome addition to NOTA. They are planning to build out the bar area and complete the tasting room. We were there during the first few weeks and it felt like more production space than a tasting room. There are picnic tables to sit at and beer comes in plastic cups, but I think once they get a good foothold this will be a cool addition to an area that is starting to have a lot of microbreweries! read more

I absolutely loved this place. We had originally planned on going to Three Heads, but because they were closed for a private event, we decided to investigate FBC University, Fairport Brewing Co.'s University Ave location. And I'm so glad we did. They're still in the (pretty rough) construction stages, but they've got it set up to function just like a tap room and it gives it an interesting edge. The bartender was absolutely lovely - so friendly, accommodating, and knowledgeable. They had a few tables set up, each with some sort of party game (chess, beeropoly, etc.). We choose beeropoly and ended up playing for SEVERAL hours. As for the beers and cocktails, they were top notch. I'd had limited knowledge of kombucha, but never really tried it. The "Crown Jewel" (aptly-named), is their beer infused with kombucha and B12 vitamins, and it's only 80-something calories! It was FANTASTIC. I enjoyed their kombucha-infused cocktails too. They tasted just like their original counterparts, but much less sugary and more refreshing. It's a bit tricky to find - hidden back behind a large building and kind of in a parking lot. They have a small sign out on the sidewalk pointing you in the right direction and it's right next to RockVentures. It's going to seem like you're headed in the wrong direction as you try to find it, but it's back there, I promise! Can't recommend FBC University enough and we're very much looking forward to going back and refilling our growler! ;-) read more

This beer is freaking amazing. Also, the kombucha is perfect. It's the only kombucha I'll drink. Five stars for sure. They've got a beer/kombucha combo that's so refreshing (it's called the Crown Royal). Definitely give it a try. read more

Excellent beer, excellent kombucha for the folk who partake in that, and a very friendly bartender. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit here. Rather than offering different takes on a single style, there are flavors for every palate. I recommend getting a flight because the beer (and kombucha) options were all so good. read more

I've been to just about every brewery in downtown Rochester, and in my opinion this is the best brewery in town...hands down.
