Yesterday, Beatrice (Betty) did my toenails, and I can honestly say I've never been more satisfied. Both of my big toenails were damaged, and she carefully repaired and reshaped them. The result looks incredibly natural, and I absolutely love them. I grew up in California and now live in Germany, and I honestly can't remember the last time someone paid this much attention to detail. You can tell she truly cares about her work. The receptionist (or technician) was on the phone and made no effort to greet or check me in. It felt uncomfortable enough that I left and waited at a nearby café for nearly an hour instead of sitting in the lobby. The pedicure itself lasted about 25-30 minutes and felt rushed. The tech was extremely young and inexperienced. There was no proper nail cleaning, no cuticle work, and no attention to detail. I still had visible black polish residue from my previous pedicure when I left. For $50, I expected significantly more care and thoroughness. When I chose my color, it clearly needed another coat for full coverage. Instead of addressing it, I was told that "next time" I should ask for full coverage. The service was completed at 5:35 PM, and they close at 7 PM, yet everything felt rushed as if they were trying to get out the door. The space is aesthetically pleasing and has beautiful chairs, but unfortunately the chairs don't recline and the overall service did not match the presentation. Social media presence and follower count don't always reflect service quality. Overall, it felt like a waste of money and not an experience I would repeat. Especially after taking an extremely expensive uber to get there.

I wanted to soak my hands in water because I have dry cuticles that hurt when cut. NO, I do not want the chemical, cream or anything you put on them to soften and cut. I wanted to soak in water. DO IT! No questions asked,no telling me why or what I need done. Especially when I have politely listened and then told you that I understand but still want to soak my hands and do it my way. It took for the nice lady to take over the conversation and agree to what I was asking as her male colleague kept arguing. I have been getting them done this way for 30 years. Do not try and tell me better. Also, when I tell you I don't want chemicals and I do not like the sun lights to dry my nails. Don't tell me you know better and that it is harmless. Next appointment I'm getting glow in the dark polish! The salon is very clean and there are TV's to entertain you. They do not double book or overbook- if you have to wait for your appointment it either means the person before you was either late or asked for something extra ( like an extra detailed design). Also, and most important is I do not have acrylic nails and I only go every 4 weeks!! Talk about a money saver.

But yesterday it was "official". My buddy's wife made the appointment for me with Diane. The minute I walked in the place every woman's head swiveled in my direction with that Egad , it's a MAN entering a Woman's world look on their face. Suddenly I realized that I WAS the only man in the joint. Suddenly , everyone is giggling and speaking in Chinese. Hmmm talking about me maybe ‍. So , Diane motions me over to her chair and told me to sit down. I do as I'm told. Placing my bare feet into a caldron of HOT water. Silly me , I expected WARM water, not HOT. Too late. Diane seized control of my feet which now are in her hands. Next thing I know the chair I'm sitting in starts punching me in my back. What ?! Oh ! It's called a massage. A massage while having my feet attended to , how nice. Well I must say , Diane did a very thorough job and left my pampered feet cleaned and refreshed with nails trimmed and filed down. She included an Olive Oil treatment of my lower legs and removed calloused skin from the bottom of my feet. Diane did a tremendous job treating my feet and as I left I felt as if I was walking on a cloud. Why , I was so pampered I almost felt like a girl . Diane ordered me back in 6 weeks to maintain a health care regimen of my feet. So , I guess that means ... I'll be back. Oh yeah , and free parking in a private lot. Always a plus in my book.
