I can see this place being good for families and groups...in fact, there were lots of screaming kids there during this trip. But the food is really bland and dried out. Food: Gross. Food has been sitting out forever. Ate around 5 pm. $13 for the most disgusting Chinese I've had. Service: Got sat at a table and given a glass of water. Never seen our waiter again. The facility was not too bad but confused as to why there is a door by the buffet that's open and it looks like someone has a storage unit in there. This is the only restaurant I feel should be reconsidered. I've been here a few times and it hasn't been great. The staff are always annoyed with everyone. The food is usually old and cold. The inside isn't very clean. I love Chinese food, but I'd recommend something a little cheaper, china ones fresh at least. I wish I could say nice things about this place. They got caught on facebook recently when a mom found a maggot in her child's food. They haven't addressed it, and yet people still eat here? Last time I ate here I tried their rib and the bones were splittered and jagged everywhere, it was cold too. Went to family buffet today with a friend and was promptly told when paying for the meal they don't accept coupons on holidays. Didn't see that anywhere posted so I told them and I expect my food hot. So over a $2 discount and cold food a long time customer will not be going back. Workers/owners should make sure their product is up to par, prior to making up rules as they go along. Oh well Pizza ranch is right across the street and always hot food there or Gators. read more

It's crazy amazing how many different selections they have at this buffet!! And how very well executed each dish is! Salad bar, hot and cold selections, even frogs legs a little sushi bar, too as well as deserts and a few American favorites on this buffet. Yumm!! read more

Good little buffet in the middle of nowhere. Service is pretty good. Food is low,but I get it. Not many customers so it eliminates the waste. It's your average china buffet type. Not better not worse just about the same. $11.22 after tax for one person so fairly priced. Nice staff. No complaints! read more

I thought that it was extremely good. The peanut chicken was mind blowing! The salad was crisp and fresh and the raw veggies were garden fresh. The fried shrimp was amazing and yummy. The crab ragoon melted in your mouth. It was very clean and the service was exceptional. Check it out! read more

My husband is not a fan of Chinese food. That being said, we go to this restaurant almost every time we eat in Burlington. Every time we don't, we're disappointed. We've been to supper (much better than lunch, has shrimp then!) and lunch. Pepper chicken is a common favorite. General Tso next. After that we tend to disagree as to what's best. I don't eat sushi, so can't comment on that. Sometimes the pepper chicken is a bit hotter than normal, but it's still delicious. I am also very fond of grilled crab meat and chicken and broccoli. We got there right as it opened once. The food wasn't very warm. That was the only time we had any problems with the food. I love the service too. Most places, the waitress refills my husband's drinks and totally ignores me. Even when I ask for a refill, I'm ignored. Family Buffet servers have never ignored me. They're always friendly and ready to help. It's lovely to eat out and not have to wait till your server is done talking with their friends or boyfriend before they serve you. We eat here at least twice a month. And will continue eating here. read more

Mostly quality delicious offerings but TERRIBLY RUDE service!! We really enjoyed the sushi, desserts and other entrees but had a waitress that rudely asked if we were ready to pay the bill before we were finished as well as just actng irritated the whole time so we didn't leave a tip. THEN that waitress stopped my sister and dramatically said "that doesn't pay for service!" and a bunch of other rude things until finally my sis decided to reluctantly give her a tip. Beyond terrible. If we hadn't been there with others, I would have packed up my family and walked out once I saw the meat on the Mongolian grill. It looked unappealing anyway, but when you turned it, it had gray coloring underneath and looked like stuff growing off it. Terrible! The General Tso's was vinegary. The jello was rock hard. The noodles off the grill had NO flavor. My family avoided the meats all together after seeing the raw meat on the grill. I really think this place could be shut down. Tried this place a few months ago and was horrified by the disgusting food. We never planned on going back until we got a mailer that they had new ownership/management and a coupon. So we figured we would give it a try. But again horribly disappointed. the selection was minimal and not replenished. The food was dried out and old. Been to this place several times, thinking each time will get better. Service is pleasant but feels a bit rushed sometimes.I have actually had them take my plate before I was done. The drinks however are refilled often enough and even if you say no, they will say ok and bring you another one anyway. It seems like the food is not always fresh. The only times you can count on fresh food is when it opens and just before 5pm. Then there are limited choices. I love a good buffet but when you get dried out food, it makes it very unappetizing. If you ask a question, most of the time they will nod and say ok and walk away. They don't understand what you are talking about and then about 5 to 10 minutes later someone will come over and ask what you wanted. They have a sushi bar in the back and it seems as though there are things there but no one back there to help you. My son had a question about a particular kind of fish and no one to help him. Went in for dinner around 7:30 and the staff seemed annoyed when we walked in. There were at least four other tables eating already, and a large party of young men walked in behind us. The food on the buffet was old and there was no egg drop soup, no sweet and sour sauce. We heard yelling in the kitchen and assumed when a cook came out and looked at the buffet that fresh food would be coming out soon. We waited for 20 minutes and still nothing! When we asked the waitress about the lack of food she said we could talk to the manager. The manager either didn't speak English, or pretended to... What a joke. read more

Had a horrible experience at this so called "buffet". We arrived for the luncheon. We ate there many times before. The "food" is not the best, but palatable. It is the only buffet in West Burlington. I went to get my entrée, and lo and behold there was this woman standing in front of two entrees. I wasn't interested in those entrees, so I chose the one next to the woman who was standing "guard" over them. She said in broken English that I could not have any of those two entrees....they were for the dinner entrees only, and she would have to charge me for the dinner, if I took even one spoonful. I was shocked and mortified to listen to this woman, whose voice was loud enough for other guests to hear. She then continued her tirade in Chinese to employees. Needless to say the two of us were humiliated. I told her that was poor business practice, and there was just the two of us in the "luncheon" section....All they had to do was cover those dishes, and that would have eliminated the confusion. I guess she enjoyed embarrassing paying customers. She need not be concerned....we will never go there again. If u go there, be prepared to be mortified by the discourteous Cashier. Reading the review from Tammy D leaves me breathless! Well really dumbfounded. Her analysis is really pathetic in its entire content. I lived in China for 5 years. I totally love Chinese food and the people there. Multitudes of Chinese restaurants in America have condesended to American values and the results end up that their food and quality become the comparison of American trash. Lets talk of Mcdonalds and the filthy contaminated environment. Lets include the very poor disgusting service of the staff. Oh, and not to forget the horrible undisciplined, uncontrolled little beasts people call their children. Ahhh, but Oh My God the price is so so cheap. Then there is Perkins restaurant. A hamburger for $9.00 ?? And the atmosphere is like from the 60's ?? Also not easily accessible and the parking is minimal to say the least. I know the culture of China, the thoughts and feelings of the people, and their dedication of commitment to the customers. Have trouble communicating with them? ? Learn a little Chinese like "Ni hao", " Ni de fan hen hao", "Xie Xie Ni", the difference in your experience will be amazing. You want them to provide you with better service? Show them you just might care about them a little more. I consider these people as my family and I treat them accordingly and they joyfully respond to me and my entire family with the same respect, courtesy and the best meals within a 100 mile radius of my home. Also their health and appearance are more than professional and energetic. Unlike most cattle size customers having fed on Happy Meals all week. Needless to say I am not even interested in listening to any one that would attempt to discourage people from eating at the Family Buffet. They are excellent people, a really comfortable family home environment, and the food is real, delicious, and a huge variety at your fingertips. All at the cost of a Whopper or BIg Mac meal.
