I was a patient of this Dr and had gone to him to get help for my neck because of my inability to…read moreturn my neck left and right to the extent a healthy neck could turn. After spending around $750 out of pocket to get help, I decided to attend a workshop he does to help patients understand the method he uses in his practice. When I walked into the room for the workshop, I was excited to be there and sat in the front row so no ones head would bother me since I was there to get help with a stiff neck and figured the front row would be best for me. Before Dr D'Anna started his workshop, he addressed me by name and asked if I would be more comfortable sitting in the back of the room. He did this two or three additional times but I just stayed put in the front row since I was comfortable there. I was a bit embarrassed that he asked only me to move, by name, in front of all his clients. He asked no one else in the room to move, only me. I had no clue why I was singled out. But, then, when he started his talk, about 10 minutes into his presentation, he actually implied that his method of healing had cured homosexuality by stating a client told him they had "switched teams". I was shocked. Here I was paying for what I thought was chiropractic treatment and I now realized this man had another agenda. Just so you reading this understand, chiropractors who hold a chiropractic license in Fl are not allowed to make misleading representations in the practice of chiropractic medicine. To tell clients a client "switched teams" during his chiropractic treatment is definately a misleading representation of what an chiropractic adjustment can do for one. His statment that night infuriated me and made me sad that someone I wanted to trust with my health, via chiropractor adjustments would make such an outrageous suggestion to his clients. Needless to say, before I left his office that night, I asked for a refund of my prepaid chiropractic fees. I am a 63 year old gay woman who has been with my partner for 26 years. He had met my partner who was also considering going to him. Before his statement that he had cured a homosexual, I had no idea this man would even consider that homosexuality could be cured. I went to him simply to help me free up my tight neck; not change who I was in my core. Also, He Was not really willing to use my insurance and now I know why. I had to pay out of pocket for his care. And to read the other review, where a client said he makes special exceptions to those that have no insurance; I was not aware of those special rates. So, if you decide to go to this Dr, make sure you know up front why he will not file an insurance claim and make sure you understand his method and philosophy's and what exactly you are paying for.

He kept me at least 15 minutes after my massage…read morewas over, and ran his hands up and down the back side of my body several times without first getting my consent. Consent for touching sensitive areas is ALWAYS established beforehand in a massage. That's number one. In 20 years of massages, I've only had one other person do that, so it's something that in my experience is pretty rare even in relaxation massages, and something I've never had done in a chiropractic massage. When I left, i realized all the rest of the office staff had left me alone in a locked office with him without telling me that would be the case (I was unaware that they closed for a huge chunk in the middle of the day), which is scary--I would never have chosen to be alone with him--and when I got back to my car, I realized that he'd gone way overtime. Massage therapists have two jobs: give massages and pay attention to the time. So the fact that he went overtime that long is pretty odd, and even odder that he didn't ask me if that was okay, and didn't even use that time for the purpose of healing what I went in there for (arm and neck), and instead ran his hands up and down my body and over my butt. This also wasn't stand alone. He also told a story about a sex joke he made (inappropriate), and just had a way of touching me that made me uncomfortable, the kind of thing where you have a bad feeling but you're asking yourself, am I worried for no reason, until you have a reason. Why did he keep me that late knowing no one was around and then do that? Creepy. I can't get this out of my head and I don't want that happening to anyone else. When I reached out to the office, they did want to discuss this over the phone, but the gaslighty opener was "I'm sorry you felt that way about your massage." I didn't feel that way about my massage. I felt that way about what happened AFTER my massage was over. I felt that way about the sketchy circumstances that the massage therapist created. I felt that way because something was wrong. I felt that way because HE DID SOMETHING he shouldn't have done, and that something was NOT a feeling that I had. The chiropractor Angie is good at what she does. Unfortunately, so is the massage therapist. Obviously, I won't go back and I wouldn't recommend that anyone who values their safety do so either. I don't know what their plan is with regard to this therapist. My main concern is that no one else is put in a position like that, and I don't feel confident that they will do enough to protect their patients, given how their initial response completely ignored everything I said except for my concerns about the empty office.
