To anyone thinking of going here... please save yourself. They literally ruined my life. I went as a TTU freshman to get a simple cavity done. 7 years later and I still experience excruciating pain in my jaw every once in a while and also developed migraines that sometimes turn into ophthalmic migraines. Long story short the dentist hand slipped while she had a numbing needle in the upper left side of my gums. She let out an audible "whoops" and I felt a sharp pain in my left jaw joint. Idk if she hit the joint or a nerve but 7 years later and I still suffer extreme consequences. I hope there is an afterlife just so that I can see that dentist again and let them know how much pain they put me through for the last 7 years and god knows how much more pain I'll experience because of this. They are awful. each time I should Waite more than one hour. They cancel my time several times. They Dr are not professional. Each time that I call them I should repeat my name and my information several times. They are not trained how to treat with customer. Customer service is 0. and manger, she hung up on me because I paid for a service that the doctor said I would do in future appointments. Bad business... quoted me $98 for a cleaning. Took a $60 payment an said after the cleaning I pay $38... then they told me after the X-rays that I didn't ask for that the cleaning is gonna be $1000... so I asked for my money back they said no that's for the X-rays... Two days ago I called to request a copy of my X-rays to be emailed to me and was told I needed to go in person to sign a document in order for me to get them. I went in today at 11:30 to get them for an appointment I have at 2pm today. I specifically requested for them to be emailed and instead the receptionist printed them off for me. Now here I am at my appointment needing the digital copies and having to call them to ask where there are because they were never sent to me just to be told it will be sent in roughly 3 hours from now ??? How ridiculous is it that i had covid in July, it's been 5 months and just now taking my son into an appt that's basically an emergency they told me they need a waiver from the health department saying I'm cleared from covid? The CDC states you don't need to retest; i never got anything from anyone stating i was "cleared" that's not even a thing! Stay away from Dr Thomas ! She was in a hurry to get us out of the office as she was running late. This led to my son's filling being improperly done. When we came back yesterday with my son in pain to see if I could get another dentist to re-do the work, the front desk person asked if I was sure if I wanted to see another general dentist - a Dr. Kala as she seemed to be having a bad day with her kid being in the office running around since she had no day care. The people behind the desk were the sitters. When I asked What type of place is this where the doctors bring their kids here to hang out while they work, the receptionist seemed puzzled by the question. There are some great workers here just a few but every time we come they seem to always be backed up. They always schedule more people than they can handle, as a ortho costumer our bills are not even understandable and we always have issues with the people at the counter. I set up an initial appointment 3 weeks prior to last Christmas. As I went in for my first and final appointment (initial consulation and X-ray), which by the way ended up costing only around $40 because they were offering a 40% discount for new patients at the time since they have only been open for several months. The receptionist was cordial but the reception area is stale, uninviting, and wreaked with a funky odor. This did not turn me off to the extent just yet. The only particular reason this place became my initial choice was because of a TV commercial advertisement offering a 40% initial discount and it was close to TTU. Yeah, too good to be true?! Well, it is! The catch is, if you don't have dental insurance the 40% initial discount is only approved upon certain procedures. Word of caution, if you need a tooth extraction be ready to pay much out of pocket if you don't have good dental insurance and if you don't have dental insurance as a private pay patient. And DO NOT come to this dental practice if you are looking for top notch dental care and procedures with honest, sympathetic, and professional dentists. The dentist's here are only interested in your pocket book and making money. They will treat you like cattle. Off the record, my dad is a reputable dentist (DDS & DMD) in my hometown and was a former Dean of the dental school at the University of Pittsburgh for over 2 decades. It is common knowledge and common dental practice to NOT extract any absessed tooth because it is infected and inflammed which is very dangerous and risky for the heart especially without an antibiotic prescription first and foremost. In my particular case, the dentist I consulted with was Dr. Matthew Larson who clearly was a inexperienced unprofessional, unethical, and uncompassionate dentist during his initial consultation with me. He was strongly insisting to extract 2 of my inflammed and absessed teeth while I was running a low grade fever without even prescribing me any antibiotics first. At this point, I told him that it was very dangerous and risky to my heart to do so without him prescribing me an antibiotic initially and he replied, "I do it all the time!" I replied, "You're a JERK!" I got up from the chair and I said, "Ciao Ciao" and never came back! I've since reported him to the Board of ADA. He had very poor bedside manner and corrupt business ethics. I found out that he's originally from Nebraska and has not been practicing dentistry for a good length of time in Lubbock at all or anywhere for that matter...inexperienced! In summary, I will not recommend this dental practice to anyone. Most of the dentists here are not from Lubbock and have not been practicing for very long as well. If you have children, please do not take them here for they will just tell you that your child needs crowns and a mouthful of silver fillings after the initial consultation, when it is clearly not true! I overheard another dentist nearby my station telling a very concerned Hispanic mom that her toddler child needed 12 silver fillings, and with 3 of them in the front upper row. I was completely flabbergasted and appauled!! :/ Prior to any dental appointments, do your own homework and ask many questions especially regarding how long they have been practicing dentistry and where. Call the American Dental Association for references as well. Word to the wise, Consumer Beware. read more

It was a great experience, today January 11, 2019. I came in with a nasty tooth pain in several teeth (including premolars). It turns out that I did not have an infection, but my bite was off. The nurse and the doctor were kind and thorough. They worked well with me, through the X-rays, the cleanings, and adjusting the shape of a few of my teeth and crowns (some were short, some were tall, the bite was off). The TV show was good (Dr Oz - I enjoyed it). The prices were very reasonable, most of it was covered by my insurance (Humana Dental with TTU). I recommend them. read more

As far as dentistry, we have had good experiences here so far. My son is a student at Texas Tech and it's convenient and they are friendly. The low rating is due to their orthodontic care. We knew our son was going to need some extensive orthodontic work once he was done growing - which he is just now finally getting to the that point - and we had such a good experience with the dentist we took them up on their orthodontic consult. It took 3 months to get in for the initial appointment to have molds done & braces put on....but we were assured that there would be no problems with monthly check ups/ adjustments. My son broke a bracket within days and when I called (as instructed) I was initially told he had to wait until his next appointment (this was Nov, because of holidays, next appointment was in Jan). After finally talking to the office manager I was able to find out he could walk in on the ONE day a week they have an orthodontist there - all they did was remove the bracket & said they would deal with the bracket at his next scheduled appointment.. His next appointment was supposed to be mid Jan, just got a call that they made a mistake when making his next adjustment appointment and scheduled him on a "new patient day" and he can't be seen that day and had to reschedule to Feb - so he will have had braces on for over 2 months before being seen for his FIRST adjustment after getting them on.
