Drove up and at first said oh great a motel! After checking in went to the clean room and the AC was set at 60 degrees and not blowing I was like great have to move rooms called the front they sent their tech he pulled the old ac out and replaced it new! Never have I seen such sense of urgency! This place is old but well kept for 100 a night I'll take it! Also it is newly renovated just bring your own toiletries there's are somewhat cheap! read more

Great sleep, but the front desk needs a lesson in hospitality We stayed here for one night and had a mixed experience. On the positive side, the room was decent and appeared clean. The highlight was definitely the mattress--it was incredibly comfortable and provided a great night's sleep. However, the service at check-in was disappointing. We arrived at 3:00 PM and politely asked if our room was ready, as we had an event to attend. Even though check-in is at 4:00 PM, we've often been accommodated at other hotels if the room is available. The woman at the front desk was quite rude and dismissed us with a blunt 'No, you have to wait until 4:00 PM.' It wasn't the policy that bothered us, but her poor attitude and lack of professionalism. Because of this, we couldn't check in until we returned at 3:30 AM. Also, be aware that it can get a bit noisy at night; there was a reception nearby, and people were talking loudly in the parking lot late into the evening. It wasn't a dealbreaker, but the customer service definitely needs improvement. read more

I was staying in room 104, I come down to homestead every 2 weeks to see my sun and I have to rent for 3 nights every time. I was staying at Garden inn and wanted to try a different place so I picked fairway inn. I had a emergency on the 18th and checked out of the 19th before the 11am. I had asked for a refund for the remainder of nights I had left was 2 nights. Well your staff told me I had to go thru Expedia since that was who I booked it from and Expedia immediately called fairway Inn. Expedia came back to me and said fairway inn wouldnt budge on my reservation. I was in the emergency room from around 6pm till 3am. I had a severe panic attack and can't remember anything what happened to me so I can't tell you why since the ER couldn't find out why this happened to me. Sorry such a long message, I just wanted to know you guys lost me every 2 weeks for not helping me out! I would have stayed with you for so many months but your company decided to not help your customers! You should know I rent an apartment or inn every other weekend to be with my son! read more

The ongoing pandemic has definitely taken a toll on a lot of businesses and public places since a consumer's mindset to buy anything outside of essentials or to visit a public place like a park or beach, has crippled down significantly. Now by living with what has become the new normal, it is commendable on how these businesses and public places continue to remain open and cater to the general public by following the safety standards. It is now all the more important that we as customers, support these heroes during these dark hours to mankind. This place was literally a God-sent considering the nightmarish experience we had at the other hotel in the vicinity. We had to book this hotel at the last minute since we could not stay at the poorly maintained hotel that we had previously booked. The check in was very convenient with Randy at the front desk and we got a nice room too. The property was quite big and we had a 2 minute drive from the front desk to the hotel room. The room was one of the best maintained and well kept ones. The property is well connected to both Everglades and Biscayne National Parks and some good restaurants, nearby. We picked the packaged breakfast that had granola bar, apple and a muffin on both the days and had an enjoyable 2 night stay at this place. If you are at Homestead/Florida city, this is the place to be! read more

Shit. Was all TERRIBLE service and RUDE workers. DISGUSTING behavior from staff as well. Had to book an EMERGENCY hotel room because the strip was closed due to the brush fires happening. Had a misunderstanding with the hotel about their shady deposit they want from you ON top of the room booking money, which I did not have so we had to cancel with NO refund. They would not refund us at all, this hotel is very cheap for not being able to give back $60 for a one night room AND asked for a $100 deposit, which I now for sure doubt we would have ever gotten back. Makes me thankful we didnt stay there, someone was looking out for us. If that's how they do business, they sure as hell don't clean anything or provide nothing. Probably also one of them florida hotels with cameras in the room.. for sure gave off that creepy vibe. Overall, do not recommend this shit hole, better off sleeping with the wildlife!!! read more

EXTREMELY unhappy with check-in. I was told my room was ready, but when I got there I saw someone was still inside cleaning. I waited in my car in the heat for an hour. Finally went inside and it turns out two staff members were sitting and chit chatting...?! The room itself is basic but seems functional. Air conditioner works well. The hotel was nice enough but when I woke up in the morning my room had lost power. There was no hot water, no lights and no clocks functioning. I had to take a cold shower in the dark. It's a trivial issue, but I was expecting the hotel staff to address the issue a bit further than "it's just your building." The wifi was also so weak that it wouldn't function and the room was a dead zone for cellular service. Had everything functioned properly, I would definitely recommend this hotel, but I would never stay here again at risk of losing power. read more

Wow! Do not stay here this place is not safe. Drug deals non stop in the room right beside us. In about 2 hours we watched 7 different vehicles pull up in front of the room beside us, they would blow the horn or knock on the door and then be gone in minutes. Due to the illegal activities going on beside us our room began to smell like marijuana. Maintenance man states do not leave anything in plain sight in the back of your truck or in your vehicle or it will be stolen. I am surprised that the staff is tolerant of these actions and illegal activities. DO NOT STAY HERE definitely not safe nor secure! read more

For the money, a good pick. Clean, close to the limited services in the area. Nice staff. Cons. There's something wrong with the electronic door locs. The cards don't work very well. Maybe they need to have the batteries replaced. The A/C system is a little loud. One of the outside ice machines doesn't work. The breakfast could be better, a lot better. They tried, but it didn't cut it in my book. Not in a tourist area. They would have been better off putting 6 gallons of milk and 12 boxes of cereal on the counter, as well as a couple boxes of instant oatmeal. They get 3 stars for trying. DISGUSTING. Found this dirty/bloody tissue in our bed under the comforter. Sheets were dirty. Was given new sheets to put on our bed OURSELVES and NO new comforter. Next morning front desk staff was rude and unhelpful. We only got a 10% adjustment off our 100$ room rate. They said at our next stay we would get an upgrade. As if we would EVER go back!!! Had a great experience here on a weekend get away with my son. Our room was pretty simple, but ample for a home base for a weekend of exploration. We didn't need much more from our lodging than a clean place to sleep and shower, and this fit the bill. Conveniently located to all of our destinations- Key Biscayne, The Everglades and Islamorada- as well as local favorites like Robert is Here, we were very happy with our experience. Arriving later than expected, around 11:30 PM, we were greeted by a friendly desk staff member who quickly checked us in and got us our keys. The room was quiet despite a full parking lot. Removed one star due to the pool being closed and a very underwhelming breakfast. But I WILL definitely stay here again next visit. read more

Surprised to see the yelp reviews are not a bit higher for this place. I had an overnight stay here on way to Everglades and the Keys and the price paid for what you get for is quite phenomenal. I suppose its because I came around the time not still high season but for under $80 really surprised to see the hotel so well run. My room was great and everything seemed quite new. The pool I didn't get to use but it looks quite nice after the renovation. Breakfast was great and they kept my iPad quite secure when I left it out on the common areas by mistake :) Very friendly front staff and delicious breakfast. I guess the only minor complaint I have would be the wifi speed, but then again pretty much all of the hotels I stayed at have relatively slow internet speeds. Theirs stay connected quite well however. This is definitely a great place to spend your night if you're planning on traveling south to the Keys or going into southern entrance of Everglades. Its really is just a block away from the US-1 and Turnpike intersection. They definitely work hard to deserve all the praise. Highly recommended. read more

This was completely not what I was expecting. I booked it for a night on our way to Key West because we were getting in in the evening and I just wanted somewhere cheap, so we could start the scenic part of our drive in the morning. Only after booking it did I learn that apparently it was in a super dangerous part of Florida, so I was a little nervous about carjacking or whatnot. Anyway, I drove in around 8 PM on a Monday, thinking I was going to be in an oasis of calm in a super-sketchy looking neighborhood. It is totally not at all - more like a little bubble of suburban in a fairly rural-feeling area. The area isn't *nice*, but it doesn't feel super sketchy, more just like a place where you wouldn't walk around because duh, it's not really a place where people walk around. The hotel itself felt like a cheap hotel, but a super nice one, and that is exactly what it was. I had zero issues or wait checking in or out - the staff were all *surprisingly* friendly for a hotel of this inexpensiveness. Our super cheap room was super spacious, with well-maintained-looking tile floor (funny enough, very fancy tile floor - made to look and feel like hard wood, it fooled me at first). Wifi works surprisingly well for a cheap hotel (way better than plenty of much pricier ones I've stayed at), and was even pretty fast (about 7mpbs - I checked cause I was curious). The curtains got pretty dark. Fridge and microwave were included and worked perfectly. AC worked great and was fairly quiet. Bed was a little hard, but not so hard as to be annoying. Breakfast was nothing fancy, but did include basic hot food. At no point did I feel even the slightest bit like I was in a sketchy neighborhood. And when we left, we were basically right in the upper keys immediately afterwards - it's perfectly situated between Miami and the keys. My high rating is obviously predicated on it continuing to be super cheap, and I wouldn't be nearly as impressed if they jacked up the price a bunch, but I'm always a little nervous when places are that cheap, and in this case, I lucked out. read more

We had our flight cancelled due to weather. I called this hotel to move our reservation back one day. The front desk attendant said I would need to talk to the manager, but that it was late and the manager wouldn't be in until the next morning. Terrible customer service . We arrived late to check in ; having already paid . The gentleman at the desk was so rude and upset when I checked in from the start . He asked for $1 deposit and I gave him my MasterCard . He said they didn't accept those cards and did I have another card . I did not . I had cash & he wouldn't accept that . This was 3:45am and I was in town to attend a memorial service. He denied the room I paid for and after asking for a refund they denied that as well because I was canceling . I didn't ; they did . This place is well located about 15 min from Key Largo and 15-20 min from the Royal Palm Everglades entrance. Not to mention just a few blocks from Robert is Here, an epic fruit stand/milk shake joint. The hotel itself is just decent. Rooms face the parking lot rather than a hall, so there is always more ambient noise with that setup. Our air conditioning seemed to be on it's way out, turning on and off throughout the night with horrible noises and failing to cool well. However, rooms were clean and had a decent amount of room. TV with decent channel selection, nice sized fridge, etc. Beds were comfortable, and the wifi was decent (though it did kick you off from time to time). All around a decent place to stay, particularly if you're just looking for a place to sleep. read more

We had 2 separate stays here within a week. Two different experiences, neither without concerns. *Booked based on price, location (close to national parks) and the photos that looked pretty nice. *Staff was great. No complaints. Grounds are kept up nicely. *It's a motel. *First visit: First few hours of sleep were always interrupted by motorcycles driven in at midnight to 2 am and riders speaking loudly in front of our door. Second visit: not a problem. *First visit great room! Spacious bathroom and upgraded furniture. (Freezer part of fridge didn't freeze so we lost our ice cream treats). Second visit junky furniture, small bathroom with yucky looking tile job. See photo. Relatives booked a room too and when we got back from exploring at 5 pm, their room still hadn't been cleaned. *Breakfast area is poorly laid out and ridiculously crowded. RUDE Russian over-muscled bikers bullied their way in line. Smokers outside the screened in dining patio send smoke into that area. A breakfast at a motel is usually a plus, but not in this case. I would not recommend this motel to anyone who can afford a few more dollars to stay someplace else. read more

Nice stay. Rooms are clean, parking safe, area quiet for the most part, nice staff. Would have given it another star if the smoke alarm didn't go off at 3 am for no reason. This may have happened here before, from reading the reviews. Hot water was spotty but ran long enough for a good shower. My room, though very clean, smelled of an unpleasant chlorine or somewhat-dirty rag (maybe from mopping the floors). I had to air it out, and the smell went out eventually the next day. So, I am a little late in posting my review. I had read other users reviews before staying. Checkin was super easy and very friendly! When I got to the room, I immediately checked for bed bugs - NONE. The beds were a bit hard but the room had a mini fridge and microwave (great for a 8 night stay), and the cleaning every day was perfect! The TV had dozens of channels (like 4 HBOs) and internet was free (although sometimes not as fast as I would have liked). Its just off the turnpike and plenty of food within walking or driving distance. A great value when you a need a cheap place to stay! I would return! read more

3 night stay. Hotel room was very clean. It had the smell of bleach everywhere. Bleach = Germ Free/Sanitize Clean. Bed was perfect. Pillows and Blankets perfect. Really my only 2 minor complaints are 1. The bar of soap they the provide could use an upgrade. Men and Women like soap lather. That soap did not lather up well. . 2. Their breakfast did not meet my expectations. I recommend you go across the street to Starbucks Pay the $5.00 and get a coffee and Breakfast sandwich. With that said I would come here again and I would recommend this hotel to my friends. Of course if you are looking for a Downtown $200-$300 room. Then go downtown and get your snootiness on. Summary: I would stay here again. We stayed for one night before we were headed to the Florida Everglades. Nice place, I expected to see a cockroach (only because it's Florida) and none were found! I liked the laminate floors, it felt cleaner. Breakfast in the morning was good. Spread out so everyone could browse different items at once. My only concern was that it was difficult to find. It was an excellent home base for my fiancee and I as we checked out Miami (1 hr), the Everglades (30 min) and the Keys (30 min to Key Largo, 2.5 hr to Key West). Pretty darn good. Boyfriend and I went on a Keys vacation and we stayed in Homestead, at the Fairway Inn, for a couple nights on each end. It's a really nice, less expensive hotel. Very clean. The staff is friendly. You can tell that things have been updated. The rooms are quite large with king size beds. The breakfast is the standard free breakfast stuff and the area gets a little crowded, but it is perfectly fine, exactly what you would expect. Everything else was better than expected. Boyfriend has spent a lot of time. He says this is the best place in the area and I believe him. I was quite happy with our stay. read more

After driving from NC, we were looking for a place to stay the night before our morning drive into Key West. This was a perfect place to get a night's rest. They advertise their price and free WiFi on their outdoor sign. It's a fair value for the price, and they offer a senior discount. The night manager was very nice. The rooms are simple but clean with microwaves and mini-fridges. The bed was comfortable, and I had a good night's rest. FYI, the shower knob was reversed so I had to put it on cold to get hot water. The WiFi was a little slow, but nonetheless it was a welcome amenity. There's a continental breakfast and a visitor's center where you can get maps and travel info. The location doesn't appear to be in the nicest part of town but the room was surprisingly much nicer than expected when we pulled up to the motel. I don't normally like to stay in motels because I don't like that people can walk by my window and look in. Therefore I can't let the sunshine in. The room had hardwood floors instead of carpet and in Florida why do most hotels have carpet? It's humid and the rooms don't get natural ventilation. The room at Fairway was clean and the shower water pressure was good and the tub drained well! The Internet worked very well unlike all of the other hotels we stayed at. This is a very good value. It's older than most places but it's very clean and well maintained. The people who run it are very nice and go out of their way to accommodate your needs. I would stay at the Fairway Inn again. The only problem I had was the wireless network. Every single room in the facility was booked and I think all of us overwhelmed the wireless network. PLEASE BE CAREFUL WITH BASIC ROOMS VS. PREMIUM ROOMS. I wholeheartedly believed that our stay here would be great. I looked at the photos and everything looked wonderful. I went to their website and booked the room. I was pleasantly surprised that it was also cheap at a little over $50 a night. Checked in really late at around 1am (flew into Fort Lauderdale and was driving to Key West.) Guy in the front was very nice. We requested for a room in the 2nd floor (our "safety rule" in any cheap motels.) Guy said fine, he gave us the keys and off we went to the Walgreens next door and grabbed some water and snacks, and then we drove to our room. Problem #1: he gave us first floor room anyway. - Went back to the front without even entering the room and told him about his mix-up. He then switch us to a 2nd floor room. Fine. Problem #2: a. We only stayed in this room for no more than 30 minutes and we killed FOUR cockroaches. b. Carpet looked like a murder scene. Dirty, dingy, burnt marks from cigarettes and IRON everywhere. c. I am highly highly highly allergic to mold. When I say highly allergic, I mean, my lungs will shut down and I will die. Well, needless to say, within the first five minutes of us staying there, I was in pure hell. I took some allergy meds thinking maybe it is just that the room is really dusty and that is why Im having some kind of allergic reaction. Mind you, this is already around past 1am and we were really exhausted. To make a long story short, by the 30th minute, my eyes were puffed up, ears, throat, LUNGS, were itchy as hell, I have coughed up 30 gallons of phlegm and spit, and it was clear that I may die in this room. So, we called the front desk and told him about this and this is problem #3 - He was a bit irate about it and said, "FIne, I can move you AGAIN." - first of all, it was your fault that we had to move the first time since you gave us a first floor room by mistake. YAR. - I explained to him that on the photos, the rooms were hard wood and looked much newer than what we now have, and his response was: Oh, thats the premium rooms. You only have basic. If you want the nicer room, it is extra. - Well, it was $20 extra more a night, and I agreed to pay for the extra. I had no strength to argue at this point We go to the front, and when we got there, he told us that they will move us to the premium rooms for no extra charge. I feel like I should be grateful about this, but my point is this: it shouldnt matter if the room is basic or premium or what have you. All rooms should not have any hazardous materials/chemicals/ etc INCLUDING MOLD. ALL rooms should be safe and all customers should have the right for a safe and hazard free room regardless of how much they have paid. Anyways, he moved us to a "premium" room, and guess what? IT WAS ON THE FIRST FLOOR ... good god man! at this point, I was just ready to sleep since we have a long road trip ahead the next day, and I just propped a chair on our door for extra protection. Now, the premium rooms that are around $70-$80 a night is much nicer than the basic one. Had I known, via pictures, that the cheaper one looked like it did, I wouldve gladly paid this price to begin with. It was hardwood floor, freshly painted, better fixtures, etc. It is definitely cheaply renovated, but much nicer than the first room all in all. FREE BREAKFAST: Yay, they have scrambled eggs. The waffle maker is quite popular to everyone, and EVERYONE, and I mean, EVERYONE takes advantage of this free breakfast so try to get there early. It ends at 11 am and 10 am is the most popular time of the day... so popular you will have to sit at the pool area (HOT) to eat. But regardless, I liked it. Scrambled eggs, cereal, oatmeal, coffee, waffles, bread, and juice. A couple of other things too like fruit and something else. Free wifi and it works just fine. Nothing super fantastic, but it was great. They do have an outdoor pool, and you may like that if motel pool is your thing. There are plenty of parking spaces. The BEST part of this motel is the location. It has several restaurants/fast foods in the area, there are two liquor stores close to it, there is Walgreens next door for all your other needs. It is also right on the main highway to key west. All in all, I could give this place a three star AT THE MOST if their picture were more honest from the get go. They should take pictures of their BASIC VS PREMIUM rooms so that people know what theyre getting into. Also, the fact that there was mold in the basic room and how much I suffered because of that really irritates me. However, all in all, customer service was nice. Although ol dude from that first night was irate and had put us on the first floor TWICE after our clear request for a second floor, he did try to be nice and tried his best to accommodate. I give this place four stars because it offers great value. Clean rooms, nearby shops and restaurants, and a great jumping-off point for the Keys. Breakfast on the other hand, was chaotic and if you're 1 or 2 adults I suggest skipping it altogether and getting breakfast elsewhere. You are saving enough money on the room that you can afford to splurge on a nice breakfast during yer vacation, IMO. If you are a family with kids, then go join the breakfast zoo and good luck. read more

I barely leave any negative reviews unless it's well deserved because I'm the first to give the benefit of the doubt but unfortunately this location was not it. After a hard working day yesterday my boyfriend and I decided to stay at this location for the night and of course reading the reviews this place was sounding awesome like a dream come true, for the price as well. I booked it online and checked in with no issues but the nightmare began as soon as I walked into the room , I put my bags on the table and instantly began to see white dots moving on the table which my boyfriend said were térmites. We bought pizza and brought it into the room and sat It on the bathroom stall because we didn't want the térmites to get into the box and that was even worse red ants began to come out from the wall corners. Great we had to eat in the car and then after all of this i go use the bathroom and the toilet paper Is the very thin one that's from the dollar store , not only that but then when we laid on the bed the sheets were stiff as if it was air dried and the pillows were basically not even pillows but a sack with cotton in it. It's not over yet but us being so tired we just went to sleep and the air conditioner began to make all kind of noises that kept us up from 2 am .. by 6 am we just decided to leave. My boyfriend checked out and complained to the front desk and the lady working there was paying no mind to him but just nodding her head like she didn't care. For the 98 dollars a night I would of expected a little more than this, I feel like we should get what we paid for but this time around we got played. Ok, this place looks a little sketch from the outside. I am used to staying in Marriott or Hilton chains (work travel) so I was nervous when we pulled into this place my friend found and booked for us. We were staying here getting in late and getting up early to drive down to the keys so it really was a stopover. The hotel was inexpensive and convenient. Starbucks and Walmart near by - win. The inside of the rooms were very clean. Updated. The floors were wood laminate. The showers were tiled. All pretty nice. The beds were not comfy at all but like I said, this place was inexpensive. Free breakfast too - including waffles and eggs. Definitely would recommend if you're on a budget or looking for a quick stopping point to or from the Keys. read more
