Further information is available on their web & media sites. It's free so bring your own skates and protective gear. No rentals. Fun people with all sort of levels show up. You can blade or roller skate on the outdoor hockey rink. They play fun music and even do routine type dances that you can join in on too. Really fun! This event truly brings up childhood memories and nostalgia for me!

But they're there pretty much every Friday night from 6-8pm which makes for an awesome night as it's usually during the sunset, and then after the sunset they showcase their super fun rink lights and people wear glow in the dark wheels and it's just really fun! They also usually host "Sunday Roll-Outs" every Sunday morning down at the Oceanside Strand, meeting up under the pier, near and/or at the amphitheater, from around 10am - 2pm. Then, at some point during that time, they all roller skate together down the entire south end of the Strand, which is seriously EPIC! That's also advertised on their Instagram page, so double check that before heading out. They always play great music and everyone is so welcoming even to the newest skaters. They always help new people learn some basics, too! I've met so many nice people through them, and have even made a few really good friends through Oceanside Rollerskating, so I'm very grateful to the people who have organized this.

At first my Grom who was just starting to get interested in skate parks said no it's too advanced. He was used to skating more on a cruiser board on the street. So I said I'm going in. I was on a carver so not a park board really but I was having fun. My Grom joined me and realized there were parts of the park that he could Manage and he started rolling in off the edges and making it. Theses were the smaller sections and that don't having coping so he could roll in off the edge. He had a blast and upped his game so I guess I actually love this place

Parents hanging out "picnic" style. I see that people bringing their dogs too.... The skatepark is little up on a hill so it gets nippy in the afternoon so bring your sweatshirt if you are being an audience. Carlsbad Safety Center is located right next to the skatepark and it gives a great feeling of extra security since police cars are constantly coming & going.

At one point the had swing gates to close different tracks. They were painted green. My son didn't see it was closed and rode full speed. Ended in the er with stitches and chest and rib bruising. I sent an email to the city asking if they can do something to make it more noticeable. When kids are racing around they aren't paying attention. Within just a day or two of sending that email they put reflective yellow and black markings on all the gates. Amazing job and it did make a huge difference. The kids seem to always check on everyone and usually great family experience. Don't like the overwhelming e-bikes and dirt bikes, even though there are signs not allowing them, but that's the new thing so I guess it's to be expected. Love how the city has days for the public to help maintain the park. My kids take ownership and want to help and keep it going. They are 11 and 14. Great to see them learning responsibility and care.
