It's nice to have a library close to home. They offer many programs for kids, including story time. They having plenty of seating options and computers as well. The children's section is located off to corner. Plenty of books available and a small section for entertainment and 3 computer stations with learning games. What is nice is that they have a restroom in this spot so you don't have to run across the library in case of a child's bathroom needs. They have a couple of event rooms, occasionally used by the Red Cross for scheduled Blood Donation. Restrooms are conveniently located across the event rooms. The restroom is very clean and spacious. The staff is friendly and very helpful. The only downfall is the parking. The upper level of the parking lot is very tight even for smaller vehicles. There is overflow parking at the lower level, and some street parking. I'll keep visiting this convenient library. read more

Took a little road trip to get a pint of blood drawn for donation. This is one location you can find the Red Cross at. You need to make an account and schedule an appointment. They only do walk-ins if it's a slow day. I was pleasantly surprised by the aesthetics and architecture of this beautiful library. Before my scheduled appointment slot I roamed around inside to check it out. I chuckled when I saw the avocado lounge seating area~~since Fallbrook is known for the Avocado Festival. They have cool, glass divided, private study rooms that you can reserve. As usual it was a quiet space. It wasn't too busy. Everyone seemed nice and the place was clean & tidy. I'd come here to donate again. read more

If you're looking for children's books, you may have better luck somewhere else. We were searching for dinosaur books, amongst others and came up short. We were told there are a lot of homeschool kids in the area who check out a ton of books all at once and that we could search for books we wanted to put a hold on them or order them from other libraries. Not the experience I was going for to inspire excitement in reading. And unfortunate that homeschool kids get to wipe out the children's books for everyone else. Sad to say we will be driving a long distance to other branches because of this, which means less time in the library, more money spent. I hope the policy gets reviewed so this is a more equal place for all. read more

Reading is Fun-damental. Where else can you have access to unlimited information for free!? This library is clean, comfortable and never too crowded. Parking is easy and the staff are super friendly. Once in a while I'll come in here to clear my mind from the stresses of work and life. They also have a great selection on periodicals. I'll be back for sure. read more

This is a really great library, one of the better ones in the San Diego County library system. I've been here many times over the course of several years, and it has always impressed me. The employees are nice and friendly, and I appreciate how many community events and programs are held and publicized here. It's a great community resource that serves a wide variety of people and groups. It's also really clean and kept up nicely! read more

What is a wonderful library. Clean bathrooms really kind people and super quiet they use the stores pretty cool too. But I would have to say by far the coolest day about this library is the living room that they have on top of the building it's quite literally a with plants, what a wonderful way to use the roof space to create more oxygen for air qualityand life, love this library!!! The ideal sustainable library, if only others would take on the architectural wonder that this library has manifested. This is a fantastic small library with knowledgeable staff, an excellent schedule of free events for seniors, children, and any adult, and a variety of spaces for reading or working. They have free fitness classes, lovely musical concerts, and much more. The used book sale component is also great as it's a great way to get good books to read and give. Despite this well-deserved 5-star review, there are two things that would make this library even better: 1) Extended hours every day. I know this is likely a financial impossibility. However, the limited evening hours limit the usefulness of the library for anyone who is occupied during the day. 2) Study rooms that are better soundproofed. The existing four rooms have gaps in the glass walls that allow you to hear what others are saying and allow others to hear what you're saying. Because people are looking for quiet and privacy, the lack of soundproofing defeats the purpose of a study room. Visibility is fine, but soundproofing would make these more useful. It would be amazing if there were several small study rooms in addition to these four larger ones. I recognize that this is also probably a financially unlikely improvement. I guess I'm spoiled. I really love this library and would give it ten stars if I could, despite my wishes for it to be open more and have quieter and more study rooms. read more

Woohoo! Another review that gets bumped up! Not only does the library look better than the old one (and is MUCH better than the storefront library we had to put up with for a while), but the facilities have improved (bathroom, study rooms, internet rooms) and there is a better selection of books. Everything seems to be a lot more efficient than what it was years ago. Also, that annoying librarian is gone, thankfully. You still have the occasional loud kids and their ridiculous parents who don't know how to discipline them. I'm not a kid fan myself and I don't plan on ever having children, but usually when there are loud children, it's the parents' fault...and I've seen WAY too many parents here who let their kids run rampant here. *HOWEVER*, I did see one time when a librarian told the parent to make their kid be quiet. How cool is that? read more

I absolutely adore that this is my local library. It's so clean and organized! The programs they put on and provide are amazing for every age. Grandparents can come in and read to kids in the area and teens can volunteer to help out at the library. They have a computer room, an outdoor area to read in, a huge kids area, and a separate teen room full of books! There's also a ton of seating placed throughout, a room for all your photocopy and printing needs, and a local art room. You can checkout your books vis the computers at the exit or with one of the librarians. There's a return slot outside the library thats really nifty. If you download the Libby app you can reserve books that are hardcopy or audiobooks!! If they are audiobooks you can either pick them up at the library or listen to them directly on your device! This library also has a really cool used bookstore at the front. Where you can purchase books for really great deals. Love this place and everything it has to offer. read more

Wow I love this library. I mean I don't read cause it's boring, but the library is of the highest quality. The AC is poppin during these hot summers. And the chick with red hair, Karla i think her name is. (She stay changing her hair color so it'll probably be a rainbow or something next time.) She is a nice young lady though. read more

I love this library. It's not the best place to study or get anything done. I never stay longer than 15-20 minutes...TOPS because I just grab the items that I requested (and they shelve and put on hold) and I let my son grab some children DVDs, THEN let him go on the computer so he could play some of the games they have. It gives me a chance to also grab some of the picture books they have for his age group as well. What I especially love about San Diego County Library is how "forgiving" this county library is. They have something called "Fine Free Friday" on the last Friday of each month. Basically, if you have an overdue book/dvd/CD or whatever else you check out, you can return it on the last Friday of each month to have that fee waived. It's not for just one item...it's for ALL items. So if you have 100 overdue items that you turn in on a FFF, all 100 items will be fine free. How awesome is that. Riverside county libraries don't have that. The GRAND OPENING at their new location is TODAY 1/22/11 at 10 AM. If we weren't so busy today, I'd totally go with my kids... =( read more

When I moved to Fallbrook from Dana Point, one of the first things I did was go find the library! No matter what, our library here in Fallbrook is SO completely ALL GOOD THINGS. There is something for everyone and I love going there for myself (ah, so relaxing) and also taking the grand-kids. I am getting my Masters in May, so to be able to sit with my laptop, books and do homework in such a gosh-darned beautiful place like our library is just wonderful. Originally I come from Chicago, where our libraries are many and well-stocked. However, it is up to US to actually make sure our kids are BFFs with the library and read, read, read! NOTE: I attend Ashford University and the San Diego campus librarians told me they heard of our library, and I invited them to come to visit us soon. They are planning to do so. read more

Amazing library. Plenty of parking, modern design inside. There are sculptures, and water fountains. Fun activities like the lego room, and yoga classes, and story time for kids. Fun toys for the little ones (train table and more) I request audiobooks from my phone app, and they are shipped to this library from anywhere in the country. read more

My son needed to work on a project for school so we decided to head to this library today. I was totally oblivious to the fact that today was the grand opening, so while it was neat to be surrounded by the festivities, we had work to do while we were there. We arrived at the library at 4p and worked in the kids area. After a bit, l I figured we'd hear about the closing time via the frequent loudspeaker announcements that were being made. At about 4:45, sure enough, they announced that they were closing at 5:30. Ok, I thought, we have a decent amount of time to work. At 5:07 ( I know because I was checking time vigilantly), a staff member came into the area and gave us another closing time reminder. Again, I thought- still more time. In the next few minutes, I noticed a couple of librarians walking around the area, surveying the people still there watching the movie playing and using the computer. One librarian walked next to our table, then said loudly to her colleagues at the nearest desk, "Do we need to make another announcement?" These annoyed librarians began talk about how they could encourage people to leave (which seemed obvious to me: turn off the movie that was playing). I then became annoyed too at 5:16, and told my kids we were leaving 14 minutes before closing. I spoke to the librarian at the circulation desk who apologized for their comments and behavior. She told me that closing time was usually at 5 and it was only for today that it was 5:30. I smiled and told her her that I heard that announcement but that I didn't think it was cool to hear their chit chat and annoyed comments before that specific closing time. Now, it did not bother me when I watched the librarians discipline kids who were not demonstrating appropriate library behavior, however, this adult behavior by the librarians themselves is something I find upsetting. #1- my son and I wanted to use the library space for study time while it was open, but apparently, closing time here at the new Fallbrook library will now be whenever the librarians can will you to leave earlier. I have never encountered this at the Vista library and my family of nerds have closed that joint plenty of times. #2- Hey, Fallbrook librarians!!!! SHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH! People are trying to watch a movie/use the computer/study, please!!! For me, a new building, a full slate of activities, and flat screen TVs can't make up for staff who are rude to tax-paying library users. read more

I was very impressed with this library and the staff. The design / layout where well thought out, modern, and efficient. They have a wide selection of books, movies, and they offer a host of activities and special events. I especially like the multi-media room which will be a great space for presentations once completed. read more

Also, I had a sensitive work meeting here in one of the rooms, and a different rude librarian barged in without knocking, telling us to leave because our time was up. I love to the new library; it is beautiful and modern. it reflects Fallbrook in an artsy way. The architects incorporated outdoor reading area which is a nice feature. They have plenty of study spaces and areas for children which should appease the "older" crowd. And, I love the living roof. It is gorgeous and it such have the benefit of keeping the energy costs downw. read more

Fallbrook Library is a San Diego County Library and has so many wonderful books available for request online through their requesting service. Additionally, the location is beautiful and there is bountiful parking, an upper lot and a lower lot. There is also disabled parking and very nice bathrooms. The book return and check out is very simple and easy and the staff are very helpful. The children's program in the summer, the reading program has been a staple of our family since the birth of our children. We love to be a part of this community and very thankful we have a resource as wonderful as the San Diego County Fallbrook Library. read more

Great library they always super nice and have lots of activities going on throughout the month. Only thing I wish is that they would call you if they see you're late on returning something like a reminder or heads up. They just charge you and then when you go in you find out on your own if you owe them I checked out a few items for my daughter but then I went into labor before returning them and forgot by the time I remembered and came in my bill was $40. read more

This Library is top-notch! The architecture has so much art incorporated into it and it's always a pleasant experience to be seated at one of the seating areas inside or in the serene patio outside. I also love the different divisions in this library. It has a few tutoring rooms, conference/study rooms, a closed-off teenage room, and even a kids area with someone who reads books for story time to children. In addition, the book and movie selection is great. Checking out and turning in books is also effortless, all done as self-checkout and self-return. This is a great alternative for studying or reading in comparison to all the early-closing coffee-shops in Fallbrook. Only thing I wished for was the hours to be extended to later! The library is very nice. Looks still modern. You can find some books on what you are looking for but not all everything you will find. At Friday's at 3pm you can play chess here at the back of the library at the Homework Center. Also, I can hear a woman teaching basic Spanish language words while reading Spanish books to the children. The water fountain by the restroom: water was very cold which was nice. There wasn't any paper to dry your hands after using the restroom to dry my hands but a blow dryer. The library is usually quiet. You can hear some talk of noise while still studying to read here. They have a teen room and two study rooms to sign up to use them. They have other programs within the library within the events calendar by looking up their website. Plus, you can go outside within the library to study there too. I enjoy playing chess here at Fallbrook Library Chess Club any one can play at any age! Enjoy! I rate this library 4 stars! read more

Very unhappy with the service I got, I tried to print something and I went to the front desk to ask if we were able to print since the printer said out of service. The elderly lady who helped me was honestly the most rudest person I have ever met. She didnt help at all and her responses were so rude! The worst experience! read more

I agree with the other poster about it being kinda weird architecture for Fallbrook. But its new and fresh and I wont complain about that. I love the ease of checking out and returning of books. I love being able to get my books on hold by myself. They need more books. Badly. And movies. Its never quiet in there. LOUD kids not being disciplined is the norm. I grew up being shushed by librarians as a kid if my voice went above a whisper. Why dont the librarians at this library handle unruly kids? I swear, its EVERY time I go. I'd almost trade the computer searches for the dewey-decimal system just to have some quiet time when i go to the library. read more

This is the best library I have ever been involved with. I started bringing my son here when he was about 3 months old for baby story time. He is now almost 2 and still goes to story time every friday! He has made great friends through story time and LOVES the story librarian, Ms. August. She is so great with the kids and organizes so many wonderful things at the library, and all for free. There are so many different activities avaliable for everyone, infants through senior citizens. We are at the library for different story times or activities abut 3 times a week. Their selection is great and if you want something you don't see, you can request it and they will send it from amother library. The look and feel of this library is fresh and inviting. Everyone who works there is helpfull and very nice. If you have kids, or any age, definitely stop in and see what the library has to offer for you! read more

I love the architecture and the selection of kids books is great. They have a lot of cook books but the adult fiction can be a little sparse. That said, you can get anything through inter library loan. The architecture is visually striking but not some imposing glass and steel monstrosity. It has a garden on the roof which is very appropriate for garden centered Fallbrook. Inside is warm and full of quiet reading nooks. The children's area has computers set out which is nice but I wish they were in a separate room because they draw the kids away from the books. read more

The Fallbrook Library is a special spot in Fallbrook. The design of the building is awesome - with unique indoor & outdoor reading areas. It has a living roof and meeting rooms where they hold Zumba classes and other fun things for the community. The redo of the Library a few years ago was one of the greatest things for the Fallbrook community. This new and improved Library is something we can be proud of! read more
