A bit sketchy looking outside, bit super clean and well kept inside. Authentic menu (lengue, caldo de res,) and some TexMex for the American crowd. Good first impression. Stale chips, fiery hot green salsa, bland red salsa (tomato soup), decent guacamole (although it looked like it was getting a little brown on the outside - pre-scooped?). Ordered shrimp tacos on corn tortillas with cilantro and onions. Shrimp were grilled perfectly. Loaded with cilantro and onions. I'm sure the corn tortillas would have been good, but the flour tortillas I received were good, too. Not super thick like most places - nice and thin and light. Music on the speakers and the TV volume loud enough to hear the soccer game was a bit distracting - just a bit. Overall a good experience. I'd come back occasionally if I lived close by. read more

Chose this place by looking at yelp and its reviews. 1st time here and at first a little shady the front door had plywood on it, not sure if they had it broken recently or if it's been like that for a while, place definitely needs an update the outside could use a lift and the inside as well everything looks old, tables and chairs even baby high chair back rest was loose and falling off. The service was ok not excellent, basically just there to bring you what you need and that's it. Good was good only reason it got a 3 out of 5 I had the cheese steak burrito, my wife had the green enchiladas, they were great also I tried a piece. It was not too busy, but place could use better light it looked gloomy or not sure if it's just the wear and tear. Tried this place on a whim when we happened to be in the area. I ordered a shrimp torta and chips and salsa. I loved the texture of the chips. They were the perfect amount of thickness. The torta was a slight disappointment. It was made on a hamburger bun instead of the thick roll I'm used to seeing, and the difference was evident. The bread became soggy and I ended up eating the toppings out of the sandwich which defeats the purpose. Everyone else enjoyed their food but I didn't try anything else so I can't comment. read more

Love coming here to eat menudo on Sundays. They have fresh tortillas and the sweet tea was the perfect blend of tea to sugar ratio. Slow service but I can deal with that to enjoy the food on a slow and relaxing Sunday morning. I will be back. read more

Walked into this place expecting a so-so mexican meal, cuz there wasn't really much else in the area that caught our eye. The ambiance is typical of a mexican place of this caliber. However the food was not, it was several levels higher. The spicy fish dish that I had & the chicken dish that my wife ordered we devoured in short order. If not for the fact that the good sized portions had us stuffed, we would've loved to sample more from the menu. I came in on a Saturday night and ordered the Carne Asada. The food is inexpensive for decent sized portions. They are open until midnight on Friday's- Saturdays and they have karaoke . The meal was alright. The meat was a little over cooked but overall it wasn't bad. I look forward to trying something else when I I return. Nothing is worse than being disappointed when spending money on food... first off my order was made wrong. The guy did tell me they were out of the ham I ordered but only AFTER I drove 20 mins to get there. He didn't get a callback number or even my name when I placed the order, so he had no way of calling back to tell me once he found out... I decided to take the order anyways, knowing I wouldn't eat the steak they put in there since I'm not a big red meat person, only because I REALLY wanted the eggs. Then I drive all the way back home to also find out they didn't put the bacon with my meal either. This was a BREAKFAST meal and the 2 breakfast meats I wanted, I didn't get. The potatoes were COMPLETELY different than what is pictured on their menu on Yelp. I attached the picture as well as mine so you can see everything. The yelp picture clearly has small FRIED potatoes. Mine had steamed potatoes in tomato sauce, and to add to it there were literally FIVE... last but certainly not least, because these were the entire reason I wanted this meal, the eggs were absolutely NOT real ranchero eggs. In the picture on yelp they look EXACTLY like the ones I had in Mexico back in February and that's the entire reason I drove all the way over there just to grab breakfast. Mine literally had red sauce (tasted like chip dip) poured on top of them. I also asked the guy taking the order to have them cooked between over hard and over medium. He put over medium on the order, which would have been okay if that's what they would have been... but as you can tell in the photos, they were definitely cooked over easy. The yolk was completely runny... I ended up throwing the whole plate away minus the one bite I took from the eggs and trying a potato. So sad! Maybe if the guy would have gave me some sort of discount from the beginning when he could tell I didn't want the steak they had substituted for my ham but didn't want to give empty handed after drive out there just specifically for that, I wouldn't have been SO disappointed. But paying almost $10 for a meal that you don't even like enough to not throw away is terrible. Hope this helps someone else avoid the same situation! read more

The good: Amazing food. I had the tacos with marinated pork. Absolutely fantastic and everything else that came out looked and smelled incredible. The bad: Service was very slow. It took quite a while for food to come out and when it did they brought my buddies food out but not mine for another ten minutes...very frustrated at the time. Also the bathroom was not very clean.
