I had about 10 minutes to get there, and when I went up to the door I found it to be locked. As I'm standing there with the boxes in my hand I was about to turn around and walk away, when I saw a gentleman approaching the door. I was about three minutes past their closing time and the owner let me come in, and he was able to tag both of my boxes with shipping labels. There are some places that would shake their head and say "sorry but we are closed". My print job involved a complicated process: 300+ pages, 18 report chapters with custom-printed divider tabs to be inserted, and color-specific covers/backs + a large size spiral bind. But these components were the easiest part of the project that Debra and team tackled! My client's last extremely last-minute edits to the report (one day before Debra was scheduled to be out of the office and the client was scheduled to leave the country), is where Debra's team displayed superhero customer service. A project that we mutually agreed would need 3 days to print, insert tabs, and assemble, was all accomplished in 24 hours. I fully expected to arrive at Allegra's office in Reno (45 minutes from my office) to pick up all the separate components that I would manually put together myself because of the last-minute edits. When they brought out the box of fully assembled reports, completely ready to go, I literally got teary-eyed. I couldn't believe the lengths that Debra and her team went to, to get this project over the finish line, given the extraordinary circumstances. I was looking at a day of stress and scrambling to assemble the reports and then find someone who could spiral bind them so I could meet my client before they flew out that same day. Instead, I had the exact opposite day. And I fully expected to pay double what I was charged - just based on the pain in the butt factor of this project! The value of print job and customer service were outstandingly priced. I can't say enough great things about Allegra ... I've used all the other print options out there, including online and local big print shops. I'm taking the time to write this now because I'm about to order another big print job. So when I first started doing the sailing charter thing, I went for the quick, easy low hanging…read moreinstant gratification fruit and ordered my first business cards online from VistaPrint. They were pretty good, and cost me a little over $60- for 250 cards. When they ran out I finally did the smart thing and went to my friend Russell Hicks, who has been in the printing business for well over 30 years, which frankly is what I should have done to begin with. I just got my order. The turn around was every bit as fast as VistaPrint (faster, actually), the cards much nicer thanks in no small part to Russ's personal attention and expertise, and - get this - I got 1,000 cards for LESS than $60-! So I got 4X the cards, which were nicer and higher quality, for LESS money than I paid to VistaPrint! Lesson learned. Thank you Russ; and if anyone needs any kind of printing done you should call, email, send a message by carrier pigeon, or stop by and talk to Russ at Sandell's Printing; it's not often that the pros are way cheaper than the hacks, you'll be glad you did.
