Big Giant helps me do that! Big Giant Warehouse sells canned goods, frozen foods, sundries and other household items at deeply discounted prices because the items are over expiration date, or came from stores that went out of business. You may not feel comfortable purchasing certain items that are over expiration date (I know I didn't feel comfortable purchasing 29 cent Lunchables that were a year over expiration), but canned goods last forever and frozen foods have a much longer shelf life. I was able to get aluminum foil for 49 cents, canned veggies for 49 cents each and a box of 20 granola bars for a little over $2.00. I believe they are open from 10am - 6pm Monday - Saturday. Maybe I can take my grocery savings and go out for dinner once a week now!

They get some really cool stuff in and sometimes have really good prices. Shoes seem to be the most reliable find. Sometimes sporting goods, sometimes auto stuff..... just depends. The bad part is if the store they got from was WAY overpriced... and thus going out of business... the discount still isnt a good deal. Still worth the stop, just may take a few trips till you find a treasure.

At times very stressful and exhausting especially when it got too busy and some of the people are rude and pushy. I had someone took my cart while my back was turned and quickly threw everything out. Luckily I caught it time. They're really good about watching for people who break the rules and calling them out. Honestly at first I was getting amazing deals and then I noticed the bins started to be less and less valuable. It was more junkie items than electronics or fancy things you can use. Then, they raised their price from $8 to $10 but the items did not get better. I noticed that the items they advertise they have they do not put it out. I think the owners and employees keep the good things for themselves or sell them privately because they'll claim they have something but you never see it in the bin or see anyone find it. They keep a couple of expensive good items behind the glass counter and tell people it's for the raffle at a certain time and yet if you wait around they change the time and say well actually we'll draw at so and so time and by then who'd want to wait another 2 hours for the next raffle. If you want a deal the only day to go is Friday and Saturday. After that good luck searching in a pile of junk. I don't go anymore and my friends that I have brought got tired of paying $10 for broken items so we agreed we would rather just pay full price but know we are getting quality items that work. My friend has bought a broken slow cooker, and I bought a toy to later find out it's broken. There are other bin stores in the area and I've been to another one that is nicer with a lot of Dyson products but the crowds are so stressful! Just go and experience it for yourself!

This is one of those places where you are not going to find the "Oklahoma Standard" that is often heard of in the aftermath of the tragedy this city endured 31 years ago. Perhaps it's in a rougher area where reminders of that strength are put on the back burner. Perhaps the people working there have low pay and long hours that make even a simple request "too much." Perhaps the people there don't work with survivors of mass tragedies, where those lessons are taken to heart. Perhaps there are privileges that go unaccounted for that build entitlement, bitterness, or complacency. As someone who came here for the Marathon, trying to get some goods for the Oklahoma City Marathon, it's extremely disappointing to see the lack of politeness, as the cashier was busy talking with another person who seemed to be holding the line just to have a conversation, thinking me asking for a bag might be a problem, or not even saying thank you. When I visited places like Cambodia, where people who are actual survivors of war and genocide provide hospitality despite all they have known, along with hearing from survivors in Uvalde, where the community comes together and pleasant words and waves are shown at local shops and restaurants, to the rescuers' stories and survivors from those who were in Oklahoma on April 19 when the attack occurred, and despite that, they provide understanding, compassion, and wisdom to those who need it, compared to someone who, despite literally working a distance away from the Oklahoma tragedy, forgets how an interaction with a visitor for the Marathon can impact the overall experience, then an unacknowledged privilege exists here that comes from the failure to learn from tragedies like the one that happened 31 years ago. If you are coming for the run as a visitor, you might as well skip this spot for your last minute running needs and go to a Costco or Target instead. Remember: if those who survived tragedies can continue to practice kindness despite what happened in life, then the Oklahoma Standard is a universal standard that must be lived out. Otherwise, those who have never known the weight of those tragedies, yet use it to be rude, mean, or inconsiderate, will find a "permission slip" to disrespect others, especially when there are those who have known those extremes and chose not to. read more

To Whom It May Concern, I am writing to express my absolute disbelief and disgust at the level of mismanagement, incompetence, and disorganization I have experienced dealing with Family Dollar. In all my years, I have never encountered a company so profoundly uncoordinated and devoid of basic operational efficiency. It is truly staggering how every single layer of your business--from your in-store experience to your corporate customer service--feels like it is being run without any clear leadership, training, or accountability. Store locations are understaffed and chaotic. Calls to customer support result in endless loops of automated nonsense, with no actual resolution or access to a live person. Escalations go ignored, and no one takes responsibility for anything. The level of unprofessionalism is beyond comprehension. Employees are either overwhelmed or completely disengaged. Communication is nonexistent. Promises are made and then broken without a second thought. It is insulting to customers who simply expect to be treated with basic human decency and respect. Family Dollar should be ashamed of how poorly it operates. Your brand has become synonymous with failure, neglect, and a total lack of care--not just for your customers, but seemingly for your own staff as well. If this is the standard you accept, then your leadership team needs to seriously re-evaluate why they're even in business. I genuinely hope this message reaches someone with enough integrity and influence to care. But based on everything I've seen, I won't be holding my breath. read more

I came in today for a return and had to wait a while in line. There is no counter specifically for returns only, so you have to wait in line with all the people trying to purchase their stuff. Probably not a good process. At least have a return counter. They usually have some pretty good deals here.
