I had spoken at length to the main Apple repair place, and it was clear they were going to wipe my hard drive when they got my machine in their hands, just as a matter of policy and even though it was NOT necessary to service a problem with my screen. Further, they told me flat out they would replace the screen, no question of assessing the situation at all. Caleb told me he was pretty sure it just needed cleaning to come back on, and then talked to me at length about other problems I've simply been living with for a long time on this laptop. We talked about cost estimates, and when I told him how unhappy I've been with the miniscule flash drive in this machine he told me he could give me a new, bigger hard drive. Once I shipped my laptop to him -- that's right, he's good enough that even just after talking on the phone with him I SHIPPED MY LAPTOP AWAY to a total stranger! -- I told him I didn't think I could deal with totally reconfiguring a new hard drive right now. Things are just too stressful at work. His response was to tell me he'd reconfigure it for me. Well, everything turned out just as he had said it would. He got my screen working again by simply cleaning it. And then he put in a new hard drive and set all my files back the way I'd had them -- even put my screen saver back as I'd had it set, and the desktop settings as well! He replaced a trackpad that's given me trouble for years. And the total cost to get my laptop totally revamped and like-new? -- Almost exactly the same as what Apple had quoted me just to replace a screen that did not need replacing and then return my machine with all its other problems, including the too-small hard drive, un-dealt-with. Instead, for the same expenditure, I have what feels like a new laptop, but without the hassle of setting up a new machine and transferring files and preferences. Somehow he did all that for me! We are so happy that my sister/co-worker is sending her machine in for the same restorative treatment, and looking forward to feeling like she too has a whole new laptop. I found Caleb at Fallen Apples online and reviews looked good. Went in to see if he had a used IMAC to replace my 12 yr. old one. He didn't at that time but he offered very good advice about where I might find one. He patiently answered my many questions about what I should look for and why - in language I could understand. A week later, I took him my new refurbished IMAC that I bought directly from Apple - along with my old computer for him to transfer my information. The next day it was ready for me - at a very reasonable price. He tutored me on some things I didn't understand how to do and answered more questions. He even cleaned the insides of my old machine in case I wanted to keep it. I am running the new one now at home and everything is working beautifully. When I took my old 2011 MacBook in for diagnosis and repair, he was able to correctly diagnose the problem right while I was there speaking with him and gave me a very fair and reasonable quote! In addition to fixing the hardware problem I had, he went above and beyond, by cleaning the machine and applying new thermal paste that is part of the machine's heat dissipation system. I was referred to Caleb by the third party that couldn't fix my iMac. As soon as I gave my computer to Caleb he noticed that it was missing two brackets and four screws. Upon further review he noticed that the mother board had been damaged by the third party. And since my computer was nearly new he wasn't able to locate the the parts needed to complete the repair. So he was resourceful and located a computer on eBay, same model, same year, that was being sold for parts. He won the bid on that computer and used the parts to repair mine. These guys are amazing, I can't recommend them enough. I had a broken iMac and all I wanted was the photos from the hard drive.. apple and their geniuses gave me the run around for weeks while they did nothing with it, so I just said screw it and brought it home.....after years with the iMac sitting in the closet I drive by fallen apple... talked to Caleb, a week later brought in the iMac, a week after that I have the whole hard drive (not just the photos) that I can access on my computer. Caleb is AMAZING! I spilled soup on my mac's keyboard and it instantly shut off. I was freaking out, so I messaged Caleb to see if he could help. He responded quickly compared to others I messaged on Yelp, and had me come in the next morning. He did a deep cleaning on my mac and was able to get it working perfectly again, even better and cleaner than before. Aside from how efficient he was, he is MUCH MORE affordable than other places and of course more affordable than the Apple Store. Wow. This place is great. So great that I am writing my first review...ever. I put off getting my MacBook fixed for years due to fear of it costing too much and the overall hassle. Caleb knew exactly what he was doing, had it tuned up and replaced the hard drive cable promptly. It was ready the next day and after a week of use, it is working better than it did out of the box 4 years ago. He also fixed my Iphone charging issue for free (it had lint in the charging port, even though I had already tried to clean it out). All this at a very reasonable cost. Great honest friendly service! Caleb repaired my Macbook Pro within the time he stated and at a very reasonable price. In addition, he stated I could bring my Macbook back if I found any issues within the next 90 days and he would troubleshoot and repair at no additional cost.
