Avoid massage therapist, david, if you're a woman. He kept me at least 15 minutes after my massage was over, and ran his hands up and down the back side of my body several times without first getting my consent. Consent for touching sensitive areas is ALWAYS established beforehand in a massage. That's number one. In 20 years of massages, I've only had one other person do that, so it's something that in my experience is pretty rare even in relaxation massages, and something I've never had done in a chiropractic massage. When I left, i realized all the rest of the office staff had left me alone in a locked office with him without telling me that would be the case (I was unaware that they closed for a huge chunk in the middle of the day), which is scary--I would never have chosen to be alone with him--and when I got back to my car, I realized that he'd gone way overtime. Massage therapists have two jobs: give massages and pay attention to the time. So the fact that he went overtime that long is pretty odd, and even odder that he didn't ask me if that was okay, and didn't even use that time for the purpose of healing what I went in there for (arm and neck), and instead ran his hands up and down my body and over my butt. This also wasn't stand alone. He also told a story about a sex joke he made (inappropriate), and just had a way of touching me that made me uncomfortable, the kind of thing where you have a bad feeling but you're asking yourself, am I worried for no reason, until you have a reason. Why did he keep me that late knowing no one was around and then do that? Creepy. I can't get this out of my head and I don't want that happening to anyone else. When I reached out to the office, they did want to discuss this over the phone, but the gaslighty opener was "I'm sorry you felt that way about your massage." I didn't feel that way about my massage. I felt that way about what happened AFTER my massage was over. I felt that way about the sketchy circumstances that the massage therapist created. I felt that way because something was wrong. I felt that way because HE DID SOMETHING he shouldn't have done, and that something was NOT a feeling that I had. The chiropractor Angie is good at what she does. Unfortunately, so is the massage therapist. Obviously, I won't go back and I wouldn't recommend that anyone who values their safety do so either. I don't know what their plan is with regard to this therapist. My main concern is that no one else is put in a position like that, and I don't feel confident that they will do enough to protect their patients, given how their initial response completely ignored everything I said except for my concerns about the empty office. read more

After six months and continuing maintenance with the Unity Family Chiropractic Office I find their service second to none. Their independent business offers more in depth information and knowledge provided to clients as opposed to chains ie The Joint. The experience of the chiropractors and their staff offer a high level of insight and understanding ultimately giving me and others the best care. I assure you all will not find disappointment. I have been going to this office for years and even though I live in Maitland, I drive 45 minutes to get here for adjustments for myself and my kids because I absolutely love this office. These ladies are not only kind and thorough, but you know whole heartedly once you start coming, that they care about you as a person (and your family) just as much as they do your health. I was shocked to see any bad reviews, and I suppose people are entitled to their opinions and are probably more likely to write a negative review, but I would just try it yourself and make your own judgement call. Let me start by saying the Chiropractors and the Doctor themselves are really wonderful, caring, thoughtful women. They're highly educated, have all sorts of ideas for treatments and truly want you to be healthy and understand your injury. Who doesn't love a doctor who wants to educate you and believes in full disclosure? The issues I've had are enough that I saught out another chiropractor. They have split hours during the day and are close for a chunk of time in the middle of the day, when a lot of people have lunch breaks and would probably like to stop in for a quick adjustment. This made scheduling very difficult. Secondly, the receptionist has made very judgemental remarks several times that I have visited this location, plays hyper-religious radio stations fairly loudly and one time when I scheduled a follow-up appointment actually said, 'You know, if you were more consistent with your treatments maybe you wouldn't have to come back so much.' I'm sorry, but you aren't privy to my medical diagnosis, and that's not the best face to have for a business. I love the chiropractor, but she also sometimes uses modalities instead of manual adjustments. Considering each treatment is around $60, I prefer to have the adjustment done manually versus with a little adjustment gun that doesn't have the same impact. When she does them by hand, the results are marvelous. When she doesn't, I don't feel a result at all. I did bring this up with them and they were more than willing to work with me, which I appreciate. This little office has a lot going for it - aside from reception, the staff is fantastic, but between having split hours, making odd comments about how often I schedule appointments and playing very religious music (which might offend some patients) there are a few stars lost, with what I feel is just cause. read more

What an exceptional chiropractor and staff!!! I heard through the grapevine that hormonal saliva tests/consult were being offered in this family-friendly office. Sure enough, it was true! An ideal location near Publix and other stores. The staff welcomed me with wonderful smiles, pricing, and paperwork to get me started. Dr. Jen Bourst sat me down soon after. We had a pre-consult and post following the arrival of results. She took her time, asking questions, whilst answering others, and giving needed clarification along the way. I was referred to some muscle test- ing, which was a real eye-opener. Effective supplements were available for purchase with the chiropractic assistant. Booking massages will be my next step. What a blessing to find what I need is conveniently available right in the heart of Winter Garden! I'm extremely grateful for Dr. Bourst and crew. The attitude! I came here to meet with a "quack" because I needed more Standard Process thyroid meds. When I came in the entitled attitude was so bad I almost turned around to leave. The "dr" I met with was a waste of money and I still wasn't able to get the holistic pills I needed. There are lots of chiropractic practices to choose from. Love Unity Family Chiropractic & Wellness Center. My daughter & I have both had success with receiving treatment from this practice. My daughter, who is 4, suffered from terrible motion sickness. The adjustments have had a significant impact on our ability to travel. I have also seen the benefits from the adjustments. I have had issues with getting kinks in my neck and back spasms due to poor hip alignment. I'm in the middle of my treatment plan and have seen a dramatic change in back and neck pain.
