Great skatepark. A lot of younger kids trash it and cuss like they came from the wild and raised by wolves instead of parents. If you're not bothered by all the little punks then I'd recommend it.

    Grand Opening big success!

The skatepark was nice. The concrete was nice. Some waves and euro gaps. The bowls were also nicely constructed.

Overall an OK skatepark. I would say that this park is meant for higher skilled skateboarders which explains why many pros skate here.

Further information is available on their web & media sites. It's free so bring your own skates and protective gear. No rentals. Fun people with all sort of levels show up. You can blade or roller skate on the outdoor hockey rink. They play fun music and even do routine type dances that you can join in on too. Really fun! This event truly brings up childhood memories and nostalgia for me!

You just have to check their Instagram page to make sure it hasn't been canceled due to weather or other conflicts (oceanside_rollerskating). But they're there pretty much every Friday night from 6-8pm which makes for an awesome night as it's usually during the sunset, and then after the sunset they showcase their super fun rink lights and people wear glow in the dark wheels and it's just really fun! They also usually host "Sunday Roll-Outs" every Sunday morning down at the Oceanside Strand, meeting up under the pier, near and/or at the amphitheater, from around 10am - 2pm. Then, at some point during that time, they all roller skate together down the entire south end of the Strand, which is seriously EPIC! That's also advertised on their Instagram page, so double check that before heading out. They always play great music and everyone is so welcoming even to the newest skaters. They always help new people learn some basics, too! I've met so many nice people through them, and have even made a few really good friends through Oceanside Rollerskating, so I'm very grateful to the people who have organized this.

We waited until she finished and told her we were there for our first swim class. Instead of checking us in or explaining where to go, she simply pointed toward the outdoor pool area and told us to "go ask a lifeguard." This is a large facility with multiple pools and lessons happening at the same time. Since we'd never been there before, we wandered around trying to figure out where our instructor was. A lifeguard pointed us to another pool, but there was still no one directing us. We eventually had to interrupt an instructor to ask if he knew where we should be. At that point, the instructor asked for our son's name, looked at the child he was currently teaching, and realized he was teaching the wrong student. His response was that because the other family had arrived first, he would just teach both children together. We had prepaid for a private lesson specifically because our son has never had swim lessons before. Sharing the lesson with another child was not what we paid for or expected. We ultimately requested a refund and left without our son ever having his first lesson. Everyone can make mistakes, but this experience reflected a lack of organization from start to finish. There was no check-in process, no guidance for first-time families, and no clear communication about instructor assignments. For a business teaching young children around water, I expected much better organization and professionalism.

This event was well received by the community...more than 30 people (mixed age groups) showed up to volunteer. It was AWESOME!! This beauuutiful 42-acre park contains the largest public tennis complex in the city (10 tennis courts and 6 pickleball courts), basketball court, baseball/softball fields, a multi-sport turf arena, alongside a modern playground, designated dog park area, and shaded picnic areas. Major pluses are restrooms, drinking fountains, and free parking. I definitely recommend this green space and family-friendly park to the Yelp Community :-)

The few times I've been here has been enjoyable and everyone (including dogs) have been very amicable. The dog park is very well kept and like how they have some little obstacles courses for the dogs. The pickleball courts are also very nice but there are some areas that have been worn out, mostly behind the baseline. But nice seating area and efficient paddle system to rotate people in and out. I only wish it was closer to me.
