Embarkation was fairly easy because most information was collected before boarding such as passport and pictures and credit card information. It was pretty much just verifying the information previously provided. The first night we tried the steak house which offers a complimentary bottle of wine only on the first night of the sailing. The cover charge is $38 per person but well worth the additional cost. You are permitted to have three appetizers, one main course and one dessert per person. We got six appetizers including the bone marrow and beef tartare, Ahi tartare, spinach salad, Caesar salad, and a couple more. We both got the giving mignon and lobster tail as our main course and we had art at the table for our dessert. The chef's table is also a fantastic experience but at almost $100 per person it is a little pricey. In my opinion is well worth the cost as it was an 11 course semi-private meal with Incredible service. There were six chefs and a wine stewardess serving only the six of us. Sparkling, red, and white wines were all unlimited pours at the dinner. Entertainment was amazing with a welcome aboard show, four completely different Production shows, Andy comedian all in a 7-night cruise. They're all so different live entertainment venues and comedians every night on the ship. I highly recommend you have dinner as early as possible so you have the entire evening to enjoy the Production shows, Comedians and live entertainment all around the ship. I haven't been on a Carnival Cruise ship for about 10 years but being a platinum member really has its perks. The best is complimentary laundry service 3 times. SHIP Once on the ship, the mustering was the fastest we've ever experienced... 1) go to your assigned station, 2) they scan your card and 3) they show you how to put on a life vest....3 mins... done! The room (1455) was small as expected for the price but the bathroom was larger than other ships of the same category room. Anwar takes good care of the room and leaves a towel animal each night. He's always friendly and takes time to talk with you when he sees you walking down the hall. For those who walk for exercise, each stateroom level (5 that run the full length of the ship) is about 800 steps where the jogging track is only 200 steps and windy! Ship arrives @ 6:30am on the last day and they work to get everyone off the ship by 9am to 9:30am if you sit there long enough for those who may have a late flight. FOOD Lido deck Grand Buffet was a little snug to get around but the food was decent (some meats and most cakes were dry though) with a limited offering in comparison to other cruises (could be due to the lower capacity due to the virus). This is where we ate all our meals except one. 3 stars Golden Restaurant is a sit down and order set up with a nice menu of appetizers, entrees and desserts which you could order any number of items in each category. We had the crab cake and clam chowder for appetizers, the filet mignon and garlic shrimp and the Carnival melting chocolate cake(?) and Grand Marnier orange soufflé. The entire dinner was very tasty and the filet mignon was excellent! I recommend ordering the filet mignon and garlic shrimp together for a nice surf and turf. 4 stars. Platinum Restaurant is a sit down but we went during their "tea time". Pick up was a short walk through the mall and up a road hill to the security gate of Mahogany Bay TIP: When you get the confirmation email from them, ask for a later time to avoid the rush and get longer time with the animals. (4 stars) Belize (masks required everywhere) - Ship does not dock to the port so you have a water shuttle to the Belize port. The water shuttle is Included in Carnival shore excursions but tickets can be purchased for non-Carnival excursions or to go just get to the port to shop. The port shops are laid out much like a mall. - Calypso Train Tour (3 stars) - very informative but Belize City is basically pretty run down except in spots where the more elite live. Lots of merchants hitting you up at the train terminal both at the start and end. If you want to just get out and around, or you want to get some history, the tour is good for that, but I didn't find it very entertaining. This was my very first Norwegian cruise, as well as my first experience in a VIP area on any cruise ship. Because of that, I can't compare The Haven to other cruise lines or even to the standard Norwegian experience. I can only share what my family and I experienced, and it was exceptional. The Haven staff didn't just provide excellent service. They created an atmosphere that made our vacation feel effortless, relaxing, and genuinely special. Our incredible butler, Madé, anticipated our needs before we even realized we had them. Godé, our room steward, kept our suite immaculate and always greeted us with warmth and kindness. In the Observation Lounge, Joshua and Mary consistently went above and beyond with their friendly personalities and outstanding service. Caesar, the concierge, is absolutely in the right profession. Dare I say he was born to do this job. His professionalism, warmth, and ability to make every guest feel important were remarkable. Carlos was another outstanding concierge who helped make our experience seamless. At The Haven Restaurant, Jennyvieve and Serona were wonderful hosts who always welcomed us with genuine smiles. Ida provided impeccable service with incredible attention to detail. Manmit, the sommelier, created a memorable wine pairing experience that my family is still talking about. The bar staff, Rodney, Elmer, Robi, Ari, and Ragesh, were consistently friendly, attentive, and made every visit enjoyable. Our dining experiences were made even more memorable by Catherine, Grace, Andrew, Tessa, Erona, and Amaresh. Every meal felt special because of their attentiveness, professionalism, and genuinely kind spirits. Outside of The Haven, we also had exceptional dining experiences at Le Bistro and Teppanyaki. The food was outstanding, but what truly elevated both restaurants was the exceptional service. Every member of the staff made us feel genuinely welcomed and cared for, reinforcing the high standard of hospitality we experienced throughout the ship. Although The Haven offers a unique experience, we also thoroughly enjoyed everything the ship had to offer. The entertainment was fantastic, the games were fun, and I especially loved the painting sessions. We also had a great time exploring the onboard shops. One of the jewelry stores hosted a daily giveaway, gifting a free charm each day, which was such a fun touch and something we looked forward to throughout the cruise. It's those little extras that make a vacation even more memorable. And I absolutely cannot end this review without mentioning the "Washy Washy" team. If you've sailed Norwegian, you know exactly who I'm talking about! Their energy, smiles, and enthusiasm welcomed us into the buffet every day, and they deserve far more recognition than they probably receive. They work incredibly hard and brought a little extra joy to everyone's day. At the end of the cruise, what I'll remember most isn't the luxury, the beautiful scenery, or even the incredible food. I paid US$22,960 for 5 staterooms to enjoy NCL's "9 Baltic Ports Cruise" on the Norwegian Sun. The…read moremost important port was Stockholm and we missed it because of "propulsion-related mechanical problems" which resulted in the ship operating at a reduced speed. Three of our group of 9 had arranged reunions with their Swedish relations in Stockholm. No compensation was offered despite me writing a detailed letter and enclosing all the appropriate and relevant documentation. Very very poor customer service which resulted in all passengers being very upset. In addition, the ship was not kept clean, the cabins were often not cleaned properly and the food was substandard and the servings in the dining room were very small, and when we asked for an additional serving to the entree, we were told "no". Would I ever travel on NCL again? NO, NO, NO. I would too hard and paid good money for shoddy accomodations, food, and an itinerary that they did not honor. And on the return cruise I learned they cancelled multiple ports and gave the same reason...to me that is fraud, as NCL knew full well that they would be eliminating more ports of call yet did the next cruise anyway. Disgusting.

The sausage gravy was some of the best I've had, rich, hearty, and loaded with flavorful sausage. Whether you're staying in Islamorada or just passing through, I highly recommend stopping by Green Turtle Inn for breakfast. It's a great way to start the day in the Keys.

The resort will not tolerate bad behaved dogs or barkers. So please don't ruin it for the rest of us that have well behaved, big dogs, get banned because others don't know how to control their own four legged children.

I was genuinely worried that once we got in the water, I wouldn't be able to do it. From the moment we arrived at Sailfish Scuba, we were welcomed like old friends. The boat ride out was enjoyable, and the entire crew--from the dive guides to the captain--was incredibly personable, knowledgeable, and reassuring. My companion has more than 50 dives under his belt, so he gave T, the owner, a heads-up that this was my first dive and that I was pretty nervous. T got in the water with me and stayed by my side throughout our descent. When I started to feel that familiar panic setting in, he calmly kept me moving down while continuously checking on me and making sure I was okay. I'm so grateful he did. If I had been left to descend on my own, I honestly think I would have surfaced several times and possibly not completed the dive at all. Having T right there gave me the confidence I needed to push through that initial fear. Once I was down, everything changed. I became much more comfortable, and by the next three dives, I was able to descend completely on my own. My companion, who is an experienced diver, said Sailfish Scuba is one of the best dive companies he has ever been with--and after my experience, I completely understand why. The professionalism, knowledge, and genuine care this crew showed made such a huge difference for me as a new diver. I went from being terrified that I wouldn't be able to do the dive to finishing it feeling excited and confident about getting back in the water. This was the second time I did one of River of Grass Adventure's boat tours. Both times, my guides…read more/ boat Captains were great. They are passionate about the Everglades, preserving it, and really love what they're doing. For about hour, we zipped and stopped around the park, through channels in between the high saw grass, over grassy flats, and within a few canals dredged many years ago. The fresh air felt great and I think maybe my blood pressure eased for a few moments. We saw wildlife, including a peregrine falcon, other birds and of course, many alligators, either resting on the grass or swimming off to do whatever it is they do. The guides I think know pretty much where to find the alligators, some of which have names. River of Grass is one of the first swamp tours west of Miami off of highway 41 past the casino. The boats take you pretty far into the Everglades where you don't see or hear any civilization, only the quiet rustle of the grass, i.e. when the engines are not powering the boat thru the glades (why can't they make a quieter engine?). The pictures I took really don't do it justice.
