There are even secret areas like IYKYK that we will visited and while no photos or videos are allowed, it became one of our favorite spots on the ship. They have refreshed the color scheme and areas such as al Bacio and the Martini bar, as well as added some restaurant spaces like Bora Bora, mosaic and craft social We have really enjoyed the new Bazaar venue, which is a redo of Eden as it has sea day programming that's unique to where you are sailing and was a lot of fun. This included light bites, crafts, music, and dance of a particular area of the Caribbean. As we had 3C days there were three different festivals celebrated during this time. We found it a pretty unique take on destination immersion. Celebrity has a strong reputation for quality food and entertainment and we were not disappointed. The main theater shows were quality productions as well as excellent headliner singers and comedians. We had a singer, Nathan James, who has performed with MANY famous bands, including Trans Siberian Orchestra- very talented ! The Retreat experience is special on this line (expensive but special) and you will have elevated service (butler, concierge etc) Don't miss the martini bar show :)

Embarkation was fairly easy because most information was collected before boarding such as passport and pictures and credit card information. It was pretty much just verifying the information previously provided. The first night we tried the steak house which offers a complimentary bottle of wine only on the first night of the sailing. The cover charge is $38 per person but well worth the additional cost. You are permitted to have three appetizers, one main course and one dessert per person. We got six appetizers including the bone marrow and beef tartare, Ahi tartare, spinach salad, Caesar salad, and a couple more. We both got the giving mignon and lobster tail as our main course and we had art at the table for our dessert. The chef's table is also a fantastic experience but at almost $100 per person it is a little pricey. In my opinion is well worth the cost as it was an 11 course semi-private meal with Incredible service. There were six chefs and a wine stewardess serving only the six of us. Sparkling, red, and white wines were all unlimited pours at the dinner. Entertainment was amazing with a welcome aboard show, four completely different Production shows, Andy comedian all in a 7-night cruise. They're all so different live entertainment venues and comedians every night on the ship. I highly recommend you have dinner as early as possible so you have the entire evening to enjoy the Production shows, Comedians and live entertainment all around the ship. I haven't been on a Carnival Cruise ship for about 10 years but being a platinum member really has its perks. The best is complimentary laundry service 3 times. Other perks include a complimentary drink at Sea Day brunch, Platinum Memorial pin, chocolate covered strawberries sent to your cabin, priority embarkation, priority disembarkation, priority tender and much more. Fantastic Cruise!

Port: 4 Ship: 3.5…read moreService: 4 Food: 3.5 Entertainment: 4 Room: 4 Ports of Call: New Orleans, Belize, Honduras, Cozumel Date: 10/24/2021 - 10/31/2021 PORT Check-in at the port had a lot of people but the line moved fast as the people managing the boarding was pretty efficient so total of about 30 mins from drop off at the port to boarding the ship. SHIP Once on the ship, the mustering was the fastest we've ever experienced... 1) go to your assigned station, 2) they scan your card and 3) they show you how to put on a life vest....3 mins... done! The room (1455) was small as expected for the price but the bathroom was larger than other ships of the same category room. Anwar takes good care of the room and leaves a towel animal each night. He's always friendly and takes time to talk with you when he sees you walking down the hall. For those who walk for exercise, each stateroom level (5 that run the full length of the ship) is about 800 steps where the jogging track is only 200 steps and windy! Ship arrives @ 6:30am on the last day and they work to get everyone off the ship by 9am to 9:30am if you sit there long enough for those who may have a late flight. FOOD Lido deck Grand Buffet was a little snug to get around but the food was decent (some meats and most cakes were dry though) with a limited offering in comparison to other cruises (could be due to the lower capacity due to the virus). This is where we ate all our meals except one. 3 stars Golden Restaurant is a sit down and order set up with a nice menu of appetizers, entrees and desserts which you could order any number of items in each category. We had the crab cake and clam chowder for appetizers, the filet mignon and garlic shrimp and the Carnival melting chocolate cake(?) and Grand Marnier orange soufflé. The entire dinner was very tasty and the filet mignon was excellent! I recommend ordering the filet mignon and garlic shrimp together for a nice surf and turf. 4 stars. Platinum Restaurant is a sit down but we went during their "tea time". The servers would walk by with various pastries and a cucumber finger sandwich and also offer the basic tea pot or for an extra charge you could order specialty teas with a pot of hot water. The pastries were all very good. 4 stars. ENTERTAINMENT We only attended the comedian shows which we found to be much better at the late (R-rated) shows than the earlier (G-rated) ones. James Johann 4 stars Funny and R rated Chris Strait 3 stars G rated show Mildly funny Kim Harrison 4.5 stars R rated show Hilarious Chris Strait 4 stars R rated show Funnier material than clean show Kim Harrison 4.5 stars G rated show Hilarious Kourtney Williams 2.5 stars R rated show Not sure if he was nervous or just new, but pretty bland PORTS OF CALL Honduras (Mahogany Bay) (masks required everywhere) - port shopping was typical with several shops very near the port and laid out nicely - we bought tickets directly from the group for an excursion to Daniel Johnson Monkey & Sloth Hangout via their website and although their communication via email was sporadic, they answered questions and provided directions to meet the driver. It was about a 1 hour tour instead of the 4 hour one from Carnival (also $30 vs $70). Pick up was a short walk through the mall and up a road hill to the security gate of Mahogany Bay TIP: When you get the confirmation email from them, ask for a later time to avoid the rush and get longer time with the animals. (4 stars) Belize (masks required everywhere) - Ship does not dock to the port so you have a water shuttle to the Belize port. The water shuttle is Included in Carnival shore excursions but tickets can be purchased for non-Carnival excursions or to go just get to the port to shop. The port shops are laid out much like a mall. - Calypso Train Tour (3 stars) - very informative but Belize City is basically pretty run down except in spots where the more elite live. Lots of merchants hitting you up at the train terminal both at the start and end. If you want to just get out and around, or you want to get some history, the tour is good for that, but I didn't find it very entertaining. Cozumel (masks required everywhere) - Port has more variety of shops than Honduras and seems larger than Belize - Cab ride to Punta Langosta $8-$10 one way - For you Starbucks fans, the one at Punta Langosta mall is closed down... another location is open maybe 1/2 mile further down the road

Norwegian Cruise Line

(1.2k reviews)

I don't even know where to start…read more I recently returned from a 10 day Alaskan cruise aboard Norwegian's *Joy*, where I had the incredible privilege of staying in The Haven. This was my very first Norwegian cruise, as well as my first experience in a VIP area on any cruise ship. Because of that, I can't compare The Haven to other cruise lines or even to the standard Norwegian experience. I can only share what my family and I experienced, and it was exceptional. The Haven staff didn't just provide excellent service. They created an atmosphere that made our vacation feel effortless, relaxing, and genuinely special. Our incredible butler, Madé, anticipated our needs before we even realized we had them. Godé, our room steward, kept our suite immaculate and always greeted us with warmth and kindness. In the Observation Lounge, Joshua and Mary consistently went above and beyond with their friendly personalities and outstanding service. Caesar, the concierge, is absolutely in the right profession. Dare I say he was born to do this job. His professionalism, warmth, and ability to make every guest feel important were remarkable. Carlos was another outstanding concierge who helped make our experience seamless. At The Haven Restaurant, Jennyvieve and Serona were wonderful hosts who always welcomed us with genuine smiles. Ida provided impeccable service with incredible attention to detail. Manmit, the sommelier, created a memorable wine pairing experience that my family is still talking about. The bar staff, Rodney, Elmer, Robi, Ari, and Ragesh, were consistently friendly, attentive, and made every visit enjoyable. Our dining experiences were made even more memorable by Catherine, Grace, Andrew, Tessa, Erona, and Amaresh. Every meal felt special because of their attentiveness, professionalism, and genuinely kind spirits. Outside of The Haven, we also had exceptional dining experiences at Le Bistro and Teppanyaki. The food was outstanding, but what truly elevated both restaurants was the exceptional service. Every member of the staff made us feel genuinely welcomed and cared for, reinforcing the high standard of hospitality we experienced throughout the ship. Although The Haven offers a unique experience, we also thoroughly enjoyed everything the ship had to offer. The entertainment was fantastic, the games were fun, and I especially loved the painting sessions. We also had a great time exploring the onboard shops. One of the jewelry stores hosted a daily giveaway, gifting a free charm each day, which was such a fun touch and something we looked forward to throughout the cruise. It's those little extras that make a vacation even more memorable. And I absolutely cannot end this review without mentioning the "Washy Washy" team. If you've sailed Norwegian, you know exactly who I'm talking about! Their energy, smiles, and enthusiasm welcomed us into the buffet every day, and they deserve far more recognition than they probably receive. They work incredibly hard and brought a little extra joy to everyone's day. At the end of the cruise, what I'll remember most isn't the luxury, the beautiful scenery, or even the incredible food. It will be the people. Every one of these crew members helped create memories my family will treasure for years to come. Thank you, Norwegian, and especially the amazing crew of *Joy*, for making our Alaskan adventure one we'll never forget.

Our family of eight just returned from a cruise on the Norwegian Getaway, and unfortunately, our…read moreexperience was extremely disappointing. Based on how this situation was handled, I would not recommend cruising with Norwegian. On embarkation day, one of our large suitcases--which contained all of my husband's clothing and many new items we had purchased specifically for the cruise--never arrived at our stateroom. We immediately reported it to Guest Services and continued following up every single day of our trip. Despite filing multiple reports, no one seemed genuinely concerned or offered a sincere apology. Instead, we were often made to feel as though the missing luggage was somehow our fault. To make matters worse, we received conflicting information throughout the cruise about what steps to take. We were told that Guest Relations would assist us once we disembarked, only to discover there was no Guest Relations office or representative available at the port. After finally reaching someone through Norwegian's customer service phone number, the experience only became more frustrating. We were told that if our luggage was eventually found, it would be shipped back to us at our expense. After Norwegian lost our luggage, expecting us to pay to have it returned is completely unacceptable. This was our family's first cruise, and instead of creating wonderful memories, we spent the entire vacation worrying about a suitcase that Norwegian lost and showed little urgency in locating. The lack of communication, accountability, empathy, and customer service was incredibly disappointing. To say we were dissatisfied is an understatement. Sadly, this was our first Norwegian cruise, and it will absolutely be our last.

I ordered The Turtle Breakfast with eggs over easy, added an extra egg, sausage, and bacon, and swapped the toast for a side of biscuits and gravy. Everything was cooked perfectly. The bacon was thick-cut, salty goodness, the sausage was packed with flavor, and the biscuits were light and fluffy. The sausage gravy was some of the best I've had, rich, hearty, and loaded with flavorful sausage. Whether you're staying in Islamorada or just passing through, I highly recommend stopping by Green Turtle Inn for breakfast. It's a great way to start the day in the Keys.

To eat we ordered the sautéed mussels and then I ordered the traditional Greek salad for my dinner and he ordered the farmhouse pasta. Overall the food was good. The potato salad in the Greek salad was random but good I enjoyed it. It also had a good portion of chicken on it. My bf liked the pasta but not the sauce (aka broth) he said it tasted like ramen with the broth and I couldn't agree more. Not the best pasta dish we've had. I will say our service was awkward. Although our bartender was friendly she seemed very drunk. She was dropping glasses, slurring and just seemed out of it -- but not THAT out of it because our ordered came out correct so there's that!

The entire team was welcoming, professional, patient, and truly cared about my success and safety. From the very first day, I felt like I was part of the family. A very special thank you to Michaela. She went above and beyond in every possible way. She helped me find a hotel, recommended great restaurants, gave me directions, answered all of my questions, and even helped me find childcare so I could focus on my training. She also personally helped care for my child during part of my three-day course, which meant the world to me. As a parent, that kind of kindness and support is something I'll never forget. Her generosity, compassion, and genuine heart made this experience so much easier and more enjoyable. My instructor, Tarek Salem, was exceptional. He is patient, calm, knowledgeable, and an excellent teacher. He explained every skill thoroughly, made sure I understood everything before each dive, and gave me the confidence I needed to succeed. I always felt safe and well taken care of. I also want to thank Elara Moultrie. She was friendly, patient, encouraging, and always focused on everyone's safety. Her positive attitude made every dive fun and helped create such a welcoming environment. This wasn't just a place to earn certifications--it was a place where people truly care about their students. I left with my Advanced Open Water and Nitrox certifications, wonderful memories, and friends I'll never forget. If you're looking for a dive center with outstanding instructors and people who genuinely care about you both in and out of the water, I highly recommend this team. They are passionate about the Everglades, preserving it, and really love what they're doing. For about hour, we zipped and stopped around the park, through channels in between the high saw grass, over grassy flats, and within a few canals dredged many years ago. The fresh air felt great and I think maybe my blood pressure eased for a few moments. We saw wildlife, including a peregrine falcon, other birds and of course, many alligators, either resting on the grass or swimming off to do whatever it is they do. The guides I think know pretty much where to find the alligators, some of which have names. River of Grass is one of the first swamp tours west of Miami off of highway 41 past the casino. The boats take you pretty far into the Everglades where you don't see or hear any civilization, only the quiet rustle of the grass, i.e. when the engines are not powering the boat thru the glades (why can't they make a quieter engine?). The pictures I took really don't do it justice.

Bonus--the bus had great AC, which we were very thankful for! When you arrive at the park, there are clean bathrooms, areas to walk around, and even a little general store for snacks, drinks, and souvenirs. Since the day was overcast with a light drizzle, we lucked out--apparently when it's too sunny, the gators dive underwater to cool off. This weather was perfect to see them out and about. Before boarding, they snap a professional photo that you can purchase later, then it's time to hop on the airboat. Our guide was a vibrant, knowledgeable young lady who clearly loved the Everglades. She knew her birds, plants, and most importantly--where to find the gators! At one point, we were surrounded by five gators swimming around us. We even spotted a vulture feeding on a deceased gator on shore--it felt like being in a National Geographic special. After the boat, the gator show begins. It's a slower pace but fascinating. The "Gator Boyz" are humane gator trappers who rescue and house these animals. Watching their interaction with the gators was both educational and thrilling. Huge respect for the work they do. The experience continues with a mini zoo featuring turtles, crocs, snakes, and monkeys. I couldn't resist snapping a photo holding a baby gator and even an albino snake! Keep in mind, the staff makes their living through tips and photo sales, so plan to tip your airboat captain, the gator show crew, and your driver. For the value of spending four hours exploring one of Florida's greatest natural wonders, it's more than reasonable. We had an unforgettable day surrounded by wildlife and the natural beauty of the Everglades. Highly recommend this tour if you want a true Florida adventure!!
