9/22/2022 I feel so fortunate that our town has so many options for landscapers.. Unfortunately, part of our backyard grass started to brown and then dying.. At first initial thoughts were to wait til next year, then replace it all, or go xeriscape.. or partial and replace where it needed until we come up with a design plan. I reached out to several businesses and they were all good and they responded timely. Gerardo, was quick on replying with texts and when he came out several weeks ago, was very honest.. We opted to replace the dying grass with sod. Not only that, we also are having him bring in some decomposed granite ... Work began 8 am this morning. Taking out the old grass, and also putting in a few sprinklers, along with sod. Hard working, experienced and honest.. what more could you expect... I was thrilled to discover Reno Sparks Landscape! I had called a number of landscape contractors and hit all kinds of obstacles, being ghosted, not quoting what was asked for, not available for four to six months etc.. The last company I called referred me to Gerardo and his team, I gave Gerardo a call and he was out within a couple of days to look at our blank landscape (new housing), a few days later I had a plan ready to present to the HOA and a quote. The HOA approved the plan and Gerardo and his team started the next week. They were prompt and consistent with their work schedules, they were neat with their tools and cleaned up after themselves each day. We had a patio to enjoy within 10 days, they came back two weeks later to install the pergola once it was delivered, and now we have the patio we desired. Our small backyard at our new home required a professional approach to comply with the HOA. We worked with Kelli on the landscape design and Gerardo came through with flying colors on the installation. He and his crew did excellent work on the cement planter, the pavers, the arrangement of plants, the irrigation system, and other details. We will definitely use them for ongoing maintenance (spring and fall). They have the expertise knowing which plants do well in the area and which to avoid. I would not recommend this company to anyone. They installed a sprinkler system with poor water coverage and now I must water manually to keep my grass alive. This is not what I paid for. A cement curb was installed correctly but all the leftover cement was left on my front and backyard rocks. I was very disappointed in their quality or work and thought they were very unprofessional. read more

I used Reno Sparks Landscape for a landscaping project in two phases in 2022 and 2023 and I can strongly recommend them for any landscaping project you may be considering. Here's what they did at my home... I moved into a newly constructed home on 5 acres in Palomino Valley in December of 2021. There was no landscaping at all except a six-foot wide patio out the back sliding door and tumbleweed as far as you could see beyond that! I called several landscaping companies. One said it was too far (30 minutes north of Sparks) and another created a very basic design of a bigger rectangular patio and pergola, but with an estimate that seemed overpriced. Then a general contractor friend of mine recommended Reno Sparks Landscape and also encouraged me to draw up my own design. My design had a much larger patio with curved edges, a pergola, fire pit, six-foot high stucco walls with lighting and a concrete pad for my RV with water, septic & electric connections to the RV pad and to the patio for an outdoor kitchen to be added later. Gerardo and Kelli finalized the design by confirming measurements and recommending a couple trees and then I braced myself for the estimate. But I got everything I wanted for less than that basic patio quote I got from the other guys. It wasn't cheap but it was a fair price for all that was done. Phase 2 this year added more trees and plants with irrigation. It just finished a few weeks ago. I could not be more pleased! Kelli is Reno Spark's secret weapon for landscape design when it comes to the best trees and plants for the area. Her design was much more diverse and interesting than the one (eventually) provided by that major nursery here in Reno that I also contacted. Were there problems and challenges in such a large project? You bet! Kelli and Gerardo are easy to work with. Issues were resolved quickly and without debate. Highly recommended! read more
