Booths on main floor are the best, the basement is okay, but not as good. If you go on a weekend, be prepared, the parking lot gets filled up. Maybe call ahead for advice on where to park if it's full. We went on a Saturday around 11-11:30 the last time we were there, and squeezed diagonally between two cars, making our own spot, and it was the last place. They may have other parking - worth a call to ask. Definitely worth a stop!

They have been hosting small businesses to do popups and the day I went was to visit a friend who runs a micro-bakery called Smorris Desserts. It was easy to support a small business who also pours back into other local small businesses and the community. There are so many cute things and also other small artists and creators hosted in the store as well such as Atelier Celeste which is one of my favorite local ceramics artists. I bought a super cute necklace from their jewelry/build your own charm bar near the registers. They had a mix of gold AND SILVER which was really nice since so many places I go to often only sell gold. I also got a cute bag charm for my purse. The prices were honestly really reasonable especially for a small local business. I think if you're able, I would try to get gifts here for friends, parties, etc. The staff is also super great. Lindsay is one of the people who I often see there and they are the coolest, kindest, and most knowledgeable people about the are. They are able to give really great recommendations for things in store and also gave me a local business recommendation for something they didn't carry. Tip: spread out your gift purchases, especially for christmastime, throughout the year! It's easier on your budget to do small things at once and it feels so nice at the end of the year to realize you already did all the hard work!

And I would have pulled my head out of my ass and been understanding. However! Raising your voice and approaching anyone in that manner is deeply shitty and clearly an attempt at humiliating me. I've seen better at other local thrift stores, albeit perhaps one star. Grand Rapids' thrift scene is very basic. Whether it's that parishioners are donating used goods to their in-church ventures (as I've seen at a local faith based retirement home) or everything is used until it's used up, GR seems to be a hard market for fun thrift shopping. (Note: if you've seen this comment before, it's because I spent the morning hitting all the thrift stores in succession, and all of them were wanting of a good dose of donations, inspiration, and organizational pizzazz.)

Luckily the crowd dwindled by the time we made it to the checkout making it a snap. A couple notes if you've never been here: - This is one of the largest and most well stocked asian grocery stores in West Michigan. I'm not saying it has everything, but it has lots of things. I try to come at least twice a year for general supplies. - Prices are fantastic. They make it worth the trip, especially if you have a bit of a drive like me. From the outside it always looks dirty and run down, what I imagine is the cost of keeping costs low in a high traffic, urban shopping area. But, once you're inside, the stock is always orderly and I've never had an issue with quality. In fact, I prefer the quality most of the time and try to stop by if I'm in the area to make it more often than a biannual trip.
