Asides from poor service and charging extra for minor side changes, the food quality was very poor. Over spiced and stale, rubbery chicken and beef. The salad even had stale, soggy veggies. I come here all the time late night but for some reason I got horrible service. I ordered a chicken shawarma roll up falafel roll up and grape leaves and a water . They charged me for it but instead the server gave us a lamb roll up and chicken roll up then proceeded to lock the doors on our faces. Never fucking going here again. read more

Five years later I decided to stop by Falafel Corner for a quick bite to eat to see if it's changed and yeezus! Not only is it more expensive but the wraps are soooo small. I ordered a mixed shwarma roll up and it was close to $10! There was one thin shaving of chicken, one thin shaving of lamb, lettuce, tomato, pickles, and onions with tahini sauce that was so thin and diluted. Take your money to Chipotle or anywhere else because this will not fill you up and other places will probably have 100x the flavors these cooked meats have. I'm a petite girl and I was still hungry after the wrap. Anything extra on their menu, including tahini sauce, costs $1 or more. read more

Small hole in the wall in Harvard Square, which we were so thankful was open during Christmas Eve after we went to mass. The place is tiny, a staircase up to order food and a staircase down to an even smaller eating area. There were certain items on the menu that required a 30 minute wait, so we just went with lamb gyro wrap and falafel wraps to go! The staff behind the counter was so kind and even gave our little girl a piece of falafel and wished us all a Merry Christmas. We took the food back to our hotel and enjoyed every savory bite of it. It's very rare that we get authentic food like this, so we felt very fortunate that this was our Christmas Eve meal. Even though there weren't too many places open during that time, we were glad that we got to indulge in their specialties! read more

I have never been treated as rudely as the delivery driver from this place. That is until the dude from the restaurant called to yell at me some more. Five times more in fact. All this because I was accused of not tipping which in fact I did. Also, my falafel wrap was filled with meat and two Oranginas ended up being one. That apparently was my fault as well and I paid for it. My bad for trusting Eat24 and not looking to Yelp first. Eff this place. I don't even want my money back, they can keep it as long as they never contact me again. ** Make that six calls now. Okay this place is awesome and apparently blizzard proof. I was stuck in Harvard Square during the blizzard and they were the only restaurant that was open. The owner greeted me kindly and we joked about being crazy enough to be walking around in this kind of weather. As for the food, it was good. Sure it won't be the best falafel or middle eastern food you've ever had, but the food comes out quick, the prices are reasonable, and overall it's worth a stop. I had the falafel wrap which was really good. The hummus, hot sauce, and pickle really make for a solid wrap. I also got the mixed shwarma plate which was okay but the meat was a bit dried out. I'd recommend the wraps over the plates. TL;DR Nice owner who's willing to face down a blizzard to serve pretty yummy food. read more

So it appears this place is under new management. I saw some folks who used to work at Moody's in Central Square working the grill. Have no fear...the food is still delicious! I paid a visit two nights in a row and both times couldn't stop at one sandwich (yikes!). Their lamb shawarma is so good...and their fries are pretty awesome too. If you like spicy stuff, ask for hot sauce on the side (they have Egyptian shata). You won't be disappointed. Hopefully (for my sake) I will resist three nights in a row, but it won't be easy! read more

Well, everyone complains that there isn't enough late night food in Cambridge, but you gotta give Falafel Corner a star for being not only open until midnight on Sundays, but also until 3am other nights! That is just nuts. And the food is pretty cheap too, which I'm sure makes you feel like a winner if you come here after a night of drinking! But coming here sober, you definitely have a different lens on :-) We had a groupon to use for here, and both Matt J. and I ate for about $17 (not including any drinks). So not too bad for two people. For a place named after falafel, however, I was pretty sad about how dry and overcooked their falafel was here. We doused it in some of the semi watery tahini sauce and the actually pretty spicy (loved it!) sauce, and it still seemed a little blah for us. But their lamb shawarma for $8 for the plate that came with some rice that I don't know what they put in it, but it tasted so good! Maybe that was just in comparison to the dry falafel? I don't know, but that rice was good. So you got the lamb, the rice, and then a cucumber and tomato salad and it was pretty filling. Oh and of course you get some pita also to aid you in your eating fest. So ya falafel corner, I'm sure people don't mind your falfafel at night when they are drunk, but if you want to make your sober customers happy too, I would make the falafel better, or for you consumers out there, just skip the falafel and go straight for the shawarma! read more

Simply awful. The delivery took over an hour and a half, the falafel was soggy on the outside from the wilty, warm cucumber salad (ick) and dry on the inside, AND they forgot the tahini sauce. To add insult to injury I nearly cracked my tooth on two different falafel due to foreign falafel-colored rock-solid fragments of evil ( I have no idea what I bit down on but it hurt). There is nothing about this place that makes me want to come back. I stopped in one day with a friend to get a quick meal. I generally love falafel wraps. The wrap I received was lackluster and the falafel was very dry. Service was unfriendly and almost sort of rude. I've had far better falafel in Central Square. There's also no restroom! And no promise of a restroom in a sister restaurant. The eating space downstairs was messy and dirty (although that's to be expected in a shack like this so I wouldn't dock them too much for that). I didn't give this place one star because I didn't try the fries or any of the other options which other reviewers rave about. If someone dragged me here I would give it a shot, but otherwise will not come back on my own. There are way too many other great spots in Harvard Square to come back to this place. read more

At this instant, anything with grease, meat, and plenty of sauces will absolutely do the trick. It's as if the Falafel Corner knew we were coming as it lit up brightly with that neon pink OPEN sign bordered by neon dark blue. Everyone who has seen that at 2am after a night of drinking knows what I'm talking about. the three of us shared 2 lamb falafels......bite bite pass......and don't mess up the rotation. I had the lamb shawarma. The lamb itself was good, (somewhat dry, but delicious) especially with tahini. The pita was just standard, processed pita. It was not very fresh, was quite dry, and tasted plain. I still like this kind of pita a bit, anyway. The salad was a little worse than usual, though I don't tend to like this style of salad anyway. The rice was hard, and did not taste very good. It tasted on the alright side of bad, nonetheless. My main complaint is that I stated that I had a dairy allergy, and got sick anyway. Horrible food and horrible service; never going back here again (save your money and do not go here either). Ordered delivery for dinner here; got the falafel appetizer; falafel roll up; mix shawarma plate; and an order of the baklava. They said it would take 45 to an hour for delivery, got there in 40 mins, sweet! Came in a skimpy bag and had sauce leaked all over the bottom of it. Began to open up the bag, everything was in there but a fork to eat my shawarma plate; in which I called them back and they said they were going to send one. My friend and I began to start eating the falafel balls which were cold and subpar; my friend then started to eat her falafel roll up and ended up finishing it for the sole purpose that she needed something in her stomach because we were studying for exams and said it was not good at all; I couldn't wait to eat so I began picking at the meat, slowly finishing the meat in my meal, the lamb and chicken were old and cold...seriously. So far, not happy at all with the food, decided to just eat the baklava which was the only good item in the order. 45-50 mins roll by and no fork, called them back and said I haven't received the fork yet, he responded that he forgot to tell the delivery driver. I then said that it is not okay seeing that I ordered delivery and had no fork to eat my shawarma plate with; he then asked me if I have asked for a fork when I ordered, and I said no, I shouldn't have to ask for a fork on a delivery order (I've been a delivery driver). He then began to argue with me on how I didn't ask for a fork and that it is my problem; at this point I was so frustrated that I said "forget it, I don't need the fork, the food at this point is colder then when I got it and it's not even worth it to eat it anymore" in which after he just hung up. They really take care with the ingredients and serve up some great, simple Middle Eastern food fast. I live in Harvard Square, and it won't matter to me if they drive everybody else in the Square out of business. From now on, I'm only eating at Falafel Corner. It's that good. They are open late (really late, on week-ends) so if you want to take advantage of Charlie's Beer Garden next door, you can drink there. Then, when you are hungry (the food at Charlie's ain't so hot) you can walk to steps to the Falafel Corner and pig out on really delicious shawarma and then return to drinking next door. I used to think that Harvard Square was dying, that only the Brattle Theatre and Algiers would be left for me. But now there are some green shoots--namely, Falafel Corner! The falafel is great. The lamb shwarma is great. The fries are good. The hummus is velvety. My partner and me cleaned our plates. That being said, I had to microwave everything once it was delivered to me. Everything that was supposed to be warm was cold. The delivery here is horrible. The order came 45 minutes late and I live no more than 6-7 minutes away driving. The delivery dude called me 15 minutes after the delivery time saying he was 5 minutes away. Mmk. 30 minutes later he calls me that he's downstairs. Mmk. I go downstairs and no one is there. I see a car approaching slowly and stops in front of the house next to mine. I'm on the porch and I assume it's delivery. I start walking towards the car practically with arms wide open in my pajamas ready to receive my food. Oops, it's just someone dropping off the neighbor next door. I start acting like nothing awkward just happened when I see a guy on foot halfway down the block yelling "falafel?!". I don't know if the guy walked here or not, but if he did it's a legit 20 minute walk. I got the food. The bag of fries was drenched either in steam or grease or both. Everything else was cold. I'd probably recommend this place if you're in for take-out and such, but not for delivery. P.S. The tahini sauce container dripped in the plastic bag so I had to slowly take out all the food without getting dirty. This is my go-to lunch choice in Harvard Square. Their roll-up menu is killer. Already a cheap option, their recent deal of discounting a different roll-up every week makes this not only the best deal in the Sqaure but also a good opportunity to try something new. Anything from Falafel, tabouli, hummus, foul, etc., if your appetite lines up with their special, you're eating plenty of food for under $4. The guys behind the counter are always gracious and smiling. Only once the lamb schwarma was a little over-cooked. Falafel Corner is, in short, hit-or-miss. I've had fantastic falafel and baba ganoush wraps here, and I've had really bad ones. Sometimes the falafel wraps are moist and delicious and bursting with flavor. Sometimes they are dry and hard to choke down, and other times they are completely overwhelmed by the pickles. It really seems to depend on how the person assembling your wrap decides to do it. Also, if you really want a spinach pie, then these are good enough, but don't expect to be blown away. They're nothing special, assuming they haven't completely run out. It's also a little awkward ordering and waiting for your food. There is a set of stairs right behind the door that you have to walk up to get to the postage stamp-sized floor space in front of the counter. In general, it's not expensive, it doesn't take too long, and sometimes it's delicious. For a quick, tasty, low cost meal, I'll definitely come here again and again, but if I have the time and the money, I'll always be able to do better in this area. read more

Due to medically-necessary dietary restrictions, I'm sort of a picky eater. Namely, I don't eat any grains (rice, wheat, bulgar), any starchy veggies, or any dairy. It's an insulin thing. So grabbing a fast meal is difficult. I can customize my food with salad and food bars, but those are expensive and not good quality. So in Harvard Square, I was thrilled to discover Falafel Corner. I ordered a Chicken Shawarma plate -- hold the rice and bread. The nice man behind the counter offered to give me more salad. I was expecting iceberg lettuce, but.. wow! What a great salad! Crispy cucumbers, sweet tomatoes, a touch of parsley and red onion with a mild vinegar dressing... and it was huge. All for $6.50. Pretty sweet deal for Harvard Square. Bottom Line: Cheap, tasty, healthy, and great service. read more

Are falafels the loneliest food? You would think not, given that the majority of its letters are in pairs, leaving by sheer coincidence, S. and E. At the time of this review, E. and I have only known each other for three weeks, so I don't (mustn't) put too much importance to it. But in fact, it was E. who had induced my falafel craving. She had suggested a vegan bowl recipe whose edibility hinged upon the tahini sauce. In a perhaps too transparent attempt to engender conversation, I took on the recipe and in the process became the proud owner of a tub of tahini from Whole Foods. Everyday, I see the tub as I open the refrigerator and it reminds me of falafels. The falafel craving overcame me as I was walking to a sadcore concert at the Sinclair--which by the way E. had declined to come because of the season premier of some trendy show. Though the other options tempted me, I stayed true to my word and ordered a falafel wrap, only to realize after the fact that I did not meet the minimum $10 credit card charge. However, the employee ok'ed me after I added an Aranciata (Alas! E. is also a fan of Vampire Weekend.) from the fridge. When asked here or to go, I answered 'here' driven by my guilt; I wanted to give them the appearance of appreciation. But when I walked to the downstairs portion to grab a table, I saw no one there. Imagine a world where lunch costs $3.20. A yummy, well-balanced lunch. Are you with me? They've got wraps and plates galore, all delicious, but if the summer heat has you craving something fresh and not enormous for lunch, get the falafel side order. Two falafel balls on a bed of "cairo salad" - a mixed salad with greens, cukes, feta, tomatoes, and then a side of pita bread and tahini sauce. It's a great snack and for the petite or waistband-conscious around here (when I look in the mirror, do I want to see that Charlie's Kitchen double cheeseburger staring back at me?), it's a fantastically fulfilling lunch. Their veggie platter is better-sized for the hungrier around, and their Baba Ghanouj is amazing. The hours can't be beat, even for insomniac college kids. The one star down is only because the falafel balls are a little on the dry side, so I usually need to add baba ghanouj to my roll-up for an extra dollar and an infusion of tangy deliciousness. A great restaurant for Middle Eastern delivery! I was a bit unsettled by the reviews (some good, many bad) for the delivery. We were in Cambridge and we ordered Falafel, Hoummus, and the Chicken Schwarma Roll-up. It did take about 80 minutes to arrive which is why I gave 4 stars rather than 5. However, the order was perfect: well-packaged, good portions, delicious food. Most importantly, the falafels were crispy and the Schwarma was still toasty. I hate to complain about restaurants I order from past 10pm, but this was just an amazing example of disorder and rudeness. My order was delivered 30minutes past the Foodler confirmation time - I had to let the phone ring for over 10minutes (I wish I weren't joking) to even get someone to answer - and when they finally did I was yelled at and told the driver was 2 minutes away? He of course wasn't, and I didn't receive my cold food till 24minutes after the horrendous phone call. If you are masochistic and enjoy recooking your food, this is the place for you. read more

I really wanted to try shawarma so we ended up deciding to order form this place for delivery. It was two hours late and the driver's excuse was that tried calling me a couple times. Unfortunately, my phone was out of commission so I couldn't receive any calls. This would be mostly my own fault EXCEPT for the fact that when we ordered we wrote to ring the bottom doorbell specifically. When DID get our food, the driver didn't even come to our door. He was parked a block away! That just doesn't seem like the norm. Is that kind of service we SHOULD be expecting from every delivery place? The food was underwhelming. The falafel wrap was okay and the shawarma was okay. The wrap on mine was really dry and a little bit stale but I ate it anyway because I was hungry. I think it says something when we two hungry people end up thinking something is "okay" on an empty stomach, haha. We also got the bird's best to share as a dessert and I've had better nut and phyllo dough combinations in my lifetime. Dare I say I am one of the few who enjoy this place. I got the gumption to order something different for a change instead of my usual Riverside or Pu Pu. So I decide I want middle eastern food, but where the hell can I find that in Cambridge? I wasn't exactly ready to try Moody's yet and I was to lazy to go to Sepal so I decided to go on eat 24 and order from Falafel Corner despite so discouraging reviews and the apprehension of trying a new restaurant. I ordered and got my food fairly quickly (Harvard square to central square) and opened the bag to find what I thought where small containers that wouldn't satisfy mine nor my bf's appetite. HOW VERY WRONG WAS I ABOUT THAT! I ordered the lamb schwarma roll-up which was so delicious and was very filling. I also ordered the Baba Ghanoush, which was surprisingly addictive. The tabouli which is very fresh and by far better than packages tabouli, and stuffed grape leaves which were awesome and even came with a side salad which was delicious! My bf had the Falafel plate and it was very flavorful as well. The thing about food like this is that it's all about the food's flavors not overpowering each other and blending together which I believe they hit head on! Overall I'm loving the place and it's very healthy and affordable. This place has made my illustrious delivery list! read more

I thought we ordered from here before and the food was fantastic but I think I'm wrong. First, we placed our order through Foodler. We ordered a lamb and chicken plate. They called to tell me they ran out of Lamb. I said it was okay to substitute chicken but made sure to ask if I would be refunded the $2.00 price difference. They said yes. I WAS NOT. Second, the tabouli was not fresh. It was clearly 1-2 days old. The tomatoes were soggy and sour tasting. There was a clear difference between the tomatoes in the tabouli and the fresh tomatos in the tomato and cucumber salad. I called and they claimed it was all made that day. Not true and I offered that they could come pick it up to look at it themselves. Third, the onions in the chicken plate were burnt. Some of the chicken was charred but all of it was extremely dry. Fourth, the falafel was dry and extremely dense. When I called for a refund on the Tabouli. I was willing to deal with the chicken and the falafel. I was told that drivers were from Foodler so I would have to go through Foodler for a refund and they would confirm it. When I asked Foodler they responded with the following: "At Foodler.com, we take care to confirm your order immediately after you place it online. If the restaurant confirms all of the delivery details with us, then we send you the confirmation email. Unfortunately, the rest of the process (delivery service, quality of food, etc.) is out of our hands. Regardless, I apologize." Now that I have confirmed with Foodler that that it's the restaurant's responsibility, I will follow up with them. I thought everyone should be aware of their unethical behavior. read more

So I probably shouldn't have entered Falafel Corner in Harvard Square two hours and a half before closing nor compare it to the food I had in Morocco. Either way, is it such a wrong thing to ask for made to order fresh food? I went there on a Sunday night like I said 2.5hrs before closing. I don't know if it was because of that or another factor (i.e. running out of rice), but I was upset that their rice wasn't cooked well. I ordered the Chicken Falafel Plate, and the rice was mostly hard and crunchy. The chicken was dry and barely had any flavor, but the salad, tomato, cucumber mix was AWESOME! This was the freshest of the three; the cucumbers and tomatoes were fresh and crisp, all sitting on a small bed of shredded (iceberg) lettuce. It cost me about $7.50 for the whole thing, and it comes with 3 or so thin pita triangles. For the price of the entire package, it's a favorable deal however I just wasn't expecting the rice to be so darn crunchy. My friend also purchased an order of grape leaves, which were so good! I like how there was a nice hint of spice to them, just can't put my finger as to what that spice was as of yet... An order of grape leaves has 4 of them all on top of a cucumber/tomato/shredded lettuce bed. Overall the guys I met there were nice. They made conversation with me as they were putting together our dinner plates. I'm willing to give the place another shot, just hoping that the rice isn't crunchy the next time.
