Compared to other Asian stores I've been to in GR, this grocery store definitely seems to be the largest one, with the most amount of variety. I have grown up with huge Asian grocery stores in the Westcoast, and this store is pretty similar to what I am familiar with. Kim Nhung Super Store is a great place to rely on when you're looking for Asian vegetables, fruits, sauces, snacks, ramen, etc. Basically almost everything! The other Asian stores I've been to in GR are good too, but are smaller and have less selections than Kim Nhung (i.e., one wouldn't have produce, and another would have some vegetables and fruit, but less options). They had vegetables, plants, and fruits fresh from the farm, like Aloe Vera, coconuts, beet roots, and Korean Daikon. Of course, they have other fruits like apples, oranges, and pears. There were also plenty of meat options as well. Basically, if you're wanting to cook an Asian dish that involves many ingredients, I would go to this one - with this store carrying a huge selection of vegetables, fruits, meats, ramen, snacks, and dried goods, I would be slightly surprised if you don't find what you're looking for!

Kim Nhung Superstore is located in the Golden Bridge Plaza on Division Street. It's one of the biggest Asian grocery stores I've been to in the area and they have a huge selection of produce, meat, frozen items, snacks, and houseware items. It's a bit out of the way for me and where I live, but it's definitely worth checking out for specialty Asian items that you might not be able to source elsewhere locally. They often have produce I rarely see other places, like Asian pears and rambutans. Their Facebook page is very useful as they regularly post new shipments of products. This summer the boba ice cream bars have been a huge hit and they often sell out. I've gotten ingredients at Kim Nhung for pad Thai and other Asian dishes that I cook at home. I will be sourcing the ingredients for authentic ramen there soon too! As others have noted, many of the products have limited English descriptions but if you have an idea of what you're looking for and can Google things, you should be okay. The employees are helpful too if you can track them down.

Kim Nhung Super Store serves as a vital hub for Grand Rapids' Asian American community, offering affordability and a diverse range of products. However, the store's neglect of maintenance is undeniable; the facility is in dire need of repair and appears unhygienic. The floors, seemingly untouched since 1930, reflect a lack of commitment to upkeep. While the store excels in providing economical options, its disregard for aesthetics and ambience leaves customers questioning why a place so integral to the community isn't investing in a much-needed makeover. It's time for Kim Nhung Super Store to prioritize quality over cheapness and invest in a long-overdue remodel.

They have a wide variety of Korean products. To me, they have everything! Plus, there are also restaurants in this building. It's great!

If you've never been to a Meijer, just think of a higher end Walmart but also larger in size. Meijer typically carries groceries, sporting goods, toys, clothing, shoes, electronics, school/office supplies, and home decor. Prices seem pretty good, especially because they have random sales, promotions, and even clearance sections. This is especially true for their clothing and shoe departments. Also be sure to sign up for their Mperks rewards program to earn points towards future discounts!

I called mulitple times to be told it was escalated with IT, but there was no time they could give me. This festival brings 50,000 people into the area, which is why I tried to put this in 5 days early. It is very frusturating to be told that nothing can be done with it and no timeline for a solution, when trying to be proactive with ordering. Also when I went to cancel my account with them because I was fed up, I got yet another error message saying my account couldn't be deleted. This must be a common thing for people to come from out of town and preorder for ease in traveling and seems like a major glitch that needs to be remedied. A friend tried to create an account and ran into the same issues. Very unnacceptable!

But they still have all the other essentials you need from the other Asian countries. The first thing you'll notice is that this place is super clean and the products are fresher and more presentable. It also doesn't smell like fish bc there is no butcher. One item that they have that is unique that is difficult to find but health experts say is a super vegetable is Moringa (in Filipino called Malungay). Also they have a lot of Filipino baked goods that come from Chicago. So if you like following trendy food on social media this is the place to come to for UBE. Like real ube. Love the location as it's near the Woodland Mall and we frequently find ourselves in that area of GR. Upon walking up to the store, I got a glimpse of the Christmas parols (lit stars), and got excited that it was a Filipino owned place, because I knew they'd have specific items I was looking for! They were well stocked and had a great selection of frozen seafood and meats, dry goods, and familiar snacks. Looks like a new store and very clean and well organized. Will definitely come back when I'm in the area and so glad to have found this gem in a city with few Asian options!
