I love this location! Good selection of books, but smaller than Ronald H. Roberts. Quiet and nice area to do work or study. I believe there is one room to reserve. Lots of computers. The woman I spoke to was very helpful! She told me I could use a library card from any library in the Riverside library system and return books to any location which I did not know. Much less people go to this location than RHR. read more

Grace Mellman library is a very nice place to visit. We was in the area so we stopped here. Turtle had fun on the kids area. There they have computers for kids. Place is nice size a lot of books to read. Had fun here. Staff was friendly and helpful. They have story telling room here was nice to see. If your out here stop by and enjoy a good book read more

This library is SO LOUD! Employees do not tell the screaming children anything. I get they are children however there should not be screaming at a library. Take your kids to the park down the street! Wifi is on and off. Every time I've come, there is children running up and down with no parental supervision. Not an ideal place to come if you want it to be quiet. read more

I have visited this library before, it's small and nice. They have variety of books. Great staff also. It's a bit hidden but it's still a good place to pick up books and have some quiet study time. I definitely think it's much more quiet than the Temecula library read more

My goal was to get a library card on this visit. I've been here a few times. Very quick, easy. Application wasn't long at all. Ladies at the front desk are friendly/up beat. Great variety of books for children- teens and adults. Lots of audio books, vhs movies, magazines etc. Pretty spacious area for everyone. Various spots to read near the bookshelves, magazine area, etc. Computer work stations, copiers are close to librarians desk for convenient help. I was searching for a few books, librarian said some were unavailable (already checked out), the others would be put on hold for me. Very helpful, and saved me time. They even have a few book self checkout stations in the front. Great if lines are too long, your in a rush. Simply scan your library card, each book your checking out, a printed receipt shows when your book is due, your done. read more

I usually visit the Temecula Library on Pauba, but was near the mall today and decided to give the Mellman Library a try. The remodel is REALLY nice. It's compact but there are some nice areas to sit, relax, read, compute. FREE wi-fi. Very clean. Staff is very friendly. It's in the local government complex North of the mall. The day I was here, there was a rather interesting crowd. It's next door to the probation office, mental health, and a clinic. It was a little loud at times with random people singing (Scooby Doo theme!?!?!?) Anyway, I'd come back if I was down that way. read more

Great place to get online audio books on CD's. Good selection within the Riverside County Library system. Easy to use. Pick up and return the CD's to the Mellman library. Very friendly staff. Nice and clean. Strange hours of operation, but not a problem. My newest favorite pastime, listening to books on my portable CD player using earbuds. Thanks. read more

Just started visiting this library, it's small but good for my kiddos. I would give it 5 stars but the the lady that helped us (Cassie) must've been having a bad day. She had awful customer service and had an attitude. Whenever I asked something she looked annoyed, like wtf. This is your job and if you hate it then move in to something different. read more

The library is updated and comfortable, but the patrons make the experience interesting. I'm sure it has something to do with it being in such close proximity to the mental health clinic and the probation office. I do love libraries because of how quiet and peaceful they are. But it's weird when dudes are looking at you longer than the acceptable one second glance. Not even the free wi-fi will bring me back here. However, I did check out a few books so that means I'll have to return here eventually. I'm wondering if it'll be safer to return them at night. Do yourself a favor, drive the extra few miles to the Temecula library on Pauba. I live right up the street so I decided to come to this one... big mistake. I have never been SOO annoyed at a library. There hasn't been a single second where it's been quiet here... WTF? Cell phones are going off left and right... and people answer them! Kids are yelling... I'm honestly surprised. The staff also wanders around as if these things aren't happening? Helloooo, there are people trying to study! The Pauba library also has much better hours. I'm not sure that this will be my primary library anymore :( read more

We come to this library strictly for the kids section. My daughter loves it here. They have a great summer reading program and other programs through out the year. The staff is amazing and they made it very special when my daughter got her own library card. They have a wonderful selection of books for the kids. We love it here read more

Ive been coming to this library for years and was away for a few months and when I came back the study tables in the back were gone? Ita now in the middle which is terribly inconvenient to students as there's no outlets for laptops and its not quiet enough to study. Visits have been alllll-right! But, like others have mentioned... the visit itself, well it's not all that bad. The PC area is often quite smelly, stinky, sticky, and did I mention smelly! Seriously. It would be great to space out the computers to give the patrons who are adults, a little more space between each other. Many times during our visits, it is barely enough room to squeeze in and squeeze out of the available terminal area without bumping someone's chair or something. Other than that some of the staff, is often, quite helpful and personable. The Wi-Fi is good and having the ability to print sometimes is cool. But, again nothing to ooohhh and ahhh about... people here are generally more laid back, which is cool. But, we generally do not go out of our way to come to this particular library... read more

This librarys not that bad. Yesterday was the first time I've been there since I was a kid and the place has not changed. Yes the people were a bit interesting to look at but everyone keeps to themselves. I had gone to see if they had a genealogy section and was referred to the Temecula Library because they didn't have a section for it. So if you're looking to do research along those lines, don't stop here, go to the Temecula Libray off Pauba. read more

Aside from the nice woman in the children's section, the majority of the staff I've dealt with here are completely rude and off-putting. There are 3 young girls at the front desk in particular that appear to be entirely miserable. I'll never understand how certain people get hired for jobs that require helping others and social interaction. I'm sure there's people that would gladly take their place! read more

Two years ago I found a truffle growing between the sidewalk and the grass. On Ynez road close to the empty field across the street.

I loved this library! Great for kids and cute events. In the past few months, I have had several occasions I returned a book that didn't get checked back into the system. The other day it happened again and it wasn't until I returned the following day that I was able to locate the 2 books in question. I understand books get misplaced, it isn't a perfect system...however I was not pleased with the way the librarian assumed because I have 3 kids, that it had to be me who was at fault, especially since it ended up being library error. The library as a whole is great, but the customer service is definitely a thing to be desired. If you have a habit of checking out a lot of books at once, I recommend you take precautions when returning your books OR just go to the Temecula Library instead. The possible fees to could mistakenly incur and the lack of professional service just aren't worth the risk. I'm sad because I really did love this library but I just can't trust it anymore. read more

For years I have been going to the library near where I work and I've never had a problem but, a few months ago I decided to try out this library because it is near my home. After years of checking out books on cd and never losing not one, last month I checked out a couple of audio books from this library and when I get to the second audio book, one of the cds is missing so I return it to the library and let them know that one of the cds is missing. A few days later I get a call from the librarian telling me that I need to pay for the audio book because she knows that all of her co-workers that check the books back in always follow all of their protocols so I had to be the one that lost it. I explained to the librarian that the book never left my car and the cd is not in my car so the cd was missing when I checked it out she said that is not possible because all of her co-workers ALWAYS follow protocols and she is going to take their word for it so I am responsible for the book. I don't know about the rest of you but, I have never worked in a company where all of the employees are perfect and have never made a mistake so until that happens I will continue to not blame and accuse my customers of "wrong doings". The first time that I took my children to the library we had bad experience. When I was trying to get my two children library card I had employees behind me waiting for us to leave because my three years old was talking a little loud which I understand. But the problem here is that I wanted get the library cards fast to leave the library fast but I could not because the cashier said that each of my child have to request the library and choose the color and etc This doesn't make sense because I wanted do it fast and at the same time my younger son cannot make desitions by himself. I really wanted go fast but I could not do it. . This was ridicullus and did not make any sense. I think the library stick with old fashion rules. read more

Best Library in Temecula (from a Mom with little kids POV). This library is great, my kids (6, 2, 1) come here once a week, at least and love it! Great selection of books in the children's area and the Story-times are completely tailored to the age range (meaning they don' t read three books in a row to a group of 18 month olds), mixing in songs and dancing. The storyteller/reader/leader is interactive and really gets into the book/song/dance....keeping the kids' attention. At the end of the toddler story-time, the librarians bring out toys and the babies get to interact with each other and play with various toys. Great for meeting other moms and teaching young ones to play with others (ie: sharing). I can't say enough good things about this library, staff is beyond nice and always understanding when a little one is acting up or not using their 'library voice'. However, the staff will remind you it is a library if your children are not being respectful/quiet (clearly understandable and no complaints here). Best of all they have activities all summer long!! Where some library's children's storytimes 'close' for the summer, Grace Mellman continues their programs and offers special summer-time programs too. To top it off, there is now tons of covered parking (raised solar panels)!! read more

I recommend as others have to go elsewhere. Very consistently I have experienced that those who work there do not want to work. They are irritated if I ask them a question and especially when I ask them to turn my books in. I consistently bring them to the desk to check in because they will not check them in immediately and consequently I get charged. I would overlook it once, maybe twice, but this has happened a lot. Hence my review. Either entitled workers or bad management, I don't know which. read more

I am at the Grace Mellman Community Library at least twice a week. I wouldn't go anywhere else. In my experience, the staff is very friendly and helpful. Libraries are not what they used to be where you are silenced with a stern look from the Librarian if you open your mouth. People are allowed to speak. There is a diverse clientele but doesn't everyone deserve a chance to visit the Library even if they are challenged in some way. This Library is comfy, cozy, and friendly. I have found the Pauba Library to be cold not just in architecture but also in patrons. There are special study, quiet rooms at GMCL if you want it to be absolutely quiet. So for those of you who have blogged about the noise, go sit in a quiet room. It is the original Library in the area and is still serving all the local residents well. read more
