Ordered through uber eats on a cold Sunday night - and pleasantly surprised with the food - both quality and quantity! The combo kebab platter was very good - juicy kebabs, balanced flavors, and very fresh salad to go with it. I also got a chicken soup (not pictured) that came with bread - very hearty and warming on a cold evening. The rice pudding came as a complimentary item and was delicious - not too sweet, with a puddingy jello-like flavor. The only thing I could have used was some sort of sauce for the kebabs (a chutney or something). I've had the lahmacun before and it's also very good and flavorful. The pizza boat the pizza boat! Everytime we think about Turkish food we run to Lazuri cafe! Its been awhile since we have been back and we were pleasantly surprised that they have expanded their restaurant and now have a new bakery which is an extension of their original restaurant! The bakery items looked amazing and so good! We definitely need to come back and check them out! They have a variety of yummy items on their menu and it's always hard to decide because everything we have tried had always been so good! This time I went with their flatbreads that are shaped like boats! How fun! And my boyfriend decided to share a spinach and cheese stuffed bread. The waitress was very nice and attentive and the service was fast even though the restaurant was packed for dinner on a Sunday night. It was a nice night so we decided to dine in their new outdoor seating area which they didn't have before the last time we were here. Ordered take out so I can't speak to the service or ambiance. But my pick up experience went very smoothly and the staff is very nice! I got the food around 10 pm on a Friday night and it was bustling in the restaurant. The food was phenomenal. We got the grilled sea bass and a lahmacun. Parking can be a hassle...we ended up parking at a Stop & Shop garage and walking over. I'd recommend maybe taking public transport here. The space is absolutely beautiful and stunning. It's really pretty and recently renovated. We were actually seated in the neighboring bakery because our party was large. We got some mixed platters for the table and everything was phenomenal. There was chicken breast, chicken thigh, doner kebabs, kofte kebabs, grilled veggies and more. The knafeh was great as well, it's more on the syrup-ey side. Ordered takeout from Turkish Lazaro Cafe because we were craving eggplant and our expectations were definitely exceeded. The Turkish Aubergine (Soslu Patlican) was refreshing and nicely seasoned. The bread that it came with was sooo fluffy inside but crispy on the outside. Probably some of the best bread we've had in the city. The sea bass (levrek) was super reasonably priced as it also came with a large side salad and pita bread. However, it was slightly overcooked and a bit dry by the time our order was delivered. New year and tried a new restaurant in the very first week! Actually it's sort of a new year resolution of mine for this year to try at least 1 new restaurant every week or at least every other week! I realized that I have so many go to restaurants and find myself re-reviewing the same ones over and over! Need to branch out and discover new places - as an elite yelper, I think that's a good goal to have!! Anyway - we had seen or passed by this restaurant many many times in the Allston area and had always wanted to try it! And last night we decided to order from here as didn't feel like venturing outside in the cold. Food came in a timely manner. Everything was really good. Hubs ordered the mixed meat gyro in lavash bread - he liked it although it wasn't as he had expected because it definitely had a lot of meat but little veggies, and more sour and pickley- tasty but different. I ordered the chicken kebab bowl - chicken kebabs were delicious and tender. Came with 2 types of rice - white and yellow, also came with salad, grilled tomato and yogurt sauce. Really good and hearty. The zucchini fritters were more like pancakes actually- quite tasty, soft and mild came with yogurt sauce. The eggplant appetizer was really tasty - sweet and sour, well cooked. It came cold - chilled, I would really prefer it warm or even room temperature but very tasty. The 2 fresh flatbreads that came with 2 of the dishes were great- really fresh and soft tasty. Overall a yummy meal was had along with leftovers for another meal or two! read more

I loved the falafel wrap I got fries that were delicious as well for only a $1 more. The staff is very nice. The place was clean and originated. Found street parking even with some spots being taken from the snow storm a week ago. My friend got the mixed kofte kebab and said it was also delicious. Fabulous!!!! Our lunch was delicious. The lamb soup was as good as it was in Istanbul. We had a variety platter, grapes leaves, salad and Adana wrap. Everything was so good. I don't usually pick this type of cuisine when I dine out, but I really enjoyed my meal. The dolmas were pricy for what you get, but they tasted as good as homemade ones in my opinion. This place is quite delicious! I only got the classic Turkish coffee and the Içli Kofte - it's a stuffed meatball. I'd have given 5 stars if the coffee would've come with the classic square of Turkish delight, tho it came with dark chocolate (delicious but not quite the same). The Içli Kofte was really good as an appetizer and the size and quality of them were good. I mean I definitely wouldn't mind them bigger but it's just my preference. First off, the gentleman taking the order thought he had photographic memory, he did not take down the order and brought out 2 wrong dishes, forgot a side and had to be reminded multiple times about basic dine in stuff like cutlery and napkins. We also tried a few new dishes and they weren't as good. The falafel was as good as I remember. We also tried the stuffed eggplant (cold appetizer), it was such an underwhelming dish, barely any flavor. I would pass this one for sure! The spinach pie was okay, nothing to write home about. Twice we have made large catering orders (for 30+) and twice the restaurant has failed to deliver all of the food we ordered. The first time, the driver had left items in his car and came back after we called and complained - but the second time the manager yelled at us and said they had delivered all the items. They have easily become one of my favorite restaurants in and around Boston as they are the right combination of what is important to me - or to anyone else obsessed with food, culture, and execution. I had stumbled upon this establishment during my initial visit to Boston prior to the upcoming move and they immediately made it to my permanent-list of forever-patronage. I cannot say it was perfect BUT it was more than good enough to warrant several more (and eventually endless) visits since for both their delightful food and genuinely warm reception. The owners were still always around when this whole thing started and they exhibited great pride in making everyone feel at home - something I completely respect. Unlike many places I have reviewed in the past, this review is part of the small group of restaurants that I'm only finally writing about after extensively dining here. I can't explain this particular pattern properly but think of it as one's denial that it is even possible to be so amazed to this extent. I started with their gargantuan special that provided leftovers for another day (and still tasted so good with a little nuke time). I slowly but surely went through most of their main menu and was absolutely pleased with each one. The great quality and taste remained constant. They were preparing and dishing each one right. How is this all possible? How can this place just be that good? First proven observance, owners are great, know their food, and have standards. Second observance, owners not around for the latter part of my journey, certain slacks take place BUT nothing major. I just was able to notice it immediately. Another theory, just throwing it out there, they just hired really amazing kitchen staff - which is definitely going to be true in this case anyways with the food quality - but that also means there has been great management. I blab. I do so when I really have fallen in love with a restaurant that I patronage as often as my schedule allows me. But I blab. So here it is: If you crave Mediterranean food and know it, you'll respect the Turkish aspect they provide. If you crave Mediterranean food and DON'T know it, you'll respect the flavors and touch provided here. If you crave DON'T crave Mediterranean food, know or don't know it, you may get influenced here by finding the right dish for you here. There is a great range of flavors and texture and I thought it crazy that one of their soups hits home like Mike Tyson at his prime. I love this place. I seriously LOVE this place. Inside is very nice, server was nice but too busy, and lots of options on the menu for everyone. The value for food is a bit lower though as the dishes are expensive. Giving 4 stars because it gets too crowded without good A/C when we visited; was very hot and stuffy inside and because it was so crowded there was not much service to the table.
