We had such a great experience at Hotel Redland I figured I should write a review, especially since there were not any up yet! I found out about the hotel in an old Fodor's guide book. My boyfriend and I where taking a trip from Daytona Beach down to the Everglades in June. We booked the room which was very affordable for us and sort of didn't know what to expect, there was not a website or pictures up yet as the hotel had just gotten new owners a few months before. The hotel is beautiful, the owners have done a great job of restoring the place. The room we stayed in was perfect, clean and cozy and nicely decorated. The couple that own the place are great, they where extremely helpful and attentive. I actually think that we where the only people staying in the hotel as it was the off season to visit the Everglades. The Whistle Stop restaurant was not open yet so I don't have experience there. In the morning they had set out a typical continental breakfast - bagels, toast, cereal, juice etc. I have no complaints whatsoever. It really made our first trip the the Everglades so memorable, it was so nice to come back to the Hotel Redland after spending a long day at the park. I can't wait to come back and stay here again!

This place is wonderful. All things unique, quirky, homie, and nostalgic. With such history we really enjoyed walking around and seeing the rareness of the building. By the way Felicia at the restaurant does it all! She's truly amazing and the hotel is lucky to have her. She gave us a tour and made us feel truly special

It was…read moreeasy to get to the park visitor centers and the location was a good home base for exploring the parks. We also like how spacious the rooms are at Home2 Suites and that they include a kitchen. Free use of the laundry room and free breakfast were also convenient. The room was comfortable and spacious, but looked a little worn down. Everything was functional and fine for a two night stay. The reason I give this hotel a lower rating is because there was an unresolved issue with the room. On the day we arrived we were downgraded from the room type that we booked two months in advance without any notice or explanation. The staff at the front desk kindly apologized, but couldn't explain why it happened and said they weren't empowered to do anything about it. We were told that the manager was the only one who could do anything and she would contact us. She never did, not during our stay or after our stay. It felt unfair to not get what we reserved and then be charged the same price for the downgraded room type. Hilton customer service helped to compensate for the inconvenience when I called them a week after our stay after never hearing from the hotel manager. I've never had an issue at a Hilton hotel before that wasn't resolved right away or at least during my stay, so I know this isn't typical for a Hilton property. We will stay at a different hotel the next time we are in the area.

HILTON - As an Employer ? - Decide for yourself !…read more I am a retired military veteran after 28-years distinguished service (and, Pentagon 9-11 survivor). I need a job (close to home) to pay bills. Last week, on Tuesday, I applied to our local new Home2Suites/Tru (Florida City) by HILTON on Indeed, for their open night shift desk position. Then, on a Wednesday, I proactively visited in person and spoke to the night manager (who was working the desk due to employee shortage). I introduced myself, provided a full resume, and was told by the sales manager that they could by not see me, but would call me. A week later, still nothing. I called and spoke to the night manager I had previously met, and was told that the sales manager had decided against my application almost immediately. Obviously, I am very disappointed in HILTON. I am proven dependable, responsible, and am exceptionally qualified. So, could it be: ... my AGE?, ... veteran status ?, ... I live too close ?; or, ... HILTON'S $15. ph salary ? - YOU can decide (almost immediately)... if the HILTON brand deserves your patronage !

It is a convenient place to stay if you fly into Miami and want to drive down to the Keys the next morning. This hotel is located in Florida City, which is located on the road that you take to Key West. It is also conveniently located near Everglades National Park and Biscayne National Park. I am a Best Western Rewards member and always book this hotel through the Best Western website. They have great deals for rewards members and this hotel is very competitively priced. I received a gift bag (given to rewards members) at check in, with two bottles of water and a bag of delicious popcorn. They have a very nice pool and a complimentary breakfast with many food choices. The rooms are not fancy but they are clean and comfortable with good air conditioning (a must in Florida!). We will most likely stay here next year for our return visit to south Florida.

By the time an ac repairman came to my home two hours before the event, I was sweating a lot. Laugh all you like but in South Florida, AC isn't a luxury it's a dire necessity! So the AC repairman said that all the pipes in my AC were frozen and he showed them to me. He needed to fix it, put new freon and a bunch of other stuff. Regardless, the ac wouldn't work well again for another day. I said forget this I'm going to a hotel. TownePlace Suites by Marriott is located two blocks from my house and I called them up and booked a room. One of the great things about this hotel is that it allows pets... sure it comes with a $100 fee but I wasn't going to leave my poor cat alone at home so I took her with me. I decided to make this a little staycation so I stayed for two days that way I could enjoy the hotel. The hotel is well decorated... all parts of it from the lobby to the breakfast/meal area to the rooms. The beds were super soft, the rooms were spotless. This is an extended stay hotel so the room had a full kitchen, with a small stove, full fridge, coffee machine, toaster, and microwave. It also came with plates, glasses, utensils, etc. The room also had the largest hotel closets I have ever seen. The only thing I didn't like about the room was the bathroom was a bit smaller than most I have seen at other hotels. The hotel has an outdoor area with seating and two bbq grills for use by guests... never seen that in any hotel before. It also has a decent pool, which I certainly made use of when I stayed there. The hotel serves breakfast... nothing fancy but certainly pretty good. They offer cereal, waffels, bagels, toast, etc. They also served some eggs and breakfast sausage which was also pretty good. The hotel also has available items for purchase like most hotels do like soda, ice cream, snacks, and items for personal grooming. They also sold beer and wine which is good if your trying to unwind. What was interesting is that they also sold sauces and items from a local vegetable/fruit stand called "Robert is here", which is one of my favorite local places. If your visiting the area... drop by there it's amazing. I was certainly surprised they had items for sale from there. The best thing about this hotel was the service. The front desk staff is very friendly... and the house keeping staff were probably the best I have ever encountered at any hotel. Grisel, I think she was a supervisor for them asked if the room needed to be cleaned on the second day I was there. She explained she didn't disturb me because I posted a do not disturb sign outside my room. I explained I needed to work the first full day I was there and I had a lot of teleconferences to handle and I couldn't reschedule or have noise during those meetings. She gave me the number for house keeping and told me whenever I was free they would come to clean it and if I ever needed anything to give them a call. Wow! That's service! Wonderful stay and it's certainly an option I will keep in mind if I ever need a place to crash if for some reason my home is without ac or power again (you never know with hurricanes). Moreover if any friends or family want to stay near me I will definitely recommend them to stay here. As I left I almost didn't want to leave... sadly neither did my cat. She loved our little hotel adventure and she was sad and cried as I took her out of the hotel. Great hotel!
